I have purchased takeaway twice so far in March and April 2025. I was very pleased with the flexibility and willingness of the entire team to help me with my special requests! And then the food was beautifully presented and tasted extremely good! The restaurant also has a sunny terrace where I was able to spend a few sunny minutes while the meals were being prepared. Top!

Highly recommended. The food was truly delicious, and the wine pairing was perfectly matched to the menu. The service was very polite, and the ambiance is also impressive. The price-performance ratio is excellent 👍 All in all, very good.

Unfortunately we weren't able to test the food. The system produced a booking error and despite confirmation by telephone we were sent away. It's a shame, it could have been a nice birthday.

I reserved a table for March 15th via the website on March 12th. Apart from a processing confirmation, I did not receive any reservation confirmation. So after waiting 2 days I decided to call. My reservation actually hadn't been processed yet. After consulting with the manager, they were still able to confirm my reservation on the phone, even though the restaurant was actually fully booked. Unfortunately, the employee from the phone call seemed to have forgotten to write this down in the book. When we were there on Saturday with 5 people, we couldn't find any reservations. I was offered a table for 1 1/2 hours. But this was too short for us. That's why I could only judge the service. It leaves a lot to be desired. The food was actually always pretty tasty. Unfortunately I can't rate it this time.

Unfortunately disappointed today. The menu was chosen by four people. Pasta and main courses were only lukewarm, capers were not fried as described. Tartar a bit bland. Parmesan chip too hard. Staff not as committed as usual.

I went to the old butcher shop with my work colleague for our small, lovely Christmas party. We chose the 4-course menu including wine accompaniment and were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the wines delicious and perfectly matched. Lena served us attentively and friendly. Even during our long break before dessert, she discreetly kept an eye on us. A successful evening in a beautiful atmosphere with great staff. Gladly again 💖

The restaurant is fully recommended. The service was very committed, friendly and extremely attentive, even with regard to our grandchild. The presentation of the food and drinks as well as the taste of all dishes correspond to fine dining.

Exquisite shop in Essen Rüttenscheid. I was spontaneously out in the corner and saw the shop from the outside and thought I'd try it there. Absolutely positive surprise. High quality food and great wines. Also Stauder on tap. Kudos to the staff. That evening there were 2 ladies in service who looked after the store perfectly. Nice, accommodating but not intrusive, which is sometimes the case in such restaurants. Keep it up, I'll be happy to come back when I'm in Rüttenscheid.

We spontaneously decided to reserve a table. The restaurant and the menu made a very good impression. Unfortunately, the starters were fresh from the freezer. For this reason, neither the tuna nor the marinated salmon nor the seaweed salad could confirm their visually appealing presentation. The burrata on the beetroot carpaccio was also significantly too cold. The main courses were probably better but nothing more. The tagliata was okay but not a revelation. The pasta dish with porcini mushrooms and Black Angus tips was very creamy. There are much better offers out there. The finale was an espresso that was presented clearly too cold. Despite the instructions to the service staff about the starters and the espresso, no apologies came from the kitchen. Rather, a lot of things were just “smiled away”. Overall, both the kitchen and the service clearly need to be worked on.

Ambience nice, food so-so, service catastrophic! The ambience of the restaurant really deserves the full star rating - you can only give a maximum of one star for the service. The preparation of the drinks, etc. Lillet and Aperol was like rocket science - at least it took forever and required a lot of advice behind the counter. Recording the drinks, at least 4 of them, was also difficult and required repeated repetition - a pad and pen would certainly have been helpful. The young ladies all seemed very ignorant, but waving and ignoring requests for drinks still shouldn't happen. We would certainly have liked to have several more drinks, but the ladies neither came to the table uninvited nor were they encouraged to see drinks ordered. The food was partly cold and partly of mediocre quality (pasta and flank). The comment when clearing away that it wasn't tasty was countered with "I'll pass it on." Probably a rhetorical question from the waitress. I think it's a real shame that there was no response to criticism from the operators.

