Nice atmosphere by the water. You can eat comfortably and have a great time. The service is very motivated and funny. The food is very tasty and tastes very good. I have never seen such a nice restaurant in the area. I would definitely recommend it.

The steak as the main component was very good and to the point! I also thought the bread with aioli beforehand was great. However, I found the side dishes - fries, gratin and sauces - to be improved. Therefore overall 9/10. The operator was nice and seemed competent. Ambiance is appealing.

Unfriendly service, I can't say anything about the food, I'd rather go to Alex to have a drink and have a snack. If you just want to have a drink here at lunchtime, 6 people are not welcome here and the waiter gives you a single card. Note it was empty Tuesday at 4 p.m.

We received a very friendly welcome and were always served attentively and friendly throughout our stay. A big compliment goes to our waitress Viola, who was extremely friendly and attentive. She made the evening perfect with her bright smile and excellent recommendations. The cozy atmosphere rounded off the experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can only recommend this restaurant! We had dinner here yesterday. We had a beautiful place right on the water. The service was super friendly, personable and funny. The food came quickly and was incredibly tasty (we had the special cheeseburger and the pork medallions). All in all it was a wonderful experience and everything was just right, we'll be back 🫶🏽

There was nothing to complain about about the food, the meat was well cooked, to the point requested, but the person who served us, we believe, did not really like it when we asked for the menu of the day that he had announced, since he only gave us the menu, Quite expensive by the way, without the menu, and then he gave it to us reluctantly.

Contrary to the reviews, I didn't find the food convincing. The hamburger was big. The pork fillet with mushrooms, however, had hardly any mushroom taste. The mashed potatoes were also rather mediocre. There were no ice cubes in the cola. The price of the cola, however, shocked me even more. 0.5 liters cost €6.50. I find it more than exaggerated. I won't come back.

We were there yesterday on July 13th, 2024 and had Champion Frame Schnitzel, the sauce didn't taste good and there were three mushrooms on it, the fries weren't good either, the food is not recommended, it doesn't taste good, the price €15.90 is simply loveless 😢

Very tasty food at a great price-performance ratio. Good service. When it comes to the burger, you can especially taste the good ingredients and the charcoal grill. The veal schnitzel was fresh with a breading, as it should be.

So I was at an Al Carbon stand at the BBQ Festival at Centro. The burger - you can eat it. But there is criticism... The patty was a bit too small for the bun. The bun, on the other hand, was very good! Really really good. But the patty was too small for the bun. I also feel like the patty wasn't seasoned enough - and it seems to have been kneaded for too long. The dry aging of the beef was probably not long enough because you couldn't taste it. So all in all - you can eat well! However, there is clearly room for improvement. Also, the burger is a bit overpriced for what you get. I estimate the patty was only 130 grams.

Positively surprised as these Centro Promenade stores are actually all very poor in terms of service etc. This restaurant is unique! Friendly and active staff, fresh, delicious food, super unusual ambience and TOP price!!!! Some nearby steakhouses can learn a thing or two ;) Gladly again !

I was there today for my 15th birthday, the people were so friendly, the food, the staff, and even the atmosphere was very good and positive. Everyone wanted to be there and it was just one of the best birthdays I've had

Every year we go to Oberhausen once or twice a year. To end the day we will have a bite to eat in one of the many restaurants on the outside. This time it was here. We had a delicious meal here and we will definitely go back again.

Fast service, there is still some room for improvement with the rump steak but it was basically OK.

Their staffs are friendly and kind. They have English menu. We ordered rare “the family…”, it was delicous and it was enough to three person (two adults and one child). “Aliuo with bread” was good. Spanish wine is no wonder 💕

In our opinion the best restaurant on the square or at CentrO. High prices, but mostly absolutely worth it! We eat here a lot at the moment and it's almost always great. The burgers, the bread with homemade aioli, and the lamb fillet skewers are highly recommended! Likewise the grilled salmon. Unfortunately, it wasn't good on our last visit, where it was quite crowded (filled inside and on the covered terrace and outside by the water). The salmon was very burnt on one side from the grill and overall very dry. It's probably been left on the grill for a little too long. My partner didn't like it at all this time. There was no accommodation with the bill afterwards, even though the prices were at the upper end (as was usually the quality of the food). But only on this one occasion out of 10 or more visits in the last 3 months was the food there associated with a weakness. The service is very friendly, but sometimes they don't seem to work as a team. You tell the waitress that you want to pay. After almost 10 minutes, the colleague who is responsible for the table arrives and doesn't know anything yet. As a rule, a few minutes after serving you will be asked if everything is okay. But when it's full, this is often forgotten. You could also ask the guest when ordering the dry aged burgers what level they want (well done, medium, rare,...). The first time it was perfect for us with rare-medium. On all other visits it was rather well-done and a bit too much for us. At the moment, despite these small weaknesses, my absolute favorite restaurant with great food. It would be perfect if the little mistakes could be corrected.

