The lunch was exceptionally tasty and there was a great atmosphere. Service was impeccable and quick. We recommend kale dishes in autumn/winter. We'll definitely be back

Traditional German cuisine for reasonable money.

Exactly what we were looking for. Even though it was full we still managed to get a table for 4 people, I recommend reserving for a Saturday evening :) The food was delicious and the beer too!

One of the oldest locations in Bielefeld. Good regional cuisine that also offers sessional dishes. A quaint, cozy facility with a good atmosphere. The staff is friendly, attentive and always trying hard.

We first had a beer, then took a short walk through the old town and then went in for lunch. Service friendly and quick. Food was good and portions were normal. Ambience is really great. It was nice and well priced. Thank you very much

Great little beer pub, highly recommended

Very nice pub where you can also eat delicious food. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our dog was given treats and water. Prices are definitely appropriate. Highly recommended.

Authentic old world German restaurant and pub. We went here twice during our 2022 Kitchen Fair visit and 3x during our 2024 visit. The food is delicious and authentic. We usually order the seasonal items and add a few other tasty bites. It’s too much food yet great to experience all the different flavors. The pub is small and cozy with good beers on tap. Recent visit for dinner was solo and Katja went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable. Huge appreciation for her! 🥰She remembered my name 2 days later when I popped into the pub for a beer. Mahalo🌺

I visited Bielefeld for a week on business and was blown away by the traditional food and beer on the first day. I returned twice more because of the excellent food quality, service, and atmosphere.

Typically German bar and restaurant. Tables on the street for the bar, and the restaurant is indoors. Typical German decor. The restaurant is a little stuffy in summer. We were very well taken care of. Delicious food, but nothing very special.

Good home cooking with local beer in the heart of Bielefeld!

Had a delicious lunch with my wife today. Plus a perfectly tapped KÖLSCH, in the fresh air. What more could you want on a summer day? Plus very nice service and moderate prices. We'd love to come back.

There are 4 stars just for the bar part. Careful attention is paid to ensuring that you don’t get thirsty in the first place 😉. Next time we will also try the kitchen.

Good pepper steak, unfortunately with a bacon edge, which could have been removed in the kitchen immediately after frying. The salad was a bit dry without dressing, a shame.

We easily got a place for two in the evening. Drinks and food were served quickly, were very good and just the right amount. The next day we were there in the afternoon for a beer and sitting outside. It was very nice both times.

Haben abends zu zweit problemlos einen Platz bekommen. Getränke und Essen wurden schnell serviert, waren sehr gut und genau die richtige Menge. Am nächsten Tag waren wir nachmittags auf ein Bier da und saßen draußen. War beides Mal sehr schön.

We ordered Schweinefiletmedallions in Cognac-Pfeffer-Sauce and Zigeunerschnitzel. Both of them were good! Can't say anything more. Good price and big portions. We were here around 13:00 something, not so many peoples in the restaurant = easy choosing where to sit. The service man was nice and friendly, he talked a little bit fast and quietly. But take your time and ask again. Price (2P) : ~45€ (with drinks)

A small, somewhat inconspicuous gem with a rustic atmosphere in Bielefeld, with delicious food (including daily specials!), courteous service and very fair prices. We'll definitely come back.

I was there for the first time today, nice old-style interior, friendly service and very reasonable prices, we had matjes, pork schnitzel with fries and plaice fillet “Finkenwerder style”. All in all, solid home cooking, unfortunately the fried potatoes with the plaice fillet were almost black, the fish itself wasn't crispy, but rather limp on the outside and falling apart on the inside. Was there a microwave at work here? The next time I come and the vanilla pudding also has the chocolate sauce on the menu (it was missing this time), we can take another look at the rating.

Great atmosphere, whether young or old. Food is fantastic and the price-performance ratio is A1. Whether inside in the catering area, at the bar or outside You are greeted with warmth and friendliness. One of my favorite 'pubs' in Bielefeld.

This review refers exclusively to our visit on May 20, 2024. On other days we received more professional service. We visited the Alt Bielefeld restaurant for lunch on Whit Monday. There were four of us. We were given a table “back in the corner”. When asked “The beautiful round one?” it was then said “no this one”. “This one” was positioned so close to another that we had to move ours aside a bit. When ordering we were asked what the soup of the day was. A “Wait a minute, I have to ask” and the waitress was gone. She should know this when she starts work in the lunch service. After we had ordered, the round table was occupied by a group of three people who were shooed away. We had two different dishes. Asparagus was served first, which had the opportunity to cool down a bit until the second dish arrived. The plates were not warmed. One of the drinks we had was still water, not chilled. Here an ice cold one was served without comment. The round table now obviously had the right guest because it was assigned to an individual. All in all, the operator gave the impression that she was completely overwhelmed. Even if the restaurant wasn't really full.

Simply great. The food is freshly cooked here and at fair prices. But you can also just sit outside and enjoy a freshly tapped Duckstein and watch the people stroll around.

This place was packed on a Friday night. Four of us there, we ironically all ordered the pepper steak. Phenomenal food, beer and desserts. Very fair pricing too. No regrets coming here!

Atmosphere: Nice quaint restaurant/pub. I can only agree with the comments that it is for the older generation. They are more welcome here. Service: We wanted the daily menu, apparently it was sold out. 2 other old gentlemen ordered it and received it straight away. According to the tone of the conversation, they have been there several times. Unfortunately, that didn't make a good impression on us at all. Food: Frozen and over-salted potatoes I would give the food 6/10 points. Unfortunately, the regular guest acted out to younger people because they were sitting at her regular table. There was a big tare, and unfortunately the restaurant didn't care. I would recommend it for bar goers. Nice shop but the service really needs to be worked on.

Good German home cooking without any frills. Fish, meat and vegetarian on the menu. Plus Herforder Pils and Früh Kölsch. Perfect. Friendly staff and attentive service. Prices really good. Payment possible by card. The ambience has probably remained unchanged for decades. Some outdoor seating. It's good that something like this still exists. Location in the pedestrian zone.

Sometimes more beautiful than you think... the sun was there and everyone was very friendly... However, the rail connections to the surrounding area can be expanded...

Met ons vieren heerlijk gegeten. Het eten werd snel opgediend. Een sfeervol restaurant en echt niet duur.

Urige Kneipe in der Innenstadt mit leckerer bodenständiger Küche. Und dazu passender guter Service.

Hier kann man noch gute bürgerliche Küche genießen. Ambiente wie man es aus der guten alten Kneipe kennt. Leider gibt es immer weniger solcher Restaurants / Kneipen. Komme gerne wieder.

Urige Kneipe mitten in der Bielefelder Altstadt, die den Charme echter Kneipen versprüht. Im hinteren Bereich gibt es noch ein zweiten Raum, wo man gütlich essen und beieinander sitzen kann. Die Bedienung ist flott und schaut in kurzen Abständen, dass es einem an nichts fehlt.

Sehr nette Gaststätte mit Restaurantbereich. Der vordere Bereich ist eine der letzten Kneipen in Bielefeld, die diesen Namen verdienen

Dobre jedzenie, bardzo ładne wnętrze, ale dużo kurzu i brudu przy suficie. Samą restauracje dość ciężko znaleźć, bo jest na tyle pubu.

Um satt zu werden Ok. Rustikales Essen. Bier Auswahl könnte besser sein. Bedienung freundlich. Aber insgesamt schon zu empfehlen für einfach was zu Essen und zu Trinken.
