Alla Vita Buona in Frankfurt am Main

This little restaurant corner is located on the (first and only) upper floor of the Kleinmarkthalle (Little Market Hall). Unfortunately, it's only accessible by stairs (by the way, it's quicker from the Liebfrauenberg entrance via the Rollanderhof terrace). Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can buy all sorts of Italian delicacies or enjoy a fantastic meal at one of the few comfortable tables. Thank you for the continuous hot food service! We thoroughly enjoyed the following on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: - handmade tortelloni with a cream cheese filling and prawns in lemon sauce - seafood salad - cannoli with espresso - limoncello spritz and Nero d'Avola All this for €56.30, which is very reasonably priced for the location.

Avoid the soup, it comes from a dehydrated soup bag... 😬 My husband had the ravioli, which he really enjoyed, even though it lacked finesse. The welcome was very friendly and the service was fast.

Bad service, doesn't make up for the mediocre food

We were strolling through the Kleinmarkthalle and fancied a glass of wine. We ended up here and admired the display of various pasta dishes. We ordered mixed ravioli, one with a ball of buffalo mozzarella, and one without. All I can say is, it was delicious, and the wine was fantastic. We'll definitely be back. Both employees were extremely polite and accommodating. It took a while, but there's so much to see there that it doesn't matter.

It was absolutely delicious, both the Hupspeise (linguine with pistachios) and the tiramisu – outstanding! Truly delicious!

Unfortunately, we experienced a complete disaster today. Service was completely overwhelmed. Food and drinks were abysmal. Even the bill, which we had to wait over 30 minutes for, was incorrect, and the payment process took another 20 minutes... This will be the last time for us after many years. Water for €7.90 in a "snack bar"... is outrageous.

We had pasta with seafood and tomato sauce. The "tomato sauce" (canned tomato chunks) had virtually no seasoning, just (too many) dried herbs, and the seafood was tough.

Spaghetti Carbonara was very good. Service was terrible. Older people who "just" wanted a drink had to move because the tables were reserved for diners only. Everyone who wanted to sit down was clearly asked if they wanted something to eat. Card payments only accepted for orders over €20. My bill came to €18.50. I had to round up accordingly to pay quickly. Conclusion: There are good food options elsewhere in the Kleinmarkthalle.

I ate at the Kleinmarkthalle yesterday. One waitress was very nice and the other was very rude. We ordered pasta with Italian sausage. We had to wait a long time. When we asked, we received a rude response, explaining that the cook was on vacation and the manager herself cooks it; good pasta takes time. Five minutes later, the pasta was served. Apart from the sausage, it tasted of nothing and was still cold; they just slapped on the cold, unseasoned tomato sauce. When we asked, I said the pasta was unbearable. The nice waitress said she'd noticed it when she was carrying out the plates and pointed it out to the manager, but she didn't care and didn't react at all. In conclusion, there are other places in the Markthalle where we can spend our money, but this was the last time. Pompous, arrogant, and completely unreflective.

Super cute little place But it still has a lot of development staff. As far as I can tell, it's all homemade But unfortunately it was the most tasteless pasta I've ever eaten in my life... What a shame

Seafood pasta was served without the tomato sauce, too much dried herbs and only broken bits of reheated, frozen seafood. When I tried to send it back, it was “the kitchen’s mistake” and I had to pay for it anyway.

Maximum rude and this time really disgusting food! I often come to the Kleinmarkthalle on Saturdays and eat at Bella's. As almost always, I ordered the pasta with seafood in white wine sauce. I was simply moved from my seat by the waitress and sat as if I had been parked in the middle of the aisle... when I asked after 30 minutes when the pasta would come because I had never had to wait that long before, and yes, the small market hall is always full - I was really told off by the waitress, which made me think of asking this question... When my dish came, strangely enough, after 2 minutes, I thought I was in the wrong movie... it just tasted like lemon juice, the noodles were actually drowned in the lemon juice sauce. There was no seasoning and there was hardly any seafood in it, just artificial surimi strips! - ergo; Any beginner could have cooked it better and for under €20.40!!!! An absolute disgrace... I've never left the small market hall so annoyed...

