We were there about a month ago. We called shortly beforehand and asked if a table was available and got one immediately. The restaurant was busy for a Thursday evening. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. We received a free aperitif from the owner and a nightcap after the meal. The owner was a very attentive host who immediately noticed every little detail and was always there to help. The food was excellent. The portions were great, and the burgers we had were second to none. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. In my opinion, the price is even too low for such fresh and high-quality products. The ambiance suits the restaurant very well and is absolutely cozy. We've already booked a table for our next visit, and we're already looking forward to it. Keep up the good work!

We were warmly welcomed and the staff was incredibly friendly. Our luggage was taken straight from our hands upon arrival and carried to our room. We were amazed by the friendliness. The room was very clean and there was a freshness in the air, the bed was also freshly made. The food there is world class, you feel like you're at a star chef. We had grilled shrimp and bruschetta as an appetizer. It was world class and just an appetizer. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients. For the main course we had the chicken schnitzel in a mushroom cream sauce... simply a taste explosion... wow, you can tell this is a professional cooker. The food was well portioned and we were stuffed and the plates were empty.

I was recently in the Altes Posthaus in Ahlhorn and all I can say is: Wow! The service was really good – super friendly and always there. The food was simply delicious! The selection is great and everything tastes fresh and really good. The prices are humane. Approximately 30-40€ per person (with drinks). But the quality of the food makes them absolutely fair. The atmosphere is also really cozy. It has that rustic charm of the old post house, but still modern and inviting. All in all, a clear recommendation for a great evening! I'll definitely go there again.

On November 5th, 2024, we went to a business lunch with a larger group in the Old Posthouse in Ahlhorn - and it was a complete success! The food was excellent and everyone in the group really enjoyed it. We were particularly impressed by the pleasant atmosphere and first-class service: friendly, attentive and professional. I had high expectations for my dinner at this restaurant, but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. It felt like forever before we received the menus. While the service was friendly, it seemed like the staff were completely overwhelmed. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time, hoping it would shorten the wait. But the opposite was the case We waited over 2 hours for our food! In the meantime, we watched as other guests who arrived after us were served their food. This was frustrating and we felt ignored. We asked several times about the status of our order, but the answers were always vague and didn't seem particularly helpful I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at this restaurant. The long waiting times make it impossible for me to recommend this restaurant. I hope they can get the long wait times under control.

I was here to celebrate the completion of my studies and it was a disastrous experience. We had our table at 7pm, but the order wasn't taken until 7:20pm. At 8:52 p.m. – almost two hours later – the first of our six guests received their food. One of the dishes was also cold. During this long wait we asked several times how the food was going, but the service staff was just bad. We were literally ignored, no one came by to check on us or ask us for more drinks. There wasn't even an apology or an explanation for the impossible delay. I've never experienced such incredibly poor and substandard service even at McDonald's in Cloppenburg - and that's really saying something. All in all, this store deserves a 0/5 at best. Definitely not recommended, just disappointing and completely unacceptable

Just got there at 4:38pm to grab a bite to eat. There was only one guest there and there were reservation signs on various tables. In a tone that wasn't exactly customer-oriented, we were offered room after room. Our request to sit at a non-reserved table in the cozy dining room was rejected on the grounds that this table was also reserved. As I said it was 4:38 p.m. We then regretted the fact and said we would go somewhere else. No attempt to persuade us to stay. It's a shame, everyone has family celebrations there. But I question the next one because of its rude nature.

The restaurant is quaint and cozy. The service staff were very friendly and, even though we hadn't made a reservation and the restaurant was very full, we were able to get a table and were served quickly. The portions are very large and the food is really recommended. We'd love to come back.

Everything is fine, always happy

First the positives, food was good and staff was very nice. A single room including breakfast is offered online for €69. Unfortunately there is no breakfast. Last year the price including breakfast was €59. Even if you take 7 percent inflation into account, this increase is incomprehensible. And renting rooms without breakfast is not possible. Especially since a few meters away the Ahlhorner Krug offers single rooms for €59 including breakfast according to the website.

I can't say anything about the hotel (I wasn't a hotel guest), leaving during the day was a hassle (much better at night with the Citipost) but the food (Wiener-style schnitzel with fries) is perfect in terms of taste and size (homemade fries and home-made breaded ones). Schnitzel - not a run-of-the-mill mass-produced product from the Metro or Selgros or or or) PS: The star is missing because of the parking/drive-away situation

I have known the Leck family for many years now. The restaurant is run in an exemplary manner, with very fine cuisine. A great menu, with lots of options to choose from. The food is very tasty and always freshly prepared. And if it's not on the menu, the chefs will definitely come up with something nice for you. The Leck family lives for their house. I recently went there for the first time to celebrate my birthday and can highly recommend this restaurant. The interior is very comfortably furnished and the food was absolutely top. The menu is very extensive so there is something for everyone. Orders are processed very quickly by the extremely friendly staff. This restaurant is now one of my favorites in the area. Food was ok. Service very nice and attentive. What is an absolute disgrace to charge 2.50 euros for changing from fried potatoes to fries! Unfortunately I saw it too late on the invoice. Never again.

Unfortunately, they didn't manage to serve a dish in an hour and a half (lunchtime!!).

Since we have many friends in Ahlhorn, we have often stayed at the Posthaus for 25 years. The rooms are very small, the bathroom is tiny, but completely okay for one night. The post house has had a new owner for a while now, who is also very helpful and the room cost €20 more. Also okay with the price increases. Next time it cost €14 more, which was borderline for the size of the room, but the breakfast was very great and the service was good. Yesterday when we got the key we were told that there was no longer any breakfast, but the price remained the same. We were not informed about this and the extensive breakfast is still advertised on the website. This is definitely not okay and after 25 years we will look for another place to stay overnight. Nevertheless, all the best for the future.

We ate at the restaurant and it was delicious! Nice choice of German and Italien food. Carpaccio and pasta were superb as well as the soup and the Wiener Schnitzel. We will be back to try other things.

My colleague and I stayed here due to assembly. The food is delicious, the rooms are super clean and comfortable, the service is great, everyone is super friendly and in a good mood. We have been here for a while and have eaten almost every meal. You can recommend everything with a good heart, it tastes really good. The chef does a very good job and responds to special requests.

Super friendly staff. Hotel is cozy and the rooms are clean and bright. Bed is good and bathroom is big enough and clean. The attached restaurant offers delicious food. The lunch menu is particularly recommended; for little money there is a 3-course menu with decent portions that doesn't give you the feeling of an assembly line. Freshly cooked and delicious, I started the second half of the day full and satisfied. The service was attentive and friendly! The hotel is located right next to the train station and a main road, which makes it very easy to reach, but also creates a lot of noise during the day. If you keep the windows closed it is well insulated. There are shops and bakeries nearby.

The convenient location directly opposite the train station made arrival and departure much easier for many of my guests. On the day of the celebration the hall was beautifully decorated. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was really amazing!!! So great that it's hard to describe. Many of my guests also gave me feedback that the food was really good and couldn't be topped. THANK YOU for making my birthday an unforgettable experience!
