Gutes Essen. Sehr nette Bedienung. Nur ein kleiner Salat zum Hauptgericht ( Steak, Schnitzel) fehlt.

Zentral und schön gelegen. Schöner Außenbereich z.T. unter altem Baumbestand. Gasthaus rustikal, aber passend zur Geschichte des Hauses. Essen sehr lecker und ausreichende Portionsgröße, am Nachbartisch teilweise sehr reichlich! Satt wird man auf jeden Fall! Personal ist sehr freundlich und unkompliziert, Gerichte ließen nicht zu lange auf sich warten. Neben der normalen Speisekarte gab es auch eine Sonder/Saisonkarte. Klare Empfehlung!

Konnten hier sehr gut essen. Auch der Service ist sehr nett.

Mitten in der Stadt! Bratkartoffeln uns Schnitzel sind super.

Es war sehr viel los, trotzdem wurden wir flott, gelassen und professionell bedient. Der Spargel war auf den Punkt gegart und auch die Käsespätzle mit den leckeren Zwiebeln ist sehr zu empfehlen. Vielen dank 😊

Ein schönes altes Gasthaus mit gutem Essen, toller Auswahl an guten Bieren und eine sehr gute Auswahl an sehr guten Single Malts, für ein Gasthaus ungewöhnlich gut. 👍

Sehr freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Sehr gutes lokales Essen - wir hatten Himmel & Ädd und die Rinderleber. Beide Speisen waren fantastisch, sehr lecker und ausreichend. Das Ambiente ist schön, klar und historisch ohne zu „erdrücken“. Empfehlung!

03.02.2026 „Ein kulinarisches Erlebnis der Extraklasse“ Es gibt Abende, an denen einfach alles zusammenpasst – das Essen, das Ambiente und ein Service, der den Genuss vollkommen macht. Einen solchen Abend durften wir wieder einmal im „Altes Standesamt & Altes Rathaus“ erleben. Wie schon bei unserem letzten Besuch haben wir uns für ein 4-Gänge-Menü entschieden und die Küche gebeten, uns das Menü ganz individuell zu kreieren. Bis auf zwei kleine Ausschlusskriterien durfte sich das Team kulinarisch frei entfalten. Und genau das macht den besonderen Reiz aus: Man weiß nie im Detail, was kommt – aber man weiß, dass es außergewöhnlich wird. Und so war es auch diesmal. Jeder Gang war hervorragend aufeinander abgestimmt, geschmacklich harmonisch und in idealer Portionsgröße serviert. Die Kreativität der Küche spiegelte sich in raffinierten Kombinationen, spannenden Aromen und einer Präsentation wider, die mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet war. Frische, hochwertige Zutaten und handwerkliche Präzision machten jeden Teller zu einem kleinen Erlebnis. Eine besonders schöne und persönliche Note war die eigens gestaltete Menükarte – eine Aufmerksamkeit, die den Abend zusätzlich aufwertet und Individualität spürbar macht. Abgerundet wurde das Ganze durch einen aufmerksamen, herzlichen und zugleich professionellen Service, der präsent war, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken. Das urgemütliche Ambiente des Hauses sorgt dafür, dass man sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und rundum wohlfühlt. Ein großes Kompliment an die erstklassige Küche und das gesamte Team. Für den nächsten besonderen Anlass werden wir ganz sicher wieder darum bitten, uns ein individuelles Menü kreieren zu lassen – wir freuen uns schon jetzt darauf. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die sich überraschen lassen und einen genussvollen Abend auf höchstem Niveau erleben möchten.

Leider heute nicht wie gewohnt. Essen war nicht auf dem Punkt; und Gänsekeule für 35€; Klöse sind aber aus dafür Salzkartoffeln 🤔🫩. Dann lieber ein paar Dinge weniger auf der Karte und dafür gleichbleibend solide Qualität 🙏.

Very good food, friendly service, great atmosphere.

I chose the main course, "Pumpkin Goulash (vegan)," from the special menu. This was nothing more than pumpkin soup, not pureed. So, absolutely nothing special—I was expecting something more unusual, given the name. The real problem, however, was that neither I nor my colleague were even remotely full. The portion was tiny! We politely informed the waiter, but the response from the kitchen was that this was the standard portion—twice the size of a soup starter. I would estimate the contents of the small pot to be 300 ml, consisting of a few pieces of pumpkin, a medium-sized potato, and a sauce made from pureed pumpkin and tomato/pepper. We complained that this could hardly be sold as a main course for this price (15.8 euros). We still didn't get a second helping, but we did comment that others were certainly full from it. If I, at 50 kg, can't get full from it, I wonder who will? The portion would have been a nice appetizer. Customer service, in other words, absolutely lousy. The other people's portions looked mostly sufficient. The wait times were also very long.

We were here with a mixed group (50 people) of French and German tourists. The reservation was perfect via email and phone. They then provided a specially compiled and printed menu for us. The dishes were exceptionally plentiful and delicious. I'll give the staff an extra star. They remained calm despite the language barrier. The service was smooth and prompt. We would gladly return...

