As the stars suggest, everything is very good 👍 Very nice service, the atmosphere is also very appealing and the buffet leaves little to be desired. The costs for the breakfast buffet are reasonable.

The food is now too expensive in relation to the price. The coffee doesn't taste as good anymore either. Prices have also been increased significantly 😕 It's a shame that they were loyal customers for years.

A very good breakfast buffet. There was everything from fried eggs, scrambled eggs to pancakes, fruit salad, meat, salmon and fresh bread. The employee Merve was very attentive and friendly. She asked several times if everything was OK and quickly brought our hot drinks.

There is advertising for a festive New Year's Eve breakfast on large posters. We actually go to Alex regularly. Table ordered for New Year's Eve 10 a.m OK, then breakfast My question. Sorry, where can I find the salmon Answer. It's only available on Sundays. ??? I didn't quite understand that It's a shame - so you didn't have to go to Alex on New Year's Day. Everything else was ok and the selection was ok too

Modern restaurant, good service but unfortunately bad overpriced food. There were 4 starters! Vegetarian gyoza €8.8 (which were probably not even homemade), 3 mini kaarage each with 3 mini florets of baked cauliflower for €9.8!!! That's a bad joke! Immediately after the starters had been cleared away, the two main courses were served, a Uhly Butcher burger and a rump steak. Both had probably been ready for a while, because both were only lukewarm and the burger was more than well cooked. There was also a huge piece of ice-cold herb butter on the steak, which gave the steak its death knell. Why don't you add something like that instead of slapping it on the steak without asking? The criticism was then commented on by the service team with “we can’t do anything about it now”. The price-performance ratio here is in no way correct. Completely overpriced starters and poor quality main courses. Starters (Kaarage & Gyoza) in Düsseldorf at the Japanese restaurant, on the other hand, are world class and even cheaper. What you get for the money at Alex is almost a disgrace. The nice atmosphere doesn’t help either….

We were there for brunch. The buffet was outstanding, there was a large selection with delicious, fresh rolls and bread, constantly fresh scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and delicious spreads and cold cuts. The service was okay, but every now and then you had to wait a while until an empty drink was noticed.

We were there for brunch on November 24th, 2024. Good selection and tasty. The service staff was very nice. I deduct one point for the acoustics, as it is quite busy and therefore very loud.

We waited 1.5 hours for our food and then stopped. Actually, I'm used to something different from the Alex restaurants in Saxony. Too bad.

You can sit well there. Staff very welcoming and not intrusive. Saving on heating costs is all well and good, but not when it comes to temperatures. It's difficult given the size, but then you can move the blankets that are otherwise outside inside - everyone can decide for themselves whether they want to take one away. But you don't have to put your winter jacket back on to avoid getting too cold. Unfortunately that wasn't so good.

The Chicken Terriaki was really great. Unfortunately, my schnitzel was a bit dry and the fried potatoes had a bit of a lack of seasoning. Otherwise the restaurant is beautifully and modernly furnished.

A must for every ambience lover and a lover of good food and service. All in all, a successful morning. The only drawback I have is that you pay almost €50.00 for two people for a successful breakfast. Nevertheless, thanks to the restaurant ALEX Mülheim and my wife and I will come back. Overall rating 1- P.S. our dog Poldi also says thank you for the bowl of water.

A really nice, inviting, varied, exceptional atmosphere and good service! The meal I ordered, a (vegan) spicy and oriental falafel bowl, was quite tasty, but the portion was far too small to fill me up and for the price of more than 16 euros. Unfortunately, my apple spritzer was also grossly overpriced.

The food was cold, way too salty and absolutely inedible. I also asked the waitress several times for the bill and only after I waited almost 20 minutes for the bill did the waitress become very annoyed. Yes, of course, I would like to spend the night in the restaurant.

The food was somehow pretty cheap. I ordered a burger and when I took a bite, all the oil just squirted out of the burger. I'm also worried that they'll use old oil to prepare the food because that's pretty much how the food tasted. Definitely never again.

The price-performance ratio is absolutely miserable. I paid almost 40 for a Jägerschnitzel, currywurst, even without fries and a burger. I would have paid 50 if the food had at least tasted the same. The portions were also quite small. Definitely never again.

The breakfast has a varied selection and tastes very good. The scrambled eggs were particularly great.

I ordered a chai latte and fried rice with shrimps. The chai latte tasted like a great usual chai latte except for the foam on top with a lot of cinnamon that stuck to my throat, that wasn’t very enjoyable. Now for the fried rice with shrimps I didn’t expect much but they still managed to disappoint me. The fried rice that came with 5 shrimps on a stick and some cucumber and tomato slices was kind of dry and barely tasted like egg. The shrimps didn’t taste like anything which was disappointing. The cucumber and tomato slices were the only things that made the meal more enjoyable which is hilarious because they weren’t even mentioned in the menu. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was great, the food wasn’t anything special though.

The fish and chips we ordered were also good.

I've had brunch at ALEX several times. Nice personel! No waiting times as the food is self-service. The drinks ordered are brought to the table immediately. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to ALEX. 😃

Everything was great except the service was not attentive to guests. Sometimes when there are few guests, you have to go to the counter to order so that you can order, where the waiter then runs behind you to collect the cash. Maybe not enough staff!!!

