Al Dente in Chieming

Extremely rude and unfriendly blonde lady at the bar/pizza takeaway stand. I actually wanted to order pizza, but was immediately turned away in a very rude and snippy manner, without even being given a chance to speak.

I was at Lake Chiemsee with my family and wanted to order pizza to go. No one was available by phone, so we stopped briefly to order directly. There's a large window that says "Pizza to Go." Behind it, a lady was preparing drinks. I waited briefly and asked if I could order pizza to go (or if that was the pickup area). Annoyed, the lady replied, "No, not now." I was a bit perplexed and looked at the lady in surprise. She then replied, "I'm too busy, come back later, in about half an hour." Well, not to pick up the food, but to place my order. So I can't comment on the food or the ambiance—the somewhat "different" service preceded that.

A beautifully located restaurant. The pizza was okay, but could have been cooked a bit more thoroughly. The shrimp tagliatelle, on the other hand, was extremely flavorless, and the pasta was overcooked. This dish should definitely be reconsidered.

Very good food and friendly service

A very nice spot right on the water. Large, delicious portions. The server was right there, very polite, and pointed out the daily specials.

Delicious food. Unfortunately, a female server behind the "take-out" counter was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. Although the weather was nice, it wasn't possible to order outside. So you have to order takeout and sit outside. This means that drinks (including Spritz) are only available in paper cups, and a panna cotta can't be taken outside because it's already in a glass. Strange – other people were allowed to take beer outside in beer glasses...

Right on Lake Chiemsee, in a very beautiful location. The staff is very friendly and quick. We only had antipasti, but they were very good.

We reserved a table online a week in advance. The reservation was confirmed by Luca Leon Fleissner. We arrived on time, but were told that online reservations weren't a good idea at the moment because the terrace was always very full. (That's why you make reservations, right?) After a brief discussion, we were advised to wait in line. Very poor customer service.

Our order wasn't taken for 40 minutes, and then we were told it was too late to eat. Service was completely overwhelmed. We left the restaurant hungry after an hour.

A very nice restaurant, and the food was incredibly delicious. They also served a shandy...wow, I've never had such a delicious shandy. The outdoor area is also very nice. Unfortunately, we didn't get to sit directly on Lake Chiemsee. It was rainy and cold when we spent a few days there. When we left, I grabbed a "Betthupferl" (a pizza) for myself. It was sooo delicious... :) The restaurant is highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant right on the lake. We paid just over €40 for a pizza, a large mixed salad, and two drinks. So, it's on the expensive side. The waiter could improve his friendliness a bit.

Beautiful location right on the lake. Good service and very good pizza. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything. The only downside is that there is no parking at the restaurant. Unfortunately, there are only paid parking spaces at the lakeside resort.

I'm really disappointed. €32 for a small steak and a tiny portion of potato casserole. When I say tiny, I mean tiny. I wasn't even asked how I wanted my steak. The other dishes seem fine and tasty, but I'd advise against the steak... A huge disappointment.

We (two adults, one toddler in a stroller, and a dog) were about to go to Al Dente for dinner, but were initially ignored for several minutes. After being rudely assigned a seat, we were again rudely verbally pushed out of the way. We can't comment on the food or the ambiance, but in the first few minutes alone, we felt unwelcome and went elsewhere.

We had very different experiences at Al Dente. Last year we were absolutely thrilled. So it was clear that we would come back on our short vacation this year. The view is of course a dream! Anyone who wants to enjoy the evening atmosphere by the lake is really well advised here. Unfortunately the service this time was really not satisfactory. First we were brought the wrong drinks, then our pizzas were completely forgotten and only arrived after more than half an hour when we asked. They tasted very good. But we had several hairs in a pizza and when we reported it back, all we were met with was: "And what should I do now?" When paying, the obligatory question is: “together or separately?” to which we replied: "separately please" and then received a sigh with rolled eyes in response. So all in all, we unfortunately didn't feel welcome at Al Dente and don't even get me started on the totally disgusting toilets. It's really a shame...

Unfortunately we are not satisfied.Salad with curry chicken strips was not tasty because the green salad was gnashing between the teeth not washed properly, chicken unfortunately like chewing gum.Service well no smile from the waiter and when he said something he just mumbled.It's a shame for such a beautiful spot on the lake.

