Instead of going to the changing room to change, the waiter went right through the restaurant in front of all the guests. He took off his shirt and went on his break in his undershirt. That is extremely rude.

We made a reservation 1-2 months ago for 12 people for a birthday party. We went there this morning and suddenly there was no reservation. We stood there with 12 people looking stupid and then had to find somewhere else to go.

I've been a regular at ALEX on Neupfarrplatz for several months now, both for personal reasons and for my creative workshops (under @decoratedbysam), and I'm always very happy with my visit! The team is incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. Even if we stay a little longer during the workshops, it's never a problem. A big thank you also goes to Ghani, the owner; she took the time to talk to me right from our first meeting, even though she was already swamped! From a culinary perspective, ALEX is one of the most diverse restaurants in Regensburg, in my opinion. They offer a wide selection of dishes: from fresh salads, burgers, gyozas, and (Asian) bowls to classic pasta dishes. Everything tastes delicious and is beautifully presented! Vegan and vegetarian options are readily available and prepared with great care. ...``` I'd especially like to highlight the brunch buffet, which is truly exceptional: a huge selection of salmon, cheese, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fried potatoes, desserts, and a muesli bar—all served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.! The price-performance ratio (around €20) is absolutely fair, especially considering the quality and variety. The drinks menu also leaves nothing to be desired: changing monthly specials, delicious cocktails and mocktails, fancy sodas, various coffees, teas, and much more. The location on Neupfarrplatz is perfect! Sitting on the terrace (right on Neupfarrplatz) in the summer and watching the city life unfold is simply wonderful. Inside, the restaurant has an open yet cozy design, and there are areas that are well-suited for parties or groups, as well as for a girls' night in. Furthermore, it's wheelchair accessible, welcoming to diverse cultures, and simply a place where you feel truly at home. I look forward to being there every time, whether for brunch, a drink, or my workshops. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

I ordered a beef burger without onions. Unfortunately, the dish arrived cold, the patty had a strange taste, and to make things worse, it contained onions! When I called the waiter to point it out, he rudely denied it and insisted that I had ordered it with onions. He even told me to just remove them myself. I wasn’t trying to complain or ask for a replacement (which he never offered, by the way) — I only wanted to let him know there was a mistake. He could have handled the situation much more politely and professionally. I then asked to speak with the manager. She showed up with a serious, almost grumpy expression, as if she was preparing for an argument. When I reassured her that I didn’t want a replacement and that my concern was only about the waiter’s attitude, she admitted that he should have behaved more appropriately. But did she offer a replacement? No. Did she apologize or ask the waiter to do so? Also no. Instead, she simply checked whether I had managed to handle the situation myself by removing the onions. Throughout my interactions with both the waiter and the manager, I felt like I was the one trying to de-escalate and reassure them. It honestly felt as if I were on the staff’s side, which shows they really need additional training in customer service. As for the burger itself, it was disappointing — overpriced, cold, and not tasty at all. Even the color looked off; it didn’t seem like proper beef. Maybe it had too much fat, I’m not sure, but it definitely didn’t taste good. After that, I didn’t even get the chance to properly express how disappointed I was with the meal itself. In some restaurants these days in Germany, being treated decently feels like winning the lottery — even though it should be the bare minimum. And if you try to offer genuine or constructive feedback about the food’s taste or presentation, forget it — you’ll just be made to feel wrong for saying anything at all.

In my opinion, Alex in Regensburg isn't entirely convincing. I've been there several times, and it often takes a while to be served or for my plate to be cleared after eating. Today I had one of the bowls, which at almost €18 are rather pricey. I ordered the chicken bowl, and the waiter realized his mistake when he brought the plate. He asked again if I had ordered the falafel bowl (which I denied) and then took the plate back. Five minutes later, the correct order arrived, but one ingredient was missing—an ingredient that had always been included in the bowl a week earlier. I suspect they only swapped the main ingredient. Since I only had a short lunch break, I didn't complain immediately. There were three small pieces of chicken in the bowl, which isn't enough. Afterward, my plate wasn't cleared (despite the restaurant being empty and the waiters standing around). I then called a waitress, who finally took the bill. Since it took so long and I had to get back to work, I didn't say anything more. Alex has very high prices; I expect a higher overall standard from a chain of this size and at these prices.

