Alter Kornspeicher in Erwitte

We spontaneously stopped here for one night in our motorhome and stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. Everything from beer to espresso was delicious. We'd love to come back 😊.

If I lived here, I'd quickly go broke. Super delicious food, extremely friendly and attentive service. Great ambiance inside and out. I'd love to take the pepper cream sauce home in jars. I travel a lot for work, but this restaurant is in my top 5. Good value for money, it's nice to drop a few euros here. Chapeau, keep up the good work.

We were there with eight people, and everyone was very satisfied. Parking is scarce.

We ate at the Kornspeicher a few days ago during our wellness weekend in Bad Westernkotten. With good weather and even without a reservation, we received a warm welcome and were able to sit outside. We ordered creamed mushroom schnitzel and Kornspeicher pan and were very satisfied. The staff was friendly, enthusiastic, and did a great job. When it started to rain lightly, it was no problem at all to quickly move to a seat in the cozy interior. Thank you for the lovely evening.

Very good food. There were four of us, and we can wholeheartedly agree with the positive comments. We've rarely had such a good schnitzel in the area! The homemade caramel ice cream is also highly recommended!

Friendly service, they didn't show any stress and came to every table with a smile. It was packed. The food came out of the kitchen very quickly. The meat quality was excellent, the cake slices were huge, and the sauce was clearly homemade, very tasty. The fries and rösti were also very tasty. Not homemade, but upon asking, they were able to tell us the manufacturer. Very tasty. There was nothing to complain about, and that's the highest level of compliment in Germany. Prices were extremely reasonable. A schnitzel plate with two large schnitzels and a large salad for €17.90. Perfect. Our first visit here. We'd be happy to come back. The beer garden is a great place to sit. Huge parasols cover almost every seat. There's one minor issue: the chairs are a bit too low, or rather, the tables a bit too high. For older, smaller seniors, the table edges are at chest height. The tables about 3 cm lower would be perfect, and the chairs would also fit under the table. Just a tip for your next purchase. Otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect. Keep it up, and don't scare away the friendly staff. 😊

A very nice location in picturesque Bad Westerkotten. Traditional cuisine with good taste and generous portions, plus very attentive service. All in all, the Kornspeicher is a very good choice, especially when the weather is nice and you can dine outside in the garden.

I was in the bar for about 30 minutes and had a beer. The summer terrace is really nice and very pleasant. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the beer was delicious. One small detail: a 0.5 liter of beer cost €5.60 – that's a bit on the high side.

Excellent service and excellent food. A welcome change from the more rustic local fare! Fair prices and a great atmosphere. The location is a successful blend of rustic half-timbering and a modern glass extension in the heart of Bad Westernkotten's park.

Four of us had lunch in the beautifully maintained outdoor area. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. Everyone was very satisfied.

A pleasant location on the edge of Bad Westernkotten's spa gardens. In sunny weather, you can find a shady spot on the spacious outdoor terrace to sample something from the small but exquisite menu. I had the salmon tarte flambée. It was delicious, with a nice crispy crust and generously topped with salmon and spinach. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Unfortunately, there was a wedding there, and we were told the food wouldn't arrive for an hour. But we stopped in for a drink on our way back. Very friendly team.

We visited Bad Westerkotten. The food was delicious. The tarte flambée was also visually stunning.

Nothing to complain about with the food. Great value for money, taste really good...I would only deduct one point for the cleanliness of the toilets (cobwebs everywhere and rather wet floors) and the noise, especially in the conservatory. But I would definitely go back.

Spontaneously stopped by for dinner with 4 adults + a small child. When the weather is nice, it's great to sit outside. Food came to the table unexpectedly quickly - without exception it tasted great. Service was super friendly, again at any time!

We wanted to eat in the old Korn Speicher today. That's why we called at 6 p.m. to book a table. We were told outside would not be possible. We should come like this, that would be okay. When we arrived at 7 p.m. we sat down at a free table. After about 30 seconds the service came and said the kitchen was sold out and they had no more food. So we couldn't eat at your place today. I think this is unacceptable for a catering business like this. Normal opening hours are until 10 p.m. There was no information on the outside that no longer served guests. So unfortunately we weren't able to test the food, which was a shame.

Here you can sit outside in the sun or up the stairs. The food was always good, the service was very nice. We like to be here when we are in Bad Westernkotten. Go there, it's worth visiting and discovering the beautiful health resort.

Very tasty food. Large portions. Super nice staff. Good prices. Really recommended! It's best to reserve in advance. Update on April 23, 2025: After the change to the new owner, the food (chicken breast fillet poor quality, very watery) and ambience as well as friendliness (the young blonde lady seems to have never learned to smile) are rather average and the prices are much too high compared to other restaurants. Things used to be much better...

Just had a very tasty meal. A great plate language, the service is bubbling with energy. Highly recommended !! Quality and taste is top, keep it up! We'll be back!!!

We were here for Valentine's Day and treated ourselves to a 3-course menu. The old granary is highly recommended in every respect! Food was super tasty and friendly, courteous and attentive staff.

