We stayed at the old Mirow Castle Brewery over the turn of the month from October to November. The hotel has a fantastic location right on Lake Mirow. The rooms are spacious and stylishly furnished, and the view of the lake is simply stunning. The restaurant in the historic vaulted cellar is very stylish and cozy. The menu is excellent and extensive, catering to all tastes. We enjoyed the fish platter with a good wine. The service was always attentive and very friendly. With friends, we attended the evening event in the historic Knights' Cellar. It was a wonderful evening with great food and a fantastic comedy show, "Magic in the Vault," featuring "Magic Rainer"! We highly recommend a visit; it was a great and fun evening that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Today we were in Mirow with our women's group at the castle and the old castle brewery, where we met Mr. Smentek. He spontaneously told us a lot about the castle and the brewery. It was very interesting! The visit to the vaulted cellar and the explanations were also very informative. Afterwards we went to the old castle brewery for dinner, which was delicious! And a beautiful restaurant with very friendly staff. Many thanks again to Mr. Smentek, and I'll pass on his greetings to Kippenheim.

We often visit Mirow for vacation. Fishing, playing with the kids, going for walks, etc. are absolutely essential for us. And in the evenings, we really enjoy eating at the Alte Schloßbrauerei (Old Castle Brewery). 1. Very child-friendly! 2. Very generous portions (steak plate for two people, the older one eats a child's portion and the younger one a robber's plate) 3. Exceptionally good service! The waiters are simply brilliant at what they do and absolutely worth their weight in gold! 4. The food simply tastes good! Not fine dining, but simply delicious, and that should be the main thing. 5. Good value for money! 6. A visually very beautiful restaurant. We can absolutely recommend the restaurant. We can't say enough about the rooms :)

Here, you can enjoy excellent food in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. The home-made beer, brewed according to a traditional recipe, tastes fantastic. The service is friendly and attentive. The wonderful castle island invites you to take a short stroll after your meal to aid digestion, even if it's just to the parking lot :o) I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We spent a weekend at the Alte Schlossbrauerei as a couple with friends. The room was tastefully and spaciously furnished. Everything was very clean – especially the bathroom. Very friendly staff. A hearty breakfast in a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere rounds off the hotel's excellent image. We'd love to come back!

This review is for the restaurant. We stopped by early evening without a reservation. The lobby was quite full, and the larger back area offers plenty of space. The brewery is more of a historical reference here, due to its former use. Today, it's more of a regular restaurant. Unfortunately, there's no beer for purchase or takeaway. The food was good 👍 The remoulade with the kibberlings was particularly tasty. High price, but very large portions. Great location, of course. Service was friendly and informative, but the three of them were very busy because the kitchen was running very well. Parking is available. Not wheelchair accessible.

Nice restaurant with its own beer.

The food was delicious and the service friendly. Unfortunately, I found the quantity and size of the dumplings very disappointing, which I found very unfortunate.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch for our family (8 adults, 2 children, 1 toddler). We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before our reservation, everything was ready, and we felt very welcome. The staff were very friendly, the food was served promptly, and it was delicious! Children are also very welcome here: Coloring pages were served alongside the menu to pass the time, and after the meal, there were little surprise boxes – a great idea! The restaurant is located directly on Lake Mirow. Nearby are the castle and castle park, the 3 Queens' Palace with a museum, and the Johanniter Church – and for the children, there's a "royal" playground, for example, the climbing frame with a slide is a carriage. Thank you very much – we will be back!

The restaurant is being reviewed. We ate there around lunchtime. We were able to sit outside. The bridal plate was good and the duck was very good. Coffee and drinks were good. The wait time was reasonable. The service was very friendly. The menu features classic dishes that you would expect here. Home-style cooking. Vegetarians also have some options. This week, however, the menu isn't very creative. There's a large selection of desserts. From the terrace, you have a beautiful view of the lake. Dogs are allowed. The interior is very nicely and comfortably furnished. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible (both inside and outside). Payments can be made by card. Tips can only be paid in cash.

