ALEX Bremen Waterfront in Bremen

Every year I come to Alex with my girlfriend before the Torfrock concert. Our waitress Sonia took great care of us. As always, the food was very attractively prepared and absolutely delicious. We hardly had to wait even though it was completely full. We always enjoy coming here.

A lovely evening with great food and great service. Sonia served us well throughout the evening and was able to give us good recommendations. We'd love to come back!

Been there again for a long time. Went there for brunch on Sunday. Hot and cold dishes are very tasty. For example, we had roulades. Gladly again.

Very nice, nice service and good atmosphere

Big discrepancy between expectations and reality. Announcement: Premium Burger. Delivered: at best average burger with frozen pattie, taste below McD level. Plus a small side of fries for 5.20 euros and 1.60 euros for ketchup and mayo. The atmosphere is cozy but if you want something delicious to eat, go somewhere else. Here you get cost-minimized food from a franchise company.

We ate at Alex at the waterfront yesterday and it was very busy. The food took a while to arrive, but that wasn't a problem as our waitress pointed this out to us straight away. We were super satisfied with the service!!! She was super nice the whole time and despite being busy, she took the time to recommend great cocktails to us!!! Thank you Nele!!! We'd love to come back

I visit Alex often and am very satisfied with the breakfast buffet offering. The service is quick and very friendly. What I personally think is good is that from around 11:30 a.m. the buffet is only slightly refilled upon request, or the kitchen asks what other offer you would like and how much of it, such as pancakes. The point is that no food ends up in the bin at the end of breakfast time - I think that's okay and right. In general, I think that if there is food left over at a buffet, the staff can take it home or use it for other purposes. No food or dishes should end up in the trash, only food leftovers from plates.

We go shopping at the Waterfront several times a year and enjoy a cozy evening meal at Alex to end the day... Unfortunately, our food got stuck in our throats today when a mouse walked right past our table. The waiter noticed our reaction and the shift manager then came to our table. "She's sorry, they and the health department are aware of the problem and if we have any questions, we're welcome to come to her?!?" Strange behavior, maybe close it for a week and bring in the exterminator.

I saw a mouse under the next table indoors during the day yesterday. If you see them in operation during the day, then it could be that there are more. Addendum to Alex's answer: It was immediately reported that there was a mouse but they said that the mouse would definitely be out the door again. It can't hurt to set up a few mousetraps. But no one wanted to hear about it.

The drink we ordered didn't taste good at all and was far too strong. I just tried this one. When I asked if there was anything to fill it up or if I could get another drink instead, I was just told that there was nothing that could be done and that I had to pay for the drink in full. I knew the mixture and it had never tasted so disgusting. The service and goodwill was/is terrible. Also, the dishes are a bit too expensive for the amount you get.

We sat at a table that was very drafty. Then we were moved to the entrance area and there was a draft again. Comfortable is different. But the service was very nice and attentive.

Very bad burger and fries, the beef tasted like rubber, totally overpriced for the food, never again

Just waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers and a portion of fries. The burgers both arrived raw. After returning them, 2 new burgers arrived after another half hour and for €13.50 just for a burger without fries

Quality of the cake is underground! Tastes like cake from the freezer that is already 5 years old. Really watery! Disgusting! In retrospect, we knew why the cake at the neighboring tables wasn't eaten. Operation was totally overwhelmed when the load was under 30% and everything took a very long time. We waited 30 minutes for cappuccino and cake. Order was only taken after 15 minutes. If you go there, you should be full beforehand. At home I quickly went to the toilet because the cake had upset my stomach.

A lot of shops are closed...unfortunately it's not worth it

The staff is very friendly and attentive. Furthermore, it is very cozy and clean here. The food was very tasty, but for me the small salad was a bit dry. I can recommend it to everyone.

I just drank something to refresh myself. The drink was tasty and the service was nice and helpful. Gladly again.

We wanted to have something to eat there on a Saturday afternoon. When my wife sat down at a table, the service staff informed us in a rather loud and unfriendly tone that the table had been reserved. The service staff treated us like air when we looked for another table. We then left the restaurant disappointed.

