A quaint restaurant with nice staff and pretty good food in generous portions. The Angus steak with fried potatoes was an absolute delight, the pork medallions with mushrooms were also very good. Before you overeat: Boxes are available to take away any leftovers ;)

Eating there without making a reservation wasn't a problem, everything was very flexible, the staff was super friendly, the food was great and the service was super fast. The atmosphere is what you would imagine an old brewery to be like. All in all, it's a great place to go out for dinner

Established pub/restaurant in the heart of Hitdorf... (Unfortunately now almost the only one... 😕) Known for its XXL schnitzels.

A good restaurant has become a hell of a restaurant. Were greeted unfriendly by the staff on Friday. Must have had a bad day. Food was dry, but now great again. Almost all new staff, except the ones with the long hair. There still needs to be an exchange program running. Otherwise it's a nice old restaurant.

It was very busy on a Monday. We were glad we made a reservation. Overall, I was very satisfied and recommend the Alte Brewery.

Friendly service, good and inexpensive food!

We went there for dinner today with 4 adults, 2 children, 1 baby and 1 dog. It was pretty full but everything got to us super quickly. The food came hot and at the same time after about 20 minutes. The service regularly asked about your well-being and whether anything was still missing. The service was absolutely friendly and competent. I had the rump steak with herb butter, which alone as a meal deserves the full 5 stars. My daughter had the chicken nuggets, which make your mouth water just looking at them. No pressed cardboard from the frozen food store, freshly prepared, you can see, smell and taste it. My best friend had the Cordon Bleu, which was also freshly prepared. Not tough or dry, really tender and juicy. For 2 adults and 1 child, food and drinks, the price of €67 was absolutely reasonable. I can really recommend the old brewery and it won't be our last visit there :)

We were able to get a table for 14 people at very short notice on Saturday evening. We came especially from Wuppertal because we had only heard good things about this restaurant. We all ordered schnitzel... super tasty, super large and the price was totally right. The service was very friendly. 100% recommended. Always my pleasure :)

No mention on Google, on the site or social media channels about a holiday. I emailed a few days ago to make a reservation for July 18, 2024, but did not receive an email back. Had to read on site that they were closed due to holidays. Worthless.

My wife and I were there on June 27, 2024 and are thrilled. Great service, very tasty food and an attractive location despite the nearby main street. The Greek starter platter...very tasty. The pike perch and the grill plate were also very good. The only drawback (if any)...it was just too much. Conclusion: Anyone staying in Lev-Hitdorf or the surrounding area should definitely stop by and enjoy it. We'll definitely come back.

An “old brewery” with 3 beers on tap. Service friendly, but concept and decor are really old and boring.

We were just coming back from the highway from a weekend trip in Holland and it was only 4:00 p.m. We were very hungry and hardly any restaurants or kitchens were open at this time of day. Quickly googled where you could go out to eat and we came across the old brewery in Hitdorf. Since I've heard and read very good things about the old brewery, we were excited. We were lucky - we got a parking space right in front of the front door. So we went into the store and were greeted in a very friendly manner by two young ladies. As soon as we ordered Kölsch for ourselves, it was already on the table! Top ! I ordered a pepper schnitzel with fried potatoes and my companion ordered a schnitzel with croquettes gratinated with cheese and spinach. Then you could hear the schnitzels being beaten and freshly prepared in the kitchen. After a short time the plates arrived and looked very good! Huge schnitzel, fried beautifully golden yellow, juicy and delicious! At the end we even got an ouzo on the house - which is no longer a given these days! Delicious, freshly prepared food and at really fair prices!! We left the old brewery full and happy, but we will definitely come back here because as a guest you feel well looked after and valued!

We always enjoy eating here. Whether it's schnitzel, bifteki, tarte flambée or burgers...everything is very tasty. And the staff is always super friendly and concerned about the well-being of the guests. Price/performance ratio is also great. Large portions at a more than fair price. In summer you can also sit outside. In any case, it's better to make a reservation for Friday or Saturday evenings, otherwise you may not get a table.

Overall the brewery is a good restaurant. If you like XXL schnitzel, this is the right place for you. Unfortunately, we saved on sauce in the side salad and apparently the salt pot was swapped with the sugar pot in the hunter's sauce. This was sweet for our taste. And with the XXL brewery schnitzel there was only 1 fried egg + 1 slice of bacon on the large piece of meat.

Good cuisine 1a Jägerschnitzel I am very excited. I ordered Jägerschnitzel with fries and a side salad for what I thought was a reasonable price. I got two schnitzels, each of which would pass for a single portion in other restaurants. Plus a generous portion of fries and a fresh salad. The service was super nice and the atmosphere was cozy.

Here you will find a restaurant (pub) with a long carnival history. The great copper kettles in the middle of the shop are worth seeing. You can enjoy the sun and the beer on the large outdoor terrace. My XXL schnitzel today was a dream. It's available Monday-Friday Various lunch options at great prices. You really feel very comfortable here. PS. I would reserve seats by phone in the evening as it always gets full

Wir waren heute Abend zum ersten Mal in der Lokalität und sind bedient worden, als wären wir Stammgäste. Der Service äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Qualität des von uns ausgewählten Essens ( Schnitzel ) hervorragend. Vor der Bestellung wurde uns eine Rindersuppe und nach dem Essen ein Ouzo auf Kosten des Hauses angeboten. Selten so einen hervorragenden Service erlebt. Nicht unser letzter Besuch. Das Lokal ist sehr zu empfehlen

Waren auf ein Paar Kölsch und Wein dort. Perfekter Service und was selten ist 'kleine' Weinflasche, 0,25 l, bekommen. Wir freuen uns auf den nächsten Besuch. Persönlich finde ich das Spendenschiffchen für die DGZRS vorbildlich.

Wir waren letzten Sonntag dort und kommen gerne wieder. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen sehr schmackhaft. Außerdem stimmt das Preisleistungsverhältnis.

Als wir angekommen sind kam auch direkt schon der Kellner und gab uns die Speisekarte, er fragte dann auch ob wir schon etwas trinken möchten. Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell und das Essen haben wir dann auch bestellt. Die Portionen war sehr groß und auch sehr lecker, wenn man einen großen Appetit hat ist man dort sehr gut aufgehoben. Wenn man es nicht schafft alles aufzuessen packen sie es einen gerne zum mitnehmen ein. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen da es sehr gut schmeckt und ein sehr nettes Personal dort arbeitet. Jeder Zeit immer wieder.

Wir haben auf unserer Radtour einen Stop eingelegt. Obwohl wir vor 12 Uhr da waren, bekamen wir Mittagessen. Service und essen top. Ich hatte einen Salat mit Zanderfilet. Sehr gut.

Wir waren heute spontan dort. Der Service ist vorbildlich und das Essen einfach nur lecker. Die Reste wurden eingepackt und durften mit nach Hause. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber.

Absolut empfehlenswert! Wir haben super gegessen, Schnitzel sind riesig aber 1 A Qualität! Das Personal ist mega freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
