The only thing missing for a fifth star is cleanliness in hard-to-reach places (a large chalkboard on the wall covered in dust and cobwebs). BUT, much more importantly, a mouse ran through the guest area twice during my stay. Nobody likes that. The service, food, and drinks were excellent!

My partner and I went here to eat because of the atmosphere and the selection. However, they mistakenly brought us a Premium Oat Burger with chili peppers. (My partner can't eat spicy food.) Also, the waiter was quite rude when we took our order. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident, because mistakes happen.

We were there today and had the waffles with chocolate ice cream. It was incredibly delicious and lovingly prepared. The service was also great, and the staff were polite and courteous. We felt completely at home ❤️

I went out to eat with 6 people, and given the price and everything they offered, it's not worth going there anymore. I had brunch with 12 people somewhere else for 7 euros more, and the atmosphere was nicer there. And what I find a bit cheeky is that the waiter gave himself a tip. It was stored in the card machine. They didn't even ask. Our table was shaking, and one of the waiters just swept the crumbs off the other table with his hand, not with a rag! They should pay more attention to this now!!

We're actually fans and know Alex quite well from other cities. But waiting 30 minutes for drinks and 45 minutes for food? That's no excuse, especially since we were there at 2:30 PM and there were still free tables. There were plenty of servers, but I wondered why it took so long to serve... I asked three times before the food arrived. That was the last time we were here, sorry...

Absolute fan. I usually come here at least once a week and can even call it my regular spot now. The atmosphere there is great and the staff very friendly. Whether alone or with friends, I always feel very safe and comfortable there. ☺️

A disaster. We were there on a Saturday and it was unbelievable. Service was nonsensical. The wait was endless, lasting an hour or more. Overwhelmed staff. Some of them even felt like they weren't even qualified. The coffee had already overflowed when it was brought, and it all spilled onto the saucer. It was left there and quickly gone. The people around us wanted to pay but couldn't because no one came, even after repeated requests. Some left after 45 minutes without paying. I can't say if this is always the case here. Not recommended.

I've never experienced such bad service as here. I ordered drinks: 1 tea, 1 Coke, 1 lemon water, and 1 Alster (a type of beer). After 45 minutes, I asked if they'd forgotten us. The answer was that he would immediately check on the drinks. After the tea arrived, we asked for payment, and, as expected, we were supposed to pay before receiving the remaining drinks... After about 1.5 hours, we left. I don't know who got my Alster 🫣 Absolutely terrible, never again!

We went there twice. The first time, we left after 30 minutes, after being ignored by every server who came by. The second time, things went better. The food came quickly and was very good. The atmosphere was nice, but the service was so-so.

Disappointing! We had schnitzel with mushrooms twice. The salad was so ridiculously small, you didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The schnitzel was crispy and drenched in fat, but the fries were tasty. The first beer we ordered came immediately, the second took 15 minutes. As always, even when you're outside, disappointing.

The service was excellent. I would have expected more from the location (it's in a shopping center), and the decor was appropriate. The food was okay (as with any other chain restaurant), but not outstanding or particularly original. Overall, though, it's definitely a good choice to satisfy your hunger.

Very tasty food, great selection, but unfortunately the acoustics are such that it quickly becomes too loud. Unfortunately, the use of meal vouchers is becoming increasingly limited! With the rising prices, I'm becoming less and less willing to eat here.

A total disaster. The vegan breakfast offering consisted of only hummus and a slice of bread. The waitress couldn't change the bill from the buffet to the coffee we drank. Our table was directly in the foot traffic. The drinks were almost half the price compared to before.

We enjoy visiting this place every now and then. Friendly staff, a good selection of food and drinks. You don't notice the hustle and bustle of the shopping center.

I ordered a "favorite salad" for €11. I was surprised by the look of the plate... 1 quartered tomato and 3 sliced cucumbers, a few assorted green lettuce leaves, and a drizzle of salad dressing with baguette slices on top. Since it was very busy and we were invited to dinner by friends, I at least mentioned it to the waiter, who wanted to pass it on to the manager, but that was it... what a shame!!! The price/performance ratio here is absolutely not right.

