Food top, drinks very tasty, service/staff 1A, price/performance ratio is right!! Had a lovely evening. The only thing that really left something to be desired was the cleanliness of the toilets. They were very unpleasant. That's the only reason I deducted 1 star.

My friend and I go there regularly for breakfast and have also been there in the evenings and the breakfast and food are very tasty. Portions are large. The staff is also very friendly and are there quickly when you call them or come to the table and ask if everything is ok and if you need anything else.

We went to a business event on December 7th, 2024 and stayed in a hotel nearby. The Alex was only a few meters away on foot. Our team met there for dinner and breakfast. We were very pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is very cozy, service is first class. I was particularly impressed by the service person Pinar. She was always there when something was missing and always did her best in a friendly and kind manner. That was just great, but the other service staff also did a first-rate job. We were very impressed by the food...the ambience was very harmonious with a Christmas atmosphere not far from a small Christmas market...we had booked for 25 people, unfortunately it was very cramped and not advantageous for 25 people to eat in a cramped condition but we managed it. Really delicious - it looks great visually too. The ambience is not my thing but you still feel comfortable. I was there recently with my daughter and wanted something to take away (not really possible) but the staff set it up for us anyway. (I will return the fork :D)

Nice location but unfortunately I can't say the same about those who work there. We also asked for a Pina Colada, which (everything except this cocktail) looked like everything except the cocktail we ordered...And then also the way the bartender addressed us, he wasn't friendly at all and didn't reflect that at all The manner of those who work behind a counter to serve customers...who, among other things, go there to spend their money and ensure that they are paid! The food and drinks were good, but I missed simple or small, low-fat dishes on the menu. Maybe a sandwich, baked potato with quark or something similar. Unfortunately, I had a negative memory of the toilets because the disinfectant dispensers hanging up in the cabins for cleaning glasses were empty, someone had spit on the floor and when I looked closely everything was a bit stained and dirty (walls, trash cans, doors, glasses and lids). .

I can't recommend it any further. First we had to wait more than 20 minutes and no one came to us. Then we had to go in ourselves and call someone out. The service was terrible today, she only came to our table once, took our order, then she didn't show up for what felt like 20 minutes, I had to run to her and ask where our cappuccino was, a short time later she brought it, we were then finished, no service anywhere. The breakfast buffet is great, it is replenished regularly and there is a large selection. Price-performance ratio at breakfast is also good. In the evening the restaurant becomes a bar, the music is quite loud and when the place is full it is difficult to have conversations. Don't go for a cozy dinner, more for a cocktail.

Only 4 stars because the toilets are an absolute disaster. It stinks extremely and so far every time the floor has been dirty and urine and feces have been spread around and around the toilets.

Just the entrance. Not just a rickety metal ramp. The floor was made as a ramp. There are grab handles on both sides (extra points!) The restaurant is relatively large and therefore very suitable for wheelchair users and mothers (or fathers with strollers). We got there very quickly and got a really great table. The drink request was quickly received and delivered. The actual ordering was also relatively quick (at least it was well attended) and so was the serving. The food was really tasty. My mother and I had the schnitzel (chicken) with cream sauce and mushrooms, with fries. Simply highly recommended. The schnitzel was exactly as it should be. My sister had the baked potato with salmon, which she also loved. A big compliment and thank you to the kitchen. I really only have good things to say about the people who work there. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. All I can say is that it was the first but certainly not the last visit there. Another plus is a parking lot that is close by. It's chargeable, but it's probably better than some parking garages if you read the reviews.

On Sundays, brunch is always served until 2 p.m. We often go there on Sundays. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go after 12 p.m. It is no longer refilled independently, especially the warm counter. As a customer, I constantly have to say that the containers are empty. It is only filled upon request and in small bites. Frustrating when you pay €60 for 2 people and don't go home full.

Was there today for the first time in a long time. Celebrated my birthday with my family. Reserved for 10. Price is already very high at €17 for breakfast without a drink! In addition, the heaters there failed. It was just really cold! In addition, there was also a strong pull. This was probably known for two days. Difficult to get a place somewhere else at such short notice. Went there for the breakfast buffet, really tasty especially the fresh bread. Why do I deduct 2 points? I don't think €6 is normal for a large special! It's ok that drinks have become more expensive, but €6!?