Food wasn't worth the price and the service was disrespectful and rude. We also had to wait 50 minutes for pasta even though there was only one other group there besides us.

The food was okay, but the service was disastrous. We waited over an hour for our food and ended up paying almost double the advertised price instead of the advertised price. We also saw a mouse in the kitchen at the end. Unfortunately, a real disappointment for the otherwise great Kleinmarkthalle in Frankfurt.

We absolutely loved this place! The Gnocchi and Ravioli we had were amazing! All fresh homemade pasta and sauces! We felt like we ate at grandmas little kitchen in Italy.

Located on the second floor of the market, this place is really nice and fast service. I had the black truffle pasta. My lady has ravioli. We each had a glass of wine. Make reservations before hand as this is a really popular spot.

We were otherwise regular customers at Alla Vita Buona and this time we sat down on the edge (not in the shop) with two glasses of wine from Weingur Rollanderhof at a table with two chairs that belonged to Alla Vita Buona and were immediately shown our seats. Even though the store was empty. We will look for an alternative in the future.

Authentic Italian cuisine with freshly prepared dishes, fast and attentive service despite sometimes being crowded in a market hall atmosphere. Very well eaten and therefore definitely recommended in my opinion

The food is freshly prepared and homemade Italian cuisine. I didn't like the contents of the ravioli with porcini mushrooms because it was more of a pressed paste (no trace of mushrooms). The service is very, very bad! The waitress and the staff at the counter are not only extremely rude to the guests but also extremely grim. Unprofessional service!! Why are such service staff employed...it's about paying customers and they should be treated as such.

I discovered this wonderful restaurant by chance and was immediately impressed by the inviting counter and the charming ambience. We were served by an extremely friendly lady who lovingly took care to help my little daughter choose her meal when she couldn't decide. We chose gnocchi in a delicious oil sauce and pasta with real truffle. The taste was authentic like in Naples, which really impressed us. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant! By the way, everything here is made by hand and the tiramisu is also delicious.

After walking all over Frankfurt trying to find a specific type of dessert wine, I finally found it here.

Delicious Italian food and perfect for an intermezzo when spending the day at the KM/H wine stands. Tad difficult to get a table but totally worth it. Somehow a hidden gem.

Unfriendly staff. Nevertheless, I tipped €2 on a €40 bill and the waitress didn't say a word after that and was passive aggressive. Also noodles tasteless.

We were here on a Saturday and the market hall was extremely busy. This probably also led to a fight for seats. The service staff was extremely busy and was constantly trying to free up seats for subsequent guests. This is of course counterproductive to a nice get-together.

I recently had dinner at Alla Vita Buona in Frankfurt and guys, it was really great! As soon as I walked in, I felt totally welcome – like I was staying with friends. The team was super nice and really made an effort to make us feel comfortable. Now for the most important part: the food. It was awesome! The pasta we had was so good, like it came straight from Italy. Just right al dente and the sauce to go with it? A dream! You could really taste that the ingredients were fresh and of top quality. What I also noticed: They attach great importance to where their food comes from. You can taste it and I think it's really good. In short: Alla Vita Buona is more than just a restaurant. It's a little piece of Italy in the middle of Frankfurt. If you're in the mood for really good Italian food and want to hang out with nice people, then you definitely have to go there!

Die Qualität aller Gerichte ist sehr gut, allerdings steht auf der Speisekarte Gnocchis und diese Portion hat lediglich 15 Gnocchis (Hand gemacht). Dieses Gericht gehört zu den Vorspeisen, weil die Portion (Super Qualität) dermaßen mickrig ist. Nach Reklamation wurde mir erklärt, dass die Portion hier so üblich ist. Allerdings ist auf der Speisekarte kein Hinwies darauf! Der Kellner beharrte auf seiner Meinung und war nicht kompromissbereit, bis die Chefin selbst kam und nochmals, sehr freundlich, die Situation darlegte, aber auch nur begrenztes Verständnis für meinen Hunger hatte. Allerdings war die Kulanz in der Form, dass wir den Kaffee nicht zahlen mussten und einen köstlichen Simonen-Schnaps bekamen, auch selbst hergestellt.

