I don't understand why card payments aren't possible here when buying fish, even though there's a machine right there. When you call and ask, they say yes, it's possible, but when you go there in person, they say it's not.

Alim's fish restaurant is simply fantastic! The fish is always fresh, perfectly grilled, and incredibly delicious. The sea bream and salmon are especially delicious – crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The portions are generous, and the value for money is unbeatable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel immediately welcome. Even though the ambiance is rather simple, the quality of the food is clearly impressive. If you love fresh fish, you'll definitely love Alim's fish restaurant. Highly recommended – one of the best fish restaurants in Frankfurt!

The taste, portion size, price, and freshness are outstanding. I've never had such good fish. Anyone expecting a restaurant atmosphere is completely wrong. It's more reminiscent of the Hamburg fish market. Although it wasn't as good there!

Good food, parking is difficult.

For me, the fish soup was always a highlight at lunchtime. Within a year, the price increased by 50% (from €5 to €7.50!!!), and the quality has deteriorated dramatically. There are hardly any large pieces of fish in the soup anymore. This wasn't an isolated incident; it's happened on my last three visits. No longer a reasonable price-performance ratio. I wouldn't recommend it.

Dirty, sticky tables and customers waiting at their seats are unfortunately ignored. The fish is good, but expensive and lean compared to the competition.

Super delicious dishes for a reasonable price

A friend recommended this fish snack bar as very good. My expectations were accordingly high. Unfortunately, they weren't met. The service was very friendly, although due to the atmosphere, it was a bit too loud for me. Coke is served in glass bottles, which is great. Best taste ever. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the food. The sea bream fillet was full of bones and very dry. In other words, it was overcooked. They grill it, but that has to be right. Side dishes were nothing special. The fried potatoes were obviously frozen, and the salad was some poorly cleaned mix from a bag with stuff in it that should have been thrown out. The remulade is left unrefrigerated on the table, which is suboptimal in summer temperatures. But it's probably store-bought and contains so many chemicals that nothing can happen. It's just a snack bar in a not-so-great neighborhood. At least that way, they couldn't win me over as a future customer. But everyone has to decide for themselves.

I always come to the restaurant I'm reviewing twice. For the past two years, the fried sardines have obviously been served in much smaller portions. The first time, they were lined up all the way around the plate; now they're stacked halfway down, soft, and seem fresh, but not fried enough, and they're not crispy.

Very amazing soup and grilled dorado fish! Once we discovered this delightful establishment we kept coming back as much as we could. Very fast and friendly service!

The dishes are plain and simple in preparation, but thanks to the high quality, everything tastes very good. We tried the anchovies, the sea bream, and the shrimp. Everything came with crispy potato slices and a fresh salad. Sazu was served with plenty of bread. We were all well-fed and were happy with the prices. The seating isn't particularly inviting. It smells strong inside, and outside, you're currently sitting cramped on the sidewalk next to a construction site. The wait was a bit long for a snack.

If you just want to eat fish, this is the place for you. You get some fried potatoes (not homemade), some salad, and grilled fish. Remoulade (Metro) and dressing are available for you to measure out yourself. The price has been fair for years, and the service has been consistently friendly.

I visited this establishment and it is now one of my faves. I had the fish soup along with the Dorade. The fish soup witch was simply amazing. The best I’ve ever had. The fish (Dorade ) could’ve had a little more seasoning. The plate came with lemon and there was salt on the table so It was not a deal-breaker.

The fish soup is a bit salty but I recommend ordering it. You won't regret it. For potato chips and other seafood dishes, whether they are fried or grilled, the heat is perfectly controlled.

Dinner @Alims Fisch @Frankfurt Kaiserstrasse This outlets is famous for Mediterranean grilled fish & seafood dishes at a lively, low-key Turkish snack bar. However, the hygiene needs to be improve, saw half eaten basket of bread on the table and then reuse to pass to us. The place alsoo attracted houseflies maybe due to the preparation of fish inside the eateries. We ordered two type of fish but was given wrong order..prawn instead. We just close eyes and accept it. Fly accidentally flew and drown into the side of our prawn plate. Sigh.

