Only visited restaurant. Parking spaces are in short supply. Background noise in the restaurant was very high. For the price level we would have expected more than ready-made breading on the schnitzel..

There were three of us in this restaurant today and we each ordered a main course. After half an hour the waiter asked what we had ordered. When the food was served, there were king prawns instead of pork cheeks. I had the choice of either eating together, which was important to me personally, or insisting on the right food. Unfortunately I decided on the shrimp. You could eat it, but it wasn't a treat for the palate. There was then a schnapps or a coffee on the house. Not a word of apology and was charged full price for the more expensive dish. It's human that a mistake happens, but the way it was handled was not appropriate, especially since the waiter must have noticed that the shrimps weren't well received. We won't be coming back here even though the rest of the food was good.

Very pleasant outdoor space almost in the center of Grossbottwar. Courteous service. reasonable prices, good dishes. The rooms are spacious, large bathroom, everything is very clean. Any time.

Centrally located in Großbottwar. Nice restaurant with good Swabian cuisine. Breakfast buffet 👍. Rooms easily accessible by elevator or stairs. Bright, spacious, good facilities. Small negative point, no fridge.

It would be great if you put someone there who can cut hair properly like a normal hairdresser.

We were just there to eat. Service very good. Atmosphere appealing. But on a thoroughfare, not so great when the weather outside is good. Food ok, but nothing more. I would strongly recommend that the kitchen prepare a cordon bleu the way it needs to be prepared. Meat much too thin, a few shreds of ham and then with Camembert (yes, I know, it says so on the menu), which liquefies and makes everything soggy. The asparagus with schnitzel? Asparagus with schnitzel. Price-performance not OK. We won't be coming back.

The Alte Schmiede is a very attractive restaurant.

We were there to eat, I think it was too expensive for the price/performance ratio. I had ordered a medium roast, but unfortunately it was cut too thin and was therefore cooked. My wife had asparagus with 2 tiny pork medallions. Both dishes cost well over €30 each, unfortunately not appropriate for the quantity and quality. Unfortunately not worth a second visit for us.

We held our registry office dinner in the old forge and were more than thrilled. We were able to discuss table decorations and the menu in advance and really choose everything we wanted, from the type of meat, side dishes to the wonderful dessert. The food was excellent and we only received good feedback from the guests, and the service was always attentive and friendly. Everything is just right - I can only recommend it to everyone!

Good hotel in Grossbrootwar. Spotless, brand new and very large rooms. The service is impeccable. The internal restaurant is excellent for lovers of typical German cuisine. Breakfast is both continental and English. Prices are modest and value for money is very high. The town is quiet and immersed in the green German countryside. Excellent experience.

Simply super delicious food! Very nice terrace where you really enjoy eating in great weather. Service very friendly helpful does a great job. We're always happy to come back!

The food was very good and the service was attentive, friendly and quick. The only problem was finding a parking space.

The accommodation in the room was excellent. However, the internet connection left a lot to be desired and proved to be almost unusable, which does not meet expectations given the quoted price. A reliable WiFi should be a given in this price category and is not a major cost factor. A parking space was also promised in the description, but when I arrived I discovered that you had to look for a parking space yourself. This was particularly difficult because the associated restaurant was very busy, meaning valuable time was lost looking for a parking space.

Were here for dinner, the employees were very friendly, orders were brought to the table very quickly and the food was delicious, so conclusion: The restaurant is highly recommended and I personally recommend trying out the menu!

Spacious, well-equipped rooms, only the shaggy carpet causes deductions, good, rich food, attentive service.

Yesterday I had dinner with a friend at the Alte Schmiede. When you enter, you immediately notice the forge. The food was good. I had the Schwabenspieß culinary delights (€20.80). The Old Smithy is comfortably furnished.

Had a very nice room. Friendly staff Dining room was quite cold...breakfast...hardly any choice...

Warmes Ambiente, war schön weihnachtlich geschmückt. Sehr gastfreundliches Personal. Schnelle und gute Bewirtung. Super gute Bedienung bei über 20 Personen. Die Champion Creme Suppe war wirklich lecker.

Wir (4) waren am 01.11. zum ersten Mal in der Alten Schmiede zum Mittagessen. Obwohl wir keinen Tisch reserviert hatten bekamen wir noch einen. Sehr ansprechendes Ambiente, flinke und aufmerksame Servicekräfte und ein hervorragendes Essen (Schweinebäckchen, Schweinemedailions, Schnitzel). Aber nicht nur das Fleisch, sondern auch die Beilagen (Spätzle bzw. Pommes) waren sehr gut. Der Salatteller als Beilage schmeckte ebenfalls hervorragend. Es hat uns sehr gut gefalle und wir haben vor auf jeden Fall vor noch einmal wiederzukommen.

Wirklich tolles Ambiente, super Gastfreundlich, die Abstände zwischen Vorspeise & Hauptspeise super, Bewirtung super, Regionale Weine, also top wirklich. Das Essen kam bei allen Zeitgleich, wir sind wirklich super bedient wurden. Preis/Leistung wirklich super, keine Massen auf dem Teller, aber man wird mehr als satt. Hausgemacht Spätzle, sehr lecker. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Wir können es nur Empfehlen, waren schon öfter da und wirklich immer wieder aufs neue super Lecker und top Service. Macht weiter so…

Wir hatten für 10 Personen einen Tisch reserviert und kamen letztlich mit 13 Personen. Obwohl das Restaurant sehr gut besucht war wurde es ermöglicht alle Personen zu bewirten. So stelle ich mir Service am Kunden/Gast vor, so wird es leidenschaftlich betrieben. Superfreundliche „Gastgeber“, hervorragendes mit viel Liebe und Fachverstand zubereitetes auf dem Teller bzw. in der Terrine. Große Weinkarte mit regionalen guten Sorten. Gemütlicher Charakter der Gaststube, Aussenbereich ideal. Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen👍 Volker Strohmaier und seinem Team weiterhin viele, liebenswerte Gäste.

Sehr leckeres Essen, selbstgemachte Spätzle( hervorragend). Man wird von der Portion mehr als satt. Die Bedienung ein Traum.
