The food is truly delicious and so beautifully presented: we had the breaded schnitzel and the grilled platter... delicious —and the young waitress is so accommodating. Therefore, we both give it a solid 5 stars without reservation. Thank you, and please keep it up. We can highly recommend the "Alte Rathaus" to everyone!

Very good food featuring local specialties and a family atmosphere. It was especially good considering we were with our two small children (3 and 5) after a visit to the nearby Ravensburger Spieleland.

On our motorcycle trip, we had dinner at the Old Town Hall and were immediately greeted by the very friendly staff. Even though it was very busy, they made room for us. The food is fresh and locally sourced and highly recommended! The staff and the owner himself deserve special mention. He personally checks in on the well-being of his guests! The service is super friendly and keeps a complete overview of his guests, even when they're very busy. Special requests are also dealt with immediately. This "complete package" is rare, and we are very happy to have experienced it! We recommend anyone in the area to stop by the Old Town Hall and are already looking forward to our next visit! We will definitely be back 😀

We sat there in the beer garden for dinner. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. I ordered a cordon bleu of the week and was surprised by the filling. It was filled with Gorgonzola – a perfect match for me – I love Gorgonzola. The meat on the grill was cooked to perfection. The herb butter was homemade, and the fries were thin potato wedges and beautifully crispy. Inside, the interior is timelessly modern, without losing any of its old-world charm.

We were extremely surprised by the delicious food and friendly service. The children's menu is fun and perfectly curated. The soup of the day was delicious, and today's recommendation (vegetarian Maultäschle) was a real hit. A well-deserved tip, a pleasure, 5 out of 5 stars!

Anyone looking for authentic, handcrafted Swabian cuisine should definitely stop by here. Although rather inconspicuously located close to the road, this inn was truly a lucky find for our dinner. The menu offers a selection of classic Swabian dishes – we had superb, homemade Maultaschen (swabian pockets) with a delicious sauce. No processed foods, you could really taste it in the food, which is cooked with dedication and self-determination. Our service was attentive, friendly, and even recommended dishes. You could really tell that the people here are passionate about their work – both in the kitchen and in the service. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable for the quality of the food. If you love Swabian cuisine or want to get to know it, this is the place for you.

We ordered Swiss sausage salad and sour cheese as a half/half to go today and were totally disappointed after picking it up with what we were expecting for €13 per portion! At first, I thought, okay, 30 minutes for a cold meal to pick up wasn't exactly fast, but okay, good things take time! Each portion was packaged in an aluminum tray, and the bread for all portions was in one bag, which is generally fine. The trays and contents were poorly presented and tasteless, so much so that for this price we had to add vinegar, salt, and pepper from home to get some flavor. The amount is simply outrageous for this price. There were exactly two pieces of sour cheese in the half/half we ordered. It's a shame it wasn't good!!

Highly recommended. 4 people for dinner around 6:00 PM. Service was very friendly and not pushy or intrusive. Onion roast beef with cheese spaetzle salad was really good, I recommend it. The other three were also very satisfied. All four meals were served together within a reasonable time. Overall, we were very satisfied.

We had lunch at the Old Town Hall in Meckenbeuren and were thrilled! The food was consistently delicious – we had Maultaschen (swabian pasta), a salad with chicken strips, and Geschläge (smashed pork). All dishes were freshly prepared, delicious, and lovingly presented. We were particularly impressed by the excellent value for money. For a lunch of this standard – fresh, healthy, and high-quality – you pay barely more than for a kebab, but you get significantly more. The ambiance is cozy, the service friendly and attentive. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with passion. Insider tip: The non-alcoholic Kristallweizen (wheat beer) – ice-cold, super refreshing, and perfect with your meal! We'd definitely be back – keep it up!

Unfortunately, it's only open at lunchtime. We used to frequent Jürgen's in the evenings. Unfortunately, that's no longer possible.

Overall, it was truly excellent: We spontaneously had dinner at the Old Town Hall. The restaurant had a Father's Day menu, small but with something for everyone, including vegetarian options. The restaurant was almost completely full, but the friendly waiter immediately and politely informed us that it would take a little longer for the food to arrive. This was perfectly fine, as it was full, as described. It's great when you know where you stand right away, so you're happy to wait. The drinks came very quickly. Our tip for tourists like us: grab a Hagnau wine. We each had a side salad beforehand. Here, they served great, homemade raw vegetable salads, with potato salad, and a flat salad with their own delicious dressing. €5 is nothing to complain about. For the main course, we had the XXL currywurst (€14) with homemade curry sauce and the breaded schnitzel with fries (€16) and gravy separately. The curry sauce and gravy were very tasty and seemed homemade. The sausage and schnitzel were really large portions, but the fries were unfortunately a bit overseasoned. Overall, though, it was great! We're deducting one star because there was no dessert on the menu, which is a real shame; it would have made the visit even more special. Although the restaurant was very busy, we always felt like we were in good hands. It was noticeable that the young waitress enjoyed his job despite the stress and always had a smile on her face. The ambiance is, as the name suggests, a bit dated, but without losing its charm. The restrooms are very clean, and there are more than enough parking spaces! Thank you, we'll be back.

We were passing through on May 19, 2025, and stopped there for a bite! The food—a large schnitzel, fries, and salad—was delicious. The meat was very tender, and the price of €10.50 was unbeatable! A meal for two with a drink for less than €30, and then you're still full—where else can you find that? A €5 tip doesn't hurt! A pleasant chat with the friendly waitress was also included! We were extremely satisfied and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for everything!

