Wir waren mit einer Hochzeitsgesellschaft dort und es war wirklich super! Essen und Getränke waren fantastisch und das Personal war sehr nett

Hm naja, Preis/Leistung passt nicht , Frühstück 17€ mit kleinem Wasser und einem Cappuccino 25€ Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Waren dort zum Mittagessen. War sehr gut. Empfehlung

Klassisches deutsches Essen im Zentrum. Kleine Portionen aber vergleichbar hoche Preise. Service immer sehr nett und sympathisch. Die Optik selbst drin... Für mich der jeniger der es geplant hat wollte zu viel in schön machen und im meinem Augen ist sehr abstrakt ausgegangen. Mann bekommt zur sehen viel von modernen Ausrichtung, allerdings mit klassischen alten Dingen die wahrscheinlich so aussehen, als hätten die noch die alten Jahrhundert irgendwie mitbekommen. Grundsätzlich ganz okay, aber Verhältnis Preis Leistung definitiv zu hoch.

Ein sehr schön eingerichtet Lokal mit hervorragenden Essen. Der Koch dort versteht sein Handwerk. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist sehr gut abgestimmt.

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, das Restaurant verfügt über eine große Terrasse und einen gemütlichen Innenbereich. Der Wirt veranstaltet Themenwochen. Wir waren in der Cordonbleu Woche zu Gast. Ausgesprochen lecker. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Ich war vorletze Woche mit 9 Personen anlässlich meines Geburtstages dort essen. Das Essen wurde durchweg von meinen Gästen gelobt. Es waren auch alle Gerichte ziemlich zeitgleich auf dem Tisch. Ich hatte auf Nachfrage der Verantwortlichen um einen Aperol Spritz als Aperitif zum Anstossen gebeten. Meinem Wunsch wurde, ohne dass ich dies nochmal erwähnen musste, nachgekommen. Obwohl drinnen bereits eingedeckt war, wurde kurzerhand für uns draussen gedeckt. Es war ein absolut gelungener und toller Abend! Vielen Dank an das Team der "Alten Post"!

Radeberger und Büble (aus dem Allgäu) - in Franken!!!!! Einfach schwach. Und die Freundlichkeit wurde irgendwo weit entfernt von hier erfunden

Eine wirklich schöne Location. Wir waren zu fünft in der Alten Post essen. Das Essen hat uns allen sehr gut geschmeckt, der Service war sehr aufmerksam, aber nicht aufdringlich. Einziger Nachteil ist, wenn das Restaurant voll ist, ist es sehr laut und an einer Unterhaltung ist da nicht mehr zu denken. Die Tische stehen sehr eng beieinander und so wird das aufstehen schon mal zu einer kleinen Herausforderung. Alles in allem hat es mir aber sehr gut gefallen und ich würde die alte Post weiterempfehlen.

Wir empfehlen weiter! Sehr gut gespeist und getrunken sowie bestens betreut von der freundlichen und aufmerksamen Dame im Service. Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße aus Oberöterreich.

Man sollte reservieren, Plätze sind begehrt.

Leider kann ich gar keine Sterne vergeben, da wir schon beim Empfang unflexibel und schroff behandelt wurden. Wir haben das Lokal wieder verlassen und ein Lokal mit einer sehr zuvorkommend Bedienung gefunden.

Eine ganz wunderbare Feier zur 1.Heiligen Kommunion, die Tische waren sehr schön dekoriert, das Essen hat allen geschmeckt und der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell

Wir waren zu zweit am Abend essen. Ich hatte einen Burger und mein Mann den veganen Sauerbraten. Beides sehr lecker. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Sehr gemütliches gut-bürgerliches Restaurant mit freundlicher und aufmerksamer Bedienung. Das Essen war durchweg von guter Qualität. Die Online-Reservierung am Wunschtisch hat wunderbar funktioniert. Trotz der Größe des Raums und den vielen Gästen war der Lärmpegel ok. Eine Tischreservierung ist am Wochenende empfehlenswert. Sehr viele kostenlose Parkplätze befinden 3 Fußminuten entfernt unterhalb der Burg (Burgstraße).

Die beste Schnitzel meines Lebens… die Soße ist unglaublich lecker. Die Pommes sind köstlich.

