We were here for the first time this afternoon. Very, very nice service, who openly admitted that our order had been forgotten. After that, all orders came very quickly. The cappuccino was good; it would have been even better with sugar. The iced coffee was below average, but the location and the relaxed atmosphere made it a very pleasant afternoon. I'd be happy to come back. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention the delicious cherry crumble cake. My iced coffee was served in a mochito glass. Not particularly appealing, and the coffee had a distinct Amarena aroma. 🤔🙃 But thank you for reading the suggestions...it takes a lot of time. Thank you.

We were there yesterday and were looking forward to German cuisine. There are now Adana skewers, bulgur and lamb chops there. I ordered a grill plate: I received a plate with half salad, a small bowl of bulgur, a small chicken skewer, a small Adana skewer and fries that were in the sauce from the salad. And all for almost €20. Price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Location Location is very nice, but everything is very old.

It was our first time there and we can definitely agree with the many positive reviews! A perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature, especially in sunny weather. We enjoyed delicious coffee specialties in the Altes Fährhaus and ate homemade cake - both were simply excellent. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful ambience - the boho style on the terrace, the loving furnishings and details create a cozy and relaxed atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back! ☺️

On Easter Sunday we decided to go to the “Altes Fährhaus” restaurant - without a reservation we got a nice table for three people. The staff very polite, friendly and quick. The food was super tasty, lamb chop with few bones, grilled to perfection and side dishes were also really good. There was also a greeting from the kitchen, a tasty tomato soup. We also ordered tarte flambée, which could have been from Alsace, with a thin, crispy base and the topping left nothing to be desired. For dessert there was a latte macchiato cake to kneel in. All in all, a successful meal. Thanks to the team.

Ostersonntag waren wir kurz entschlossen im Restaurant "Altes Fährhaus" - ohne Reservierung haben wir für 3 Personen einen schönen Tisch bekommen. Das Personal sehr höflich, freundlich und schnell. Das Essen war super lecker, Lammkotelett wenig Knochen, auf den Punkt gegrillt und Beilagen auch echt gut. Es gab auch einen Gruß aus der Küche, eine schmackhafte Tomatensuppe. Außerdem hatten wir Flammkuchen bestellt, der auch aus dem Elsass hätte sein können, dünner knuspriger Boden und der Belag ließ auch nichts zum Wünschen übrig. Zum Nachtisch gab es dann Latte Macciato Torte zum hinein knieen. Alles in allem ein gelungenes Essen. Danke an das Team.

Unfortunately my schnitzel was tough. But I was probably unlucky because my husband was good. Portions huge. Conditions are very friendly, unfortunately you cannot give tips when paying by card.

Surprisingly pleasant short stop on the way to the Ruhr area. We wanted to have something to eat and were greeted nicely with a greeting from the kitchen, followed by a really large salad and nicely prepared currywurst fries. Service super friendly. View of the Weser is priceless. Good prices. We'll definitely take a look again.

Today we had breakfast in the old ferry house. Very tasty and rich in choice. Operation and service were very nice and the ambience with a view of the Weser was simply beautiful. Anyone who goes on a Weser bike tour through Bad Oeynhausen should definitely stop off here. Also a cool drink, cake and/or coffee, a small, delicious meal, everything is possible. Price/performance 👍👍

Very nice restaurant with a view of the Weser. Service, food and drinks very good. When the weather is good you can find a seat with a view in the beer garden, otherwise in the restaurant.

The restaurant/beer garden is actually in a great location right on the Weser. The first impression counts, and that is the shabby shed to the right of the entrance. Yes, more effort has been made internally, but it doesn't really have a positive effect. The menu has also seen better days (grabbed). Dishes a little from everyone. Also daily offers. First of all, do we have a greeting from the kitchen? Which you can save yourself, sorry but it tasted like ready-made powder to me. My main course schnitzel with fries (17.90 €) + 0.80 € for mayo! It wasn't the worst but it was the worst schnitzel I've had in a long time. (Tk goods) which was still poorly fried. Fries were good!. I would assume that the sauce for the schnitzel came from a bag. Why do you do this to yourself? Fresh is just as quick and a lot tastier. My conclusion: ate there with three people and had a drink, that's €70. Unfortunately we won't be coming back... because it doesn't really fit. Sorry!