The food was very good! We did the “Restaurant Karussell”, which is highly recommended. You get 4 courses including wine accompaniment in a good restaurant at a fair price. What really pissed us off, in a certain way, was the service: They were super friendly and also asked about allergies, but on the one hand, when a wine glass was supposed to be placed, they broke my water glass, which can always happen Everything was also very tidy, but to be on the safe side we took both of our water glasses with us that were still full and assured us that we would get a new bottle. We ordered these, but unexpectedly had to pay for them. The starter was also not very pleasant: we asked if one could swap one starter for another that wasn't included in the menu, since they cost the same. We were assured that “this would not be a problem.” We were then surprised to pay an extra €5 on the bill for a replacement for an appetizer that cost €19. What bothered us was that this wasn't said in advance, so we wouldn't have done it. Conclusion: food and location great, service very friendly, but bill not very convincing. Therefore I wouldn't go here again.

Well, unfortunately it wasn't convincing. Basically, the processing (consistency) of the meat was good, but the taste was completely lacking. Vegetables were also very viable. You could totally forget about dessert. Three kinds of chocolate? Dry chocolate cake, mousse just ok and coffee mousse I don't know. Service good.

Went to the old butcher shop as part of the annual restaurant carousel. The food was delicious, but our local Italian restaurant served much better pasta. And the service left something to be desired. The food, and especially the drinks, were served at a very rapid pace; some of our plates and glasses were not yet empty. In addition, the drinks were very limited and there were no refills, as we know from other participating restaurants. The bottle of wine, which is always given as a guest gift, also had to be specifically requested.

Service, ambience and food are simply top class! A very good price-performance ratio!

The dishes “Menu - Restaurantkarussell” were first class except for the Wasabi Espuma foam (unfortunately no foam - ok, complaining at a higher level). The espressos seemed a bit lifeless. Classic case of - cups not preheated (why). Our visit was accompanied by the restaurant telephone, which often rang unmistakably. That was probably just because our table was “very central”. It's a shame with an invoice of > €350. another try? Let's see.

Great evening with delicious food and good drinks, despite some problems with new employees, we were served politely, the incorrectly booked starter was served free of charge and the one we ordered was served, the meat was cooked as desired and the side dishes were very tasty. Very tasty food, the meat has been aged for at least 60 days and is very tender. The service is very friendly and competent, as she gives very committed and professional advice on wine matters. Definitely going back.

Wir haben nur Gutes von dem Restaurant gehört. Haben Tisch für den 30.08. reserviert, der schriftlich bestätigt wurde. Angekommen am Restaurant: Zu! Der Betrieb war auf ein regionales Festival verlagert. Sehr enttäuschend!

Food was really very good. Great quality and perfectly prepared. Desert selection was also great. But what deserves special mention here: top-notch service! Were alone in the restaurant for a while. Service very attentive and but never intrusive.

Unfortunately we are very disappointed, especially with f.s. which can only be described as aloof. does not behave towards his guests like a host. The lack of feeling for hospitality is then also reflected in the insecurity of the service staff. very sad.

The two of us were at the Alte Metzgerei on Friday as part of the Restaurantkarussell and had reserved in advance. The food was very tasty and the accompanying wines were also good! The bottle of wine to take home was only available upon request. What really bothered us: the restaurant was completely overcrowded. We sat in the far corner, crowded together with other guests. The tables were so close together that the waitress even had to walk backwards and if you wanted to get up you automatically smacked the table next to you. Conclusion: food great, service great, ambience loud and way too cramped.

Was here for the restaurant carousel. We ate very well and were served excellently.

We went to the Karussell restaurant with four people. The cloakroom situation was borderline because the restaurant was fully booked and the cloakroom was too small for this large number of guests. In a full restaurant the noise level was very high and rather unpleasant and borderline. Hence the point deduction. The service was attentive and very friendly. The food was great, great taste and very well prepared. The wine pairing was very well matched to the food and was very good. We had to actively address the bottle of wine that came with the menu as a farewell gift. We would have expected something different.

Vor allem war auch die Bedienung sehr nett, wusste super Bescheid und war mit uns geduldig und hilfsbereit bei der Menü- und Getränkewahl! Großes Lob! Das Essen war super und die Getränke ein Erlebnis!

I'm just afraid that when we visited in February, the worm was in there. The service had many deficiencies. Started with a bumpy greeting; Glasses brought to the table balanced without a tray; empty glasses that have not been cleared away; desired break between courses that was ignored; For dessert there were only espresso spoons as cutlery; crowned by a conclusion without any question as to whether a coffee or digestif is still available. All in all, really poor. Why there were plates of bread on the table but there was never any bread remains a mystery. The presentation of the carousel menu with the official flyer also left something to be desired. The selection of food on the menu was good, although not very inspiring. Unfortunately, the medium cooking point as desired for beef was also clearly exceeded. Doesn't all cry out for repetition.