I've never experienced a more varied buffet than at Alex. Everything at Alex is just perfect for us: friendly staff who find space for drop-ins even when everything is reserved, and the selection is constantly replenished. We feel welcome here. The only downside: the relatively light roll (should it be a crispy one? :)) is flat and rubbery.

We went there with a group for Sunday breakfast and were absolutely thrilled. The buffet was plentiful and varied. The service was good and friendly. They even arranged several small tables for our group. We highly recommend Alex and will return next time we're in Bremen.

It really depends on when you arrive, where you sit, and who serves you. We've spent some very pleasant evenings here before. However, after today's visit, we decided not to return. The large main room and the terrace are tastefully decorated and offer a pleasant ambiance. Today, however, we sat in the front area, directly in front of the kitchen. The noise level there was extremely high, and the atmosphere uncomfortable—all in all, not a place you'd want to be. This area urgently needs to be redesigned or at least separated from the kitchen. The food is generally very tasty, but the portions are quite small—especially considering the price. The gyoza bowl and the falafel each only contained three pieces. This seems disproportionate and inadequate. Unfortunately, the value for money here isn't right. After placing our order, we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. What was particularly annoying was that the food sat ready on the kitchen counter for about ten minutes—just a few meters from our table. Especially on a Saturday afternoon, in times of a skilled labor shortage in the service industry, one might understand this, but it remains annoying nonetheless. It was also noticeable that several guests left the restaurant after a long wait without even ordering. The biggest criticism concerns the service. Most employees are very friendly and helpful. However, one particular server stands out negatively – not only in our opinion, but also according to other reviews. In front of the open kitchen, he shouted loudly at his colleagues – clearly audible to guests. On previous visits, he had already been noticed for his unfriendly, choleric manner. It is incomprehensible to us that no consequences have been taken here. Today alone, two tables left the restaurant immediately after the first contact with him. Of course, you're not always in a good mood, but you should still remain professional at work.

I ordered a sandwich for lunch. I've never had such a well-filled and well-presented sandwich! It was super delicious with great sauces and ingredients. The service was also friendly and attentive. The value for money was also good. I'll definitely be back.

5 stars – Great service from Elias! I was recently at Alex on the Waterfront with friends and was lucky enough to be served by Elias – and I have to say: I've rarely experienced such an attentive and personable waiter! Elias was friendly from the start, greeted us with a smile, and took the time to calmly explain everything to us. Despite the busy restaurant, he never lost track of things and was always there when we needed something – without being intrusive. I particularly liked his relaxed manner and the fact that he even accommodated small special requests for the food. You could just tell that he enjoys his job and really cares about his guests. Thank you, Elias – this makes a restaurant visit a real pleasure! We'll be back!

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio isn't right at all. Charging almost €23 for a burger with a handful of fries is truly brutal. I understand that food is getting more expensive, but serving only industrial products at this price and charging €6 for a tiny portion of fries with mayo is bordering on extortion! Charging almost €6 for "homemade lemonade" – consisting of far too sweet syrup topped with water – is practically a rip-off! The waiters prefer to stand in a huddle at the bar and chat rather than serve, in a place that's only half full. With two people, we spent almost €60 there for two burgers and two drinks. Sorry, but that's not right! That was definitely my last visit there.

We went there for breakfast on Mother's Day and it was really nice. Our waitress Jana was always very attentive and also very kind. The only thing I have to complain about is that not all of the parasols outside could be opened because they were defective. It was a bit uncomfortable in the midday sun.

Simply put, everything was great, we were only there for a coffee and a delicious cheese cake, but the service was great. Next time we'll eat properly there.