After we liked Alex in Oberhausen so much, we thought we would try it out here in Mülheim😊 I had the Pasta Triangole and Menne the Champion Schnitzel, both delicious! The only difference I found between Oberhausen and Mülheim is that sitting in Oberhausen is nicer. Which of course is just my opinion 😊 Service and food were excellent in both 👍🏻 so we are now always spoiled for choice 😅

Unfortunately there are no ten stars that you can give. So five in all categories! Totally nice and fast service! No "plate taxis", but very funny and friendly service, always on the ball and very attentive! Very nice atmosphere! Thank you for the short vacation with you! We always enjoy coming here and take the “holiday feeling” of the top service with us. Great burgers, moderate drink prices... see you soon!

It is a nice place with best service I will go again

The Alex is a great place to just have a relaxed chat with friends. The drinks are really tasty and there is a large selection of different drinks. The food isn't always that good, but of course that's a matter of taste. But the breakfast there is very good!

The vegan breakfast offer at the buffet would be described as not generous, not worth €15.30. But for others it's definitely a good buffet.

New faces in the kitchen could only mean something good and the food quality this time was considerably better

I always thought breakfast included coffee... you had to order it separately... and pay extra per cup... a completely new experience and disappointment... everything else was fine and good... very nice Service...but breakfast without coffee isn't possible

Delicious currywurst with fries

Walk through Mülheim's city center and have a drink at Alex at the end. The location impresses with warm colors and light. Some pieces of furniture may look old-fashioned at first glance but...they are very comfortable and cozy. My very first Baileys Latte in a location like this...I felt very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and nice. That was certainly not the last time that I was able to enjoy myself in this Alex.

I was invited to breakfast by my children. I liked it very much. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

Once and never again (at least in MH) ... Service? Miserable! No greeting at the table when the waiter first came, just a: "You know?" ... And now comes the best or worst thing I've ever experienced!!! The order was taken and less than 5 minutes later the food was there??? How does it work please? Microwave once and you're done? ... Our daughter had the children's menu with fish fingers etc., the mashed potatoes were burnt but cold, hard and impossible to eat! My wife had a baked potato that was still cold, and my burger was also lukewarm! The nachos were old and sticky, and the "baked" cheese was also cold! ...Again, how can all these dishes be ready in 5 minutes and almost cold???? ... In the entire time that we "had to" be guests, not once did a waitress come to the table to ask if we would like something more to drink, or to ask the standard question "is everything OK?" ... We were there on Friday March 8th. , around 5:30 p.m. guests! At least I'm drawing a positive conclusion... As of now, Saturday morning, it hasn't upset any of the three of us! ... To summarize again: miserable service and bad food at a questionable price (given the services received)!!!

No flexibility!!! We were regular customers and ordered the breakfast buffet every 4 weeks on Saturdays. 12 people in number. Now a vegan comes along and we had her. Please, as the buffet is not designed for vegans, that the person does not take part in the buffet but can order individually. This was rejected by the managing director. Only buffet, nothing else is not possible for a vegan as there is no choice. Conclusion!!! These regular customers no longer come back and are satisfied at the Leonardo and it is cheaper too.

First of all: Great buffet, great location, friendly staff - a win for Mülheim! BUT: The price development here appears to be degenerate - far removed from actual prices (“inflation”). Here is the price development for the breakfast buffet since around the end of 2023 / beginning of 2024: 9.90 euros - 12.xx euros - and brand new 15.30 euros!!! Are you crazy?! That's 50% inflation! With all the effects of the last few years with prices currently falling sharply (for food and energy, yes - do a price comparison): That can't be the case. To bag the VAT reduction during the Corona period, to still increase prices at the same time and now to increase the prices again by 50% (in words fifty) within a few months! Don't come to us with increased wage costs. You have earned the two euros per hour of work in recent years by selling overpriced tea!! out. So: what's the point? Edit based on Café Alex Mülheim's answer: Thanks for the detailed feedback. I'll summarize it like this: You, “the catering industry”, received Corona aid (VAT 7% instead of 19%) for half of 2022 and all of 2023, when there was no more Corona. You then did not fully pass on the increased costs for energy and food to us customers. Now prices for food (relevant for the buffet, including oil, cheese, flour, meat, etc.) are falling again, as are prices for energy. Then you, Café Alex, increase the price for the buffet by around 30% before the end of the Corona aid, around mid/end 2023. And now, when the taxpayer's benefit has ended, you increase it by another 20%. For me, this is and remains degenerate pricing. The problem for me is that I had you give me two vouchers when this was - logically - unforeseeable for me. I would have liked to have refunded these vouchers. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. And I could just suggest that you recoup the increased VAT rate through lower prices for food purchases, etc. #GREEDflation

Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere

A visit that's worth it. The Alex is located directly in the pedestrian zone. If the weather is good you can also stay outside, inside there is a spacious location waiting for you. Not uncomfortable, on the contrary! It is divided with comfortable tables and seating areas. The food is delicious, I had gyoza. The iced coffee is also recommended, just as an example. The service is very friendly and quick. Gladly again!