Alte Schlossbrauerei Mirow – Enjoyment with Class That's what I call fine dining: Prices at a normal, slightly higher level, but absolutely justified. The service? Top-notch – attentive, warm, professional. Despite the busy crowd, you sit relaxed, unhurried, and can enjoy your meal in peace. The selection is plentiful, the cuisine down-to-earth, home-style, but with that certain something. Every plate is hearty, fresh, and very, very delicious. Anyone visiting Mirow shouldn't miss this moment of enjoyment.

Good food in a great atmosphere, right by the water. The restaurant – located in the basement of an old building in the magnificent residential palace complex on Mirow's castle island – impresses with its beautifully renovated condition and its location directly on Lake Mirow. The food is delicious, the portions generous, and the servers are friendly and attentive. The prices are a bit on the high side, but perfectly reasonable for what's on offer. We'd love to come back!

We were lucky to get a table for dinner. The extremely friendly and competent service staff provided us with a delightful evening. We received excellent advice when selecting food and drinks. The dishes arrived quickly, the plates were beautifully presented, and the food tasted delicious. The drinks were also delicious. It was an all-around delightful evening that rounded off an eventful day in the most beautiful part of Germany. The staff took the time for pleasant conversation. At the same time, the atmosphere was cozy. We would gladly come back.

Rating for the restaurant only: Very tasty, very good service! Very good value for money! The food comes really quickly, and you're not forgotten or ignored afterward either 👍 Reservations are a good idea; they're not available outside, but they're available inside. There are only two tables inside for "no reservations" plus two two-seat tables at the counter. The rest are reserved and presumably for hotel guests. We were lucky and arrived early enough to get one of the two tables. However, we saw many people who didn't have reservations leave.

The prices aren't exactly cheap. The food, however, was rather mediocre. There were 12 of us there, and everyone had roughly the same opinion. However, there was a truly fantastic view from the terrace. Not entirely recommended. But a drink and enjoying the view is definitely worth it.

We were cruising through five lakes with the Blue and White Fleet and discovered the Old Castle Brewery on the shore. The atmosphere was very inviting. We had a delicious dinner, and the wait was really short.

A beautifully located hotel right on the water. The rooms are tastefully clean. The rule that rooms are cleaned every three days doesn't create a hotel feel. Making the beds, vacuuming, removing trash, cleaning the sink once, and replacing used glasses are all part of the standard for me. We think it's sensible that the rooms aren't mopped and towels aren't changed every day. But you should be able to expect a basic level of hotel service. The restaurant is excellent, with consistently prompt and cheerful service. Breakfast could be improved. It was a bit monotonous.

Sitting on the terrace is highly recommended. Unfortunately, you can't make reservations, and you'll have to wait a bit. But it's worth it. Dogs are only allowed on the terrace. Service was very friendly and quick.

This was our second time dining there. This time, there were only free seats outside. Service 10 out of 10 Food ??? out of 10 Atmosphere: 1 out of 10 Why? We were surrounded by smokers. Guests even came outside to smoke next to our table. When will there finally be non-smoking restaurants? How can you enjoy your meal when you're sitting in the constant stench? We would have liked to have dessert, but preferred to eat it somewhere else. So, either reserve a table inside like the others or go somewhere else if you want to eat in peace.

This restaurant is not recommended. I've never seen such a carelessly presented plate. Sending something like that to a guest is simply embarrassing. When I complained that the sauce was way too salty, the kitchen replied, after asking again, that's how it's done here. The dumplings were pre-made pieces from a package. The red cabbage was bland without any seasoning. It was already mushy, and the salty sauce ruined it. If you get a plate like that from the cafeteria, it looks OK, but not in a restaurant. No orange, no cranberries, and almost 25 euros for it!!! How can you ruin a venison roast like that?