Alex is just a franchise - know one, know them all. What can I say? The food is okay. System catering. Service attentive and friendly. In terms of ambience... Well, I don't want to move in here. A bit too loud for me personally, but that's probably due to the design. All in all, not bad, but nothing special either. The service was friendly and quite quick - maybe a little too inattentive from time to time (e.g. not even letting your eyes wander to see if someone was giving a signal).

The three of us had lunch at the Alex restaurant on the waterfront. On the menu we chose two salads – the “favorite salad” and the Caesar salad, each with chicken – as well as a schnitzel with fries. The salads disappointed us: for just under €20 per portion you expect more than machine-cut, not very fresh vegetables. The toasted baguette served on the side was so hard it was barely edible. The schnitzel was okay, but nothing special either. The restaurant was well attended, the staff was friendly, but seemed overwhelmed at times. Unfortunately, the outdoor area doesn't really invite you to linger due to the heavily worn furniture. Conclusion: The location is nice, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right here.

The tarte flambée with salmon that I had there on April 26th. What I ate, or didn't eat, was so terrible. I was still sick even after hours. It tasted so pungently like the honey-mustard dressing that I left more than half of it. The waiter just said that many people had already complained about it. Although he had informed the boss about it, he had preferred to disappear into obscurity. To make up for it, I was offered an espresso, but I declined.

You sit down at a table and wait 20-30 minutes without an order being taken. The waiters seem completely confused and inattentive. We then just left again - a shame.

Went there with a group of 18 people (with a table reservation) We were amazed by the nice and friendly "guys" who served us. You could tell they enjoyed their job. They were quick and everything went great. The food was delicious (I had the ugly burger) and the burger buns are an absolute hit. The menu selection is very extensive, there is something for every taste. We also had a long table from which we could watch the kitchen at work. The drinks menu is good and the cocktails are very tasty. The prices are in the middle range. The Alex can be reached directly through the Mal, as well as from the outside area. Unfortunately the service was very unfriendly and was unable to admit an obvious mistake. Sometimes it is better to admit a mistake and apologize rather than insisting on your supposed right.

I ordered the pasta with burratta there. Unfortunately, the food was cold and totally oily, value for money was absolutely poor, for system catering! When we asked to heat up the pasta, the chef said no. I won't eat there again and you can eat better for the money. I'm totally disappointed and left my food.

We were invited there for brunch. The buffet was ok but nothing special. Refilling didn't work very well. Unfortunately, many of the labels were still correct, such as: E.g. the strawberry jam was yellow and the apricot jam was red🧐. The waiter at our table was completely overwhelmed. When our hostess wanted to pay, the waiter only gave the OK for card payment when she realized how much TIP she was giving. I thought it was cheeky. Too expensive for my taste for an average breakfast.

I can only recommend it. It got a bit expensive, so I'm thinking about eating there again. But otherwise fine.

Plus: Get a table for 2 without a reservation. It was very loud. When we sat down, we were asked directly what we wanted to eat without even looking at the menu. Every 2 minutes we were asked again, which made us feel uncomfortable, as if we were being processed quickly. In hindsight I have to say that the poor waiter ran the whole place by himself. The “colleagues” stood at the counter and watched as the waiter, who was actually responsible for the tables in the corner where we were sitting, got his feet sore. Impossible. We were very sorry. While we waited for our food, we had a look into the open kitchen - it's always very interesting how much they do at once. Unfortunately, I have to give out strong criticism here too: My girlfriend's steak was touched with her bare fingers, then the chicken fillet for me, then into the salad bowls, then a piece of salmon was cut, vegetables were touched, etc. All without washing her hands in between and without gloves. Some may not see it as critically, but these days there are vegetarians, vegans, intolerances and even religious views that do not support something so unhygienic. We won't come again.

Our number 1 when it comes to breakfast buffets. Always something free for 2 people during the week. We are regulars. Good selection and everything was super tasty.

We went to Alex in the Waterfront for the breakfast buffet. The food was tasty, but the selection was rather average. Refilling sometimes took a while, but overall it was fine. For a relaxed start to the day, you can definitely have breakfast here.