Tonight we had a great dinner in the old granary. Tomato soup, salad with chicken, baked potatoes and especially delicious: the mushroom cream schnitzel. The service was very attentive. In terms of ambience, only four stars because it was very loud at times. Otherwise: absolutely recommended.

Highly recommended! The combination of an old half-timbered house with a modern extension similar to a winter garden is obviously the motto here. The combination of old and new is evident not only in the offerings on the menu, but also in the very polite and friendly staff. The charm of the old house with its natural wooden beams that are connected with old craftsmanship and the newer extension with an almost unobstructed view of the outside invite you to linger. The small but nice card put a smile on my face! Here too, modern and old food, which reminds me of grandma, are wonderfully coordinated. I will definitely come here again. Before I forget. A telephone call to make a reservation, stating the people taking part and the time at which they would like to eat their meal, would be very appropriate and sensible. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to view because I forgot the canvas and tubes of paint in my room.

Delicious food, attentive service, value for money

We ate there two days in a row. We were warmly welcomed and served nicely. The service is great and the food was beyond delicious. The portions were filling and more than enough. Only to recommend.

We had a great evening there. Out of season, just before Christmas, the people were very friendly and let us take part in their everyday life. That's just how you get into the story. Apart from that, a nice shop with good food... Absolute recommendation 👍

We wanted to eat at the Granary and had booked a table for 6 p.m. After we arrived there at 5:55 p.m. we were assigned a table and brought the menu. Since the waitress ignored us for 20 minutes even though she was serving at the next table, we left.

We were there for dinner with 6 people and waited 1.5 hours for the food. Everyone who came after us got their food before us. The food only came after repeated requests; the tarte flambées were no longer warm, only the toppings were. They apologized, but they could have at least offered us a drink or a small ice cream as an apology. What went wrong is inexplicable to us. But we won't be coming back because we were all very dissatisfied.

We had to wait over 90 minutes for the food we ordered. Other visitors who came after us were served before us. The food was a bit blandly seasoned. To do this, you have to pack your own leftover food. I've never experienced it in any other restaurant. Too bad

Die Ofenkartoffel mit Kräuterquark war lecker zubereitet; aber der dazugehörige Salat hatte an den Schnittstellen braune Ränder. Also nicht frisch geschnitten sondern schon etwas älter. Die Salatsauce war sehr lecker und die Kartoffel auch.

Very tasty food at fair prices. Nice facility. Even though we came spontaneously without a reservation, they made it possible for us to eat. There is a nice outdoor area. On the second day we ate there again and unfortunately the schnitzel was greasier. The in-house salad dressing was fantastic, but the recipe is kept top secret 😉

Nice restaurant, well furnished, very nice beer garden. We didn't like the food, so I sent half of it back. When we complained, the waitress gave a stupid answer: "The others liked it" and that was the case with him Price. We are often in Bad Westernkotten, but will go to this restaurant avoid.

We ate 2* in old granary. Matjes with fried potatoes, cream schnitzel with mushrooms, granary mushroom pan, tarte flambée Alsace. All dishes were delicious, the side salad was great. The young staff is very friendly and efficient. Maybe you overlook a little thing, so that you first get the food and then the cutlery, but it follows quickly and charmingly and we all had to learn and do one or two extra things. The food is really good 👍 Compliments to the kitchen. Iced tea from Rauch is always a good choice. The service was friendly but a bit unprofessional (a bit too relaxed and more concerned with my colleagues than with the restaurant, but maybe I'm just getting too old.) The ambience is really nice but unclean. Old half-timbered structure meets modern winter garden. Which was also beautifully implemented. Lots of spider webs, in the corners and decoration. The covers on some chairs were hanging loose. The drinking bowl for the four-legged friends is green with algae, so it's better not to put one up.

Very nice and quiet atmosphere. The food and drinks ordered were good and the portions were decent. The service was very friendly, but also a bit overwhelmed (the wrong cyclist size and we had to ask twice for the cutlery😅). Most of them still seemed very young, so they just have to learn first. Overall, we were very satisfied and can recommend the granary.

The old granary in Erwitte exudes a cozy charm. The half-timbered house with a glass extension offers a pleasant ambience both in the rustic interior and on the terrace. However, from the outside the restaurant looks a bit larger than it actually is inside. Food and drinks: The menu offers a nice selection of dishes. All the dishes are very tasty, but they are in the slightly higher price segment, which is usual for a health resort. Service: The staff at the Old Granary is friendly and direct. Questions are answered quickly and competently. Criticism: A small point of criticism is the fact that the kitchen closes at 8 p.m. Unfortunately, when we visited around 8 p.m. there was only one portion of schnitzel left. However, this was very good! Conclusion: The Alte Kornspeicher is a recommended restaurant in Erwitte with a cozy atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service. Only the early closing times of the kitchen could be a problem for one or two guests. Additive: Price: slightly increased Reservation recommended few parking spaces available Recommendation: For anyone looking for a cozy restaurant with delicious food and friendly service. Ideal for a romantic dinner or a convivial dinner with friends.