Service: was very unfriendly from the start Toilets: very unhygienic and smelly Food: very small portions. Among other things, we ordered rigatoni Napoli, which unfortunately wasn't good at all and so we only ate two pasta. The rest was okay but not really good. When we were clearing away the waiter asked if it was good and we told him that unfortunately the tomato sauce wasn't good at all (I usually never complain, even if I'm not completely satisfied) and he said "okay, why?" And then we said, “Unfortunately, it tastes like unseasoned canned tomatoes,” then the waiter said, “No, that can’t be true, it’s all homemade.” We then asked for the bill and he left without further comment. The bill was then presented to us including the full price for the noodles and then he left after paying without saying “goodbye/have a nice day” or anything like that. Very, very poor complaint management and very poor customer service.

Food upper middle class, service tried hard, but otherwise as you would expect from a heavily touristy restaurant. Pizza seems to be their forte, and people order a lot of it.

We ate again at Al Dente in Chieming. The best pizza in the whole area. I go there with all visitors because it is a highlight and also has the best view of the Alpine foothills and is located directly on Lake Chiemsee. The service is excellent and very friendly even when there is a lot of crowd. I always enjoy coming back there!

We were here as a family for the first time today. Everything was just great. The location on the lake is beautiful. Ambience and service top. After ordering, the food came in less than 10 minutes. That was great, especially for the children. The service was very child-friendly. The food tasted very good. We say thank you and will come back soon.

The view of Lake Chiemsee is breathtaking. The pizzas were very good. However, the service could be improved, we were ignored at the entrance for ten minutes by all the waiters for no apparent reason before we were assigned a seat.

Incredible location right on Lake Chiemsee

Very nice restaurant, super friendly staff and super delicious food with a beautiful view of Lake Chiemsee.

The food was great, the service was first-class! The pizza is difficult to cut with knives. Perhaps they could add knives with grooves, similar to steak knives. It's really hard work getting the pizza into small pieces. Or cutting the pizza into eighths in the kitchen wouldn't be a bad idea either. But as mentioned, the pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads are very good.

The pasta is completely tasteless. The pizza was good, but the pasta is inedible. Even after adding seasoning. What a shame.

The view of Lake Chiemsee is incredibly beautiful, the pizza was quite tasty, the carbonara was unfortunately not prepared in the classic way and was unfortunately very creamy. All in all, I had a nice, quick lunch with a view here with a little bit of room for improvement (:

The restaurant scores with a beautiful location and a great lake view. The service is friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the starter was a disappointment - the taste was subterranean. The pizza was OK but nothing special. The pasta and the second course with meat, however, were successful, as was the espresso. What marred the experience for me personally was the lack of authenticity. There were no Italians in the kitchen or in the service, and you can tell that overall - be it in the preparation of the food or the atmosphere. So overall a mixed experience: good location, nice service, but not the Italian experience you might be hoping for.

A wonderful meal in a cozy atmosphere right by the lake. The tablecloths and place settings were tasteful, and the service was quick and pleasant. The pizza was excellent – ​​with airy dough and perfect taste. Now we want to come more often and try more dishes!

I always enjoy visiting this restaurant, especially in the summer months. It is located right on the lake, so sitting outside is of course highly recommended in summer. The staff is really on the ball and very friendly. The food is good and you don't have to wait too long. There are enough parking spaces, but there is a charge. All in all, always worth a visit.

The food, 2 pizzas, 2 salads was mediocre, plus there were 2 apple spritzers to drink = €65!!! Families and tourists are attracted here, definitely not recommended! The only positive thing is the view of Lake Chiemsee.

Very nice terrace (sheltered from the wind and even with a heater), great service, pizza was good, but rather small and quite expensive, hence the point deduction. But overall it was nice there. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the breathtaking view of Lake Chiemsee.

The prices are far too high for the quality. Pizza was delicious for €16.50, but salad with fish for €22 was not ok!...