Have eaten there very often. Never been disappointed. Meat is always tasty and served to perfection. Super cool and nice waiter.

The main course followed 3 minutes after the starter. The food was fine. When the waiter saw that the tip was small he laughed out loud and continued to ignore us. Bizarre. Perhaps he thought the tip was too little, but as far as I know, tipping is not customary in Germany? Despite that, I found the response downright rude.

It's ok, the meat is of good quality. The service is sufficient. There are ONLY and exclusively smoking areas outside - which are also very close together. The order came quickly, but those from the other tables were also offered to us first, there was little overview. The Chateaubriand was delicious, the cooking points were all in one piece, well done to medium rare, well. No Bernaise and no way to make one?!?! Potato gratin without nutmeg, no crust, not gratinated and the fries weren't homemade either. All in all ok and still somehow. Basically it's like BlockHouse and PeterPanne, but it wants more euros for it

That was the best thing I've ever eaten so far. A carpatio that melts in your mouth. Veal schnitzel so tender and delicious that you could eat it every day. The service was very amusing and entertaining. Overall everything was super super good. I can only recommend it 👍👍👍

You have to say the service is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. We were there with a larger group. The food seemed to be of good quality BUT unfortunately almost everyone got a cold meal, cold fries, fillet of beef almost cold and not as ordered and the rest too. That's a real shame and shouldn't be like that.

A real surprise. Went here for a business lunch because of the location. We liked both the really good food and the very good service. We ordered our food based on a recommendation and both the starters and the selection of steaks and side dishes were well received by everyone.

Definitely recommended. A great selection of food with very friendly service. The ambience, located directly on the promenade, is part of a successful meal. The food was on point and particularly tasty. Every now and then we asked whether there were any further requests, but without seeming intrusive. The price for food and drinks as well as service and ambience are completely okay!

One of the worst services I have ever seen. Especially the way the lady staff serves drinks is enough for me not to choose this place. I do not recommend it.

Almost 20 euros for a César salad with chicken and unfortunately it wasn't good! The chicken was super dry and therefore almost inedible, the dressing was hardly there and therefore not only the chicken but also the entire salad was dry.

We had a wonderful evening in this cozy restaurant. At first I thought it was a restaurant chain because of the thoughtful design. But I quickly felt the personal touch that indicated that it was owner-run. The staff was incredibly friendly, incredibly fond of children and accommodating. You could feel her passion for her work and her joy in giving her guests a wonderful evening. The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was delicious. Overall, it was a perfect evening that we would like to repeat if we were to travel from Cologne to Oberhausen again.

We weren't thrilled. Burger ok, fries solid and didn't taste good. The Caesars salad was a joke. The quantity was very manageable and there was only iceberg lettuce with 3 half cocktail tomatoes, parmesan and dressing. I know it differently.

We visited Al Carbon for the first time yesterday and had made a reservation beforehand. When we arrived we were greeted very friendly and given the choice of whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. We were happy to choose the outdoor area, which was very pleasant despite the slightly colder temperatures thanks to the patio heaters. As a starter we ordered a mixed starter platter - which was served with excellent bread warm from the oven. For main courses we chose grilled octopus 🐙 (highly recommended) and T-bone steak. Unfortunately, we needed a second attempt at the steak, as it initially arrived at us cooked through instead of medium. However, the service was excellent and responded very quickly. A new steak was promptly served and the visit was perfect. We were impressed by all the dishes and we would love to come back. We felt very comfortable.

We were Al Carbon for the 2nd time. Everything was good the first time. We would definitely have given it 4-5 stars. Unfortunately it will stay that way twice. The steak I got was good. The beef jus we ordered was also good. The fries for both dishes, well. Unfortunately, what wasn't good at all were the spare ribs. These were full of fat and it was very difficult, if not impossible, to remove the bones. What should also be mentioned is the good and polite service. When we brought up the topic of spare ribs when paying, my partner was immediately offered a drink (nightcap, coffee). All in all, unfortunately not a successful evening. For this price you would have gotten more in another restaurant. Unfortunately, the Al Carbon failed for us and is being avoided for the time being.

Unfortunately I can only give it five stars because the service alone is not typically German, but rather like in a star restaurant. All dishes are worth every penny and can really do something! I am completely amazed at what is being conjured up here. I only know that from abroad. Great 👌🏻 Addendum: today, May 2nd, 2024, we are here again for dinner. Result: Quality and service 1a and the level maintained. Delicious, delicious, delicious 😋

We had a spontaneous meal here today. We then ordered rump steak with grilled vegetables and fries from the lunch menu, everything was on point, both in terms of preparation and taste.
