Al Dente in Chieming

I always enjoy visiting this restaurant, especially in the summer months. It is located right on the lake, so sitting outside is of course highly recommended in summer. The staff is really on the ball and very friendly. The food is good and you don't have to wait too long. There are enough parking spaces, but there is a charge. All in all, always worth a visit.

The food, 2 pizzas, 2 salads was mediocre, plus there were 2 apple spritzers to drink = €65!!! Families and tourists are attracted here, definitely not recommended! The only positive thing is the view of Lake Chiemsee.

I am re-rating this restaurant after several visits and have deleted my old rating. I was there 3 times last year and always completely satisfied. Really. There is nothing negative to say. The staff are nice, the chef is quick, everything is clean and it's a great view!

Very nice terrace (sheltered from the wind and even with a heater), great service, pizza was good, but rather small and quite expensive, hence the point deduction. But overall it was nice there. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the breathtaking view of Lake Chiemsee.

The prices are far too high for the quality. Pizza was delicious for €16.50, but salad with fish for €22 was not ok!...

Echt nettes Ambiente, aber qualitativ haben wir hier früher besser gegessen. Auch die Preise sind nur bedingt akzeptabel. Von daher sind die anderen Bewertungen durchaus nachvollziehbar. Familien scheinen leider überhaupt nicht willkommen zu sein. Wenn man die Lage berücksichtigt, ist man ja durchaus bereit, etwas mehr zu zahlen. Aber 5.40 Euro für 0,4l Orangenlimonade / Fanta ist dann nicht gerade kinderfreundlich (insbesondere wenn 0,5l Weißbier "nur" stolze 5.20 Euro kosten). Beilagensalat €7,50 und Pizza Regina €15.80 sind hoch, aber eben noch akzeptabel. Für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder sind wir mit €100.- rausgegangen. Das geht dann leider sicherlich nicht regelmäßig.

Stopped here on our bike tour around Lake Chiemsee. We received a super friendly welcome and were given a place right on the water. Couldn't have been better. But I could imagine that it would be difficult to get a seat there after 6 p.m. Food came quickly, pizza was great, waiters were super friendly. The right shop for that holiday feeling. Very clear recommendation.

Real juice shop. The only thing that attracts you is the location but otherwise outrageous prices for completely greasy, limp pizza. The two behind the counter haven't heard of good service either. In addition, the order was wrong and onions were left on the pizza even though they were not ordered. The people who give good reviews here have apparently never eaten really well lol

Worst service experience of my life. Only male service staff with bad manners, you felt really threatened, you were just insulted or ignored or punished with evil looks. It's a shame because the location is unique, but if you not only feel unwelcome but also threatened, you can only advise against visiting...

I was eating there today after a bike ride. I ordered the pizza to take away. The waiter said it should be ready in 7 minutes. After a good 10-15 minute wait, I became suspicious and wanted to inquire about my order, not that I had been forgotten. From here on I was disappointed by the service. What was more important was emptying the dishwasher and polishing the glasses right in front of me. Then the lady went away and sent her colleague. This colleague (from whom I also ordered) had completely forgotten about me. After my explanation and some discussion about whether I had already paid (which I already had), he noticed that my pizza was actually already ready. Unfortunately, it was already less than lukewarm. I'm sorry I paid in advance. I was able to discard my suspicion that it might be a little more crowded in the restaurant after taking a look inside and outside. I'm a little disappointed because I normally enjoy eating here. In general, the service can be a little friendlier and better trained.

I tried to order a pizza pan with grilled vegetables as a vegan option, unfortunately the service staff couldn't or didn't want to fulfill my request, they were able to type in pizza vegetarian without cheese. The salad that was ordered with vinegar was unfortunately still with yogurt. The pizza didn't taste like anything. Service flop, vegan unfriendly, the atmosphere is great, really great location.