We were completely pampered, not only with the starter and dessert platter we ordered together ("Dessert doesn't go to the stomach but to the heart"). Yesterday we went to the “Altes Fährhaus” restaurant for the first time. It is really beautifully located, with a direct view of the Weser and the landscape behind it. After our order, we received our drinks very quickly and a short time later a small greeting from the kitchen in the form of a zucchini-vegetable soup. From the soup to the schnitzel to the burger, the food was really tasty and beautifully presented. Afterwards we treated ourselves to dessert: a crepe and a waffle - both of which were also very tasty. The staff was also super attentive and incredibly friendly. Conclusion: A visit to this restaurant is definitely worth it and we will be happy to come back when the opportunity arises!

Went here for a coffee. Great location right on the Weser. Very friendly staff. It has a great old charm to me. Which you rarely find anymore. I was immediately transported back to my childhood❤️. We immediately made reservations for dinner next week :-)

We really enjoyed the food and the service was great. You also have a wonderful view of the Weser. You can spend a lot of time here. Consistently warm food or coffee and cake. There is something for everyone. A great restaurant.

A beautiful location, somewhat hidden from drivers, directly accessible to cyclists on the Weser cycle path. Very friendly service. The menu and daily specials are very diverse. Before the meal, a “greeting from the kitchen” was brought. Soup with bread and side dishes (cucumber, carrot, pumpkin). The food, we had poultry and minced meat skewers, very tasty. The skewers were served with tzatziki and a slightly spicy tomato and onion dip. The salad was simple but really tasty. A mayonaise ordered with it came in a small bowl and not in plastic. Very good. The french fries were crispy and flavorful. So an all-round good tasting experience. It was good to eat here. The location... a bit hidden but nice, right on the Weser.

Location, location, location...... Beautiful place, that's why the 2 stars. Cutlery wasn't that clean, ok, that can happen. My salad was completely rotten and not edible. I told the young lady in service and she said she would pass it on. But then nothing came, no coffee on the house, no sorry, nothing 🤷‍♀️

Today we had cod and mixed plates. The food was very tasty and incredibly flavorful. At the end there was a delicious waffle with cream and hot cherries. The gentleman who served us was very accommodating and, above all, nice and helpful. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

An inn right on the Weser with super friendly, attentive staff. There is a varied menu for eating or we chose the daily special. From the terrace you have a beautiful view of the Weser, the Weser cycle path leads right past here. We liked it here so much that we came back here two days later for a coffee break and treated ourselves to a delicious piece of cake with a cappuccino.

We were there when our grandchild started school. At the same time, another "larger" company was present, which I take as an excuse. Two meals were brought around 15 minutes after all the other meals - and only because of our request. When the food was brought, some guests were almost finished. When pointed out, it was only dismissed with a stupid grin. The schnitzels that were then served late were relatively small in my opinion and the breading was very dark - almost burnt, it was completely missing on one side. My daughter's schnitzel was also partially burned, so she couldn't eat some of it. For both dishes the side dishes were not according to the menu, you had the feeling that you had run out of fried potatoes and had to make up for it with fries. I would have expected at least an explanation or apology - nothing was heard of. Ordering an exclusive drink (apple spritzer!!!!) also takes over a quarter of an hour - and only upon request. As I said - there was a lot to do, but it was definitely not worth recommending, even if the taste of the food was okay.

We ate here spontaneously and were very satisfied, the staff is super friendly and open to a nice conversation. Highly recommended for a break.

