We were here with a medium-sized group, and many were relatively disappointed with the food. The roast pork was very tough, and the steaks were barely edible. We ordered medium, but they delivered it completely cooked and tough. After a lovely day, we weren't in the mood for arguments. If a restaurant of this size can't put 10 identical steaks on the table on a weekend, they should find another business. The rating here is way too high anyway. What a shame!!!

A solid, Bavarian-style restaurant in Stegen am Ammersee. The seating is very pleasant both inside and outside.

This is among our favourite places to eat out. The waiters are really friendly and efficient. The food is fabulous. And the beer is great. Lovely location both inside or outside in the beer garden.

If you only order something small (sausage salad) – cold and it takes longer than 15 hot dishes – we were there as a group. When asked, they tell you: "It'll come soon enough..." The group was a little surprised.

We were a bit disappointed with the food; for the price, we expected a bit more. The creamy goulash was just a slightly watery paprika sauce, and the Kaiserschmarrn was really greasy. The ambiance was very nice, and the service was good. The other guests who were there with us apparently made more fortunate choices and were more satisfied. All in all, it was nice, but not an option for us.

What happened to the old Stegen Brewery? 🥺 One or two years ago, you could still get really good food here! Today, the food is more like a snack bar, boring, lacking in finesse, lacking in love, nothing special, nothing to look forward to when you remember how great the dishes used to be! We were surprised when we arrived: the Inning drive-through is closed, but you could drive up to the brewery, yet the outdoor seating was barely occupied, and the interior was completely empty. Overall, far too expensive for the deteriorating quality! No longer recommended. 3 stars only because the service was polite and friendly, and the ambiance is still nice. In the summer, it's pleasantly cool inside. But we won't be coming back, except for a drink at most. It's a shame; there was a time when we were more than thrilled!

Came here for an afterwork with the team, we waited 2 hours for our food to arrive. The service was terribly slow and the waiter took another 15 minutes just to pay! The food was average! Honestly for 31 euros for the steak and kasespaetzle, i was expecting something gourmet, but the steak was nice but the spaetzle was very disappointing. If the wait for like 15 mins, it would have been acceptable. However , the 2 hour wait really destroyed our complete experience. Great spot to get a drink, but better off elsewhere if you dont want to wait for 2 hours for your food!

A real hit! We ended our bike tour here at the Old Brewery. I'm thrilled! Nothing is too much trouble for the host; very friendly, informative conversation, delicious food, and the beer is delicious! A highlight was the conversation with the owner, who briefly told us the history of the building. Respect!

The Obazda only came with two small, old slices of ciabatta – for €14! Very disappointing. Not for us.

We were in the old brewery with some colleagues. The atmosphere in the historic vault is something special. The staff are very accommodating, respond to all special requests in a friendly manner and the food is excellent. Not to forget, of course, the in-house beer. Super! There are different varieties! I'll be back soon! PS: In summer there is a special summer beer with citrus hops! There are always new specialties. Two years ago there was an anniversary beer. Sensational. Let me know if you brew it again. Special thanks to Mr. Schneider and Ground Lift for the tour and comments on the history of the building. A very ambitious team! Thank you very much!

Was there by bike, very comfortable to sit outside if the weather was good, not as crowded as the locations directly on the lake, quiet and relaxed. Beer was very good.

Great food and very tasty beer from their own brewery. The service is unobtrusively friendly. We sat outside in the small beer garden with a view of the countryside and the lake. Anyone who likes to relax and be away from the crowds is in good hands here. In addition to changing events, there is even a cinema in the building.

We ordered takeaway - an absolute disgrace. The so-called roast pork consisted of a flaxy piece of neck ridge and had nothing to do with a real Bavarian roast pork. A disaster in terms of taste and absolutely unacceptable in terms of quality. It's a shame that something like this is even sold as roast pork in Bavaria. Very disappointing - we will definitely not order here again.

Nice and quick service. Reasonable waiting time for the food. The kitchen is decent, the food is hot and thoughtfully prepared. The homemade beer tastes very good and is close to Bavaria's best beers and is brewed from the highest quality local ingredients. The location is very attractive, stylish, authentic and well-kept in the Upper Bavarian style. The clientele is pleasant, friendly and lovable and consists of locals from the area as well as tourists. Staying inside and outside in the historic architecture is very pleasant, the Ammersee is within sight and a few hundred meters away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the mainstream in Stegen. The prices are reasonable and slightly cheaper than in the rest of the surrounding area. All in all, a very nice destination after a walk or sport at the lake.

Excellent inn, I personally really liked it. Went there for the first time on the recommendation of friends and we weren't disappointed. Were there for the first time and everything was great, from the food to the ambience. Very friendly staff, very accommodating. Would come back at any time.