Once again: location, location, location! Very nice house right on the lake with tables on the veranda and in the large beer garden and a great view of the lake. The food is also super tasty, the service staff is very friendly and attentive - what more could you want after a beautiful day on and at the lake... a perfect end to the day at Al Dente!

We went to Al Dente on a rainy day. We were happy to be offered a place on the terrace with a heater because it was fresh. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, except the salad should have been dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. But I guess if that's what you want, you can definitely get it. The price is appropriate for the location, but not excessive. 2 meals 1 salad 2 wine 1 water = €60 we thought was ok. We'd love to come back.

Very nicely located, right on the lake. Terrace under trees by the water, beautiful. The food was great, friendly service. The price is a bit more expensive, but I have to say it was worth it. Very pleasant atmosphere. I can only recommend it.

Update 0824 - we were really looking forward to it. And yes, it still exists. Food again excellent and freshly prepared. Sitting is really great. The boys were quick and friendly again. Can only be recommended. (that was my first review) An unexpected great kitchen. In short you think, yes, an Italian😉. But the boys are doing a good job. The water bowls for dogs were just as important as the two-legged guests. We only had antipasti, but they were excellent. We heard there was a lot of reservations for the evening.

If you want to feel bad go to this place after 8pm!! You are not welcome there. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. You probably have enough guests there. There is no food. Drinking was possible for 1 hour. Invoice arrives promptly. Open until 10pm...forget it. You will be kicked out before 9:45 p.m. I was glad that I was still allowed to go to the toilet!!! When I said I wouldn't come back, the staff even said loudly that they didn't care if I came back. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Underground.

Everything fine. Service quick and friendly, food great, atmosphere too. Prices okay. The only drawback: Given the size of the outdoor area, a non-smoking area would be great. For example on the wooden veranda. Or a smoking area away from the dining tables. This means the delicious food can still be enjoyed outdoors.

The lack of staff is also noticeable here. On days with a high number of guests, the waiters quickly become overwhelmed and unfriendly. Prices have risen significantly, and the panoramic view doesn't make up for that.

Wir gehen schon lange (seit 15 Jahren) ins Al Dente als Einheimische. Das Essen war für uns nie der ausschlaggebende Punkt, aber halt immer ein Erlebnis aufgrund des netten Service und der grandiosen Lage ! Aufgrund der angehobenen Preise stimmen nun Preis-/Leistung gar nicht mehr. Zu guter letzt kommt nun als Krönung auch noch ein derart billiges Olivenöl auf den Tisch, das in der Glasflasche grün scheint, sobald man es benutzt erscheint ein vermutlich gepanschtes Billigprodukt, das nicht annähernd nach Olivenöl schmeckt. Und das beim Italiener. Schade, schade ! Unter den Einheimischen hört man auch keine Empfehlung dort hinzugehen. Nach einem Jahr Besuchs-PAUSE wollten wir es wieder wagen. Das war ein Fehler !

The pizzas were quite disappointing: thin dough, pepperoni thrown directly from the can to the pizza, grossly sliced (not tasty at all). The Wiener schnitzel was taking a bath in the plate (too much water, even not tomato sauce). Quite expensive for poor quality. Sightseeing was amazing and staff was kind and friendly.

Wir haben mit der Familie seeehr gut gegessen. Für die Kinder kann man die Pizzen als extra klein bestellen und war für die 9-jähriger ideal. Außerdem gibt sehr gute Tagesgerichte. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tische waren genug frei . auf was wir warten sollen hat sich und nicht erschlossen. wir sind dann gegangen. man will sich ja schliesslich nicht aufdrängen. wenn man die letzten Bewertungen hier liest haben wir nichts verpasst….

Food was super delicious 😋 The service wasn't good, I had the impression that the man didn't feel like serving us and was just annoyed by everything. We saw inside, it was just too warm for this time of year, unfortunately everything outside was reserved, although I'm not so sure about that either. I had the impression that the reservation signs were only on the tables, that more people couldn't sit down because no one Then I wanted to use it.

