Alte Schule in Neustadt am Rübenberge

Die "Alte Schule" ist recht nett eingerichtet. Es gibt alte Schultafeln und einen Lehrer Lempel. Man sitzt gut im inneren Bereich und auch im Biergarten. Soweit so gut. Aber 10 Eur für eine Portion Bruschetta, bestehend aus 3 Scheiben Brot mit je ca. 5 cm Durchmesser und wenig klein geschnittene Tomaten mit etwas an Gurkengarnitur sind absolut nicht angemessen. Darüber hinaus ist die Kellnerin nicht sehr freundlich. Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder...

Schönes Restaurant mit behaglichem Ambiente. Freundliches Personal ! Essen lecker zu guten Preisen & Portionen. Liegt zwar abseits aber der Abstecher hat sich gelohnt. Deko in Wilhelm Busch Ambiente.

Der Tipp am Steinhuder Meer, familiäres Ambiete, vom Betreiber bis Personal aufmerksam und freundlich. Garnelen, die wirklich welche sind, einfach klasse und dazu einen Aperol. In diesem Biergarten ein gefühlter Urlaubstag. Bitte weiter so. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Wir haben zu zweit unkompliziert einen Tisch ohne Anmeldung bekommen und wurden durch die tatsächlich alte Schule gelozt. Das Essen war super lecker und auch sättigend. Es gab für mein Gericht keine Schrimps mehr, dafür hab es Riesengarnelen plus Anleitung und Vorführung wie man diese isst. Ein super Erlebnis mit der nettesten Bedienung.

Nette humorvolle sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir hatten beide ein Schweinerückensteak mit Bratkartoffeln. Sehr gute Fleischqualität zart und mager. Im Biergarten haben wir gemütlich gesessen. Gerne wieder.

Das Essen war das Geld nicht wert. Bei den Rinderrouladen war wohl die Sauße gekippt und das Fleisch war nicht als Roulade erkennbar, keine Entschuldigung und den Mehrpreis vom nächsten Gericht wollte man auch noch haben (gab es natürlich nicht). Der Nachschub an Getränken war eher schleppend. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Sehr schönes Restaurant das an allen Ecken mit liebevollen Details an die frühere Schule erinnert. Service und Koch sehr freundlich, besser geht es nicht. Wir hatten Matjes mit Bratkartoffeln mit sehr lecker Sauce, nur zu empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder!!!

Wir sind spontan nach einer Golfrunde in der Alten Schule eingekehrt. Super freundlicher Service, kleine, aber feine Speisekarte und leckere Essen haben uns äußerst positiv überrascht. Das war richtig gut! Danke!

Wir waren dort vor ein paar Tagen essen und wir hatten das leckerste Spargel essen seit langem, Service, Ambiente und Preis Leistung alles super hier und sehr zu empfehlen!

Ich als Erzieherin habe die Kinder dahinter bildlich gesehen;-) + Die Dekoration nach Schulhaus mit Max & Moritz war schön * * * Doch: - Nach Getränke-Karte mussten wir extra fragen; - Das Essen war Lauwarm, obwohl der Teller Heiss war. - Die Atmosphäre war sehr unruhig. - Speisen wurden einfach verändert, ohne Vorankündigung! Geht gar nicht, schon im Hinblick auf Allergien/ Unverträglichkeiten. Man wählt ja bewusst; - Der Koch muss sehr verliebt sein, mit Essig und Salz wurde nicht gespart. FAZIT: Zum Trinken im Biergarten geeignet, nicht zum schön Essen gehen. Dafür stimmt einfach das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

Für ein Restaurant in einem touristisch geprägten Ort mit entsprechendem Preisniveau waren die Erwartungen höher als das, was geboten wurde. Gutes Fleisch und gepflegtes Ambiente, aber deutliche Schwächen bei Organisation und Kommunikation – etwa ungefragte Änderungen am Gericht und lauwarme Beilagen

Super Laden. Toller Koch der sich beim Problemen wie Allergien Zeit nimmt um mit dem Kunden am Tisch alles abzuklären. Super nette, freundliche und sympathische Bedienung. Preise total gerechtfertigt für das Essen obwohl die Preise nicht hoch sind. Kommen so oft es geht wieder.