A fantastic carousel menu gave us a lovely evening. Every course was very tasty, and the wines were also very well matched. Very nice service, nice atmosphere. What more do you want?

Komme sehr gerne nach Rüttenscheid ins Sausalitos. Leider ist die Musik sehr laut am Abend, so dass man sich sehr schlecht unterhalten kann!

Essen und Service waren sehr gut. Happy Hour für Cocktails sehr zu empfehlen.

Sehr schlechter service, super laut, cocktail bestand zu 80% aus eiswürfeln und war dafür auch noch völlig überteuert. Ich habe keinerlei Trinkgeld gegeben, da man auf den Service 45 min warten musste.

Mega discovery! We were worried about eating here based on the reviews. I'm so glad we did it anyway. It was an excellent evening. The service was extremely courteous and friendly, the boss accompanied us in our choice of wine, the greeting from the kitchen was delicate, the dishes were prepared to a very high standard, definitely something to look at and just really delicious. It was very crowded, so it was a little louder, but not unpleasant.

The four of us went to the butcher shop yesterday and were thrilled. Very nice restaurant and the food convinced everyone. Plus a very nice service. Highlight for me... My Wiener Schnitzel. Perfect.

Wir mussten leider seeeeeehr lange auf das Essen warten. Unser Vorspeisen Teller (Algensalat mit Lachs) bestand aus 4 mini Röllchen Lachs und Thunfisch. Lecker, aber für den Preis frech. Um 21.15 Uhr kam dann endlich das Hauptgericht. Ich habe selten sowas geschmackloses gegessen. Es war einfach nur fettig und nicht lecker. Sogar das Kartoffelpüree wurde noch zusätzlich mit Olivenöl übergossen.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend in der „Alte Metzgerei“. Das Menü des Restaurant Karussells hat uns begeistert. Die selbstgemachten Trüffelnudeln - köstlich. Das Rinderfilet zart und auf den Punkt gebraten. Die begleitenden Weine passend zu den Gängen. Gerne kommen wir zum Gänse-Menü im November wieder!

Wir haben heute einen hervorragenden Abend mit Freunden in sehr freundlicher Atmosphäre und perfektem Service genossen , sodass wir sehr glücklich waren, dass man uns kurzfristig noch einen Platz bieten konnte. Das Menü war ausgezeichnet, begleitet von sehr guten Weinen. Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen perfekten Espresso Martini. Wir möchten herzlichen Dank sagen für den schönen Abend und bis bald!

Wir hatten einen super tollen Abend! Das Essen von Chefkoch Jan Nachtigall hat uns durch und durch begeistert. Unsere kleinen Sonderwünsche im Menü wurden problemlos erfüllt. Der Service ist natürlich und bemüht und man sitzt in einem tollen Ambiente. Wie kommen gerne wieder!

Leckeres Essen, aber auch nicht absolut besonders. Deutlich zu voll, zu laut und nicht besonders liebevoll. Service sehr bemüht aber nicht professionell... all in all zu teuer für das was man bekommt....

Das Essen war ok, aber nicht dem hohen Preis entsprechend. Zudem mussten wir sehr lange warten. Die Tische stehen sehr eng und dadurch war es sehr laut. Der Service war bemüht, aber trotz allem nicht dem Preis entsprechend gut und unaufmerksam. Zusammenfassend stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht.

Wir waren mit dem Schlemmerbock dort. Der Burger für normalerweise 19,90 wäre dafür das Geld nicht wert gewesen. Sehr übersichtlich. Der Caesars Salad war ok. Alles was wir so bei anderen an Speisen sahen, sah besser aus. Als ob es an dem Gutscheinbuch gelegen hat kam es uns vor. Ich würde es daher nur ohne schlemmerblock weiterempfehlen.

Leider war nur ein Kellner für alle Gäste zuständig. Dadurch mussten wir ewig auf unsere Bestellung warten. Zudem kamen die Getränke leider so versetzt, dass ich ohne ein Getränk am Tisch saß, während die Kollegen 20 Minuten Zeit hatten dieses zu genießen. Auch das Essen war mal deutlich ausgefallener und ist jetzt der Preis Leistung nicht mehr entsprechend. Wir kommen dadurch leider nächstes Jahr zur Messe nicht wieder, obwohl die letzten 2 Besuche bisher überragend waren.

