Great Italian, we ate delicious food and drank good wine. The conditions were very nice and prudent.

Flavorful, high quality, wide choice, nice presentation and excellent wine served by a super kind Italian speaking man with seats on steps of a sloped tiny street.

Very great location, super nice atmosphere, the food was quite okay :) we expected more for such a well-rated Italian restaurant, the gentleman who served us felt friendlier to other tables. The food came quickly and we were seated straight away, which served its purpose, but unfortunately everything else wasn't inviting.

We used to love going to this restaurant, even with guests or on special occasions. Now we were there for the last time. We gave the kitchen a chance twice this year: once we ordered pasta and the next time we ordered pizza. Both times the quality was subpar and absolutely not appropriate for the price. The pizza dough tasted like industrial goods, was soft and floppy. The toppings were floating on the pizza and it didn't taste like anything. The pasta on our previous visit was drowned in oil, so I had stomach problems afterwards. A pity! Unfortunately never again.

When I visit Tübingen, I usually go there to eat: because it's always good! Great food, friendly service and acceptable prices. Great!

Service and ambience really good. My wife had Spaghetti Tonno&Caperi, which was quite good. I had Pizza Diavolo, the oil floated on top, the dough wasn't "cross" at all, it looked like industrial goods, but unfortunately the taste was worse. I felt bad afterwards. Pizza pictures from other reviews actually looked better. For the high price of pizza and pasta on average €17, I would have expected more. I'm afraid we were there last time.

Al Dente in Tübingen is a cozy Italian restaurant in the old town, just a few steps from the town hall. The atmosphere is pleasant, with a charming mix of traditional and modern decor. The menu offers a good selection of classic Italian dishes. We particularly recommend the pasta, which is always cooked perfectly al dente. The homemade bolognese and carbonara are also delicious. The prices are fair and the quality of the food is consistently good. Definitely worth a visit.

Delicious pizza and pasta. Nice atmosphere, very friendly service. But not exactly cheap. 7.50 euros for 0.1 l of Prosecco is quite steep.

I was there today with my dad, he was moved to tears because the food reminded him of my grandma's food. We were speechless about the delicious food and the service was very good. The boss was very warm to us and we felt very well served. I absolutely cannot understand the bad criticism about him.

Pretty good pizza for Germany. Good base with a good level of charring around the edge and leoparding on bottom, but flavour combinations a bit teutonic for my taste. Excellent service though delivered in a mix of Italian and German, and a very nice atmosphere.

Pizza was good, but far too small for an Italian pizza. More like a children's pizza. It's almost cheeky to serve such a small pizza for such a price (16.50 - Pizza Tono).

The food is actually quite okay. But the boss doesn't work at all... the way he treats his lovely waitresses is really not nice... total hierarchical thinking. The women are supposed to adore him... He also serves us ice cream in a hot bowl. Unfortunately we can't recommend it.

Peggior ristorante Italiano nel quale abbia mai mangiato in 12 anni di viaggi di lavoro in Europa. Ho ordinato pappardelle ai porcini e mi è arrivato un pastone per il cane. Pasta stracotta con sugo carico di panna e menta, si avete capito bene, MENTA evidentemente per coprire gli odori. Ho notato che tutti i sughi erano identici al mio quindi deduco che provengano dalla stessa mistura. Da evitare assolutamente. Da italiano mi sono sentito preso in giro

Wir wurden von zwei freundlichen und motivierten Damen im Wechsel bedient. Getränke und Vorspeise kamen schnell. Meine Tomatensuppe war lecker; schade fand ich lediglich, dass die Pizzabrötchen nicht warm kamen sondern schon etwas gelegen haben müssen. Die Hauptspeise meiner Frau und unseres Freundes kam, meine Pizza aber erst nachdem beide bereits fertig waren und auch nur auf Rückfrage. Als ich scherzhaft meinte, als Entschuldigung sei ein Martini fein, willigte man ein. Daher bewerte ich nicht schlechter, auch wenn das Gemeinschaftsgefühl beim Essen dann ausblieb an der Stelle. Das Panna Cotta kam dann wieder zeitgleich und schmeckte gut. Preislich alles etwas höher angesetzt als in der näheren Umgebung, die Qualität passt aber weitestgehend auch.

