Ali Baba in Berlin

Menu was only in German and we had troubles understanding it. My friend is totally gluten free (severe allergy) and had to translate most of the words with phone. The guy behind the counter seemed really annoyed that it took some time to decide what is actually safe to get. Also it was really annoying that the screens flashed with pictures while trying to understand the menu. The food was actually really good, though I asked veal for my döner and got chicken. Still great. Should have more veggie options for salad. But please understand, when someone who doesn't speak German and has serious food allergy, it might take time to order, no need to get annoyed. Or just make your menus also in English, and mark clearly which foods have gluten in them. Thank you ❤️

It offends customers if you don't click on the 10% tip for a quick to-go kebab without service.

Accused of stealing a bag the whole time and threatened to call the police, which wasn't the case at all...unnecessary film and simply rude.

The seller tried to scam me. I wanted to pay by card so he said I must pay 10€ instead of 7,5€.

So, a "big döner" there is actually a below-average-sized döner. The vendor was very unfriendly, especially since we bought the mini döner for 8 euros. And the men's restroom was broken; I'm not going to use a women's restroom, I feel very uncomfortable there, especially if women see me going in.

The food was fantastic! Fresh ingredients, crispy chicken, and a really delicious tahini sauce – simply superb! The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. They even had beer, which made the visit even more relaxing. Perfect for families too – child-friendly and pleasantly laid-back. We'll definitely be back!

I've often been satisfied, the food is good... this time the desired order was no longer available as requested, the alternative offering was of lower quality but the price seemed higher in the end and not really understandable. Card payment wasn't possible despite repeated requests. Three customers later, it was possible after all. When asked why it was now possible, the response was an aggressive "what's your problem?" Maybe they're evading taxes this way, maybe not... either way, super rude and bad service. Addendum: The restaurant reported the review about two years later and tried to have it deleted. At the same time, they seem to have taken action against all reviews below 5 stars, as other user comments show. This makes the place even more unpleasant.

If you're brown, do not go here. I have faced this multiple times after giving many benefits of doubt.. They're either rude or will simply ignore you and ask for an order to two white people next in line to skip you. I don't usually link rude behaviour to racism but these guys really are a bunch of racists.

Suuuuch a delicious döner!! Accidentally stumbled upon it with friends before going out and so glad we did. I go back there when in the area. The bread tasted like it came straight out of the oven - toasty and soft and all the flavors together were chefs kiss.

Absolutely miserable! I, very hungry, tried to contact the shop at 2 a.m. I'm going through a really bad phase right now; my boyfriend cheated on me with an African woman in a bar in Tunisia. I was incredibly hungry for a kebab with a huge amount of garlic sauce, since no one wanted to kiss me anymore anyway. I think it's truly outrageous to abandon an innocent, sad woman at this hour and not prepare a kebab for her.

8€ for a Big Döner which is smaller than a normal 0815 Döner which only tastes medium

Just a quick heads-up: I wasn't even a little sober when I ate the kebab, so my descriptions are representative. The falafel kebab is really fairly priced at €6.50 (it must have been around that). Above all, the falafel here tastes pretty good, but the extra hummus is the real hidden gem. It tasted significantly better than the shop's exterior promises. The tables aren't always spotless, but at least there are plenty of them, and there's even a restroom on site. The crowd is usually quite large, especially in the evenings, when partygoers are there. It didn't bother me in this case; it actually filled me up quite well.

Veal durum was quite delicious, very thinly sliced however it was way too salty. The wrap was also not toasted before wrapping, but pressed in a panini press after.

Best kebab plate I've ever had. With antipasti, great sauces, and bread. We could barely finish it. Very varied and very good.

They got our order wrong and were unhappy when we said that it’s not what we wanted. I ended up taking what they gave, but asked for an ayran. They asked for coins for it which we didn’t have, so I ended up without it as well. They didn’t add any sauce to the last dish, probably because they were too busy arguing. Horrible customer service. You should do better.

Waren zufällig dort weil bei Rüyan ums Eck die Schlange endlos war. Schawarma und Chicken-Döner sehr lecker. Gibt auch Pizza die gut aussah und viele hatten. Preise ortsüblich. Große Getränkeauswahl. Kann man machen.

This is the most fast-food-tasting kebab I've had in Berlin - it's at the bottom of my personal ranking. But that doesn't mean it's bad - you just have to crave those strong mayonnaise-based, heavy sauces and fatty meat. :) The place is quite nice inside, friendly service. If you want something like a party kebab, this is a good place.

The “lamb doner meat” tastes like absolutely nothing and the sauces don’t add to the overall experience. Friends of the house or people who otherwise don't have access to good kebab obviously see it differently. For me it's an absolute tourist shop that, mind you, offers alternatives to kebab that looked much better. But I can't rate it. As a Berliner, you have low basic expectations of friendliness and service 😉 Conclusion: The shop will continue to find its customers in the future and I'll just keep going next time.

Nothing special, there are much better kebabs in Berlin. I'm surprised by the good rating. We chose this shop because the queue at Rüyam Vegetable Kebab was too long and we couldn't wait that long for anything.