Very nice location - terrace by the water

Our family is currently on vacation nearby and decided to visit the restaurant based on the many positive reviews. The location in the park is very nice. The service was friendly and quick. We barely had to wait. The food also arrived very quickly, was plentiful, hot, and very tasty 😋. The mushrooms were fresh (not canned!), and the vegetables were fried to a crisp. My family loved the schnitzel Bolognese. They like schnitzel and bolognese. They hadn't tried either together before, but they found it very tasty. The atmosphere was great. Maybe we'll come back again this vacation 🤗

The staff at both the hotel and the restaurant are very friendly. The restaurant offers a delicious breakfast with a standard selection of toppings for hotel guests. The restaurant is open to any guest at any time of day and is highly recommended.

Socialism is still in full effect here. A very poor reception, a family of 10 people isn't allowed to sit together on two adjacent tables. Everything here still has its socialist roots! A shame in such a beautiful location... No matter the reaction - everything is the focus, except the customer. Nevertheless, we have greatness and wish you continued success!

We sat on the terrace of the restaurant right on Lake Mirow. The service was particularly friendly and attentive. The food (schnitzel, herring, solyanka, grilled meat, and fish) was excellent. The home-brewed beer was delicious. We also found the value for money to be excellent.

The restaurant's ambiance is great and the service is very friendly. The food was delicious. One minor criticism, however, is that the seltzer is sold as homemade lemonade with a barely noticeable shot of syrup. And then it's also served carelessly, with just ice and half a slice of lemon. A real shame. It didn't fit at all.

I'll give it all the stars I can get. A very nice little hotel with fairly recently renovated rooms (#4). The staff was very friendly across the board. Good breakfast for €16. We also had a great view from our clean room. The location on the small castle island of Mirow is fantastic. The castle and the church on the island can be visited (for a fee), and the church even has a viewing platform at the very top of the tower. It's 500 meters from the town; the town, with its 3,300 inhabitants, has little to offer other than a few restaurants and a few shops. Excursion boats stop right by the hotel. The hotel's own restaurant is also worth a visit and isn't just for hotel guests. I fully recommend it if you want to visit the Mecklenburg Lake District.

We had dinner there last night with our children, and we all really enjoyed it! The staff is very friendly, attentive, and professional! The food and drinks (besides water, we had a rhubarb spritz and a Braumeister beer) were consistently fantastic, and everyone was truly satisfied! The surroundings are lovely, and it's a great place to hang out :-) Definitely worth a visit!

I'm only reviewing the restaurant at the Alte Schlossbrauerei (Old Castle Brewery), where we ate as non-hotel guests after visiting Mirow Castle. The food is well-crafted, but the value for money isn't right. The only positive aspect is the old master builder's own beer. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the restaurant, although you can certainly end the day in style on the restaurant's own lakeside terrace after a visit to Mirow Castle.

We've been to this restaurant a few times, and it's always been mostly good. What bothers me most, however, is the inflexibility with requests for substitutions. In my opinion, it should be easy to order a chicken schnitzel instead of a pork schnitzel (of course, there's an extra charge for the substitution). There are numerous pork schnitzel dishes with all kinds of sauces, and only one "dry" chicken schnitzel with no sauce at all on this site. The fact is, not everyone wants, can, or is allowed to eat pork, and it shouldn't be a problem to have it changed. It's always been possible in other restaurants, but here they always say it's not possible. That should definitely be changed. Otherwise, the location is great, and the value for money is appropriate given the current situation.

We were back at the Hotel Alte Schlossbrauerei in Mirow at Easter. The hotel has a great location right on the lake, has its own jetty and we were also able to get on the excursion boats of the Blau Weisse Flotte directly at the hotel's own jetty. The hotel is very neatly organized, the rooms are clean and stylishly furnished. The ladies at reception helped us with all of our questions and were even happy to reserve places on the excursion boat for us. The breakfast buffet is set up in a vaulted room and leaves nothing to be desired. The restaurant is very good, the service staff are very attentive and the menu is very well coordinated. Especially now on the first sunny days we enjoyed coffee and cake in the beer garden right by the lake and of course enjoyed the sunset with a decent beer from the brewery!