It's nice to sit, yes. The menu looks great, but the result of the dishes is rather disappointing. The normal cheeseburger for 13 euros was ok, the bun was freshly baked, but the meat was just frozen food, the fries were ok, the plate looked good. But the sweet potato fries with fish fillets were a disgrace, three small fish sticks made from fish leftovers and limp side dishes. The waiter even confirmed the frozen quantity. Not loyal but at least honest. The iced tea was ok, but 6 euros for it...why? We won't be coming back! 50€ for something like that...thanks!

We always enjoy having breakfast here. Despite the alarm and the temporary evacuation of the restaurant, Sonia, Phillip and the other employees remained calm and did everything routinely and quickly even after the alarm ended, although of course everyone then went back in at once. Big praise to the whole team!

The service is great. We were noticed immediately, and we were also asked every now and then whether everything was OK or whether we needed anything else. A big compliment to Derya and the staff Food was also very good. Definitely recommended. I'd love to go there several times.🥰

Brunch at Alex Waterfront was simply amazing! The food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented, with a great selection of classics and creative dishes. I was particularly impressed by the service from Ammar, who was friendly, attentive and always there without being intrusive. His commitment made the visit a special experience. We'll definitely be back!

The food was great as always. It's a shame that the rolls weren't crispy anymore. Therefore 1 star deducted. It was also a shame that the breakfast buffet was so far apart. But it was still really tasty. The service was terrific. Everything fit. I look forward to the next visit.

Delicious food, mostly friendly staff... great clear "Alex" menu. Great view of the Weser. The breakfast is simply amazing 😋 The toilets could definitely be cleaner and the outdoor ambience has seen much better days.😒

Unfortunately, I have to say that the food there was very bad and what you get in terms of price/performance is worth 1 star at best. The waiters try to do their best. That's OK too. But honestly, without going into our menu, what is served there is not pleasing to the eye and tastes comparable to a canteen. Dear Alex team, please do something with the cook and the food. You can't sell a burger like that!?! Then the fries!?! And take €18+ for that? Sorry no more option for me. Do something or people will stay away on average.

Enjoyed a few cocktails on a sunny midday that, thanks to the service, were exactly to our liking. She gave us really good advice. The finger food was very tasty.

Many thanks to Sonia. A friendly but very straightforward service person. Despite probably rather annoying, time-consuming questions, very kind, seemingly honest answers. After a delicious breakfast buffet and a large café latte - still champagne after the orange juice. We felt well looked after, had fun and enjoyed it - thank you!!

The food was delicious. The service was very friendly (different on different days). We like the location too.

Basically a nice location but the service leaves a lot to be desired. This is my third time here and each time I had to wait well over 20 minutes for a waiter to order drinks. After ordering, you wait another good 15-20 minutes for your drinks. Too bad! Unfortunately, the dishes are also very outdated. When I asked if I could get something new, I was told “that’s just the way it is.”

As part of an outing with our residents, most of whom are very old and some of them need wheelchairs, we wanted to go shopping in the Waterfront on August 27th to have coffee in Alex (outdoor area/Waterfront). complete. Unfortunately, our request to open more parasols was rejected, saying there were enough places available, but unfortunately they were in the sun. But extremely unsuitable for our residents in a care facility. Disappointed, we decided on other options. We never expected to experience something like this!!!

The staff was very friendly, drinks came quickly, food took longer but was tasty, we had baked potatoes. A no go for us is sticky, uncleaned tables and chairs, we cleaned our table ourselves with wet wipes. Everything seems a bit unkempt.

The service was great - we were there on a night when it seemed very busy. When we ordered, the waiter told us that the food would take longer - totally fair! The drinks came very quickly. The food (I had a burger) was okay. However, I would have expected more for the price. The same goes for the sweet potato fries - they were almost black. The outside area is a bit old - the parasols could use some cleaning. Otherwise a solid performance - we'll be back, but then we'll have something other than the burger :-)

Nice place to chill! However, the service today was a complete disaster. The cocktails only came when the first people had already finished their drinks. Whether we were forgotten, the ice cream had to come from Greenland, the limes still had to ripen, no matter what! But if you're going to make a faux pas like that, there should at least be a proper apology. Especially since we weren't the only table that had to wait.

Nicely located, but apparently the kitchen is not even designed for 50% seating capacity. We would have had to wait about 90 minutes for two portions of currywurst/fries 🙄😱. If I go there again, which is not impossible due to the location, I will definitely have eaten before...

Nice atmosphere, too many smokers outside is really unpleasant. For me personally, eating is rather bad.

