We had dinner there yesterday for our wedding anniversary. The staff is very friendly and often comes by to check if there is anything else you would like as a guest. The food is not only very good, it is also plentiful! We had the grill plate for two people, the price was crazy at €48! At least one person could have easily eaten with us and there would probably still have been a lot. As the waiters passed by, you could also see the size of the individual portions, which were also very decent. Definitely our first address for dinner on our next visit to beautiful Heidelberg. With all the plus points already mentioned, one should also mention the location near the market square, which is beautifully central!

Overall everything tasted great, Only for €9.50 for a warm starter with 5 small slices, + yoghurt on the aubergines, the price is not appropriate. Therefore only 4 ⭐️

Last night we were there and the waiter spilled the drink on me! No proper apology from the owner, no compensation! My wife had to bring me fresh clothes from home! The best thing about the evening was that we were charged a full €416.**! I have never experienced such impudence in my life! Absolute amateurs! Not recommended at all! Never again!!!!!!

Meze tasted bad. In the main course I had a lamb skewer, which was quite ok, it was only one skewer (usually 2 skewers are served), service was attentive. Location is good because you can walk to the old town. Parking is possible at the nearby parking garage.

As a couple, everything was so good. 2× 0.4l in glass with lemon We were not asked whether the lemon was desired! Cola Zero 11€ 2x chicken skewer with side salad 37€ Unfortunately the portion was very small. Bread had to be requested separately. Everything tasted good but it didn't fill me up. Tip to the management to offer a plate of small meze as a welcome meal just to try. I would rather invest a few € in order to win happy returning guests. But the skewers were delicious 😋

Very nice cozy atmosphere. As a main course I had a veal skewer which was very tasty, although the portion was a bit small for just under €24. It is advisable to have an appetizer.

Unfortunately only two vegetarian dishes. Which are basically the same. Had an appetizer beforehand. But it was actually the same as the main course. With the difference that there was still rice. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. I would have hoped for more for the price.

We went there for the first time yesterday based on a recommendation and found it to be a great restaurant overall. The service staff were perfect and the cleanliness was very well maintained and clean despite the age of the facility. The starters were fresh and delicious. The main course wasn't bad either, but the rice could definitely be improved or should be improved. The large plate really made it worse because there was more rice than anything else on the plate and we didn't like it. The shop is definitely an asset for Turkish cuisine as there is a real emphasis on quality and freshness, which is difficult to see in many Turkish restaurants at the moment. I really appreciate this shop because I know how much work goes into being able to offer such fresh food. We thank you for the lovely evening.

I visited this restaurant for the first time two weeks ago. We didn't have a reservation, but we still got a table quickly (not a given for a Friday evening). Before that, I had been to many different Turkish restaurants in the area. This one really impressed me, I hadn't eaten Turkish like this in a long time. The prices are perfectly reasonable for the location, and the food is really high quality. The portions are OK, but to be fair, moderate. Overall great, gladly again :)

A young gentleman of Turkish descent (perhaps the owner) was super friendly. The food sola wasn't for me. Salad is super delicious. My ice cream order was brought to me incorrectly and then it was accepted as such. Not too bad, but I was craving walnut ice cream instead of vanilla. Künefe was a smooth 10/10! Unfortunately I didn't have a latte. Fake ice cream without a latte was just boring. Staff young and dynamic

Meine überarbeitete Version, da die originale zugegebenermaßen nicht freundlich war. Also jetzt mal sachlich: Es ist nichts frisch im Restaurant. Eher eine Sauf Stube als ein Restaurant. Tourimus-Falle. Vorspeiseteller ist bestimmt seit Tagen vorbereitet im Kühlschrank gewesen. Hauptspeisen dauerten sehr lange. Einzige was frisch war, war das Brot Mercimek Suppe wässrig. Die Hauptspeisen waren Lichtjahre von authentischer, türkischer Küche entfernt. Wir haben nur Getränke bezahlt, das war eine Zumutung. Warum? Wir mussten mit unserer Mutter in dieser ach so tollen Kneipe auf nicht frisches Essen warten, was nicht schmeckte und preislich unverschämt teuer war, der entsprechenden Qualität. Und dann am Ende noch mit den Kellnern und "Chefköchen" zu diskutieren warum getrockneter Bulgur nichts mit frisch zu tun hat war die Krönung.