Wirklich willkommen fühlt man sich leider nicht. Der sehr mürrische, fast wirsche Ober/Inhaber wollte nach 10 Sekunden schon wissen, was man trinkt. Er wirkte immer leicht genervt und passiv-aggressiv. Seine Stammgäste älteren Semesters scheint er aber netter zu behandeln. Das Essen war schnell gebracht, es hat super geschmeckt, angesichts der großen Portionen fand ich den Preis auch okay.

Sind spontan rein. Sehr ruhig und angenehm. Die Pizza war richtig lecker nicht zuviel belegt, aber auch nicht zuwenig. Optimal! Wir haben nicht lange gewartet auf das Essen. Knapp 10 Minuten. Wurde gleichzeitig serviert. Aufmerksame Bedienung!

Mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Tübingen! Pino ist sehr bemüht und das Essen schmeckt immer sehr lecker. Große Empfehlung Carpaccio Rucola und Spaghetti al salmone. Wir kommen immer gerne wieder :)

Zunächst das Positive: Der Ober (mutmaßlich der Inhaber) war sehr freundlich und ist auf meine Wünsche eingegangen. Das Ambiente wirkt sehr gepflegt, gemütlich und einladend. Das schwerwiegend Negative: Die in sehr überschaubarer Größe gelieferte Pizza Ruccola mit Parmesan (es wurden gerade einmal sechs schmale Parmesan-Streifen garniert) schmeckte ordentlich, war aber - der eben genannten Gründe wegen - mit 15 € deutlich zu teuer. Der Salat (kleiner "Mista") war eiskalt und bestand zu ca. 80% aus billigstem Eisbergsalat inkl. dessen massiven, praktisch nicht genießbaren Salatherzen. Dafür waren die 6 € absolut unangemessen. Der Gipfel hinsichtlich des vorliegenden Preisgefüges wurde durch die 8 (!!) € für ein Viertel es einfachsten ital. Weines (Primitivo) erreicht. Fazit: Ware unterdurchschnittlich, dafür deutlich überteuert. Ich wurde das Gefühl nicht los, dass hier jemand auf dem Trittbrett der sog., jedoch längst nicht mehr wirkenden Energiekrise fährt. Ich werde das Gasthaus nicht mehr besuchen.

Very cozy and interesting place to go. Food was good and tasty. My mozzarella salade came on a huge plate, one might consider it a whole meal. Very big portion 😀! The pizza was tasty and not too oily. The lady serving us was very kind and even refilled my glass several times. She also gave us a lot of info on the food. Very good service! The dessert was very good too! The only thing I didn't like is the atmosphere where the interior is so small. I hit my chair several times with another guy's chair behind me. But overall pretty good 😊, give it a try 👍

My favorite Italian restaurant in Tübingen! Was there twice, and both times were great 👍🏻 We enjoyed the pizza, pasta (benne with salmon, with shrimp and pink sauce), Gnocchi with tomato sauce. All orders were really delicious 🤤 The Chef supervised everything himself, which is a huge bonus. Definitely will be back.

Bruschetta war außerordentlich gut. Das war’s leider auch schon.. 15 Euro für Spaghetti aglio e olio, ist mehr als eine Frechheit. Selbst wenn die Nudeln selbstgemacht worden wären (sind sie definitiv nicht…) absolut überteuert. Service war sehr unangenehm und unfreundlich

We hebben heerlijk gegeten, dit is een echt Italiaans restaurant! Zowel de penne alla wodka als de pizza quarto formagi waren heerlijk. Ook de service was goed en zeer vriendelijk, net als de sfeer. Het is een aanrader!

