Alexander der Große in Bad Pyrmont

We visited this restaurant twice. Each time we received friendly and attentive service. The dishes we chose were excellent in both quality and quantity. The price-performance ratio was perfectly balanced. Only the noise level from large groups of guests detracted from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere in the dining room.

The best Greek restaurant in town. I've tried all three, and Alexander the Great is simply my favorite. The Cretan potatoes have become my absolute favorite.

Alexander himself would probably have conquered half of Europe with this food, just to get seconds! 😄 The waiters were consistently incredibly friendly, attentive, and possessed a great sense of humor – you immediately feel welcome. You can really tell that they work here with heart and soul. The food? Simply fantastic! Huge portions, top quality, and a flavor explosion – no one will leave hungry. And all this at fair prices that make you wonder if you've accidentally stumbled into Mount Olympus. In short: If you're looking for good food, friendly service, and a relaxed, fun atmosphere, you should definitely visit Alexander the Great. We'll definitely be back – professional development course or not! 😉

100% satisfied 😃 Definitely a bit better. We don't find that very often. We're RVers and travel a lot. We know what we're talking about. However, this isn't one of the cheapest options, but quality has its price. The Wanderers will definitely be back. Best regards

Great Greek restaurant. Very tasty food; reminds me of vacations in Crete 😋 The staff is very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Anyone who wants to escape the rehab food and enjoy a decent dinner with good value for money will be in good hands here. But reservations are best. We were there on a normal weekday and it was packed. Speaks for itself, doesn't it? 😉 If I ever come back to Bad Pyrmont, I'll be back. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were there on the weekend. It wasn't busy, but we still had to wait a long time for drinks and food. The gyro pan wasn't recommended; the meat was so tough to chew, and it was dark on the outside that even the sauce didn't help. We left more than half of it standing. To make matters worse, we were sitting outside, unfortunately, under a tree that was constantly shedding blossoms and leaves in the wind, so we were always getting them in our drinks and food. We ordered one Coke and one glass of wine. Unfortunately, the wine glass was dirty because it wasn't needed until we pointed it out. The prices were rather high for what you get. The salad, as a starter, was also carelessly placed on a plate, and there were a few brown spots on the salad. All in all, we won't be going back!

We got a seat without a reservation, but our order was forgotten. We asked after about 40 minutes because we noticed that everyone after us got their food relatively quickly. They should also pay some attention to non-regular customers. After asking, things went relatively quickly. The food was OK, the tzatziki was very good. The prices were still OK. It's worth a visit.

The food was delicious and the portions were more than adequate. The value for money is still good. The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. It all feels very homely. I highly recommend eating here. We'd be happy to come back.

I ate there twice. I found the food itself to be impeccable and plentiful. Unfortunately, extras that are obviously included are only available for an additional charge. I'm talking about ketchup, mayo, onions, and tzatziki. That's pretty disappointing. If you ask nicely, you'll get some extra onions! Some of the tables aren't suitable for sitting. They look good, but if you're unlucky, they'll weigh you down. Good looks aren't everything.

I also don't understand the positive reviews. Surely they're regular customers who don't know anything else, and tourists who come once and never come again. We waited almost an hour for our food. The excuse was that since we had an appetizer, our order was pushed back. After almost an hour, we had cold food, very dry meat, tasteless food, and disgusting fries that even the child didn't eat. The rice was super watery, lukewarm, and tasteless. The meat was dry and tough. The gyro didn't taste good and was burnt... At the end, we were asked, and I expressed criticism, and her response was that "we were the only ones today who thought that, and the others were satisfied." That comment was enough. For €65, that's a complete disgrace. I definitely won't go back and will get better gyro somewhere else.

As always, super delicious food, a great location, and super friendly staff. The four of us, two adults and two children, were very satisfied and enjoy going there again and again.

But we waited 45 minutes for our food after ordering. Unfortunately, special requests like "Could you please bake it" aren't possible. After a 45-minute wait, we finally received a lukewarm, almost cold meal. The tomato rice floated in a sea of ​​water on the plate and unfortunately tasted like it. Each of our dishes came with a Metaxa sauce, which was also served in a sauce bowl. However, only one. We asked for the second one, which we received, but then we were charged extra on the bill. The ketchup for my son's fries was also charged extra. The atmosphere is okay, but everything is so cramped, you feel like you belong to the next table. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. What a shame.

It was only possible to eat here with a reservation, as it was also Easter. The dishes we ordered tasted excellent and whet our appetite for a second visit. Recommended

The food was good, the portions could have been a little larger. I would have expected tzatziki “without” ordering for the bread on the house.

Unfortunately, the prices for my menu online didn't necessarily match the actual ones - they were about 1/3 more expensive. When we asked, we were told that they were already 20 years old." We also received notice at 9 p.m. that it would close at 10 p.m. I guess it was the last visit for us...

Hervorragende griechische Küche und toller und aufmerksamer Service. Waren mit unserer Tochter und dem Enkel dort zum Abendessen und sind gut gesättigt wieder nach Hause gefahren. Der Kellner war noch so nett und hat von uns Fotos gemacht. Das Giros mit Käse überbacken und der Schweinefiletspiess in Metaxa Sahne Sauce war einfach köstlich. Trotz gut gefülltem Restaurant war es nicht zu laut und man konnte sich noch gut unterhalten. Danke für den schönen Abend!

Among friends in a foreign country, that is the best way to describe the welcome and the incredibly warm service. We reserved a table here while on vacation because of the good reviews. We received a very warm welcome and it continued like that the whole evening. An incredibly warm service that you would want anywhere. Our special thanks go to the whole family, especially Spyro. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy. I would describe the cleanliness as exemplary. The toilets have everything you could want, including hooks for women's jackets or handbags. The food is authentically Greek, super tasty and not even the souvlaki were dry, as is often the case. Everything here was perfect, juicy and really delicious. We would like to have a restaurant like this where we live. There is nothing to improve here, just stay as you are. Thanks!

We have been going to Alexander on and off for over 30 years. And for us he was always the Greek in Bad Pyrmont who offered the best quality for the money. So the price-performance ratio was right. Unfortunately it's no longer as good as it was before the price increase, it's a shame that the quality and quantity also suffer. In addition, some of the food was already cold, but that didn't particularly bother the waiter. Speaking of the waiters, they are all extremely (excessively) friendly and funny, but they don't deal well with criticism. Another point of criticism concerns the pricing. We don't actually know any Greeks where you have to pay extra for tzatziki or for certain dishes. Because having to pay €5 for a dollop of tzatziki is more than sporty, in my opinion it's even a rip-off.🤷 In any case, we'll avoid Alexander for now.

We had to wait a long time until one of the many waitresses came to us and took our order. The staff was totally overwhelmed as they were very busy outside. Unfortunately the food was a disaster because it was cold, really cold! The neighboring table also complained about this in the service. When the waitress later asked us if everything was OK, I said that the food was cold and didn't taste good. The waiter didn't really respond, quickly disappeared without apologizing and later sent his colleague to pay us. Here, too, there was no response and we returned to our accommodation dissatisfied.
