We unexpectedly ate here yesterday because we had an hour wait for the ferry. Food was served well in advance. They had a schnitzel menu and a BBQ hamburger menu. Empty plates for our little ones were no problem. The food was surprisingly delicious!

The food is simple but delicious, leaning more towards professional cuisine. It can also get quite busy sometimes... but it never disappoints!

Very nice location, near the parking lot and piers in BKS. Attentive service and excellent regional cuisine! Reservations are definitely recommended during peak season.

I ate here for the first time 15 years ago, and it was delicious. I've been back a few times since, and it's still good. But...last night...what a disappointment. I wanted the grilled chicken breast with herb butter and fries. They ran out of herb butter! No alternative was offered. When we got to dinner, I found spaghetti with gorgonzola sauce on my plate. The waiter saw it himself and said he'd exchange it. When I went back a little later, there was still some sauce on the chicken...yuck, and it was a chicken breast, so small. The small amount of lettuce (two bites) was also a disgrace...and that for €17.50. The waiter was a bit sarcastic about it. So, it was our last time. You leave with a half-full stomach.

We sat under a canopy with a great view of the Moselle. Our bikes were in full view. The tarte flambée and salad were very good. The waiter was friendly.

Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were kindly assigned a table. We had a great view of the Moselle. The food is freshly prepared and very good. We enjoyed it so much that we ate here again the next evening. Highly recommended.

Absolutely delicious food. The menu seems unassuming but the taste is delicious and leaves nothing to be desired. The waiters were extremely friendly and didn't let two small children bother them; they even welcomed them. Absolutely family-friendly. We'd be happy to go back!

The food served to us was very good. We had the ANB Burger with fries and the mushroom schnitzel with fries. Both were very tasty. Not frozen, but freshly prepared. The portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive. The beautiful view of the Moselle, despite the darkness, was very romantic. We will come back because it was simply excellent. Be sure to reserve a table in advance. Card payments are also accepted.

We (four people) were expecting "bistro cuisine." To our surprise, it was solid, good, home-style cooking with nothing to complain about. Drinks were excellent, and service was good and attentive, despite the crowds.

The food was really good, and the price was OK. Unfortunately, our waiter was uninterested. He only cleaned the table when we asked. What was unfortunately very negative was that they served a really bad (cheap) Williams Obstler. That should be better in a restaurant like this. The waiter responded to our criticism by saying we should just write a bad review. I've done that now.

A tourist trap. Bad food, including maggots in the salad. Inconsistency on the menu regarding gluten-free content. If you are allergic to gluten, don't go there, the staff has no idea what is in the food. My salad with ham and cheese - the worst food ever

Even at 3pm this restaurant was still bustling with diners. We took note from those around us and ordered the Flammkuchen and it did not disappoint! It’s here I also fell in love with Spundekas cheese. It was evident that this is mostly occupied by Germans and while they spoke very little English they did have a translated menu and assisted where they could. We also had a shrimp skewer which was our least favourite dish. This was the busiest restaurant in town, deservingly so. We would come back here in a heartbeat, great view over the river with great food.

We're spending our vacation in Andeln. We went to the old train station for dinner. Unfortunately, we left after 22 minutes. The wait staff must have overlooked us. 😀😀😀😀

Ate here during our visit to Bernkastel Kues. The schnitzels were delicious and the chairs were also comfortable. What did bother us was the bell that rings every time the chef has prepared a dish for the staff to pick up. Otherwise a great place to have lunch, the cake looked delicious too!

Good food at an upper mid-range price

Four of us stayed in Bernkastel for six nights. We ate here three evenings. We enjoyed the food. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and attentive. The view is inviting. Parking is very convenient. I definitely recommend it.

We are spending our vacation in Wehlen. In the evenings, we love cycling to the Old Moselle Train Station. The staff is friendly and attentive to guests. The food is impeccably hygienic, very tasty, and plentiful. The food and drink selection is very extensive and varied. We really enjoy eating here. The value for money is reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for uncomplicated and delicious food.