Nice place on the terrace. There are an above-average number of smokers which makes the stay quite unpleasant. Food brought quickly but not worth the money. Burger for 16 euros I can do better. The baked potato had been sitting in the salamander for what felt like two hours.

Welcome to what is probably the worst Caipirinha I have ever been served in my life. Crush ice floated slightly on the surface, you could see brown limes and lemons (which have NO place in a Caipirinha) completely covered in sugar, I'm guessing it was a ready-made mix because there was no brown sugar at the bottom. Afterwards we ordered a Hefe Weizen, a water and a Heartbreaker. The three drinks came 10 minutes apart, the water and the cocktail were okay, the wheat was delivered after 20 minutes with the argument that the barrel was empty. We couldn't really believe it because it was warm. Probably had been sitting on the counter too long. Service incredibly unfriendly, completely overwhelmed. For us several reasons not to visit this Alex again.

What a brilliant restaurant! Class. Service is great, extremely friendly, no matter what you order it always tastes delicious and above all you can sit on the terrace very comfortably in the shade and relax and enjoy a fresh drink. Apart from that, everything always arrives super quickly, there are hardly any waiting times here, even when it is very busy. Always very helpful and solution-oriented with questions etc. The “craft of gastronomy” is still really alive here.

We had ordered a table at the ALEX Restaurant in Bremen, which seemed very sunny when we arrived and asked if we could get another table that was in the shade. The waitress then told me to do her job and then she would sit in the sun. I found this statement very outrageous as there were enough seats available in the restaurant that were in the shade. Maybe the staff should be given training on how to deal with customers

I regularly go there for breakfast with a friend. Are always very satisfied. Top service. Cordially! I can also only recommend the warm dishes. Everything very tasty! There are only deductions for the ambience. Especially the toilets! They urgently need to be spruced up again.

The Alex in the Waterfront and in Bremen offers very good and inexpensive food. The staff was also friendly and very nice.

We sat there for 20 minutes, 4 waiters were smoking near the entrance and no one wanted to work. We waited and left. They do not want to work!

Would really like to give a good rating, but: It seems quite dirty (floors, tables not wiped well), service was friendly but very slow, music was way too loud, food was ok at best.

Unfortunately it's a bit old. When we visited yesterday everything seemed a little dingy, especially outside. Lots of cobwebs and the tables weren't wiped down, but an overflowing ashtray adorned our table. This was only cleared upon request. The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, although friendly. We waited over half an hour for our starter (bruscetta, unfortunately forgot to take a photo), but it tasted very good. After another fifteen minutes our main course arrived. We once had the classic currywurst with fries and I treated myself to a curry dish. Both delicious 😋. However, served rather carelessly. All in all, we left well-fed, but the ambience wasn't convincing.

We were there for breakfast. My conclusion not again. The waitresses were very nice. The ambience is also nice and clean. But for €15.30 per person breakfast buffet you can expect better. Not very appealing selection. Scrambled eggs and bacon need to be replenished more often, the rolls are too soft. And then there isn't even a coffee. We were disappointed. A pity

Large shopping mall, large parking spaces, many different cuisines.

We've been there for breakfast several times and always feel very comfortable. The food is plentiful and delicious. Comments are responded to immediately and in a friendly manner. In general the employees are very nice there.

We had breakfast and were again thrilled at how great it was. And that everything was fresh and super tasty and the staff was always on point and really nice. We would love to come back.

We haven't had breakfast at Alex's for years. Now we have decided to try out Alex again. We would be with 4 children and 2 adults. The price-performance ratio of 15 euros for adults sounded a lot at first because no hot drink was included. But what we were offered at breakfast was absolutely delicious and the fact that children under 6 don't have to pay anything and still get an orange juice is a great service. We didn't miss anything, the kids were thrilled. Especially the pancakes. We will definitely come back. And maybe you could even arrange for at least one hot drink to be included.

We celebrated Mother's Day with our mother and at the end we ate at this Alex. After a short wait, the very nice waitress Leila took our orders. The food came quickly and was delicious and the drinks were also very good. . We rounded off our evening with 2 pieces of cake and a very entertaining conversation with Leila. The prices are good and we will happily come back.