Ich war zum ersten Mal dort. Die Bestellung umfasste eine Portion Offenkartofel sowie ein gekochtes Ei. Die Kartoffel wurde in Wasser gekocht, das Ei eine minimale ( XS 2€ )Große aufwies. Das Essen und das Ei war kühl.🥶. Für eine Tasse Kamille Tee, Kartoffel und Ei habe ich 21.90 € bezahlt. Der Bedienung hat 22 € von mir kassiert. Ich gehe nie wieder dorthin.😕

Wir hatten gestern einmal Schnitzel Wiener Art und einmal Schweinebraten in Biersoße Die Panade des Schnitzel war viel zu hell und haftete nicht am Fleisch. Bratkartoffeln waren so lala. Der Schweinebraten war eine einzige Enttäuschung. Das Fleisch trocken und sehr fest, Soße war gut und Semmelknödel Scheiben auch. Der Rotkohl auch hart und geschmacksneutral. Eine Servicekraft ganz angenehm und bemüht, die andere tendenziell nicht gerade freundlich. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend für einen nicht angemessenen Preis. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Das Essen war sehr gut, aber die Bedienung hat sich ziemlich herablassend benommen als wir sie angesprochen haben warum wird um unseren Tisch herum Staub gekehrt, obwohl wir gerade unser Essen bekommen haben. Wir sind um ca. 12.45 angekommen und eine halbe Stunde später dass Essen bekommen und gerade in dem Moment haben die angefangen zu kehren. Angeblich Frühstücks Reste. Egal wie, aber wirklich kein Moment um den Staub zu wirbeln. Wenn ich irgendwo ein Gast bin, wünsche ich mir für mein Geld respektvoll behandelt zu werden, und nicht von der Bedienung angesch... zu werden.

Wir waren Sonntags zum frühstücken im Restaurant Alte Post in Alzenau. Das Essen war gut und geschmacklich absolut in Ordnung. Die Auswahl reichlich und es wurde immer zu nachgefüllt. Der Service war jedoch sehr enttäuschend. Da wir nicht reserviert hatten, mussten wir lange warten. Andere Gäste, die zum Mittagessen kamen, wurden belehrt, sie seien 30 Minuten zu früh und müssten warten, da der Tisch noch nicht frei sei. Was nicht gestimmt hat. Eine Gruppe mit Reservierung für 7 Personen wurde scharf angegangen, weil sie nur zu sechst erschien. Während unseres Aufenthalts wurden wir nicht mehr nach Getränken gefragt. Zum Bezahlen mussten die Gäste selbst an die Theke kommen, obwohl Personal im Raum war. Statt sich um die Gäste zu kümmern, schien es wichtiger zu sein, Tische abzuwischen und den Boden zu fegen. Insgesamt wirkte das Personal unfreundlich, wenig aufmerksam und teils genervt. Sehr schade, denn mit einem besseren Service hätte der Besuch deutlich angenehmer sein können. Ein guter Service ist das aushänge Schild einer Gastronomie.

Wärend meine Deern sehr zufrieden mit ihrem Gericht war, fand ich meines (Wildgullasch) eher mittelmäßig. Der Kellner war sehr Aufmerksam und freundlich. Allerdings sollte er mal ein wenig lockerer werden. Der Gastraum ist sehr schön und ansprechend eingerichtet.

Ein sehr schönes Konzept, von früh bis spät abends etwas zum Essen zu bekommen. Die Qualität der Speisen hat uns zugesagt. Service war TOP, aufmerksam und schnell. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen. Danke an die gesamte Belegschaft!

We ate here yesterday before strolling through the Christmas market. The service was very friendly and attentive, even though the restaurant was full. The food was delicious and plentiful. Pleasant atmosphere, we'll definitely be back!

We celebrated our wedding at the Alte Post in Alzenau last autumn and were absolutely delighted. Everything went perfectly, from the initial consultation to the very last moment of the celebration. The service was exceptionally well-organized, attentive, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. We would especially like to thank Ms. Oboue, whose warm and professional manner made the preparations and the celebration truly special. She ensured with dedication and genuine care that we felt completely comfortable and well looked after. The food was another highlight: exquisitely seasoned, beautifully presented, and highly praised by all our guests. We would celebrate at the Alte Post again in a heartbeat and wholeheartedly recommend this venue. Thank you for an unforgettable celebration!

Beautiful location. The staff was friendly. The food was good. We would eat here more often. Unfortunately, with the prices here and in the restaurant industry in general, it's not possible as often anymore.