For a snack, I quite like to eat fish (swordfish, tuna, mackerel, etc.) with salad (without bread and fries) when I'm nearby. So far, I've always been satisfied. 🙏 If I'm really hungry, I like to have the fish soup first (also without bread) 😊

Grill fish is good. We actually ordered 2 grill fish but they got our order wrong. Came another is the unshelled prawn. We accepted it anyway, since we thought is also good to try their prawn as next table ordered and looks good. Unfortunately, the prawn wasn't very fresh and it is way too salty. Saw reviews that the fish soup is good. So we ordered one and try. A lot of fish meat as per reviews. Taste and flavor wise, not to my liking. We sat at the next indoor area, which is Infront of the fresh fish processing area. So expect to have quite a bit of fishy smell. The place also got quite a fair bit of flies. One actually landed in our prawn base sauce. We immediately moved the rest of our prawn to one side and quickly finished it. The guy was quite attentive and took our orders but unfortunately, got it wrong. Probably due to misunderstanding. Otherwise, all else was ok. If ever to return, will just order their grill fish. Which is really good.

Attention, today I was eating with my parents and we discovered worms in the salad, we showed the waiter the worm in the salad and we were simply told that it was natural. So think about whether your health is important or not. We weren't even offered drinks on the house and we paid for them too. Cheeky but good, apparently they don't value guests.

I went in at 11 a.m. and immediately ordered a sea bream and waited 45 minutes until 11:45 a.m. and the food was still not ready, really outrageous, something like that, they didn't show a bit of respect

Before I went in I had read info that payment by card is possibile over 10 euro. When paying (about 20 euro) I was told I must pay by cash which I didn't have at time. Using ATM cost me additional 5 euros as a tourist. Information about payment by card over 10 euro was tear off the door when I pointed it. Poor service.

I've been going here for years when I'm nearby. Food is super tasty, prices are reasonable. It's close to Frankfurt train station. That's just how it is there.

Fish soup and fried sardine was super delicious for me. Fish soup was a bit salty but after squeezing some lemon…..perfect ! Fried sardine was also good, crisp and tasty. Restuarant had only a few seat and service was ok, not good or bad. Anyway totally recommend.

You should come here just for the fish soup. It was the first time I tried fish soup here, and I’m in love with it. The other dishes are also very fresh and served hot. I prefer sitting outside; it’s more airy. There’s a fireplace for customers, which I saw for the first time this year. It’s a thoughtful gesture. It’s a place we regularly visit.

Nothing high in terms of cuisine or service. Menu: Salmon fillet with fried potatoes and salad. The fish was 4/5, pleasantly smoky grilled but too bland. Boiled potatoes taste better in every kebab shop and other restaurants would just use the “salad” as decoration. The service was probably only there because it had to be there. The bright ceiling light is reminiscent of an opera hall and definitely doesn't invite you to linger. Not worth a second visit for me and deservedly a maximum of 2 out of 5 stars.

Very tasty fried calamari, the mixed platter with various fish was very generous, the salmon unfortunately tasted very much like grilled meat. There could have been more side dishes. I am a regular customer at this store. I have always eaten well there. But today I got the expired shrimp. The heads were black. Alim’s is now an institution in Frankfurt. If I want to eat fresh fish, I always go there. The fish is fresh, the prices are reasonable, the service is fast and friendly and the dishes are 95% better than in high-priced restaurants. You have to know that the location is more of a snack bar.

The restaurant is very small and getting old, but it is very cheap and for the little money you really get a decent, high quality portion. The fish wasn't the ultimate, but the quality was perfectly fine and it tasted delicious. The portion of fried potato slices and the salad weren't bad either and were really decent in terms of quantity. The price-performance ratio here is more than great. For little money you can honestly get a decent, tasty portion of fish and side dishes here.

Really tasty food, but the service is lagging. After I went into the restaurant, it took a few minutes until I was asked what I wanted. With a smile, I ordered a fish soup and was told to find a seat. I looked in vain for a smile and friendliness and sat down. The waitress walked past 2-3 times, after 10 minutes he asked if I had already ordered, I just said that I was at the front. Then he turned around and waved me off. Well 2 minutes later the soup came. Very tasty, rich with fish and vegetables. Then I wanted to pay and was back in the entrance area without any service. Two other guests came who wanted to pay. Then an employee jumped up from the table and said I was collecting it. The two ladies were settled and I then said I would also like to pay for my soup. He said a colleague would do it and sat back down at his table and continued eating his lunch. Perfectly ok, but why couldn't I be billed? Well, shortly afterwards the colleague came and I was able to pay and also give a tip. Well, with the feeling of having eaten deliciously, but without feeling any hospitality. I'll go back in a few weeks and give it another chance to do better. Otherwise, back to the Istanbul Fish Grill... 😉