Essen wirklich superlecker, aber wer wartet schon gerne 75 Minuten auf die Vorspeise und dann nochmals 60 Minuten auf den Hauptgang?? Nach einer Stunde haben wir um etwas Brot gebeten, Personal zeigte sich dann verwundert, dass wir noch gar keins hatten ?!? Zwei Bedienungen am Samstag Abend ( die sehr bemüht und auch nett waren!) sind einfach viel zu wenig! Das sehr leckere Essen und die umwerfend tolle Gruppe, mit der wir da waren, konnten leider den Service und die Wartezeit nicht schöner machen :-( Als wir das Essen bekamen war es stockdunkel, für die Teelichtbeleuchtung mussten wir noch selbst sorgen… Sehr schade, dass am Schluss nicht mal ein Glas Wein o.ä. für die Gruppe als kleine Entschädigung raussprang! Schade-werden nicht wieder kommen!

I made a booking online for 9 people for Saturday the 9th of September at 9pm, to be seated outside. On arrival a gentleman I assume was the manager said that he could not accommodate us outside as they had to stop serving at 9.30. I asked why accept our booking then and he shrugged and said I don't know! Grudgingly he said we could sit inside but did not accompany us inside so we had to push two tables together ourselves. He did not return to give us menus or take a drinks order so after 5 minutes we left. He was sat outside chatting as we left and when i said we are leaving he just shrugged again. The barman did at least apologise.

War mit meiner Frau in Rüttenscheid unterwegs und wollten unseren Hochzeitstag feiern. Wir sind an diesem Restaurant vorbeigekommen und haben unser Glück versucht, denn vielerorts haben wir keinen Platz bekommen. Das Lokal war nicht sehr stark frequentiert weshalb wir problemlos einen Platz bekamen. In dem kleinen aber schön eingerichteten Restaurant, hatten wir freie Platzwahl. Die Karte war übersichtlich, die Preise im mittleren Bereich. Nach kurzer Suche hatten wir unsere Gerichte gewählt, die nette Servicekraft nahm indessen unsere Getränkebestellung entgegen. Die Weinempfehlung war passend, es wurde zuvor eine Probe gereicht. In angemessener Zeit wurden unsere Gerichte serviert. Am Essen gab es nichts auszusetzen, das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart, die Saucen und Beilagen frisch und sehr lecker. Die Portionen ausreichend und sättigend. Der Service war durchweg freundlich und professionell. Tatsächlich waren wir außerordentlich erstaunt, daß das Lokal im Gegensatz zu den umliegenden Etablissements nicht so gut besucht war an dem Abend. Wir waren von dem Gesamtpaket sehr begeistert und werden hier definitiv wieder essen gehen. Klare Empfehlung meinerseits.

Fantastiskt god och vällagad mat i trevlig miljö. Lagom stor meny och alla i sällskapet nöjda över kvaliteten. Bra utbud av viner.

Kellner waren sehr nett. Preisleistung war gut. Wurde auch auf Happy Hour aufmerksam gemacht. Cocktails teilweise sehr stark, konnte aber verdünnt werden, damit die weniger stark sind. Musik gegen 21:30Uhr sehr laut geworden.

Sehr leckeres Essen und nettes Personal. Steaks können medium rare bestellt werden und kommen auch in entsprechender Garstufe an.. leider eher eine Seltenheit heutzutage daher besonders erwähnenswert. Komme gerne wieder!

Es war ein sehr netter Abend! Hervorragendes und ausgefallenes Menü mit sehr guten Weinen. Die Chefin hat ein gutes Auge für die Gäste und ist sehr zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Schönes Restaurant, gemütlich eingerichtet mit guter Küche und netten Mitarbeitern. Wir haben das Menü mit den begleitenden Weinen genossen, alles war stimmig.

Als Messeaussteller ein tolles Restaurant in der Nähe der Hallen. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Kommen beim nächsten Mal gerne wieder.

Das Essen war bis auf die getrüffelten Bandnudeln, die eher langweilig daherkamen, sehr gut. Vor allem das Filet mit Morchelrahm war ein Gedicht. Da am Nachbartisch eine Gruppe von 8 Personen tafelte, war es sehr laut in dem eher kleinen Gastraum!