We always enjoyed going to Alex, there was nothing wrong with the ambience and the service. It's completely different when it comes to food, according to the motto "it's more expensive now, but worse in quality and quantity." The rump steak for €27.50. Small, totally overgrown and tough. The mini garlic bread was hard and tasteless. At home I ate something first. The Caesar salad was a joke in terms of portion size. Too bad Used to be one of my favorite places. But we'll look for another place to eat in the future.

So Sunday brunch price-performance ratio is not recommended.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years! But it has slowed down a lot, some of the food comes frozen, tk goods! Or cold the plate is warm... Price performance is in the upper range what we Can't accept... You can also tell that the service isn't as good anymore... Very unfortunate The furniture as well as the decoration are very nice! Last chance missed, unfortunately we won't be coming anymore or maybe at some point... It's a shame ☹️

Really disappointed how bad this place got over the years I was a customer. Service was always an issue as you normally wait minimum 15 min for someone to take your order, and another 15 min to receive your drinks! Unreasonably long time to get served. Never have enough servers for the amount of tables they have. We always went for Sunday brunch. Food tastes okay when you finally get some because the most popular items are constantly empty and they just don't keep up with refilling them. Broken high chair was given to us which we couldn't use to sit our child and nobody cared to fix it. Why even bother being able to book a table and request a high chair? Other 2 were in use and once again nobody cared to bring us one of them once the other people were done using them. Best was the end, made a plate of pancakes with some syrup and asked politely if I could have a bit of whipped cream to go on top, got some bs excuse that this is not part of the price and they can't give me any?! You are literally serving huge buffet for 21 euro a person, including high expens items such as salmon, but a bit of whipped cream is two servers explaining to me they can't give me any? What a way to lose customers. Just avoid this place and this horrible service with servers that keep changing all the time.

Absolute horror service. An infant was specified when making the reservation. We were given a broken high chair to use. The meal/brunch was an absolute failure. Everything was always empty or cold. Our table was full of used cutlery and plates. We weren't even asked for or cleaned up. Never again!

Well, what can you say? The Alex now really leaves a lot to be desired. I'm the last person who doesn't understand that restaurants are raising/have to raise prices. But then don't also lower the quality and portion size. Today I ordered a Caesar salad. Sorry guys, but that's not possible (see photo)!!! And no, I didn't eat half the plate before I took the photo. That was actually the entire portion, not even lovingly or creatively prepared. Unfortunately the taste doesn't mean anything at all. Unfortunately, garlic/herb baguette also without garlic. My son's burger (from the lunch menu) was OK. He enjoyed it. My daughter's schnitzel with mushrooms also tasted okay. But here again... what kind of mini portions did those become? 1 small schnitzel with less than a handful of fries, side salad served in a mini bowl for €16.90. No, I don't understand that. Service was friendly and attentive. There's nothing to complain about there.

Went for breakfast today with a reservation. The breakfast buffet was 90% empty. The waitresses didn't come to refill it. For a price of €.15.30 and the extra coffee at €4.10, this is simply overpriced. 1 bottle of water for €7.00 is excessive I imagine a nice, cozy breakfast to be different. Statements like a lack of staff don't interest me in this case. The staff doesn't care whether the guest was satisfied when checking out. Been there again after years but I won't come back. For this price I prefer to go where the price-performance ratio is right.

Habe heute Fried Pizza Rolls mit Speck und Lauch bestellt. Bin von Preis Leistung sehr enttäuscht. Die Füllung Speck und Lauch War nur rudimentär vorhanden. Der Beilagensalat seinem Namen nicht Würdig. Zum Preis von 10,70 habe ich mir etwas anderes vorgestellt. Nie wieder Alex! Kann kann ich nicht empfehlen. Einzig die Bedienung war Seh freundlich und bei der Kritik Ruhig und freundlich geblieben. Offensichtlich hat sie damit Erfahrung.