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend an einem Samstag! Der Service der super-engagierten Dame war sehr sehr freundlich! Das Essen (2x Fisch) war frisch und sehr lecker. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Wir sind sehr enttäuscht, vor allem weil wir das Lokal anhand er Rezensionen ausgewählt hatten. Das Risotto war nicht durchgegart, der Reis noch hart und es fehlte das typisch Schlotzige eines Risottos. Der Salat "al Dente" war völlig ohne Geschmack. Hauptbestandteil war Eisbergsalat. Eine halbe Avocado, zwei Stücken Tomate und zwei Scheiben Gurke krönten das Ganze. Es fehlte das Dressing und vor allem Gewürze. Öl und Essig am Tisch waren von keiner guten Qualität. Der Preis dafür jedoch eine Frechheit. Die Pizzen und die Pasta Gerichte mögen gut sein, aber nicht mit einer Gluten Intoleranz. Schade, dass viele Lokale Intoleranzen noch immer nicht auf dem Schirm haben.

Das Restaurant ist sehr hübsch und die Bedienungen sind extrem schnell und höflich. Die Gnocchi fand ich nicht gut genug für den Preis, aber alles andere war super. Ich empfehle das Restaurant sehr, man gibt schon bisschen was aus, aber dafür kriegt man auch einen sehr guten Service.

Meine Pasta war Durchschnitt, eher etwas lieblos.

Wir haben uns essen zum mitnehmen bestellt eine Spagetti Bolognese hat 13 € gekosten ,in den Boxen war nicht viel drin für den Preis .Statt der Bolognese haben wir dann eine Tunfisch Tomatensoße bekommen .Der Laden hatte jedoch schon zu Sodas wir uns nicht beschweren konnten

Immer wieder gerne! Wir waren heute spontan bei ihm und wir hab ein Platz in der Terrasse bekommen ohne Reservierung. Eden mal wann wir gehen der Chef und die personal sind unglaublich freundlich,immer mit diese wunderschönen Art von Italien 🇮🇹,gefühlt das du echt in Rom bist! Alles mega lecker,große Wahl zum Essen!

Die Lage in der Altstadt ist natürlich perfekt. Vor allem unten im Gewölbe sitzt man in traditioneller Atmosphäre. Das Essen war ok, der Service flott.

Das Restaurant ist insgesamt ok-gut. Die Pizzen schmecken wirklich sehr lecker, aber sind auch sehr überteuert, wie das andere Essen, aber dafür schmeckt es wirklich gut. Die Atmosphäre/Räumlichkeit ist klein, aber fein. Und der Chef und das Personal sind auch sehr nett. Es lohnt sich aber ab und zu mal hin zu gehen.

Ein sehr tolles Haus. Ich habe es empfohlen bekommen und es ist mehr als eine Empfehlung wert. Tolle Pizza und super tolle Nudeln dazu einen kleinen Salat und es war perfekt. Selten so ein tolles Essen bekommen. Ich kann nur sagen weiter so. Ach zum Personal es hat alles prima gepasst.

Das Essen schmeckt vorzüglich! Frisch und perfekte Portionen! Das Ambiente ist sauber vom Eingang bis zu den Toiletten, picobello 👌🏼! Die Tische sind geschmackvoll mit echten Blumen dekoriert. Das Restaurant selbst ist nicht wirklich groß aber der Platz wurde hervorragend genutzt, gemütlich und geschmackvoll. Der Service ist sehr professionell, schnell, freundlich und ist sich auch bei viel Betrieb für ein Gespräch nicht zu schade. Wir wohnen 80km weit weg von Tübingen aber hier werden wir auf jeden Fall noch einmal essen!

Also das Ambiente ist echt schön, die Bedienung und Chef sehr nett. Die Preise haben sich leider echt gewaschen. Die Pizzen waren gut, aber echt kein Highlight. Beim nächsten Mal würden definitiv eher ein Nudelgericht wählen...die vom Nachbartisch sahen nämlich sehr appetitlich aus.

Mein lieblings Italiener in Tübingen Altstadt. Nach covid könnte ich endlich wieder reisen. Diesmal war ich alleine, hatte nicht gebucht, alles war voll. Trotzdem habe ich, nach kurzer warten ein Tisch gekriegt. Pasta, Wein und Bedienung. Alles Prima.