Affordable yet quality. After some lesser experiences in Germany, this is another winner. Good burger with all the trimmings plus a well-cooked portion of fries for less than 14 euros. Excellent quality burger on a delicious fresh bun from the bakery. Good sauce... Recommended! And the location is also very beautiful, which is a bit of a surprise when you first drive through an industrial estate. The waiter was also very nice.

Today we were in the Old Fährhaus for the first time. The 80th birthday was celebrated. It was very nice there. The breakfast offering was very tasty and plentiful. I've never seen such a large selection. The view of the Weser is wonderful. 😎

Urgently in need of renovation, toilets terrible, everything is very outdated. It's a shame because the landscape is very beautiful right on the water and the cycle path leads directly past it, which many cyclists use to take a break. The price is too expensive for the ambience, breakfast costs over €20 per person with plates thrown together and the cutlery/knives are so old and worn that they aren't even enough to cut bread rolls. I wouldn't go there again.

We were there yesterday for my birthday dinner. It was our first time in the old ferry house, and we were more than positively impressed. An absolute gem right on the Weser! The breathtaking view combined with the warm and attentive service staff made our visit an unforgettable experience. My burger was simply sensational - juicy, tasty and perfectly prepared, the fries that went with it were simply delicious. My friend's grill plate was also convincing; every piece of meat was deliciously tender and full of flavor. A taste highlight in a fantastic setting - we'll definitely be back!

It's very nice to sit there and the staff is attentive. To charge €5 for some aioli with 3 slices of baguette and then when you ask if you can get some more bread to charge another €2 for another 3 small slices is outrageous

When we came with two couples at 6 p.m. on Saturday (we had made a reservation), the store was about 60% busy. We still had to wait longer than normal for someone to order (obviously for us there was 1 person at the drinks counter and 2 in service). It wasn't set, which was tolerable since the cutlery is brought to the meal after the order has been taken at the latest. Or so we thought. When the food came, without cutlery, we pointed it out. It then took another 1 minute for this to be brought. The fries served with the meal weren't even a child's portion size and were just warm enough. My friend had ordered extra bacon and fries with his burger. The fries are the same quantity and quality as mine. Cost an additional 3.80 euros!!!!! Bakon was forgotten and was added later (they were already curled). Tomatoes and onions were placed on the burger in pieces. Cucumbers in the form of sticks. Whoever likes it. Not my buddy! Me neither! The last thing was completely forgotten about my schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and braised onions. Unfortunately I didn't complain about that because I was shocked by the other supplement. My mistake. The side dish consisted of cucumber salad in a bowl and a large mixed side salad. Everything together with schnitzel and sauce on a plate. The cucumber salad was presentable and looked delicious. Something else was delicious. Likewise with the side salad (attempts to improve this with salt and pepper failed). Of course we complained. In the end, my friend didn't have to pay for the side dishes and got an espresso and everyone else got a shot on the house. My wife and I were allowed to pay in full! All in all, at least as far as dinner is concerned, not recommended!!!!! I have 20 years of experience in the catering industry (kitchen and service work) and know what I'm talking about.

The Mediterranean breakfast is good, unfortunately including coffee or tea at over 21 euros a bit expensive. Service is attentive and friendly. The selection of different rolls could be a little better.

I had schnitzel with fried potatoes and a fried egg. That doesn't sound that complicated at first... The fried potatoes were more like boiled potatoes in a Mediterranean spice and oil mixture. Neither crispy nor tasty. There was a whole lake of oil on the fried egg that you had to pour off before eating. But it fit quite well, so the fried potatoes stood out even more in the whole broth. The schnitzel was dry and also marinated with some Mediterranean spice mixture, unfortunately the taste was also a total failure. Schnitzel was also ordered at the neighboring table and the opinion of the food was identical, which was also communicated to the waitress. The location is really nice, the food, at least the schnitzel, was subpar. A meal costing just under €20 cannot be served. Urgent need for action in the kitchen... But the Hefeweizen was very good. 😀