Echt nettes Ambiente, aber qualitativ haben wir hier früher besser gegessen. Auch die Preise sind nur bedingt akzeptabel. Von daher sind die anderen Bewertungen durchaus nachvollziehbar. Familien scheinen leider überhaupt nicht willkommen zu sein. Wenn man die Lage berücksichtigt, ist man ja durchaus bereit, etwas mehr zu zahlen. Aber 5.40 Euro für 0,4l Orangenlimonade / Fanta ist dann nicht gerade kinderfreundlich (insbesondere wenn 0,5l Weißbier "nur" stolze 5.20 Euro kosten). Beilagensalat €7,50 und Pizza Regina €15.80 sind hoch, aber eben noch akzeptabel. Für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder sind wir mit €100.- rausgegangen. Das geht dann leider sicherlich nicht regelmäßig.

Stopped here on our bike tour around Lake Chiemsee. We received a super friendly welcome and were given a place right on the water. Couldn't have been better. But I could imagine that it would be difficult to get a seat there after 6 p.m. Food came quickly, pizza was great, waiters were super friendly. The right shop for that holiday feeling. Very clear recommendation.

Real juice shop. The only thing that attracts you is the location but otherwise outrageous prices for completely greasy, limp pizza. The two behind the counter haven't heard of good service either. In addition, the order was wrong and onions were left on the pizza even though they were not ordered. The people who give good reviews here have apparently never eaten really well lol

Worst service experience of my life. Only male service staff with bad manners, you felt really threatened, you were just insulted or ignored or punished with evil looks. I was eating there today after a bike ride. I ordered the pizza to take away. The waiter said it should be ready in 7 minutes. After a good 10-15 minute wait, I became suspicious and wanted to inquire about my order, not that I had been forgotten. From here on I was disappointed by the service. What was more important was emptying the dishwasher and polishing the glasses right in front of me. Then the lady went away and sent her colleague. This colleague (from whom I also ordered) had completely forgotten about me. After my explanation and some discussion about whether I had already paid (which I already had), he noticed that my pizza was actually already ready. Unfortunately, it was already less than lukewarm. I'm sorry I paid in advance. I was able to discard my suspicion that it might be a little more crowded in the restaurant after taking a look inside and outside. I'm a little disappointed because I normally enjoy eating here. In general, the service can be a little friendlier and better trained.

I tried to order a pizza pan with grilled vegetables as a vegan option, unfortunately the service staff couldn't or didn't want to fulfill my request, they were able to type in pizza vegetarian without cheese. The salad that was ordered with vinegar was unfortunately still with yogurt. The pizza didn't taste like anything. Service flop, vegan unfriendly, the atmosphere is great, really great location.

Once again: location, location, location! Very nice house right on the lake with tables on the veranda and in the large beer garden and a great view of the lake. The food is also super tasty, the service staff is very friendly and attentive - what more could you want after a beautiful day on and at the lake... a perfect end to the day at Al Dente!

We went to Al Dente on a rainy day. We were happy to be offered a place on the terrace with a heater because it was fresh. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, except the salad should have been dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. But I guess if that's what you want, you can definitely get it. The price is appropriate for the location, but not excessive. 2 meals 1 salad 2 wine 1 water = €60 we thought was ok. We'd love to come back.

Very nicely located, right on the lake. Terrace under trees by the water, beautiful. The food was great, friendly service. The price is a bit more expensive, but I have to say it was worth it. Very pleasant atmosphere. I can only recommend it.

Update 0824 - we were really looking forward to it. And yes, it still exists. Food again excellent and freshly prepared. Sitting is really great. The boys were quick and friendly again. Can only be recommended. (that was my first review) An unexpected great kitchen. In short you think, yes, an Italian😉. But the boys are doing a good job. The water bowls for dogs were just as important as the two-legged guests. We only had antipasti, but they were excellent. We heard there was a lot of reservations for the evening.

If you want to feel bad go to this place after 8pm!! You are not welcome there. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. You probably have enough guests there. There is no food. Drinking was possible for 1 hour. Invoice arrives promptly. Open until 10pm...forget it. You will be kicked out before 9:45 p.m. I was glad that I was still allowed to go to the toilet!!! When I said I wouldn't come back, the staff even said loudly that they didn't care if I came back. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Underground.