Very nice and friendly, great drinks

This is a nice, clean, cozy, and beautiful restaurant. We were served good and delicious food and drinks. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. If we're ever in Regensburg again, this will be a good and pleasant place to stop. Best regards,

What good is the best food, the best location, if you wait 10 minutes for a table assignment according to the instructions, while other guests walk past you left and right to the free tables? While looking for a waiter, we were sent back to the waiting sign, where, once again, no one bothered to attend to us. We gave up in frustration and left again.

When my friends and I go there for coffee (several times), the waiter is very unfriendly. He doesn't say hello, goodbye, thank you, or even acknowledge the tip. He's quite arrogant and unmotivated, with a "I don't care" attitude. He simply threw the receipt on the table and then left without saying goodbye. Mr. Keller wears glasses and has a beard. He also looks quite Arabic. We will invest our money elsewhere in the future.

I was there with my girlfriend and everything was fine until they brought me the wrong drink.

We've been there several times. The food and quality are deteriorating. Yesterday, Saturday, we were there for brunch just before 11:00 a.m. and most of the items were already empty, and they stayed that way until 12:00 p.m. We still had to pay full price. Neither the scrambled eggs nor the Nuremberg sausages were refilled. Even the jam jars were completely empty, and that was an hour before we arrived. A complete disappointment, and that for the exorbitant price. This was our last visit. Not recommended!

Delicious food, visually appealing. A pleasant ambiance. Very friendly and attentive staff. There are various seating options: at a regular table or a high-top table. There's also an outdoor area. There are no parking spaces in front of the restaurant; you have to park in the public parking garages. We'll be happy to return.

A rich and delicious breakfast buffet

Not very pleasant... i went there on Saturday i got me a drink it was really nice but when i went there again today i ordered the same drink it was like half empty and didn't even get a straw..... i called the waitress to ask for a straw.... She said it very rudely "it doesn't come with a straw but if you want one i could get you one". I said it came with a straw on staturday tho she goes like " no it doesn't come with a straw ". It was really not nice, plus when we were ordering she was really rushing it like we were talking and she just kept trying to walk away. Really unprofessional, i said to my friend imagine coming here on a date and then this is what ruins your date🥴

Fun, good food and great service. Very eclectic menu, so something for everyone. We were with a group of 8 with 6 different meals and 2 starters, each different, but each well executed.

I was there one evening a few days ago. The restaurant used to be much better. Unfortunately, everything has deteriorated considerably: poorer quality, unfriendly service, and overall disappointing. A real shame!

The service is good, and the food is also recommendable. The restrooms are pretty bad: 1. they're not clean, 2. a faucet is broken, 3. a toilet seat is missing, and 4. there's no toilet paper.

Interesting menu with a different slant on old favorites

Very nice restaurant. Excellent service, especially the waitress Ali, who was very courteous and competent. Great atmosphere and first-class buffet. We'd love to go back!

I was here on a Wednesday around 2:00 p.m. The restaurant was almost completely empty, but it still took a while to be served. I chose lasagna Bolognese, and it took almost half an hour to be served. I found the portion size too small for the price, and the walnuts were a bit unusual, but the flavor was quite good. A little more bread would have improved the dish. I also had to wait a bit longer to pay. They definitely need to improve the waiting time for guests to make it shorter.

Our waitress barely paid us any attention, and when we were paying, he asked me for a pen to sign the bill. When I told him I didn't have one, he left angrily. There was no tip either because the service was terrible. We weren't given any cutlery for our starter. We had to ask for it for the main course. We had to wait for drinks until the waitress finally noticed us, even though the coffee cup wasn't full. This all refers to the waitress who paid the bill. The person who assigned us the table was excellent.