Food was very tasty, but also expensive compared to others. Unfortunately service wasn't the best. I asked for a recommendation and was dismissed with a stupid comment. A good waiter asked after dinner whether it could be dessert or coffee, unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Ich habe 10 Jahre im Chiemgau gearbeitet und gelebt. Das al dente war mein Favorit rund um den Chiemsee. Seit mehreren Jahren komme ich immer wieder gerne als Tourist hin. Erlebnisbericht von Mo, 17. Juni 2024 Schon beim Betreten des Lokals kommt man (meine Frau und ich) sich vor wie ein Bittsteller. Ein Tisch bitte, ich schaue mal... dieser wäre noch frei (Katzentisch) links zur Terrasse raus. Karte wortlos auf den Tisch - was zu trinken ? nach geraumer Zeit, die Frage nach dem Essen ? Essen kommt: gr. Salat ohne Brot, kein Besteck, Essig und Öl nachgeordert da nicht auf dem Tisch. Spaghetti aglio e olio kommen, reklamiert... 5 Min später kommen die Spaghetti Vongole, Spaghetti aber nix al dente sondern verkocht (min. 12 Minuti) schade. Beim Bezahlen sagte ich die Spaghetti waren weich..hätten sie doch was gesagt... wer reklamiert schon zweimal ein lapidares Nudelgericht. Dann, als Entschädigung das Angebot Grappa oder Espresso, wer kennt das nicht. Dazu muss ich nicht nach Chieming fahren. Das Personal dem ich gerne auf Augenhöhe begegne ist altgedient, Abnutzungserscheinungen inklusive. Vorschlag, weniger Interesse am eigenen Tattoo, mehr Interesse an der Kundenzufriedenheit, oder den Beruf wechseln. Das al dente ist ein klassische Beispiel mehr wie durch das Alleinstellungsmerkmal, grandiosen Lage, die Qualität mehr und mehr den Bach (sprich Chiemsee) runter geht , sehr sehr schade.

Man kennt es ja das Al Dente als Einheimische! Man kennt auch die Bewertungen! Und heute mussten wir es uns mal wieder ansehen. Das Gute zuerst: Sehr freundlicher Service, toller Gastgarten mit wunderschöner Lage am Chiemsee! Innen auch sehr ansprechend und sehr sauber! Aber beim Essen gibt es sehr viel Luft nach oben! Bitte, bitte macht was aus diesem tollen Ort!

Had our family trip and was able to be a guest at Al Dente. Outdoor area with incredible views. Service was quick and charming - good for a joke without being intrusive. And most importantly, the food: everyone enjoyed their food. Absolutely fresh and great. Absolute highlight: the sea bream. The pizzas were also excellent.

The Al Dente on Lake Chiemsee quickly transported us to Lake Garda in Italy. We had whole fried fish and classic noodles. Combined with the first-class service and the ambience at the lake, it was magical with the 3 children! Not cheap but worth every cent! Thank you very much and gladly again!

Über die vielen negativen Bewertungen sollte sich der neue Inhaber schon ernsthafte Gedanken machen. Wir sind/waren seit über 20 Jahren Stammgäste im Al Dente. Der frühere Inhaber Klaus war ständig präsent und hat mit seinem Team alles bestens gemanagt. Das Essen war seinerzeit gut und die Preise angemessen. Das Serviceteam ist zwar das gleiche und immer noch kompetent, aber die Qualität der Küche hat stark nachgelassen und vor allem, was alle Bericht zeigen, sind die Preise einfach zu stark angestiegen und die Portionen kleiner geworden. Ein Fischgericht zu 34 € und dann nur noch die halbe Portion wie früher, das passt einfach nicht mehr. Auch Pizza und Pasta sind im Verhältnis einfach zu teuer. Natürlich kommen Touristen aufgrund der schönen Lage auch weiterhin, aber Einheimische wie wir werden das Al Dente meiden, denn bei diesen Preisen macht es keinen Spass mehr, trotz netter Kellner.