We were invited to dinner by friends. It was game season, so I had to try it. The portion was generous and the food was delicious 😋 The service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is really lovely! The walls are decorated with old pictures depicting the Alzenau area in earlier times. Overall, very cozy!

We spontaneously stopped by the Alte Post Office for lunch with our two young children (3 & 6) on a Saturday. It wasn't busy, and we could practically choose where we wanted to sit. Since we went without planning, we didn't have anything to keep the kids busy. However, the very friendly waitress immediately brought us art supplies and a children's menu. Perfect :) The kids chose spaetzle with sauce, and we chose vegan burgers. Everything was delicious! We particularly liked the relatively good selection of vegan dishes. Unfortunately, you don't always get that in smaller towns. So, full marks from us; we'll be happy to come back!

Despite the somewhat poor reviews, we dared to go here because it was raining so heavily. And it was really nice. The food was delicious, the service was very friendly and attentive, and we were able to play our new game, Volto, in peace.

We didn't expect much and were still disappointed. The waiter clearly wasn't in the mood to work. There were seven of us as a family, and that was apparently too much, because otherwise the restaurant was empty. As for the food: The best I can say is that some of the food was okay. But some of it was truly abysmal. There was a piece of packaging in the salad with house-cured salmon, the breading on a cordon bleu consisted almost entirely of burnt pepper, and someone thought of deep-frying the Franconian bratwurst? Overall, unfortunately, it was truly awful, but exorbitantly expensive, and we're not usually the kind who complain excessively.

We were at the Alte Post/Alz restaurant at the beginning of summer 2025 with four adults, two small babies, and a dog. We asked if we could sit outside with our two strollers, as it was a beautiful sunny day. A little further back on the terrace, there was a large, shaded table available that wasn't reserved. We could also park the two strollers to the side there – out of the way. The younger waitress kindly showed us the way. We were just about to sit down when an older waitress came over, blocked our seat, yelled at us, and rudely told us to find another spot. Unfortunately, there was no other shady spot available; we had two babies with us!!! "A little sun doesn't matter." Now we became a little more assertive and asked why the large table wasn't available???? A brief discussion ensued, after which we were allowed to sit at the shaded table, despite the waitress' displeasure. Other guests observed the situation, some saying, "You lucky people, we were chased away from this table by this waitress 15 minutes ago." Others said, "We can't go back here anymore..." And yes, if we hadn't had the babies in tow, who, by the way, were asleep and didn't make a sound the entire 2.5 hours we spent at the Alte Post Alzenau, and the dog slept soundly next to the chair... we would have left after 3 minutes. The rest of our stay turned out to be very tense. Over time, the waitress regained her tense, insincerely friendly workmanlike demeanor. It might also be worth mentioning that we had consumed everything from appetizers to dessert, homemade lemonades, lunch for four people, etc. After that, there was a shift change, and the man who served us was a burst of friendliness (irony off). For example, it wasn't possible to change an order from a Fanta to a homemade lemonade two minutes later because it was supposedly already booked. This staff is unfriendly, rude, fake-friendly, inflexible, stubborn, and unfriendly to children and dogs. Unfortunately, the facts need to be laid bluntly here! Even though we left a good bill. And for the last time!!!

The restaurant was empty, service took forever, and was inaccurate. It was a top-notch restaurant for a long time, but now it's far too expensive for the quality and service.

A very tasty breakfast buffet in a lovely setting. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our drinks.

I invited people there for brunch for my 60th birthday. It was fantastic. Huge selection at a fair price. They had everything for both sweet and savory breakfasts. The seating is lovely, both inside and outside. It won't be my last time there.

The service was not very competent and somewhat unfriendly. Breakfast was more like a hotel breakfast, and at €13.90 without drinks, it was very expensive. Drinks weren't priced either (in other words, expensive), and the quality of the food wasn't that great either. Plates weren't cleared quickly, and the buffet was rarely refilled. We wouldn't go back.

There's little vegan selection, the service is unfriendly, and the buffet is refilled too slowly or not at all, even upon request. Drinks are not included, and the price of drinks isn't disclosed unless you specifically ask. The value for money isn't good.

A young man serving the food was extremely unfriendly. He asked us what we wanted, and we felt like he was being misogynistic, as there were three of us at the table. We were looking forward to the schnitzel, but then we got up and went somewhere else to eat. Never again! We were long-time customers, but this kind of service is unacceptable.