Wir sind heute Mittag hier kurzfristig und ungeplant eingekehrt. Die Currywurst war unerwartet lang, aber dafür leider eine Brühwurst und keine Bratwurst. Das Schnitzel war super mega lecker, sehr zart und knusprig. Auch die Pommes waren in beiden Fällen Klasse.

Das gibt es viel zu selten !! Selbs gebackene Kuchen, 1A, die Inhaberin steht dort selbst, mit Ihrem Projekt, Mode, Kuchen, Stehcafe. und auch 20 Minuten vor der Öffnungszeit wurden wir als Gästr freundlichst hereingebeten.... Mardorf ist nicht ums Eck... wir kommen wieder

Mit Freunden gehen wir dort regelmäßig essen. Das Ambiente ist super und auch das Personal sehr nett. Besonders schön ist, dass ich unsere Dalmatinerin mitnehmen darf und sie dort inzwischen von allen begeistert empfangen wird. Wenn der Hund dabei sein darf ist der Abend doppelt schön!

Ich habe mich so unglaublich wohl gefühlt.Das Essen war ein Traum und die Bedienung war seeehr nett.Das Ambiente ist gemütlich und das Konzept (Alte Schule) ist auch im Resteraunt gut umgesetzt.

Zu doof, oder zu faul ihre Website up-to-date zu halten. Nicht mal ein Schild an der Tür! Wenn man dann anruft, gibt es nur blöde Sprüche a-la 'Aber wir haben doch ab Mittwoch auf'. Ja nee is klar, dafür fahre ich an einem Sonntag über 1h extra dort hin (nach vermeintlich erfolgreichem web-check) um dann 3 Tage vor der Tür zu warten, ... oder was!?! Sarcasm off.

Sehr freundliche Bedienung und der Koch kommt auch persönlich raus und erkundigt sich. Meine beiden Hunde haben Hundekekse bekommen. :) Sehr leckeres Essen

Uriges Restaurant im Stile einer alten Schule. Der Service war sehr freundlich, das Essen kam schnell und hat hervorragend geschmeckt. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt, gut gegessen und können dieses Restaurant daher wärmstens weiterempfehlen. 🙂

Das Ambiente fanden wir sehr schön. Der Service war auch sehr freundlich. Wir hoffen nur, dass sich die Damen auch die Hände gewaschen haben, nachdem sie draußen geraucht haben. Das Essen war okay. Wir haben schon deutlich besser gegessen.

I think Mr. Philip Tilhein didn't understand that these statements were submitted by children from another school, whose principal was a guest at the Old School. These were answers to questions from children at the school long ago and should be considered a textbook. Thank you.

A lovely restaurant halfway around Lake Steinhude. Highly recommended!

There's a book there containing "jokes" about children. The first saying is: It's better to adopt children, then you can at least choose their behavior. The derogatory comments about children become so bad that I don't want to explain them here. It was also immediately clear that children weren't welcome here. I hope this comment doesn't get deleted, because it really was true. I find it tasteless.

A quiet spot to relax. Excellent coffee. Very friendly service. It wasn't crowded.

We were in the beer garden and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and really good food. As the name suggests, it's the old school in Mardorf. In the beer garden, you can see the other old buildings in Mardorf and really enjoy the ambiance. We received very good service, professional, polite, and courteous. The food was truly top-notch and highly recommended. The rump steak with pepper sauce was a real treat. No frills, no nonsense, not too little, not too much. Just a good piece of meat, a great sauce, and fried potatoes. DONE! My wife had the salmon with tagliatelle and was also very impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

A some what large restaurant that we came across while walking in mardorf, our waiter was super nice and accepted the fact that my german level is pretty bad, the food itself was pretty good I'd recommend the lachs any day, would come here again on another trip one day 🌸

The restaurant only accepts debit cards, not credit cards. Given that this place attracts tourists from all over Germany, as well as foreign tourists, this is unacceptable service that should definitely be improved.