Food, service, ambience look good so you can imagine why three stars! And we actually always went there when we were at Chiemsee. But make up your own mind! We were surprised when we got a spot in a packed parking lot on a good weather day and there were still a few free!

First of all: we had a really great evening there, were served nicely and had a great meal. We also had a great place right on the lake. Since it was our last evening, we didn't want to worry about money. That was necessary because it wasn't cheap. Really not. Even if you "only" eat a pizza and have two drinks, you'll still be spending just under €30 per person. But there can't be any wine there either. We haven't regretted it and it would be uncool to complain about the price afterwards after knowing that we had a good time. But you just have to know what you're getting yourself into.

The prices have risen massively. Food was never spectacular, but we accepted it for the beautiful view. Now the price/performance ratio is no longer right at all. 15-20 euros for an average pizza? 32 euros for a frozen sea bream? There are so many good restaurants in the area with beautiful views, very good food and much better value for money

It's a shame you can't give zero stars. Extremely unfriendly staff. That was an absolute failure. At 8:43 p.m. we stood at the order counter for the take away pizzas to order 4 pieces. When we said hello, there was no greeting in return - but instead we were told "Make it quick" - we still had exactly one minute to place our order, as no more orders were being accepted at 8:45 p.m. That's an absolute disgrace... especially since the restaurant doesn't close until 10 p.m., we were there before 8:45 p.m. and just wanted to order pizzas, which are usually made in 10 minutes. apparently neither guests nor good reviews nor sales are needed here.

Ein schöner Biergarten mit Aussicht auf den Chiemsee. Aber besser nix essen. Der Vorspeisenteller war vielfältig (selbst der kleine) und völlig okay. Jedoch vom Angebot auf der Tafel, die am Baum hängt, sollte man die Finger lassen: fabrikgefertigte Gnocchi in (Tüten?-)Sosse (Cognac-Sahne: wo?) und ein paar Fleischfetzen (Kalb? Eher Schwein). Alles ein salziges Mischmasch. Dazu 1/2 Apfelschorle für ganze Eur 5,20. Also: Aussicht genießen!!

Wir kennen das Restaurant seit Jahren. Das Essen war noch nie spektakulär, aber dafür ist halt die Aussicht toll. Jetzt haben sie aber massiv die Preise angehoben, und die Qualität ist wher wieder schlechter geworden. Wirkt wie Touri Abzocke. Es gibt so viele Alternativen am See mit ähnlich schöner Aussicht, sehr gutem Essen und viel besserem Preis Leistungsverhältnis. Lage ist halt doch einfach nicht alles…

Wir waren zweimal während des Urlaubs dort und es war beide Male klasse. Die Atmosphäre am See ist einzigartig. Reservierung ist ratsam (im Garten nicht möglich). Das Haus bietet frische italienische Küche an. Wir hatten Carpaccio und eine gemischte Vorspeisenplatte und im Hauptgang Pasta und Rinderfilet mit Grillgemüse und Rosmarinkartoffeln. Alles kam in hervorragender Qualität auf den Tisch. Passende Weine und andere Getränke kamen zügig und gut temperiert. Der Service war stets präsent. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt in meinen Augen. Es werden alle Karten akzeptiert.

The restaurant is located directly on Lake Chiemsee with a great view of the Alps. Unfortunately the food wasn't what I would have expected. Pizza was very small for a price of €17, I think if you use high quality products you can definitely charge higher prices but for a normal pizza that's totally over the price.

Very nice Italian restaurant right on Lake Chiemsee, with a beautiful garden right on the lake. Even though it was very busy, the service was very friendly! We ate pizza, it was good, the dough was different than what I'm used to typically Italian, but it was still good. At the next table there was calamari, which also looked very good :) Price performance for Chiemsee is also ok! Afterwards you can take a wonderful walk along Lake Chiemsee, go boating, swim or play mini golf ☆