Die Bedienung ist freundlich und hilfreich, die Atmosphäre ist sehr einladend und das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Es gibt nichts negatives zu sagen. Das alles sogar zu einem guten Preis! Die Portionen sind ordentlich. Künefe und Yogurtlu Kebab kann ich nur empfehlen. Weiter so!

Delicious Turkish meal with German pilsners. The fried soft cheese appetizer and lamb entrees were incredible. It felt like more of a local spot and was quieter while the Christmas markets were packed. Our server was friendly, helpful, and spoke English. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for something other than German food in Heidelberg.

Super Ambiente, Restaurant Besitzer ist Super freundlich und die Servicekräfte sind sehr nett, kein Wunder dass dieses Restaurant so einen guten Ruf hat, wer da einkehren möchte muss vorher reservieren sonst hat man da keine Chance auf gut Glück da ein zu kehren da es brechend voll ist, und es werden nur Speisen aus der türkischen und Arabische Küche serviert was ich richtig gut finde. PS: alles wird zu 100 Prozent frisch zubereitet was auch sehr nobel ist.

Tasty food, friendly waiters, all around a very nice experience :) I've had the lamb shoulder, the meat was tender and aromatic and went very well with the sauce and side of rice and zucchini. I can also recommend the fig desert with walnut and ice cream, it does together perfectly.

This restaurant is a gem. The atmosphere when you enter is magnificent, it is almost cliché from Turkey but at least we feel transported there. The food is good. Although the restaurant serves food that makes us think about Turkey, it is notactually what Turkish people actually eat every day (I got this information from my Turkish friend). The service was very polite and nice. The portions are small.

Freundlicher Service in einem gemütlichen Ambiente, egal ob drinnen oder draußen. Die Auswahl aus der türkischen Küche ist vielfältig und bietet eine große Auswahl an leckeren Speisen.

Geschmacklich war das Essen sehr gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte teilweise jedoch leider nicht. Beim Sultan Kebap war der Fleischanteil sehr überschaubar und die Portion Tarator war klein.

Dieses Restaurant ist absolut empfehlenswert!!! Wir waren in unserem Kurzurlaub zwei mal dort essen, weil einfach alles passt! Das Essen ist phantastisch, das Personal sehr sehr nett und aufmerksam und das Restaurant ist stilvoll eingerichtet! Besonders erwähnenswert ist, dass man sich immer willkommen gefühlt hat. Ein wunderschöner Abend in sehr angenehmer Atmosphäre. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt und wir waren rundherum zufrieden. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten uns entschlossen endlich mal in der "Alten Gundtei" Essen zu gehen. Wir wollten schmecken ob das Essen dort tatsächlich so lecker ist, wie der Ruf. Unsere persönliche Bewertung: - die Bedienung war freundlich. - die Speisekarte war nicht überfüllt - es gab auch alkoholische Getränke Was uns nicht gefallen hat.... Das Essen war scheinbar vorgewärmt. Das Grillfleisch war nicht heiß, obwohl es laut Speisekarte frisch vom Grill kam. Der Reis war ebenfalls lauwarm. Wir waren schon enttäuscht. Damit hatte wir nicht gerechnet! Das schlimmste war..... Eine Stunde später ging die Pupserei los. Woran lag das wohl? (Qualität der Ware?) Nichts desto trotz. Wir haben wo anders schon schlechter gegessen. Bildet euch selbst eure Meinung!

Tolles türkisches Restaurant mit authentischer Küche und fairen Preisen. Waren schon öfter hier und jedes Mal vom freundlichen Service, dem Flair und den leckeren Speisen begeistert. Ich empfehle besonders den Fisch, der immer perfekt zubereitet ist.