Weniger ist mehr, zumindest was die Anzahl der Gäste angeht. Wir waren zum Restaurant Karussell dort und das Essen war top. Was mir überhaupt nicht gefiel war, dass die Weine direkt im Glas an den Tisch gebracht wurden und nicht aus der Flasche am Tisch eingeschenkt wurde. Das habe ich bisher noch nie erlebt. Service freundlich und sehr bemüht, top.

Der Service war wirklich schlecht und wir mussten zwei Stunden auf unser Essen warten. Dazu war es qualitativ echt nichts besonderes und dafür viel zu teuer. Die Kellnerin war sehr bemüht, was man von der Chefin allerdings nicht behaupten kann.

Wir waren zu viert im Rahmen des Restaurant Karussells. Das Lokal war ausgebucht, trotzdem funktionierte des Service prima, freundlich, achtsam und kompetent. Die Speisen des Menüs schmeckten uns sehr gut, ausgewogen, köstlich und auf dem Punkt. Auch die Weine machten Spaß. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall die Chefin nach Weinen außerhalb der Weinkarte zu fragen. Da gibt es meistens noch etwas Besonderes. Gerne kommen wir wieder :-)

Wir waren letzte Woche zu fünft dort. Das Lokal war bis auf einen weiteren Tisch leer. Dennoch war der Service langsam und wollte auch nichts an uns verdienen, denn sonst wäre er öfter mal vorbeikommen. Das Essen wurde bei 5 Personen nicht zu gleichen Zeit serviert und war bei allen lauwarm. Um 20:15 - wir waren nun alleine im Lokal- hätte man fast ein Paar mit der Begründung, dass die Küche schon schließt, abgewiesen. Sie haben letztendlich doch bleiben können. Fazit: Früher war das Essen besser und warm und kam gleichzeitig an den Tisch. Der Service ist leider weiterhin leider unterirdisch. Bei nur 5 Personen im Restaurant darf das nicht sein. Schade!

Wie immer alles super. Veganes Essen top genauso die Drinks. Publikum gemischt. Musik wirklich toll. Wir kommen immer wieder gern hier hin.

Wunderschönes Restaurant, überragendes Essen, tolles Ambiente, herzliche Bewirtung. Hier stimmt alles. Immer wieder gerne!

Licht und Schatten. An bekannter Wirkungsstätte der „Schote“ sind ein paar zu viele Tische aufgestellt. Dadurch entsteht eine sehr laute Geräuschkulisse. Die Vorspeise Tuna Tataki war durch viel Algensalat und süße Teriyaki Soße nicht ganz fein gelungen. Das Rumpsteak hat nicht dem gewählten Gahrungsgrad entsprochen und war etwas unüblich geschnitten. Die Auswahl an Beilagen ist nicht ganz passend. Es fehlt auch beim 2. Besuch das Abschmecken mit Salz&Pfeffer. Getränke u. Nachtisch sehr ordentlich. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr nett aber nicht immer ganz vom Fach. Koch oder Gastronom konnten wir im Restaurant nicht ausmachen.

Lekker gegeten met een Mexicaans tintje. Ook een beperkt vegetarisch menu. Raad aan om te reserveren. Gezellige atmosfeer.

Mit einer großen Gruppe ein fixiertes Menü bekommen. Qualität ,Quantität vor allem der super nette und aufmerksame Service lassen 5 Sterne zu! das Ambiente ist sehr angenehm, die Auswahl an offenen Weinen ist prima. Gerne komme ich wieder!

Das Restaurant hat eine kleine aber ausgezeichnete Speisekarte. Das Vitello Tonato war schon toll, wurde aber vom Zwiebelrostbraten getoppt - Dry Aged Steak vom feinsten. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das ist ein Lokal für Genießer, aber nichts für Hektiker. Was frisch gemacht wird, braucht auch seine Zeit. Ich kann das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend in der alten Metzgerei. Das Essen und die Getränke waren sehr lecker. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen, wenn ich in der Nähe bin.

Wir müssen den vollen Preis für unseren Burger mit Süßkartoffelpommes zahlen obwohl wir uns über die Pommes beschwert hatten. Sie waren total labbrig und die Kellnerin sagte uns noch im Nachhinein dass es sich um Ersatzware handle und qualitativ nicht gleich sind und deshalb so labbrig seien. Das war wirklich frech! Die Cocktails und der Service waren sonst wie immer super.
