It was fantastic. There were four of us there with our dog, and we had a fantastic view of Lake Chiemsee with its sunset. The pizzas were perfectly topped, and the crust wasn't too thick or too thin. We were very satisfied with the taste. The tiramisu was a dream. The service was perfect, with a great waiter, very attentive and not short of words. We had dinner with five people tonight, and it was still perfect.

Food: One of the oiliest pizzas I've ever been served. The taste was below par for the price of €12-17 per pizza. Unfortunately, most of the pizzas arrived burnt at the table. Service: Obvious service issues or feedback about the dining experience were met with a stoic "I'll pass it on." The service was prompt and attentive; there's potential here! The ambiance inside is poor and cramped. A Bella Italia vibe is nowhere to be found. Comfort? More like a tuck-away.

We enjoyed a dark wheat beer, a super delicious pizza, and a sundae with hot raspberries. The pizza had a super thin base and crispy crust. We'd be happy to go back. A very nice restaurant right on Lake Chiemsee. It's an Italian restaurant and has a very good selection of food and drinks. Very tasty. The view from the garden is also stunning. The restaurant is very cozy and beautifully decorated. The food was very good, and they serve really good dishes. They also have mussels. Unfortunately, mussels were only available during certain months, but they were worth the wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Despite having a reservation, we only got a table on the terrace in 10-degree weather. Our waiter had little understanding of our extreme cold and only after repeated inquiries did he tell us where we could get our own blankets. The waiters' sense of humor was a matter of taste.

We didn't get the reserved table by the window, but the food and service were excellent. Despite the large number of guests, the server was cheerful and made us laugh several times. They even accommodated our special requests for the meal. Thank you for a wonderful evening! 👏👌😊

A very nice restaurant with motivated staff. The menu offers everything from pasta and pizza to fish and meat. My Bolognese was plentiful and delicious. The tiramisu was also delicious. The only downside is the paid parking.

A very good Italian restaurant with a stunning view of Lake Chiemsee. The front-facing seats, facing the lake, are popular and quickly booked, but the other seats further back also offer excellent views. The small antipasti platter as a starter was one of the best I've ever had at an Italian restaurant. We will be back.

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner last Sunday after our arrival. It's a truly beautiful location right on Lake Chiemsee. The staff is very friendly, and even though the beer garden was completely packed, we never had to wait long for our food!

We've been to Al Dente many times and have always been very satisfied. We had visitors yesterday and wanted to please them, so we went back to Al Dente. There were four adults and two children. Unfortunately, the service this time was very, very poor. After the drinks arrived quickly and we placed our orders with the waiter, a main course of spaghetti with seafood and one of the two mixed salads we ordered arrived after about 10 minutes. The orders for the remaining main courses – Pizza Chef, Pizza Margarita, Rigatoni, and a fish platter (which was very limited) – only arrived after about 30 minutes when we asked the waiter where the rest of the food was. Then we had to wait another 20 minutes. The second salad didn't arrive at all! Nobody knows what the problem was. But no one apologized, which is completely unacceptable!

The food also completely convinced us: great quality, fresh ingredients, and excellent value for money. Everything is just perfect here – from the ambiance to the service to the food. Sign at the entrance says: You will be seated. However, you are simply left waiting for a long time and ignored. Not recommended. You don't feel welcome here as a guest. It's a real shame.

Very nice and located directly on Lake Chiemsee, with a nice beer garden. I made a reservation via the website tool, although I had the feeling it wasn't as busy as advertised. The food was delicious, the prices are absolutely reasonable for the location, the portions, and the quality, and the service was quick. Service: A smile doesn't hurt, and not everyone can handle the "local" sense of humor. It seemed rather brusque and taciturn, and the warmth and feeling of being truly welcomed was somewhat lacking. Hence only 3 stars for this area, but everyone can have a bad day sometimes. But definitely a place to go again on your next visit to Lake Chiemsee.

I've known al Dente since 2019 and was a regular there until the change of management. My first visit yesterday. A different reservation, but it was great! It was nice to see familiar faces in the service after a long time. My pasta vongole tasted perfect; it could have been just 50-80g more spaghetti. My mother's small pizza speciale was also okay. I'll probably go to al Dente more often; I felt completely at home and at home again. Apart from that, there was nothing else to complain about.

Four of us went out to eat and after a five-minute wait, we got a seat in the beer garden right by the lake. The food and drinks arrived quickly. The food was very tasty, and there was something for every taste. We'll be back.