Everything I could think of was disappointing across the board! 🙄 The oven-fresh roast pork turned out to be a roast from the neck? 🤔 slightly pink on the inside, making it chewy, like chewing gum! The best part was the potato dumpling and the coleslaw. I told the waiter/boss about it, I probably wouldn't have done it. 😏From that moment on, the gentleman was a bit annoyed, I recognized the affront aimed at him. Hatten für 5 Erwachsene für 12.30 reserviert und waren ausser 1 Tisch alleinige Gäste !!! Bei Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt dass es mind. 30 Min. dauert da das Essen noch nicht fertig ist. Nach über eine Stunde kam das Essen wie folgt: 2x Schweinebraten nicht durchgegart, noch blutig, mit einer Wassersoße, 1x Kalbsgulasch, zäh! 1 angebrannter harter Kaiserschmarrn, 1 Bräuhausschnitzel mit undefiniertem verschmiertem Belag und loser brökeliger Panade, dazu ein ungeniesbarter Kartoffelsalat vermutlich Eimersalat. Nach Reklamation ein grinsender Kellner der dann einen Kollegen (etwas freundlicher) zum Kassieren rief. Das Schweinefleisch wurde von uns mitgenommen und zuhause fertiggebraten!!! Dies alles zu einem dermaßen teurem Preis. Nie mehr wieder !!

For the. I can't comment on the food as it never arrived even though there was nothing going on. Service very slow but nice. Ambience is great. Beer garden is nice too, but beauty isn't everything. We left after waiting half an hour for dessert.

Great location, but completely overwhelmed service (although very nice) and bad food! Despite the moderate number of guests, we had to wait an hour from our arrival until we were served 2 pork schnitzels with potato salad and then received a carelessly prepared schnitzel that was not fully baked and far too greasy.

Were there yesterday, April 11th, 2025 around 6:45 p.m. with 4 people. And all I can say is never again. Were overlooked several times by the service, even though the beer garden wasn't full. Had to wait almost 20 minutes for the card and another as long for the order. Drinks came along at some point and were still wrong. After another 30 minutes of waiting, we got tired of it and canceled the meal. Drinks were on the house as an apology. We won't be coming back. Service unprofessional and inattentive. Too long waiting times. No information from the staff. Not recommended!!!

We waited 1.5 hours for the food and actually wanted to go to the cinema afterwards. Despite asking several times, we were not informed whether the food was still coming or not. Then we left without food and without a movie. It can happen that something goes wrong. We would understand that. But making guests wait so long and not communicating is a no go. I have years of gastronomy experience myself. Too bad. Was a very frustrating experience.

Der Rostbraten war trocken und zäh und leider war auch der gar Punkt absolut nicht getroffen. Die Rosmarin Kartoffeln kamen aus der Pfanne ohne Rosmarin dafür mit Schnittlauch garniert . Das Schnitzel war zu wenig Fleisch für die Panade . Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam

Das gesamte Essen ein großer Reinfall, nach einer Wartezeit von 1 Stunde und 20 Minuten kam 1 Wiener Schnitzel noch roh in der Mitte, 2 Münchner Schnitzel angebrannt, Schweinsbraten lauwarm mit matschigem Knödel. Das rohe, reklamierte Wiener Schnitzel kam kurze Zeit später zurück, genau das gleiche, bereits angeschnittene Schnitzel, vor Fett triefend und immer noch roh, mit den gleichen, kalten Pommes von der 1. Bestellung! Hungrig und frustriert verließen wir 5 das Restaurant.

Unfortunately we were very unlucky at our family dinner with 6 people. We received our first drink after 35 minutes and our first meal after 1.4 hours! Half of it cold. The Munich/Brauhaus schnitzel had one side burnt, the second had one side not breaded, tough. The veal schnitzel is raw inside! If you complained, you got the cut schnitzel from the deep fryer back with cold fries! Paid a lot of money and went home frustrated with hungry stomachs. A round of schnapps was offered as compensation!!

We were at the Old Brewery Stegen on March 8th, 2025. The weather was great and the terrace was well attended. Despite the large volume, the service was well organized and extremely friendly. The food was fantastic and the view of the lake was heavenly. Just a beautiful day. We'll definitely be back.

We recently spontaneously went to the small, cozy beer garden in the evening and treated ourselves to a delicious roast pork with dumplings and cabbage. Plus a fresh beer and friendly service. We are happy to recommend it.

Friendly service, but the food is not recommended. Käsespätzle seem like a convenience product and the salad was carelessly prepared. The prices are clearly too high for this quality. The ambience seems cold and also loveless. The dining room is poorly lit. We then received espresso on the house for our complaint.