We come from the area and have been going to ALEX for several years. We are also aware of the economic situation in the catering industry. But the price has now been increased for the third time in 2024. In some cases by more than 60-100%. A salad with turkey strips has now reached €18. Price increases are ok in the current situation and respect this, but then making the portions 1/3 or even half smaller is a double adjustment and really no longer fair! Plus it costs a 0.7l bottle of water costs 7€ a 0.25l water: €3.80 A 0.5l orange juice spritzer: €6.30 an iced tea 0.5l: €6.50 and a latte almost 6€. Today we had the breakfast buffet with two adults and two children (!!!). The price at the end was so high that even the waitress became suspicious and printed out the receipt for follow-up checking. 2 adults/2 children breakfast buffet with drinks for 104 € WOW! The ALEX is very nice, you can sit very well. The ambience is also very nice. The waitresses in LU are always friendly, really try hard and provide great service. However, the pricing policy is unfair and absolutely exaggerated. Apart from the fact that we can no longer afford a breakfast for over 100€ and a bottle of water for 7€ and don't want to, we hope that those responsible will adjust the prices appropriately again so that customers don't slowly die off here too begins. It would just be too bad... Unfortunately we are out of ALEX for now. We enjoyed being here and always enjoyed the hospitality and the food. We were at Alex this evening. The renovation was beautifully done. Stylish, modern, urban. The food, however, was just mediocre. The taste is bland and the price is not justified for the portion size. Visually, without question, flawless and beautifully prepared! However, I noticed that the toilets in the basement were anything but okay. No soap available, no paper towels, no trash containers, paper flying in the corners of the toilet cubicles and around the vanity. The hand drying cover is on the floor. Very messy. Pointed out to the counter lady that there was no soap, she said she would pass it on. However, towards the end of the restaurant visit, the toilets were in the same poor condition. This time we spoke to a waitress, but she replied rudely that the bathrooms wouldn't be cleaned until tomorrow afternoon from 4 p.m. That means all customers can't wash their hands? It's probably the least you can do to provide soap, isn't it? She replied that she would pass it on, but she didn't have time to clean the bathroom because the shop was full and she didn't have the key for the soap. (The store was actually about half full) Instead, she whispered to her colleague in front of us about our complaint. My question, dear Alex team, is it actually the case that your toilets are cleaned once a day? And if the soap and paper is empty, are your customers out of luck? (According to the waitress, the place was full) Nobody in the house feels responsible for checking the bathroom at certain times? If this is the case, you should urgently work on your processes to improve the current situation. Unfortunately we won't be coming back. The ambience and the facilities alone are of little importance to us if the food is mediocre and the basic hygiene facilities are inadequate.

I'm so annoyed that it's my last visit. Service has been down here for a while. But today it was enough. I come with my 6 year old child and of course I get the answer that it is full (although in reality it was not full, with many free tables that were only reserved, and after an hour when we were there it always was still free). Then we wait outside and it's cold. Then a group of 6 people come and get the same answer, but after a minute they are invited in and I look at the waiter to see if he is joking as we wait in front of this group. But a man in that group was nice enough to point to us and say, "But they got here before us," and the waiter says, "Yeah yeah, I know." I wanted to turn around and leave, but my daughter insisted on staying. I understand that 6 people will pay more money but this disrespect is unbearable. He didn't care that there was a child waiting outside and it was cold. Whatever, never again.

Today we were at Alex's for Sunday brunch with four people. We all liked the atmosphere straight away. The buffet extends across the entire bar including a side table for bread/rolls, croissants, yoghurt and muesli. Various sausage and cheese platters were offered. Also salmon, tomato/morzarella and various sweet variants. I was surprised at the large selection of warm dishes. In addition to the classic various eggs and sausages, there were also pancakes, meatballs, fried potatoes and warm vegetables. There were also various salads and fruit salad. I'm sure I've forgotten something. A glass of orange juice is included for free. I think the price is more than fair! When it comes to drinks, however, you notice that everything balances out. Nevertheless, a few are homemade and really tasty. Unfortunately we were often out of bread but I wouldn't include that, after all we are at the buffet. The service was very friendly and attentive. The 90s party music at half past 12 was a bit surprising but okay... we had to smile. I would definitely come again. The main map also looked very good.
