Everything was great. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the food really good... The only downside... Despite the plates being warmed, the meat unfortunately got cold very quickly.

We were here for lunch in December. Unfortunately, my steak was well-done, even though I ordered it medium. The baked potato was very dry, as if it had been reheated several times. The lunch menu actually states that bread is served with the salad. This only arrived after a discussion with the waiter, who insisted that bread wasn't part of the meal. Furthermore, the waiter had a rather peculiar sense of humor that not everyone understands (like the Dutch guests at the next table) or appreciates. What was very nice was that they swapped the peppercorn sauce for herb butter, as I don't like peppercorn sauce. My husband, on the other hand, was lucky with his steak and was satisfied.

Ordering drinks seemed difficult, the appetizer was great and everyone was satisfied. However, the main course was small, not the expected amount of food, especially considering what was ordered. And in Oberhausen, "medium" doesn't always mean "medium."

The ambiance was very tasteful… Our steaks certainly didn't weigh 300g before cooking and weren't cooked medium: one of the steaks was so thin that it couldn't have been cooked medium. The medallions with sauce, however, were excellent…

We went to the Christmas market and decided to have a nice meal instead. We sat outside and watched the hustle and bustle of the market. The restaurant is cozy and clean. We were traveling with a wheelchair and a dog stroller, which wasn't a problem at Al Carbon. The welcome was friendly, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed the food and were very satisfied.

Since we had a reservation, we were served ahead of a couple who hadn't, and the latter were told that the restaurant was unfortunately full. So, a reservation is definitely recommended! The server was very quick and attentive. The food arrived after about 15 minutes and tasted delicious. All in all, it's a great restaurant that we'd happily visit. ☺️😋

Amazing food, bad service. One of the guest at my table tried to grab the attention of a waiter after waiting for quite some time (diabetic person that needs to regulate glucose levels), he started dancing and singing (Relax, take it easy). Another waiter reached over me and threw the steak knife across the table to the person sitting next to me, this was very rude.

The food was delicious, however the service left much to be desired – unfriendly and inattentive. The drink prices were extremely high and not commensurate with the quality. See attached receipt.

We ate here yesterday when we were at the Christmas market. The meat was fine, but the fries and mayonnaise aren't included. You have to order and pay for them separately.

The food was fine. However, everything has to be ordered separately at a higher price. The service was very impersonal. We hadn't even finished our appetizer before the main course arrived, and while he was placing our plates, he was talking to another table about drinks. We felt very pressured to leave quickly and make room for the next guests. We were out again within half an hour, and by then we'd finished our appetizer and main course. We weren't even asked about dessert, nor were we asked about drinks.

When the steaks arrived, I discovered that mine was anything but medium; it was practically raw. My girlfriend's steak was even more disappointing, as the underside was completely burnt and inedible. We sent both steaks back, and after a 15-minute wait, we received them again. My steak was fine, but my girlfriend's was served incorrectly again, this time completely bloody inside. On the third attempt, she was finally able to eat it. It's a shame that such an experience, combined with the long wait and repeated disappointment, can really put you off your food. Our waiter was extremely polite and made sure the food was finally served correctly. I recently ate here and ordered chicken breast with grilled vegetables. Unfortunately, the meat was oversalted, very dry, and had a strange, slightly rubbery texture. Furthermore, it didn't look like a normal chicken breast; it was flattened, almost like a schnitzel. I had also imagined the grilled vegetables to be different—instead of grilled vegetables, they were smothered in tomato sauce, more like a ragout, and the taste was unfortunately not convincing. I complained about the dish and received a new portion, but it tasted exactly the same, which confirmed my impression that the meat had already been marinated or precooked. Tip: If you order poultry here, you should ask beforehand if it will be freshly prepared. The service was friendly and professional, and the dish was fairly removed from the bill. The lamb skewers were okay, but could have been seasoned more strongly.

The food was sensational, the waiter Zoli anticipated our every need and was incredibly quick with his service even though the place was packed. So why the bad review? Because there was a man with green glasses, who, upon inquiry, turned out to be the restaurant manager, who constantly paced back and forth around our table, snapping at his staff for no apparent reason. He berated the bartender at every opportunity and threw crumpled-up receipts at the employees. All the staff were incredibly hardworking, there was no queue (we could clearly see this from our table), and all the other guests around us were served promptly. The only one who just paced around in a completely disorganized manner and couldn't seem to get anything done. As guests, we found it very unpleasant how this jerk disrupted the wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant and were truly embarrassed by his behavior towards his staff.

We ate at Al Carbon's before an event at the Rudolf Weber Arena. We weren't the only ones with this idea, so it was extremely crowded. Nevertheless, the waiters and kitchen staff weren't overwhelmed.