We had lunch there during a stopover. The setting is superb. View of the lake, in the shade of the trees. The bruschetta was delicious, the pizza was ordinary. The service was mediocre: 2 glasses for 4 because we only had a large bottle of water...

Unfortunately, the quality of the restaurant has noticeably deteriorated. The tablecloth was dirty – the only positive thing was the beautiful view. There were two of us and we ordered different pasta dishes. Shortly afterward, we both experienced severe stomach cramps and persistent gastrointestinal discomfort. Very disappointing and annoying.

Maybe we were just unlucky. We had rigatoni al forno. It was prepared with lots of cream and salt, but the Bolognese sauce was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, it tasted very bland. On the other hand, the service was very friendly. We were seated without a reservation and received excellent service. The location is very beautiful.

The food was okay, not outstanding, just average. A typical tourist restaurant for one visit. I was very disappointed because the waiter "accidentally" didn't give us the €10 in change and left the money for my companion instead of me. Only after I asked for it did I receive the €10, but without any comment. We won't be back, even though we live nearby. What a shame!!!!!

Well, I was just thinking about my first visit to Al Dente while having breakfast tea. So I'm going to vent my frustration now so I can wrap things up. A few weeks ago, I was there with two friends. The employee showed us to a table. I then politely asked if the table was really free because the sign said "reserved." The employee snapped at me: "If I say so," and pulled a face as if I'd just insulted his mother. The guests at the neighboring tables heard this too. We then ordered three dishes (pizza, salad, pasta). We waited an hour and 40 minutes for the food. The guests who sat down at the next table after an hour got their food 20 minutes before us (we had been forgotten). When it came time to pay, I politely told the waiter (not the one who showed us to the table) that I was not satisfied with the service because of the two points mentioned above. Therefore, I don't want to tip and want my change back (€0.50). The waiter slams the change down on the table with great force and snaps at me, "I don't need that," while pulling a face like it's been raining for three days. I don't know when I've ever experienced such unfriendly staff in a restaurant. But I want to be fair. There was a very large wedding party in the restaurant that day. They were all just running back and forth with the trays. Things can get a bit chaotic, and friendliness unfortunately falls by the wayside, and the bad mood is then taken out on the nearest person. We're all human, and everyone has a bad day sometimes. By the way, the food was absolutely delicious. The price was right, too. I would definitely recommend Al Dente.

This place is a disgrace! I've rarely experienced such bad service. They're way too fussy. Unfortunately, there's no point going there with two people. We stood in line for 40 minutes because they gave priority to larger groups. Finally, we were told we couldn't get a table for two. Thanks for nothing. A disgrace!

Worst pizza we've eaten in a long time. A vegetarian pizza with old vegetables, celery, and onions. The cheese is also old. Very disappointing. And all for €15.

We were there for dinner when a violent storm hit. While the world was ending outside, it was pouring with rain, and the storm made it dangerous under the trees, we were still thrown out of the restaurant because it was closing time 😬. We found that very inappropriate. Apparently, it's all about our money and not about hospitality and the safety of our guests. The whole thing happened in 2024, but I'm still annoyed about it today.

There isn't a single children's dish on the menu, not even something simple like fries or a small portion of pasta – although that would be really desirable in a beer garden with a family clientele. The service was also disappointing. The gentlemen serving didn't seem overwhelmed, but completely disinterested. Not a friendly word, no asking if they enjoyed their meal, no clearing or taking the menu – that's what you'd expect from good hosts. Additionally, we were served Campari carelessly in a water glass without a straw, a piping-hot Coke, and a side salad that seemed just as careless as the service. On the positive side, the very good pizza and the beautiful view in the beer garden deserve mention. Nevertheless, we're certain that we won't be returning here.

It could have been so nice if the totally greasy food had arrived at the same time and the tattooed, smelly waiter hadn't made stupid comments.

I cannot recommend the restaurant "AL DENTE." We were very disappointed with our visit. We wanted to order pasta al dente – the waiter said that they cook their pasta in advance and "you get what's on hand." This is completely unacceptable for an Italian restaurant, especially at these high prices. The service was poor: The waiters were unfriendly and reacted irritably to normal requests. My lemonade came in a dirty glass – you could clearly see lip prints. After we asked for a new glass, all we got was water with a slice of lemon, no syrup or flavor. We ordered a salad, a coffee, an apple strudel, and a lemonade. The bill: €40. Far too expensive for the quality and service offered. ❗️The restaurant AL DENTE is not worth recommending. Poor service, mediocre food. We won't be back.