Hab die Käse Gnocchis bestellt und die waren sehr lecker, aber das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis hat mir den Appetit verdorben. Die Gnocchimenge entspricht einer kleinen Vorspeise und der Preis einem Hauptgericht, sorry, da möchte jemand schnell Geld verdienen und daher leider für mich kein zweites Mal.

First impression great, food looks good, tastes good too. But what's not possible for hygiene reasons is that when I'm putting the food together, the lady takes everything out of the refrigerated display case, calls in between, does the dishes, and never washes her hands!!! Dirt collects under her long, trimmed fingernails and she tackles the food several times. By the way, she probably unconsciously grabbed her nose and then put her hand to the food!!! Even watching it is disgusting. Off to the hygiene course - I had to do that too and I come from the catering industry!

For a quick lunch while shopping in the small market hall. The filled pasta is highly recommended, portions are indeed small, canoli very dry, service is very nice. The tables in the gallery are quite tight.

Serveurs désagréables, cuisine catastrophique : pâtes pas cuites, à peine 100 gr, baignées dans l’huile, les raviolis sont 4 à peine et le goût est vraiment mauvais.

Das Essen war zwar lecker, aber die Portionsgrößen waren unverschämt klein. Es waren so wenige Gnocchi, als der Teller serviert wurde, kam ich mir ziemlich verarscht vor. Selten wurde ich so enttäuscht. Und auch die vier Tortellini meiner Begleitung kann man kaum als eine Mahlzeit bezeichnen. Vielleicht sollte man es direkt als überteuerten "Probierteller" auszeichnen...? Das kann unmöglich als Restaurant-Mahlzeit gemeint sein. Bei dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist ein Stern schon großzügig.

Un grande grazie alla signora di questo negozio gourmet. Ha fatto uno sforzo particolare per procurarmi della pasta senza glutine e prepararmi un pasto su misura. Non solo è stato un gesto di incredibile gentilezza, ma il pasto era anche delizioso. Sono profondamente toccata dalla sua gentilezza e dal suo impegno a soddisfare i suoi clienti. Altamente raccomandato!

Die Gnocchi waren lecker, aber die Portion war für den Preis doch sehr klein. Manche Gnocchi waren nicht ganz gar und nicht richtig heiss. Der Service war wirklich sehr unaufmerksam und ist der Grund, warum wir nicht wieder kommen werden. Obwohl nicht viel los war wurden wir erst nach 15 min bedient. Gäste, die nach uns kamen wurden vor uns gefragt, was sie essen wollen. Ein Kellner stand an einem Tisch mit seinen Freunden, die weibliche Servicekraft hat uns nicht angeschaut, obwohl meine Mutter die Hand gehoben hat um nach Salz zu fragen. Auch sie unterhielt sich mit Gästen, die sie zu kennen schien. Bei Nachfrage vorne an der Theke (also bei den Köchen) reagierte der eine pampig und meinte, er habe keine Zeit, er müsse koche (wie gesagt: wir wollten nur Salz und Pfeffer). Die Standpauke hätte er lieber den Servicekräften geben sollen, die aber trotz ihrer mangelhaften Arbeit zumindest sehr sehr nett waren. Insgesamt eine durchwachsene Erfahrung.

Hausgemachte Nudeln, leckere Gnocchi und eine gute Auswahl an Schinken und Salami. Kleine Tische auf der Galerie, ideal für eine kleine Pause. Seit Jahren top.

Wir waren zweimal dort. Beim ersten mal war es toll. Hervorragende Gerichte und sehr gute Weine. Beim zweiten mal war in dem zweiten Raum eine geschlossene Gesellschaft zu bewirten. Und das führte zu einer deutlichen Überforderung von Küche und Service. Wir warteten sehr lange und als dann das Essen kam, war es kalt. Schade. Da wir aber wissen, wie hervorragend dort gekocht wird, werden wir wieder kommen, wenn es nicht Samstag (Betrieb!) ist und keine geschlossene Gesellschaft bewirtet wird.