I stopped by this café in Regensburg and really enjoyed it! I had a cappuccino with a chocolate mousse, and both were excellent. My friend tried the carrot cake, which was also delicious and worth recommending. The atmosphere was cozy, and it’s definitely a nice spot to enjoy good coffee and dessert. Highly recommend!

We had lunch at Alex and had a wonderful time. The food (deluxe currywurst) was absolutely delicious, the plates were lovingly decorated, and the wait time was reasonable. I would also like to particularly highlight the staff, who were very friendly and attentive. I would happily rate this visit 5 out of 5.

I had a Tutti Frutti bowl which was sooo soo delicious and the presentation was aesthetically pleasing. The ice cream was so flavourful, refreshing and not too sweet which is perfect for my liking. I also drank latte macchiato that was also pretty good. The interior of the cafe is so dreamy and exquisite. The service was also really nice.

We went to the Alex Café on Domplatz in Regensburg for the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment. When we sat down at a free table, we asked for a quick wipe down – the waitress reacted annoyed and pulled a face. We then ordered water, but had to wait a full 15 minutes, even though the employee walked right past us several times. When we finally asked her about it, we got the water, but again with an unfriendly expression. Overall, the staff seemed overwhelmed and not very service-oriented. We sorely missed friendliness and attentiveness here. The buffet itself was reasonably priced, but the poor service prevented us from truly enjoying the breakfast.

We had the Sunday buffet. Plenty of selection, but unfortunately, certain items weren't replenished or were suddenly no longer available, even though the buffet had been open for another two hours. The white sausages were bursting and had brown spots. The fruit, especially the pineapple, was brown. Plenty of room for improvement. What stood out positively was the friendly staff and the nice atmosphere.

The name Alex stands throughout Germany for a good atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. The food isn't always of the same quality, and the friendliness isn't always noticeable. (It's gotten better.) The place is a great choice, like many others I know. Now it gets 5 stars.

We stopped there for a glass of wine later in the evening. Very friendly staff. A pleasant atmosphere with a predominantly young clientele.

We waited 20 minutes for a Spezi, we were assured three times that it would come soon, it wasn't very busy and the service was not good.

There were eight of us for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the selection was more than adequate. The staff inside was also very friendly. Unfortunately, despite the nice weather, we couldn't sit outside. There are small tables outside, designed for four people, but they're far too small for breakfast, especially for rounds. There were eight of us, and we should have split up because they were only allowed to push two tables together, even though it was very quiet that day. This restaurant is not recommended for larger groups in nice weather, and apparently, the owner doesn't want that either. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

We were there for the first time today. We really liked everything, both the drinks and the food. If we are in Regensburg again, we will definitely visit this restaurant again.

From drinks to food and service everything was top and terrific

Two of us ate here, and when we looked at the menu, we were shocked to see the prices had drastically increased. Considering the value for money, this is truly outrageous. The bread was hard and the pasta was cold. The waiter was unfriendly and didn't even say goodbye or anything after we paid. We won't be coming here again.

Absolutely disappointing! The bald waiter seriously forbade us from using the restroom – even though we were his own customers and he had served us himself just moments before. He started yelling at us just because he forgot who his customers were. Another waiter had to point out to him that we were, in fact, his. Our drink arrived after an incredible 40 minutes. When we confronted him about the restroom issue and the long wait, he started arguing, getting loud and rude. In the end, he even wanted to kick us out – after making us wait and behaving like that. We've never experienced anything so unprofessional.

The food is good when you get it. The waiters are generally awful; they're either unfriendly or don't take your order at all.