The boss comes to the table and asks if everything is ok and after the meal there comes a huge basket of sweets where you can choose something. Price completely okay. We were there in the evening with the baby and all three were greeted very friendly and cheerfully. The service was extremely nice and there is a cozy atmosphere. The food came quickly and greatly exceeded our expectations. The chef came over personally to see if we liked it. He even gave all the guests a little sweet on the house. You packed up the leftovers for us. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

...wir waren auf unserer Motorrad-Bodensee-Tour in Meckenbeuren und hatten das "Alte Rathaus" in unserer Liste für ein Abendessen - wir waren sehr zufrieden - Essen ausgezeichnet - sehr freundlicher Service - gutes Preis-/Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden.

Super Service tolle Bedienung haben sogar unseren Hund total verwöhnt. Das Essen war super lecker 😋, alles in allem ein toller Abend, kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Sehr leckere schwäbische Spezialitäten und grosszügige Portionen. Sehr speditive und kinderfreundliche Bedienung. Unsere Kinder bekamen sogar ein Wassereis aufs Haus zum Nachtisch. Leider kann man nur mit Bargeld bezahlen, was uns erst bei Erhalt der Rechnung mitgeteilt worden ist und uns ziemlich in die Bredouille gebracht hat, da kein Geldautomat in der direkten Umgebung kontaktlose Bargeldbezüge anbietet. Die Inhaber haben uns aber netterweise anschreiben und einen Tag später bezahlen lassen, obwohl wir Touristen waren. Dieses Vertrauen in den Gast haben wir sehr geschätzt!

Gemütliches, gut bürgerliches Restaurant, freundlicher Service. Es gibt die meisten Gerichte auch als "kleine" Version, die auch schon sehr üppig ausfallen. Das Steak, war sehr gut gelungen, genau richtig medium, schön saftig mit selbst gemachter, sehr leckerer Kräuterbutter. Die Schweinemedaillons sehr zart. Es gibt auch vegetarische Gerichte. Achtung, keine Kartenzahlung möglich, sind aber Bankautomaten in der Nähe

Wir waren im Ravensburger Land und sind aus der Schweiz. Wir waren auf Restaurant suche mit unseren 2 kleinen Kindern. Ich kann nur sagen das es Top war. Die Bedienung die Stimmung der Koch (Chef) alle waren einfach top. Das essen war ein echter Gaumenschmaus. Für die Tochter gab es am schluss sogar noch ein Eis aufs Haus. Da freute sich aber jemand. Vielem herzlichen dank für die Bewirtung. Wir waren nicht das letzte mal dort und haben es bereits weiter empfohlen.

Wundervoller Abend mit super frischem Essen in top qualität. Selbst der Beilagensalat war (natürlich neben dem TOP-Hauptgericht) an Frische und Geschmack ein Highlight. Wirtsleute sind absolut freundlich / sympatisch und beherrschen ihr Handwerk total. Hab mich sehr wohlgefühlt und habe den Abend mit meiner Gruppe wirklich sehr genossen. Preis/Leistung mehr als gerechtfertigt. Jederzeit wieder und empfehlenswert.

Ein sehr einfaches Lokal mit regionalen sowie Mitteleuropäischen Spezialitäten. Der Höhepunkt an Einrichtung sind die modernen LEDs. Die Speisen sind üppig, auf heißen Tellern serviert (Das schaffen Hauben-Lokale nicht, warum auch immer. (Vermutlich weil ihre Portionen kleiner sind)). Unterschiede merkt man aber schon. So ziemlich alle Gerichte werden in der gleichen Soße serviert, die ich geschmacklich nicht zuordnen kann. Das Dressing beim Salat war etwas dünn, der gemischte Salat aber auch eine riesige Portion. Wir wurden freundlich bedient, das Glas blieb nie lange leer. Es ist eben ein Dorfgasthaus, wo sich nicht so oft Touristen verirren. Die Speisen sind, wie überall teurer geworden. Das Bier recht günstig. Die Sperrstunde wird eher großzügig ausgelegt. Im Zweifel für den Gast. Schade das nur am Wochenende offen ist. Kurzes Fazit. Bei tadelloser Service und doch guten Speisen sehe ich eine 4/5, und willkommen bei TripAdvisor

Hat geschmeckt wie aus dem Kaufhaus!Der Wurstsalat von meinem Kollegen hat auch so geschmeckt!Der Service war in Ordnung und sehr freundlich! Die Einrichtung sieht etwas veraltet aus und nicht mehr ganz zeitgemäß!

Erst einmal zum positiven. Das Essen war wirklich gut, ist aber auch nix besonderes. Basic lecker zum abholen eine gute Adresse. Das Ambiente, na ja. Verbesserungswürdig trifft es ganz gut. Warum man vorn in grellen Licht sitzt kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Beleuchtung 6 setzen. Die Bedienung hatte hoffentlich nur einen schlechten Tag. Die lieblose Speisekarte ist in einer Folie. Eine Getränkekarte gibt es gar nicht. Nachtisch gibt es laut den Wirt seit Corona auch nicht mehr. Ich muss da nicht mehr essen gehen.

Ottimi piatti e prezzi economici, ci siamo trovati x caso e siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dalla bontà dei piatti e dalla super cordialità del cuoco e del personale che hanno coccolato noi e soprattutto le bambine stanche dal viaggio con giochi e caramelle e ci hanno anche portato un piatto in più solo per far stuzzicare qualcosa alle bambine nell' attesa, una cosa negativa che purtroppo non parlano italiano e neanche inglese ma hanno fatto di tutto per metterci a nostro agio