Great ambiance and very fast and friendly service. Unfortunately, our food couldn't live up to that. The burger and cole slaw were bland, and the baked potatoes were overcooked (microwave?). We probably just chose the wrong dishes; the schnitzel and pasta at the next table looked fresh and delicious, and the guests confirmed this.

My wife's fish was excellent. I ordered a medium-rare beef steak; the first one was well done. I received a re-cooked one, which was not as cooked as the first, but the meat was just as tough. I was allowed to keep my side dishes from the first dish. On the plus side, the chef himself came back to the table.

We were there on our bikes over Ascension Day. If you don't have high expectations, the rooms are perfectly fine. The basics are provided. The food in the restaurant is good 👍. The breakfast, however, exceeded everything! Every wish was fulfilled! Great!👍 We'll be back!

Very disappointing visit. Poor kitchen staff skills – almost inedible.

We went there with the whole family in 2023 for the Christmas buffet. The bill was paid by the parents. When I saw it at home, I noticed that my 3-year-old nephew had been charged the children's rate and the "senior parents" the regular rate. I wrote to the restaurant owner, and he apologized and said he would correct these errors after his vacation (until the beginning of January 2024). Since then, however, nothing has happened, and he hasn't responded to emails or a request via the contact form. I find this very unfortunate.😔 Mistakes can happen, but not correcting them as promised and not following up is completely unacceptable.☹️

We had the Pie mal Thumb and the trip to Pelworm. Both dishes were very tasty. The side salad was also delicious. The atmosphere around teacher Lempel is very dignified. All in all: absolutely recommended.

It's OK. Currywurst is great in terms of taste and price, the baked potato cost 20 euros... you wonder why. Otherwise a simple charm with a nice atmosphere.

Good food in a dignified atmosphere.

It was supposed to be a lovely evening, which was unfortunately marred by the food. It was bland, the vegetables lacked flavor, the pared meat was not seasoned. The lettuce was so roughly shredded that you had to use a knife. That's a real shame because that Staff was very attentive, liked the ambience. Therefore will not be coming back. Too bad.

That was my best restaurant visit in a long time. The staff cannot be beaten in terms of friendliness and humor 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. The ambience is super nice and the food is in a class of its own 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. I would love to come back 🥰.

Went there for a cafe drink in the beer garden. Very friendly service - unfortunately no cake on offer anymore. Incomprehensible to me. During the time we were there, at least 8 guests asked for cake... There were times when the legendary chocolate roll from the cake manufacturer v opposite... What a shame

I ate there for the first time with my wife on a recommendation. To start we had bruschetta. My wife had pork medallions with ribbon noodles and gorgonzola sauce, I had a pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and champion cream sauce. Both had a large and a small Coke. In the end we paid a little over €60. But: The extremely friendly staff was priceless. The waitress really “lived” her job. A very big compliment. And even the owner and head chef took the time to welcome us. The ambience lives up to the name: old school. But that doesn't mean it's shabby, just that everything was very well maintained and clean. We will keep the place as an insider tip and will definitely come back. A real experience. Thank you for the hospitality.

Super nice, funny service, whether we just wanted to drink something in the beer garden or eat something in the restaurant. She was always in a good mood and had a funny anecdote ready. The ambience of the old school is brilliant, you would think teacher Lämpel is coming around the corner. The school history books including ancient pictures of the community are also very interesting. Thank you for the super nice time with you.

Both inside - here the restaurant lives up to the name "Alte Schule" - and behind the house in the beer garden on the square between brick buildings there is a lovely atmosphere. Small but balanced card in which the theme of "school" is also reflected in a creative way. The service was great. The food was attractively prepared and tasted great, solid cuisine with a little room for improvement.

Very cozy exceptional place to dine.