Zu unseren gelegentlichen Besuchen in Frankfurt gehört meist auch ein Abstecher in die wuselige Kleinmarkthalle. Allerdings haben wir gestern dort zum erstenmal gegessen. Wir landeten in der oberen Etage am einzigen noch freien Galerietisch des "Alla Vita Buona" mit Blick von oben auf die bunte Auslage der Obst- und Gemüsehändler. Sehr netter Service, ein gutes Glas Wein und italienische Hausmannskost (Gnocchi mit Pilzfüllung und Spaghetti mit Salsiccia) - genau richtig für ein spätes kleines Mittagessen nach der Chagall-Ausstellung ohne höheren Anspruch...

Essen okay, Preise okay, Service eher unfreundlich allerdings sitzt man schön und hat einen tollen Blick über die Kleinmarkthalle.

Sehr genialer Italiener in der Kleinmarkthalle. Ich war bisher sehr oft dort.

Super leckere frische Pasta! Preis-Leistung ist überragend. Die Getränke vom Espresso bis zum Aperol Spritz oder Prosecco mit Limoncello schmecken alle gut. Sehr authentisch wie ich finde. In den letzten zwei Jahren ist es an jedem Samstag zu unser Stammlokal geworden.

Wir sind extra wegen hausgemachte Gnocci gekommen. Die Portionen sind sehr klein, Preis pro Person 10€. Wir hatten noch Hunger, geschmacklich nichts besonderes. Wir werden nicht mehr kommen. In Bad Homburg Pane e Vino bekommt man hervorragende hausgemachte Gnocci, cremig, Riesenportion für den selben Preis

A homemade pasta place at the Kleinmarkthalle market. Surprisingly very good! The pasta was cooked just nice 👍🏻

"Alla Vita Buona" hat zwei verschiedene Stände in der Kleinmarkthalle, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist meiner Ansicht nach hier vollkommen aus dem Ruder gelaufen. Das große Baguette/ Ciabatta ist mit ca. 4,60 € auch preislich gesalzen, auch wenn es letztendlich nicht schlecht geschmeckt hat. (Stand 10/2019)

We came 2 days in a row for the food!! We cant stop eating. Mushroom soup, ravioli and all home made pasta are amazing

Wirklich hervorragende selbstgemachte Pasta und Soßen, gute Weine und das ganze in prima Atmosphäre mit dem Flair der Kleinmarkthalle!

Ich war in der Kleinmarkthalle und hatte Lust auf eine Kleinigkeit und dachte ich esse mal Pasta im Alla Vita Buona. Also fix eine Weinschorle und einmal Spaghetti alla carbonara geordert. Die Spaghetti waren sehr gut, das Ei hatte leider zu stark gestockt und der Schinken hat weder nach Guanciale oder wenigstens Pancetta geschmeckt, sondern eher nach gebratenem Kochschinken. Die Weinschorle war aus einem recht neutralem Wein ohne Frucht und Säure und zu allem Überfluss mit Wasser ohne Kohlensäure aufgefüllt, so dass das Ganze sehr schal schmeckte. 13 Euro nur für ein paar eher mittelmäßige Spaghetti in einem besseren Imbiss und 5 Euro für den schlechtesten Weinschorle seit langem ist einfach zu teuer, ich hatte letzte Woche für wesentlich bessere auf dem Piazza del Campo nur 10 Euro bezahlt. Da stimmt das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis einfach nicht. Einen extra Punkt gibt es für die nette Bedienung.

Die hausgemachten Nudeln waren perfekt. Man kann auch an kleinen Tischen auf der Empore im Gangbereich zu der Weinterrasse Platz nehmen und dem vorbeiflanieren der Besucher und dem Treiben in der Kleinmarkthalle unten zuschauen.

Amazingly tasty home made pasta. Highly recommended!