Visited the Alter Moselbahnhof this week. We had tarte flambée with Gorgonzola and Palatinate Saumagen (sausage stomach) with Winzergräwes (wine-making gravy). It was absolutely delicious, we'd go back anytime. Friendly service. A definite 5 stars

We ate there at 5 p.m. on April 29, 2025. My husband had a burger and I had tarte flambée, we didn't drink any alcohol. The FOOD initially makes a good impression. When we arrived at the hotel in the evening we both felt sick, we vomited several times during the night and had diarrhea. Over the course of the night I developed a headache, body aches and chills. Oh, we still feel pretty bad the next day. It's a shame 😢 the assumption that it was the food is obvious. We are writing to you so that you can check your hygiene concept.

Free use of the toilet, but what slow service. Staff walk by and wait until you have viewed the entire menu. If you only buy a coffee, you can only pay in cash after another long wait.

Ate here for the 2nd time and it was excellent again! Nice on the terrace with a lovely sun. First delicious potato garlic soup and then a mash from grandma with a liver pot, sausages and a smoked piece of meat. Then a cappuccino with a piece of chocolate cake. My wife had a Flamküche of the day and it was also delicious. Cosy, friendly and cheerful staff! Great experience again for a reasonable price despite the beautiful location! Until next time.

A very nice location. Unfortunately, our expectations of the food were rather disappointed. The chicken breast was as dead as Elvis.

Wir waren am 1. März dort, der erste Tag nach der Winterpause. Trotzdem hat alles hervorragend funktioniert, der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und das Essen sehr gut. Sehr gute Auswahl an Gerichten, auch aus der heimischen Küche (Oma Elisabeth), kleine, aber feine Auswahl an offenen Weinen. Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir gleich am nächsten Tag noch einmal hingegangen sind. Auch die Atmosphäre und der Blick auf die Mosel sind klasse Sehr empfehlenswert!

Great value for money, very good and friendly service

There was really nothing to complain about in terms of quality, service or prices. Fresh, delicious cakes and the exceptionally good apple strudel was definitely absolutely fresh and not purchased. Where is this still available today? Great service. Good advice - and the prices are good too. A point deducted because the ventilation could be improved. By chance, 3 or 4 currywursts were consumed in the restaurant at the same time. The air smelling of currywurst was massive in the room. Not so pleasant with cake.

Tip top shop. Went there especially from Trier. Come back in summer

Unfortunately, there is no consistently warm food, even though it is advertised that way outside. Were there on a Friday afternoon. Thank you for the explanation. But we were explicitly informed by an employee that the kitchen was on “break” and that there were only cold dishes and warm dishes only after 5:00 p.m.

We were in Bernkastel in the 28th week of 2022. The restaurant “Alter Moselbahnhof” is very clean right down to the toilets. Staff and restaurant manager friendly and accommodating, logistically well managed and the menu has something for everyone. Prices are reasonable (low) for good portions that are also presented very nicely to the eye. Quality and taste good to very good. If the restaurant SOOO continues to operate, the future should be completely secured. Thank you so much that something like this still exists. Everything just fits together. If we go on holiday in Bernkastel for the fifth time, we will definitely visit the Old Moselle Station again. We were also in Bernkastel in 2023 and 2024 and dined again at the Old Moselbahnhof. Nothing has changed from my initial rating...it remains 5 stars.

Horrible service!! Arrived just after 2pm. Ordering drinks took forever. There is no indication that the card is only valid until 2:30 p.m. Drinks were brought at 2:28 p.m. and when we wanted to order food we were abruptly told: it was too late, the cooks were on break now. Went there as a family with 3 children. Impossible, had to leave without being able to eat. Unfriendly service. Don't want to order food?? Were very disappointed. Explain this to your children who were hungry!!

We had a very good dinner with 6 people. The service staff was very friendly, fast, reliable. The meals were very rich and very tasty: Spundekäse with bread and fresh onions, 2x tarte flambée, 2x burgers, the veggiburger in particular was very delicious, spaghetti with plenty of king prawns, salad as a side dish and a tomato soup and a schnitzel. You sit very comfortably with a view of the Moselle and the excursion boats. We'd love to come back.

The best steak I've had in a long time. Super seasoned and perfectly fried. (Medium rare) Kudos for that. The staff is extremely friendly and the dog is allowed too.

The Old Moselle Railway Station is highly recommended! The restaurant is located directly on the water (approx. 25m away) and invites you to enjoy delicious wine and food.