We spontaneously went to eat here with our 2 year old daughter. Got a seat outside straight away. Service was very friendly. The food was very tasty, I had something vegetarian that the waitress recommended because I asked for pasta with gorgonzola and vegetables and I was very satisfied, very fresh and very tasty, my husband had the one with pork fillet and he also said that it tasted excellent. The children's menu was also very varied. So you can definitely recommend the restaurant. Keep it up!!!

Delicious food paired with very friendly service and a great ambience. Small point of criticism: the Gorgonzola in the pasta sauce could be stronger. But that is a matter of taste and cannot stand in the way of the 5* rating.

We stopped at the old school on a bike tour and ate and drank in the beer garden. I ordered the salmon rolls with salad and was super satisfied. Really well topped with salmon and seasoned with a fine mustard/dill sauce. There was also cold beer :) . What more could you want on a bike tour ;) . The beer garden was very nice and the young storks were clattering on a nearby building.

Hello, I can definitely advise against the schnitzel, deep fried in old oil the sauce is a disaster, the cheese sauce is muddied with something, the Champions sauce with Champions from the can has no taste at all. Staff very nice.

We were in the beer garden with 4 people based on word of mouth. Ordered ice cream, it was the cheapest mass-produced product, unappetizing... Ordered extra cream... it wasn't available, the dispensed one came from the dispenser, I probably got the rest from the can, so it wasn't the icing on the cake, but rather an unsightly, loveless, tasteless leftover crumble . The service staff was friendly but outside the industry, a course would improve everything by far. Location is pleasantly rustic, but no merit from the local. We don't go hungry, but a la cart food prices are in the upper range. It would have to be tested, but not by me. I am not amused.

I was there as a speaker at an annual general meeting. It was very tight in the room, but otherwise it was definitely very comfortable. The people and service were very nice and quick.

There could have been 3 more fried potatoes with the 3 fried eggs. But how were they supposed to know that we were really hungry after walking around the sea...Otherwise it was totally ok!

The Old School is always our first stop when we are in Mardorf and has been since 2002. This time we were there with 5 adults and 2 small children. As always, we received a very friendly welcome and toys and art supplies were immediately brought out for the children. As always, the food was great and super tasty. We will come back in any case. Was our third visit in 7 years. The ambience is the same as at the beginning, but the tenants have changed and the food is only average. Unfortunately, the charm of the early years is fading.

We haven't encountered anything so unfriendly in a long time... Friendly asked the lady behind the counter for a voucher (breakfast for two). Was immediately contacted: “Definitely not today! Come back sometime.” In the same breath, "Breakfast is only available if the hotel has breakfast, because I don't make extra breakfast for two people..." Thanks for the friendly conversation. We would rather give away a voucher for another café/restaurant.

Nett umgebaute Schule, muss man mögen als Restaurant. Auch wenn man Personalmangel hat sollte noch Zeit sein, dass im Restaurant keine Spinnweben und deren Bewohner in den Fensterbänken beim Esstisch sind. Zu unseren Gerichten gabe es Kartoffeln. Wir hatten höflich gefragt ob die Bratkartoffeln kross sind die Bedienung sagte ja die sind kross. Daraufhin sagten wir wenn sie kross sind möchten wir Bratkartoffeln zu unseren Speisen bestellen. Daraufhin sagte die Bedienung ja ok. Man stellte uns die Teller hin und ging. Enttäuscht waren wir über die "Bratkartoffeln" denn sie waren überhaupt nicht kross, sahen eher aus wie geschnittene Kartoffeln einmal kurz durch die Pfanne geschewenkt und schmeckten auch so. Beim bezahlen sprachen wir die Bedienung darauf an und sagten das wir krosse Bratkartoffeln bestellt hatten. Man sollte seine Gäste bei einer Umbestellung über ggf. einen Aufpreis informieren wenn es schon nicht in der Speisekarte steht selbst bei 1,50 € pro Portion die wir trotz Reklamation bezahlen mussten.
