Alte Brauerei in Leverkusen

We had reserved a table three days in advance. Be aware that they also have high tables with bar stools. Even though we explained that my wife had recently had leg surgery and couldn't sit at a regular table, and that these are only partially suitable for older people, we were assigned one. We were told that everything was reserved. The food was good and plentiful, and the service was good. After our meal, we had to vacate the table because they needed the space. Unacceptable!

I went back to the "Alte Brauerei" for schnitzel and was more than satisfied; it was delicious! After asking the very friendly waitress Lili about the origin of the ingredients, she assured me of very high quality – and that all tips are shared among the entire staff. Very delicious food and very nice waiters. If you're around Leverkusen and searching for traditional food, do not miss this place! Do not eat too much during the day if you come to this place to try the XXL schnitzel (anyway you can take away if you do not finish the dish). We went in the evening and waited a little because there were a lot of people, so it's understandable. But you can take this time to enjoy the atmosphere and relax a little.

We were too far into the Alte Brauerei. It was a Friday evening with a reservation, of course. The table was so-so, as it was on a platform with a walkway. The platform vibrated as soon as someone walked past. We both ordered rump steak, and I asked for croquettes instead of the fries offered on the menu. We weren't asked how it was done, so they simply served it to us English. The quality of the meat was superb, and it was still tasty. What was less funny: instead of my partner's very generous portion of fries, I got five!!! croquettes. It looked bizarre even when the plates were brought out. The kitchen and service should have recognized immediately that this wasn't appropriate.

We came here on a recommendation, and it was by no means an understatement. Delicious salad, good dressing, huge portions, and top-notch sauces. There were two points of criticism: the fried potatoes were without bacon and, for my taste, could have spent another two minutes in the pan, and the schnitzel could have been a bit thinner. But everything tasted really good, so it still gets full stars. Value for money: Unbeatable, I'd even say it's too cheap!

Be sure to try the schnitzels. For a more than fair price, you can get wonderfully large schnitzels of various kinds here. Instead of the usual fries or fried potatoes, you can also have a large salad at no extra charge. The prices for drinks are also on the lower end. The service is friendly, very nice and professionally quick. You can also sit outside, although the through traffic is a bit annoying.

We went there spontaneously with two families and had a really good meal! XXL schnitzel (and that lives up to its name 😄) in all variations, pork medallions, children's plates (also very generously portioned) ... all highly recommended 👍 Even the growing boys rolled home after the schnitzels 😂 Leftover schnitzels, chicken nuggets etc. were packed up and enjoyed even the following day! A real highlight in Hitdorf! The Old Brewery in Hitdorf is a real insider tip for everyone who appreciates good food and warm hospitality. The ambience combines rustic charm with a feel-good atmosphere - you immediately feel welcome. The service was simply great: attentive, friendly and wonderfully uncomplicated. You can immediately tell that people work here with passion. The absolute highlight for me was the “Alte Brewery” schnitzel – tender meat, perfectly breaded and topped with crispy bacon and a wonderfully fried fried egg. A taste experience that you won't soon forget! Plus fresh side dishes, all lovingly prepared and served to perfection. If you are in the area, you should definitely stop by here. A place where enjoyment and hospitality are very important. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

A few days ago we went to the “Alte Brewery” again. We always feel very comfortable here, not least because of the staff, who are very attentive and friendly. However, the very best for me are still the Greek wines.

Regardless of the super friendly staff, the food is incredibly good for the price/performance ratio. If you haven't eaten there yet, you should definitely go there. There's a lot of variety On selection of dishes. On Sunday I lost a necklace that is emotionally very close to my heart. Was notified today, found by staff. So it couldn't be more honest.

Beautiful, quaint restaurant. You can also just have a beer at the bar. The food is incredibly delicious and plentiful. A great selection on the menu, and the prices are right! Very friendly and quick service. Even the little touches that are no longer there: salt and pepper are on the table. Fries come with mayo and ketchup without asking. The bill is still written on a beer mat, the old-fashioned way. You don't just get a bill slapped in your face afterward without a quick check to make sure the individual items are correct. I'd be happy to go back!

Had a nice evening yesterday, everything was perfect in the restaurant

A middle-aged lady brought the drinks to our table and then tried to give us dating tips. It was so cringe that we quickly drank and left. It could be that the regular guests tolerate something like that - but we were there for the first time and found it simply invasive and extremely unpleasant.

Cozy atmosphere and very attentive and friendly service. The Greek starter platter is highly recommended, as is the XXL schnitzel. We would come again and again!

Established pub/restaurant in the heart of Hitdorf... (Unfortunately now almost the only one... 😕) Known for its XXL schnitzels.

A good restaurant has become a hell of a restaurant. Were greeted unfriendly by the staff on Friday. Must have had a bad day. Food was dry, but now great again. Almost all new staff, except the ones with the long hair. There still needs to be an exchange program running. Otherwise it's a nice old restaurant.

The service is friendly and on the ball. The food is solid, but cannot inspire. Typical brewery cuisine without highlights. Absolutely okay for Leverkusen-Hitdorf.

Friendly service, good and inexpensive food!

We went there for dinner today with 4 adults, 2 children, 1 baby and 1 dog. It was pretty full but everything got to us super quickly. The food came hot and at the same time after about 20 minutes. The service regularly asked about your well-being and whether anything was still missing. The service was absolutely friendly and competent. I had the rump steak with herb butter, which alone as a meal deserves the full 5 stars. My daughter had the chicken nuggets, which make your mouth water just looking at them. No pressed cardboard from the frozen food store, freshly prepared, you can see, smell and taste it. My best friend had the Cordon Bleu, which was also freshly prepared. Not tough or dry, really tender and juicy. For 2 adults and 1 child, food and drinks, the price of €67 was absolutely reasonable. I can really recommend the old brewery and it won't be our last visit there :)

We were able to get a table for 14 people at very short notice on Saturday evening. We came especially from Wuppertal because we had only heard good things about this restaurant. We all ordered schnitzel... super tasty, super large and the price was totally right. The service was very friendly. 100% recommended. Always my pleasure :)

My wife and I were there on June 27, 2024 and are thrilled. Great service, very tasty food and an attractive location despite the nearby main street. The Greek starter platter...very tasty. The pike perch and the grill plate were also very good. The only drawback (if any)...it was just too much. Conclusion: Anyone staying in Lev-Hitdorf or the surrounding area should definitely stop by and enjoy it. We'll definitely come back.

An “old brewery” with 3 beers on tap. Service friendly, but concept and decor are really old and boring.

We were just coming back from the highway from a weekend trip in Holland and it was only 4:00 p.m. We were very hungry and hardly any restaurants or kitchens were open at this time of day. Quickly googled where you could go out to eat and we came across the old brewery in Hitdorf. Since I've heard and read very good things about the old brewery, we were excited. We were lucky - we got a parking space right in front of the front door. So we went into the store and were greeted in a very friendly manner by two young ladies. As soon as we ordered Kölsch for ourselves, it was already on the table! Top ! I ordered a pepper schnitzel with fried potatoes and my companion ordered a schnitzel with croquettes gratinated with cheese and spinach. Then you could hear the schnitzels being beaten and freshly prepared in the kitchen. After a short time the plates arrived and looked very good! Huge schnitzel, fried beautifully golden yellow, juicy and delicious! At the end we even got an ouzo on the house - which is no longer a given these days! Delicious, freshly prepared food and at really fair prices!! We left the old brewery full and happy, but we will definitely come back here because as a guest you feel well looked after and valued!