Very small restaurant with some tables joined that you sit with total strangers. There is no English menu and the staff do not speak English Food is not authentic Italian food.

Ran into this restaurant by accident: really good experience: great food (bruschetta and grilled vegetables for starters, pasta al forno for main), excellent wine very affordable (only minus: it was served quite warm (Day temperature was 30°c) so maybe they could chill the wine a bit next time. Very very Nice in a great litlle town.

I ate in this place twice for lunch and pasta was delicious. I tryied “orecchiette con cime di rapa e pomodorini” and “Pappardelle con anatra e funghi porcini” both better than in several place in Italy. Also the service was really fine and everyone was very kind.

I went to this restaurant for the first time almost a decade ago. I remember eating their Rucola salad. The ingredients were so good it blew my mind. Went there recently and ate Spaghetti Arrabiata. The taste was very good and the quantities were huge. The Tiramisu was incredible! Their service is excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. Will be happy to go again.

This is the place for pasta in Tubingen. Freshly prepared by a very friendly staff. Helpings are large, so order accordingly. Also enjoyed the outside table where you could watch the street life during dinner. Great, friendly place!

We dropped in for a late dinner (21:30) and were delighted by the friendly welcome and in general the friendly service, also the nice decor. We both ordered pasta dishes, which came quickly, in fact a bit too quickly to be a relaxed dinner. The food tasted good but it fell short of being great. (Perhaps we were spoiled by the excellent restaurant we recently visited in Nürnberg). Somehow it appeared hastily prepared and not lovingly made from scratch. The panna cotta for dessert tasted good but was so soft the waitress has to apologise for it. Overall the experience was okay, and in fact the food fair for the pretty good price (30EUR for two main courses, a shared dessert, a beer and a mineral water). Just not the Italian where you would say "we must go back". If you find my review helpful, I would appreciate your vote.

For sure one of the best Italian restaurants in Tubingen in very nice environment; mid if Old town. Very good Pasta and alo very good main courses, excellent atmosphere and good wine. As it is in Old town, no parking but the walk over there is wort doing it.

I went there with friends. The dishes are okay, but the interior of the restaurant is quite special.

You get a fresh drink with a mix of Prosecco and red wine from Apulia while you wait cause it's basically always full. The owner is from Bari and keeps a tight control of the restaurant but still with a great atmosphere. Food is just delicious and house wine is such a bargain. Service is very quick and friendly. No wonder people are going back to Al Dente!

the service is good food is good what to keep in mind: if you order sth with cream, you get a meal with a LOT of cream. not only a bit, its a lot and it will nearly bring you into a coma (ok that may be a bit exaggerated). Ive had there lunch a lot of times and can recommend the place. If you are visting tuebingen you should give it a try.

Unlike other Italian restaurants in town, this one has a knowledgeable Italian wait-staff. The place is charming--carved into the old city wall, very near to the river. The food was good both times we went. Tomatoes were in season, so the tomato salads were wonderful. The risotto was delicious, as were the sole, the salmon, and the monkfish. The pasta eaters were also very satisfied. And the prices were reasonable.

Sometimes, when I miss Italian food (pizza, pasta, wine!), I will go there, and I like the atmosphere as well. It is a wine cave and quite romantic. They also have steaks (around 18 Euros). So if someone wants to have a relax night, it is a good choose, and the price is also moderate, for pizza and pasta is between 8 Euros and 12 Euros. But the only negative thing is that there is little space for sitting outside, so if you want to stay outside, this is not the place for.

Soup and bread great, pizza ok, pasta terrible. Nothing like Italy, even though it seems most of the personnel is Italian. They are trying to adapt to the German taste too much. Portions are way too big, pizza is soggy and pasta is simply wrong.

An italian restaurant near the famous "Stiftskirche" (church) with a nice atmosphere and good italian food. In warm days it's possible to eat outside. The restaurant is not very cheap but the quality is worth to pay a bit more.

This is a very nice Italian restaurant with excellent pasta dishes (and we have hard the pizza is good as well, but we haven't tried it). The service was friendly and attentive on a very busy weekend night. The mussels were excellent as well.