We waited almost 40 minutes when someone walked past us and served next to the table even though we had been sitting there for a long time. I think it's a shame

Overall it was a good recommendation for us. 👍 Here you can choose from a range of good food and drinks... but what you unfortunately can't choose from are other guests, with appropriate behavior... because even if there is something to celebrate, it should be remembered that you are in one Local i. d. R. is not alone... ... that's why it's not primarily about the food, drinks and ambience ... but about the waiters and how friendly they are with their visitors, even if some of the guests seem to have little luck with good manners or are simply too inexperienced. THE SITUATION ... after we found the hustle and bustle in the waterfront a bit too turbulent on Saturday during our multi-day Bremen tour, we didn't go to Alex until Monday (April 15th) so we could enjoy it in peace. 🤔 ... at least that was our goal!? We chose a table by the window, sat down, looked at the menu and waited for the waiter to take our order. Everything was normal so far, except that the background noise unexpectedly increased. ... because unfortunately at exactly this time a group of men tried to order and debate loudly. One or two sips of alcohol had probably already flowed down their throats in this group and it felt like everyone in this group wanted to outdo everyone else. Such a chattering crowd disturbs everyone else around them, ties up the wait staff unnecessarily, slows down operations and just seems ruthlessly annoying. ...at this point I would like to praise and say hello to the waitress(es) who served this "cheeky table" very confidently, even though it certainly took up a lot of nerves and definitely more time than usual, chapeau!!! ... it is equally remarkable that despite this situation and the irritating noise level, due to the inappropriate appearance of this loud horde, the two waitresses, at our table, (almost) nothing was noticeable and to our complete satisfaction we were very friendly, We were served attentively and with a pleasant smile by Laila and her colleague... (Unfortunately we were no longer able to find out the name of the second colleague)

Very nice store located in the Waterfront Bremen... Kitchen is great but staff doesn't listen sometimes when the guest says: something between English and medium... But they are very willing to negotiate and got a new plate :) The meat is of quite good quality and the side dishes are also great... But: you should swap the salad from the bag... :) Gladly again soon and best regards to the team :)

Eaten deliciously, everything was great

The breakfast was very good! The brunch wasn't great and the lunch was really disappointing and expensive. I ordered salmon here for lunch and was served shredded smoked salmon. The food was completely over salted!

We've had breakfast at Alex many times but what's going on with you now isn't actually worth ANY star. 1. We were there at 9 a.m., it would be nice if the table wasn't so sticky and the chairs were clean. 2. At 9:20 a.m. at the buffet and the eggs that had supposedly just been cooked were ice cold😨, when you asked, they had just arrived fresh but we warmed up the eggs again and after about 5 minutes, they were still COLD. Maybe you shouldn't call the eggs from the lecture fresh. 3. The only bright spot was yours Super great service (green hair and eyes decorated with a 🦋) She put a lot of effort into everything and tried to make us happy. She definitely deserves a raise. If you had more of this condition perhaps we would come again. But yeah, no thanks Well, what can you say, it's been a long time since we've been to ALEX because you should give everyone a second chance. But unfortunately we were DISAPPOINTED again 😞 Eggs again (probably from the lecture) ice cold, into the microwave, the last time we paid a little over 10 euros and now 15.99 euros per breakfast plus drinks. With this performance you also expect it to be perfect. But whatever, this is definitely the last time we've been to ALEX.

We were at Alex on Sunday lunchtime and it was very busy, almost all the tables were occupied. The food was first class and we were served very quickly. We would like to come again!

We actually always really enjoyed staying at Alex in the Waterfront. Today a mouse shortened our evening. Apparently the Waterfront hasn't gotten its mouse plague under control yet.

The food was very tasty, as was the drink. We might have had something to drink, but Speedy Gonzales intervened. The fastest jumping mouse 🐁 at the Alex Bremen Waterfront. I'm telling you, I've never seen a mouse jumping so high. Pretty much all the guests at the tables on the wooden stairs left the restaurant. We also spoke to the waitress beforehand, the problem was known and approval from the Bremen health department to continue opening the restaurant was available. Of course these little animals are everywhere, but I personally find it absurd that they are allowed to open when there is such a nuisance as in the waterfront. Others have to close, they seem to be watching. If you look at the reviews, the problem doesn't seem to have just been there since yesterday, but for much longer. As long as the waterfront doesn't get this problem under control, I won't visit them again. It seems to be like that everywhere, videos on the internet, etc. We are definitely disappointed with the outcome of the evening. But kudos to the great waitresses who were so patient with explaining the situation.