Hier hat alles gestimmt. Tolles Essen, gute Getränkeauswahl und sehr freundliches Personal. Man sitzt sehr gemütlich Oriental.

Sehr zum empfehlen, hatten zur Vorspeise die gegrillten Peperoni und die schwarzen Oliven mit frischen und noch warmen Fladenbrot. Zur Hauptspeise 1x Lammspieß mit Käse überbacken und 1x das vegetarische Gemüse mit Schafskäse. Vom Anfang bis zum Ende total lecker, und richtig gut gewürzt und was ganz wichtig war, was man auch nicht wirklich oft bekommt, dass das Essen HEIß war. Weiter so 👍👍👍

Wir hatten etwas Besonderes in Heidelberg gesucht, sind bei Tripadvisor auf die "alte Gundtei" gestossen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Reservierung per Telefon funktionierte problemlos, Begrüßung und Tischzuweisung hat super geklappt. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und urig, vielleicht nicht mediteran aber absolut gemütlich. Bedienung und Srevice sehr zuvorkommend, keine lange Wartezeiten. Der Chef erkundigt sich während dem Essen nach dem Rechten......Das Essen war sehr gut, Vorspeisenpaltte wirklich zu empfehlen (obwohl preislich schon am oberen Ende), Hauptspeisen ebenfalls sehr lecker. Viele Gerichte werden auf dem Holzkohlegrill gebraten.....das schmeckt man sofort. Ich hatte den Lammrücken aus dem Ofen. Dieser war wirklich butterzart geschmort und geschmacklich hervorragend. Auch die Platte für 2 Personen ist sehr lecker, das Fleisch allerdings schon fast etwas zu lange gegrillt und deshalb ganz leicht rocken. Das ist aber Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Der Laden war voll bis auf den letzten Platz was ja auch für sich spricht. Leider gibt es keine Außengastro oder Biergarten. Die Preise sind in Bezug auf Qaulität in Ordnung. Wir kommen sicher einmal wieder.

Wir hatten die Meze als Vorspeise und die Alte-Gundtei-Platte, beides für zwei Personen. Was soll ich sagen, es hat restlos alles geschmeckt. Bei gemischten Platten eher eine Seltenheit. Dazu der sehr zuvorkommende Service und ein Ambiente, das einen das da Draußen vergessen lässt. Danke für den schönen Abend, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Das türkische Restaurant in HD schlechthin. Netter Service, tolle Gerichte und eine 1a Lage, ruhig am Rande der Altstadt. Die gemischte Vorspeise für eine Person reicht locker für zwei. Der Salat mit gegrillten Lamm ist lecker, leider mit Dressing aus dem Supermarkt (dafür gibt es einen Punkt Abzug). Gut, dass es keine Siebträgerespressomaschine gibt. Hier wird ein Tee danach genussvoll getrunken. Espresso gibt es beim Italiener.

Zu Zeiten von Corona entschlossen wir uns, die lokale Gastronomie zu unterstützen. Die Alte Gundtei hat uns nicht enttäuscht. Wir bestellten allerlei Vegetarisches und natürlich auch Lamm. Das Essen konnte zur gewünschten Zeit abgeholt werden und wir bekamen sogar noch einen Raki. Der Service ist sehr umsichtig und freundlich. Das Essen war to-go gut verpackt und schmeckte sehr lecker.

Pro: Schmeckt gut, Besitzer nett, Essen kommt schnell, gute Weinkarte Contra: die Teller sind quasi leer. Davon wird man nicht satt, leider. Keine Kaffeemaschine. İn ein Restaurant dieser Art gehört ein Siebtrâger oder mindestens ein Vollautomat, aber es existiert eine Senseo 😟

Wir waren zu Fünft dort und hatten gemischte Vorspeisen und gemischte Hauptspeisen. Der Service war freundlich. Ein Teller war schmutzig, wurde aber sofort ausgetauscht. Das gegrillte Brot wurde erst vergessen und war dann etwas schwarz. Ansonsten waren die Speisen lecker.