Shard of glass in a cocktail – I'm stunned and disappointed I'm truly shocked by my experience at Alex Café in Regensburg. I was there with friends around 10 p.m. on Thursday evening. I ate a wrap that barely contained any "meat" (if you can even call it that) – pretty disappointing for over €14. After that, I had a waffle (which was okay) and a non-alcoholic cocktail that was more juice than "cocktail"! But the real shock came while I was drinking it: I suddenly chewed twice on something hard – it was a piece of glass. I couldn't see if the glass was also damaged inside because it was full of ice. So I asked the waitress if I could please take a photo of the INSIDE of the glass for my doctor – after all, swallowing a piece of glass can be life-threatening. The waitress (brown hair) simply said the glass was only cracked on the outside and even suggested that maybe the dishwasher had gotten a piece of glass into it. Luckily, later, the second, very nice waitress (blonde, curly hair) came over and told me quite honestly that the glass was also cracked inside – and that a centimeter of glass was missing. Unfortunately, the glass had already shattered in the glass waste by that point, so I couldn't take a photo. I feel lied to. And not only that – I was then asked to pay for the wrap, even though I had drunk glass! Only because I repeatedly made it clear how serious the situation was, was the amount waived in the end. I work in the medical field myself – I know how dangerous something like that is. And to then be lied to is unbelievable to me. And then to say, after I spoke to the brown-haired waitress again, "I really didn't see it, I just looked at it from the outside," supposedly... but the other waitress told me with complete conviction that she could have clearly seen the broken glass from the inside! Glass breakage can happen, yes – but the way it was handled was simply disrespectful, irresponsible, and dishonest. I will definitely never come back. There are also photos of the glass and the visible sharp piece of glass.

Great Place Amazing Food and Bevergas

I went to Kaffee Alex today and had a white chocolate. I've also been to the buffet before – it's acceptable, but you sometimes have to wait in line for a really long time. The white chocolate tastes like uncooked custard powder, which is quite unpleasant. Overall, the drink was disappointing. The buffet does offer a certain selection, but the quality isn't consistently good, and the long wait doesn't make it any better. Especially during peak times, it's just exhausting to even get anything there. The prices are simply too high. For what you get – both in terms of taste and service – it's not worth it. I wouldn't go there again.

This is complete nonsense, it took way too long, and the service wasn't that friendly either. The drinks are completely overpriced. Just go there and trust them; the people there are really weird.

I had the TERIYAKI SALMON BOWL and was extremely disappointed for the price. The salmon tasted extremely artificial and looked like it had artificial coloring in it. According to the menu, however, it wasn't. I don't know if it was due to the way the salmon was prepared or the quality, but the dish stayed in my stomach for a long time. Unfortunately, the beets also tasted a bit rotten. Last time we were there, everything tasted good, and the ambiance and service were also good.

Great food, great atmosphere! On summer days, however, it's very hot in the restaurant, and the ventilation isn't on. It's truly scorching hot.

I was served by an extremely friendly and attentive waiter from Tunisia. He was always polite, professional, and always had a smile on his face. Despite the busyness, he took the time to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. His warm personality and dedication made our visit a particularly pleasant experience. I can recommend the food. The service staff were incredibly unfriendly. They make mistakes and then snap at customers, don't say hello or goodbye when they come in. There's no friendly approach. Objective sobriety and principles win out—a strong Berlin example!

Such a lovely place! The atmosphere was nice and the desserts were super tasty. We had to wait a little for our order, but everything else was great.

The location is great, and the food was absolutely delicious. There's something for every appetite. Small, medium, and large. I had the Caesar wrap and would definitely order it again.

My husband and I went to Alex with our dogs for lunch today. We loved the ambiance inside. There were plenty of shaded spots outside for our dogs to enjoy. In addition to our drinks, which arrived quickly, our dogs were also offered water. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared, and I also found the selection of dishes to be very inventive.

The perfect café for a cold drink on a Friday afternoon. The service was super friendly and attentive, very professional. Delicious Spritz options, and it was a pleasant place to sit. Unfortunately, the outdoor area could be improved. Some of the prices are already quite steep and unjustified. Central location and very cozy.

Honest value for money apart from the exorbitant cost of water as in all of Germany, good quality of food. Large place with a lot of choice of seats both outside and inside, of course considering that we were there for lunch and in June, in the evening I can't give any indications