The food was good, but the staff were unfriendly. After a discrepancy in the bill and our inquiry, they didn't attempt to resolve the issue. Instead, they rudely replied that it was part of the system and therefore acceptable.

Very cozy in any season. Whether inside in winter or outside in summer. The menu is clearly laid out, and the dishes are deliciously prepared. On the terrace, the traffic on the one-way street is a nuisance. But on weekends, it's much quieter.

Today, after a long, stressful day, we met up with friends. We were told to hurry with our orders at 7:50 p.m. because the kitchen was closing time. When we placed our orders, we were told we felt a bit rushed. The server gave a brief explanation: he was stressed and alone. When ordering, we asked if dessert was possible after dinner. The answer was, of course. Unfortunately, despite our efforts to be friendly, we weren't able to experience a pleasant atmosphere. Regular opening hours were until 11:00 p.m., but we paid at 9:45 p.m. to avoid being rude. The staff certainly deserved to socialize. But in retrospect, I ask myself, what more do they deserve after a hard day's work than a customer who just wanted to feel comfortable? We wish the team understanding and better relationships with their customers. There are good days and there are not so good days. Unfortunately, this was the second time this happened to us.

Even though we were told immediately upon entering the restaurant at 7:45 p.m. that we should make a quick decision because the kitchen was closing, we stayed with a reservation for four people, even though I personally would have preferred to leave. Unfortunately, the evening didn't go as planned. As guests, you want to feel warmly welcomed and not rushed off. We're also self-employed and have a lot of work, so I don't want to spend money having the boss explain my poor planning. The price remains the same in the end. As a guest, you can expect appropriate service and not be pressured into paying 1.5 hours before closing time. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Very authentic restaurant. Very friendly service

The Alte Post is probably the most central contact point in Alzenau city center. The atmosphere is cozy but anything but old-fashioned. The food is delicious and the service was also very good. There is one tiny criticism for the generously poured ready-made sauce in the somewhat wrinkled salad.

Very cozy facility... Great outdoor area with a view over the market square. Were there for Easter brunch. Very large selection of delicious food, something for every taste... Friendly staff and good service... Can only be recommended.

This is a modern, inviting, and well-organized restaurant with delicious cuisine from an appealing, yet not overly extensive menu. You can tell the restaurant is well-run! A highly recommended address for a good meal or a pleasant meeting.

After the last change of tenant I can't say anything about the food. Drinks are still of the same quality and the menu actually has something for every taste.

The buffet was stocked with very simple foods. Doesn't justify the price

The “Green Sauce” dish consisted of a blob of watery green sauce, 8 small frozen potatoes, 4 half eggs and a little decoration. I found 16€ to be absolutely unreasonable. Unfortunately, BuonApetito and Querbeet were fully booked.

A great breakfast buffet. Unfortunately there is no water or coffee (it doesn't have to be a cappuccino) at the buffet. Do you have to pay extra? Otherwise we are very satisfied and happy to go

You can't go wrong with the old post office. The food is tasty, the service is good, the decor is nice and the price/performance is right.

There is nothing good - unless you do it: after an estimated 38 years, I had arranged to meet up with a friend in the Alte Post, what can I say? Great ambience, quiet for talking (2 p.m.) very tasty coffee, unfortunately no 🍰 but a non-alcoholic beer. All in all and for our occasion and at this time a great location, 100% recommendation 🤗 gladly again.

The restaurant is nicely decorated. The service is very attentive. We were there for breakfast. Unfortunately, the extensive buffet was no longer refilled at eleven o'clock.

Too few staff for the number of guests. The two waitresses present simply couldn't keep up despite their non-stop work. What was even more unsatisfactory is that 70% of the time the brunch buffet was always missing something, and that over long periods of time. No eggs, no bacon and worst of all, no bread. I can't remember ever having experienced something like that.

Yesterday evening we were here for the second time as a couple, the food was simply top, and the middle-aged waiter served us very well, we will come back...

The food is delicious and so is the Christmas menu on December 26th. was good. However, it's a shame that they don't serve goose, which I think is part of a Christmas menu. Especially since we were told when we made the reservation that there would be roast goose. One star deduction for the unfriendly/stressed waiter (male, glasses, late forties).