A thoroughly successful evening! The atmospheric setting right on the market square creates a wonderful atmosphere, which was perfectly complemented by the extremely friendly and attentive service. We were treated to first-class dishes – outstanding in taste and absolutely fair in price. The menu offers a diverse selection, so there's truly something for everyone. Unfortunately, the food doesn't hold up. Very nice atmosphere. The meat died three times. The fried potatoes were swimming in oil. Children were hostile. The waiters ignored you. The black pudding looked like briquettes.

A very nice restaurant, we were in the beer garden. My wife even got something vegan. Super delicious jackfruit curry. Amazing!

Good beer, good food. Unfortunately, we were kicked out at 10:30 p.m. sharp. There was no chance of a leisurely drink, but we were prepared because by 10 p.m., no orders had arrived. Only the comment "We close at 10:30 p.m." It was noticeable in the tips; everyone paid every penny.

The food was good, and the service was friendly. What's strange, though, is that you're not allowed to order food and drinks at the same time. You can only order food once the drinks arrive. I've never experienced anything like that before.

I have to admit - I've been there several times as part of the motorcycle club. It's never been good, but perhaps average. Yesterday was definitely my last visit. The quality of the food is abysmal and no longer correlates with the now significantly increased prices. The so-called schnitzel, size S—and we're talking about a pork schnitzel—weighed in at 200g, if anything. The hunter's sauce doesn't deserve the name. A thick, floury mush from a packet with, I'd say, not-so-fresh mushrooms, bursting with flavor enhancers. The coarse fries were probably homemade, but they weren't crispy at all. I've eaten there a few times, but such a bad meal, along with two beers for over €40, is simply outrageous. I don't want to know what the so-called chef trained in, but it has nothing to do with good food.

We had the asparagus with wild salmon and the roasted sirloin. Both were perfectly prepared and simply delicious. The service was also excellent. It's a good idea to make a reservation in advance. I would recommend this restaurant anytime!

Our family Christmas party in the old registry office in Bad Honnef was a complete success: the service was careful and attentive, and beer and drinks were fresh on the table as soon as we ordered. My roulades tasted as if they had been lovingly wrapped by a German Ömchen according to an old secret recipe and slowly simmered throughout the afternoon. Great cinema! All other family members were also very satisfied with their food. The atmosphere was very cozy and warm. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Very tasty food and friendly service

A very cozy restaurant with a great atmosphere. There is good German cuisine here. We had schnitzel, which comes in different sizes, and savoy cabbage roulade. Everything was super tasty. We also had beer from the Engel brewery. Something different and also delicious. If you would like to drink a good whiskey after a meal you will definitely find something here. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent food for an affordable price. The best tomato soup I have ever tasted. A bit sweet with pepper in it. The breaded schnitzel with nice white pork was tasty. Delicious fries and a fresh salad. Cozy German decor/atmosphere and excellent service. Would love to come back again.

Very good home-style cooking, but also suitable for our children who eat a vegetarian diet. The innkeeper really knows a thing or two about liqueurs and especially whiskey.

Cozy, long-established restaurant on the market square in Bad Honnef. In summer you can sit outside. The small island of deciduous trees, surrounded by older, well-kept houses and the Catholic church. Church offers a shady, nice place to linger. It gave the impression that the market square would be closed to car traffic in the evenings. I can well imagine that the older and younger people of Honnef meet here in the evenings after work or on the weekend to chat over a beer or two and find out about current city and neighborhood events.🙈🙉🙊. The small table lamps shone on the individual tables under the deciduous trees and created a cozy atmosphere as darkness fell. The service was friendly and attentive and I didn't have to wait long for the food, which tasted quite good and was decorated decoratively and appetizingly. In my opinion: good, comfortable and uncomplicated.

Based on the reviews, we ate there yesterday with 6 people. In our case, I can't recommend this location because of the food. Pork loin pounded flat like a thin schnitzel and dry to no end. Rump steak mayor tendons more than enough and fried pink none. When I was clearing away I was asked if everything was OK. When I said that my rump steak was nothing and that I had eaten better, the answer was "I can understand that". Well, how is that to be understood?? Don't repeat us.

Traditional restaurant in the heart of Bad Honnef. Friendly service, large portions (but quality was not sacrificed for the sake of quality). All in all, a solid restaurant. Price is okay for Bad Honnef and the quality of the food.

Historic building with local cuisine. Friendly and attentive staff, the food came quickly despite the street party and full tables. And it tasted good and we thought the prices were reasonable. The outdoor dining area is accessible by wheelchair, although the toilets are on the first floor via stairs.

We sat in the back room. Ambience of an upscale inn, service super friendly and sometimes fun to have. The food was very good, the onions on the rump steak had been able to braise for a bit longer and for the medium rare there was a bit of bleeding, but the fried potatoes were great. I can especially recommend the pancakes. Entrance can be reached via a few steps, otherwise barrier-free.