After the restaurant was recommended to us by good friends, we ate there today. Unfortunately it was not recommended. I ordered a veal Wiener Schnitzel. After the meal had already taken over an hour, I received a schnitzel that was unfortunately still half raw. Which shouldn't happen but can happen because the restaurant was full because of an event. But what I then found a no-go was that they put the same schnitzel back in the pan and then brought it back to me with my now cold fries and still half-raw schnitzel (it took 10 minutes before I could complain about it because no one came. The next time the next waiter came about 45 minutes later when we had asked to pay for the fourth time. And then unfortunately a very unfriendly employee or I assume it was the boss. The one There are pat answers when you ask at the bar to finally be able to pay. It's actually a shame, it's a cool location, but it's no fun to eat there.

Our visit was just a coincidence. We just wanted to have a quick drink on the way home to Munich. What was a short stay then turned into an interesting, longer stay where we were able to experience the joy of life on Lake Ammersee in the old Stegen brewery with a home-brewed snack and Kaiserschmarrn. In addition to the extremely friendly staff, we were also lucky enough to meet the owner of the brewery, Mr. P. Schneider. Dear Mr. Schneider, reading your house postille special edition 2025 combined with the vivid description of some events is a real win-win story. We'd love to come back! Just a great experience!!! The food was a dream and the service was more than special. We had the Wiener Schnitzel and the spinach dumpling. We don't know how such phenomenal dishes can be served at such a fair price. Guys please keep it up!!!! There was also plenty of entertainment for the children (picture books, painting materials, etc.). We'll definitely be back!!!

The food wasn't bad, but if you buy a home-brewed beer in swing-top bottles to take away, you're also buying into the stress of the landlord being very reluctant to take the bottles back (a €5 deposit each! It was called a "deposit" when you bought it!). Only after a lengthy discussion were they willing to pay us the deposit again. That really spoiled the experience here

Unfortunately the taste is just mediocre. Tastes like Convinian. Prices far too high for these qualities. Service friendly. The ambience of an old brewery is beautifully designed. The kitchen has a lot of potential for improvement.

New Year's Eve celebration for the more mature audience. The performance by Klaus Kohler deserves special mention: a professional piano cabaret that is well worth seeing. That's about it. Buffett (€75) of medium quality. The sporty, bearded young men from “Service” (short haircut, white sneakers) were obviously interested in selling bottles. Apple spritzer etc. at the counter please. Party from 9 p.m. (including cabaret another €65) is rather poor. Watchdog (see above) always present. Rock band ok Conclusion: Uncharming rip-off, not again.

Eine super Adresse wo ich die letzten Jahre öfter hingegangen bin mit Familie und Freunde. Ich bin sehr kritisch wenn es um Restaurants geht, als Student bin ich limitiert im Budget und wenn man mal ein paar mal im Jahr ausgeht möchte man maximal für sein Geld bekommen. Gleichzeitig koche ich sehr viel und kann gut einschätzen wenn etwas gelungen ist oder nicht. Die letzten Male als ich da war, war einfach alles top. Erstmal ist die Bedienung fantastisch. Immer gut gelaunt, immer am lächeln, Essen kommt schnell auf den Tisch. Man fühlt sich einfach wohl dort. Dann: das Bier! Ich trinke so viel Bier in Bayern. Hier schmeckt es mir am besten. Und das sagen auch alle Freunde die ich mitgebracht habe. Die meisten nehmen ein Schluck Bier und sagen einfach: "Oha, geil!". Das Essen ist toll (siehe Fotos). Das Wienerschnitzel war perfekt, das Schweinebraten war zart und saftig, die Sosse dazu sehr konzentriet und geschmackig. Das Kalbsrahmgulasch ist gut abgeschmeckt, die Butterspätzle sind perfekt etc etc... Es ist schwer gute bayrische Küche zu finden weil viele Konzepte sehr touristisch sind und dann eher Menge produzieren statt Qualität. Hier jedoch bekommt man alles, super bayrische Küche, mit Liebe gemacht und dazu ein selbstgebrautes lokales Bier was toll ist.

Characteristic Bavarian inn. Welcoming and authentic atmosphere, simply fantastic location near the lake, attentive and friendly staff, fair prices, excellent food. In particular we tried the crispy roast (Krustenbraten) baked with beer sauce, accompanied by red cabbage (very particular, with cinnamon) and potato dumplings; really amazing! Compliments to the chef Truly one of the best Bavarian inns I know! Furthermore, good home-produced beer 😉

Today, after a long time, we went to the old brewery in Stegen for dinner again. We were really impressed by the new dishes on the new menu and ordered some straight away. The new chef brings a breath of fresh air. As always, the service was extremely courteous and super nice. It was very tasty and we would love to come back.

We wanted to have a nice few minutes and eat something. But moving the table a little into the sun or setting up a new small table - we wanted to do both ourselves - was refused rather rudely. Well then not. We don't have to leave our money where we don't want it. If the waiter was the tenant Shukri himself - there is a similarity - then congratulations.