We were here for coffee for two hours. Unfortunately the waiter made us feel unwelcome. We were served by a dark-haired, middle-aged man. When ordering, we asked what the name “Wintertraum” (or something similar) was on the drinks menu. The waiter left us sitting in the middle of our order without a word and simply turned around and then came back later with the answer. When asked if there was cake, they just said, "No, they're in a restaurant here, so they'll just have to go to the café next door" (the café next door wasn't even open, otherwise we would have actually gone there after the cheeky comment ). This could have been solved in a much more confident and customer-friendly manner (and also more profitable for the old post office) by referring to the dessert menu, for example. When asked if we wanted to eat something, we said that we didn't want to eat anything right now (... But maybe later!). The waiter then simply took the card away. I was flabbergasted for a moment - so no food for us 😅. After we sat there for about half an hour with empty drinks, I was finally able to get the waiter's attention as he passed by, who just asked "pay?" - even though we actually just wanted to order something. When we then wanted to pay - we had consumed a total of €20-30 in drinks - we were asked to pay with a card and were grumpily told that you could only pay with a card for orders over €10 and that it would take much longer would take. When the colleague finally came with the card reader, our request to pay separately had obviously not been passed on to us by the waiter All in all, I have to say: inattentive, rude service, which unfortunately brings down the otherwise very nice atmosphere extremely.

I had a dinner date with a friend and it was my first time in this restaurant. I am absolutely thrilled with this restaurant. Great service, very attentive waiters and great food. In any case, I can only recommend this restaurant.

Nice view of the market square, cozy atmosphere. Despite the high frequency on Sundays, friendly service. Food was good, lentil soup was hearty, fried potatoes with egg and green sauce were recommended, dessert Kaiserschmarrn was small but tasty.

We wanted to stop by this evening after the Alzenau Christmas market, but the door was already locked at 10:45 p.m., even though there were still a number of tables with guests inside. This wasn't the first time that the door was closed on Saturday evening, but if there's a small event in Alzenau, you could maybe leave it open a little longer. The tenant complains on the internet that he has to fight for survival - you feel a bit embarrassed...... 😞

Stopped in spontaneously and received a friendly welcome. Despite not having a reservation, we were assigned a seat and served promptly. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. I always feel comfortable in the old post office. This time I was at the funeral and it went to the old post office.

Have now been to the Alte Post once again. Cool location, delicious food and very good wines. Always my pleasure.

Since I am on October 19th. It's my birthday, so we thought we'd go to Alzenau to the Alte Post and have dinner there! The table for three people was reserved in advance! We, my wife, my son and I, were in the restaurant on October 19th, 2024 BEFORE 5:30 p.m.! (There was live music from 6:30 p.m.) The first impression was good! Ambience is quite ok! Order went quickly! We ordered two beef roulades with dumplings and red cabbage and a vegan burger! Plus 1x large bottle of water, 1x house lemonade and 1x injected apple juice! The food came quickly, (feels like 10…15 minutes) However, the roulades were also cold! My partner's food wasn't any better either (lukewarm) The roulade filling is partially refrigerator cold! Dumplings and red cabbage also lukewarm! Vegan burger, according to my son, was good! Tip from me. Leave the food in the microwave for a minute longer, but reduce the power by 30%! Service three stars Food two stars! Ultimately more appearance than reality. However, according to the service staff, the store was completely booked! But that's McDonald's too! To be honest, I'm not one to rate a restaurant, but this one was really wrong. Sorry

I have known the Alte Post for many years and have eaten there many times. Unfortunately, the prices have been increased so much that there is no longer an appropriate price/performance ratio. The quality is mixed - a lot of it is straight out of the box (convenience). I've had rather bad experiences with the service recently (unfriendly, no greeting, main course simply changed without consultation, etc.), which is probably due to the lack of skilled workers. I now avoid the Alte Post and prefer to go to the restaurant opposite.

Wanted to have breakfast there. The shop was empty and the service seemed listless and unfriendly. This was our last visit to the Alte Post.

At the breakfast buffet, the baked goods were all very dry (baked?). The service gave everything and was very friendly and prompt👍🏻.

Great food, had a lovely halloumi burger here, was a big burger as well. Nice place lots of food choices.

The food was really tasty, but the service was very unfriendly. We felt unwelcome and the waiter acted annoyed. The fact that we wanted to pay by card also seemed to bother him... I don't know whether it was because we were there with children or because the waiter was alone. But even this is no reason to take it out on the guests.
