Burger was good - even if the dry aged taste didn't come across. Relatively expensive for that.

AL Carbon is a very good place to go for delicious food, and the service is always nice, helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately we were 3/4 hour late due to traffic. We were still given a very warm welcome and we still got a table. Food was super delicious! And especially the service was great! Very warm, friendly, even though the store was packed!!! We'll be back!

I booked a table online. That went smoothly. We also got a nice round table, at the edge of the restaurant. The steakhouse later became packed. So we were happy that the basic volume in our little corner wasn't that high. So you could still have a good time. The food was fantastically prepared and almost everything was perfect, except for two shrimps that refused to be peeled. But these were immediately replaced by the attentive waiter. In terms of taste, the food and drinks were very good. Unfortunately, four drinks from the neighboring table also appeared on the bill. But this problem was also solved immediately when we brought it to our attention. We will be happy to come back.

★★★★★ A culinary highlight! We had a fantastic evening at AL Carbon! The service was exceptional - attentive, warm and professional. Even the starters were a delight: the super delicious baguette with homemade garlic sauce and the marinated anchovy fillet - simply heavenly! The highlight of the evening were the main courses: the fillet steak and the beef medallions were cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and full of flavor. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail are really noticeable here. An all-round perfect experience – we will definitely be back!

The meat was good Quality, but the extra’s were served cold. The time between first course and second was too short… which explains why the gratin and the pepersaus was cold. They seemed do want us dined very fast (similar to fast food restaurant) The service was poor, no sorry for the cold served food nor for the mistake they have made with the first course (serving wrong dish to one of our party, so he had to wait) … but they did ask if we wanted to pay the exact amount of we add a tip. The audacity 🙈 the atmosphere was a bit too loud for me… but that is an issue of taste. If you like loud music during your dinner, you would like the atmosphere’s.

We were here on vacation and on my birthday. I can highly recommend the restaurant. Adorable, child-friendly and super delicious food.

We recently visited Al Carbon and would like to share our experience. The restaurant was stylishly decorated and the open kitchen created a modern, appealing atmosphere. Unfortunately, there were some aspects that marred our visit. We ordered a steak fillet (medium-rare) and a chicken burger. The menu said that the chicken burger was served with "burger sauce", just like all other burgers are served with "burger sauce"... However, it was neither asked nor indicated what sauce it was. As we ate, we realized that it was a sweet and sour sauce - a choice that didn't suit the chicken burger for us. When we asked the waitress about it, she explained that the name on the menu was intentionally left open to give the chef creative freedom. There was no apology, only an offer to throw the dish away and serve something else. However, in our opinion it would be more important to inform the guest beforehand to avoid such misunderstandings. We see a major problem here, particularly with regard to allergens, as it is not clear which ingredients are actually used. During our stay, we also noticed that the cooks in the open kitchen occasionally ate fries from the serving plate. We found this questionable from a hygiene perspective as this should not happen in a professional restaurant. Unfortunately, the taste of the food didn't impress us, and the customer service also left a lot to be desired, as our concerns weren't really addressed. Despite the beautiful decor, our visit did not meet our expectations and we would not recommend the restaurant based on these experiences. Nevertheless, we would like to see an adjustment to the menu so that there would be less confusion for guests in the future.

We were there for the first time today, although the wait was long but the food was great! My recommendation is the veal spare ribs are tender and soft. Very tasty, with 7 pieces of spare ribs, fries and BBQ sauce.

You are warmly welcomed and the service leaves nothing to be desired; Questions are answered and you get very good recommendations. The quality of the food is extremely good and the taste is absolutely convincing. A very clear recommendation to visit this location. If not it's the best restaurant on the promenade!

Super nice service and very friendly. Best citizens by far in all of Oberhausen, very high quality dry aged beef, fries also great and nice and crispy. I would recommend everyone to stop by at least once, maybe even 10 times 🤭 Thanks to the whole team 👌

The appetizer platter for 2 people was really good. The burgers are quite good, but unfortunately no special requests are taken into account. The spare ribs were tasty but too expensive for my taste. You get the table for 2 hours, you only see that when you confirm. It was packed and therefore loud.

Friendly service and nice people

We were in the restaurant on January 19, 2025. Since we were sitting in the entrance area, we were always exposed to the draft and all 8 people were freezing. It was very unpleasant. That's why only 3 stars

2. Visit to Carbon. First time in Re, today in ob. As a starter I had the aioli baguette and the herb salad with goat cheese. -The salad was great. With lots of cheese. I was able to save myself the baguette at that point. Then an English rib eye with leaf spinach and sweet potato fries. The last ones were standard. The spinach was super good, with garlic and not too mushy. The steak: wonderful. Nicely toasted, warm on the inside and still English. Top! That was fun. Praise also to the service :) Paid 140 euros for two - with tip. I think it's absolutely within reason. Thumbs up

Great atmosphere, unfortunately the seating is a bit tight for wheelchair users. Food was very good. The male waiter had time for us when he was comfortable with it. When he did come to our table, he was condescending and wasn't really interested in us.

The food is so bad! Old fish, not through boiled potatoes and a steak that I had to chew for minutes. Everything at a bargain price of almost 100 euros.

Top service. The starter and the US steaks were very tasty. Price/performance is also very good for a restaurant on the Centro Promenade. I can only recommend this restaurant.

"Better than McDonald's!", if you say something like that to your son, it MUST be VERY GOOD :) By chance, we chose Al Carbon today when we wanted to eat something in the CentrO with a group of 8 people. The welcome was warm and humorous, which immediately put us in a good mood. Ambiance: The steakhouse seems more upscale, but is cozy and inviting. Plenty of space is available indoors, but also in the well-designed, covered outdoor area and offers capacity even for larger groups! Very good! Service: wit, politeness and attentiveness in a perfect combination! Everything fits here and is really PERFECT with the highest praise! Food: Simply perfect! We had salmon, spare ribs, steak, chicken burger, cheeseburger and meat skewer from the lunch menu. Despite the reduced prices, there were very good portions, all very well prepared and simply delicious. I would like to give more stars than 5 because the entire group was extremely satisfied! Definitely our new favorite for the next visits to CentrO!!! THANKS!!!

A source of joy if you are looking for very good service and delicious food. It started at the door asking for a free table. We were greeted with a pleasant relaxed atmosphere and shown to a suitable table. The service was then handed over to the responsible employee, who immediately established a connection with our two whining children. Although he tried to make us some higher-priced offers, he reacted calmly when rejected. We feel very well looked after by the service. The food was very good and plentiful. Our evening was perfect thanks to the food and the service!

Food and service were great. There were four of us and we had great food across the menu, from steak to burgers and spare ribs to pasta.

Very tasty food. I had steak fillet with grilled vegetables and sweet potato fries. For non-meat eaters there were vegetables with potatoes, also very tasty. Very friendly and funny service, on the ball.

Unfortunately we didn't like the food. After the starter (Oktupus) was outstanding, we were looking forward to the main course. We had 2 burgers for around €22 each. Unfortunately the combinations of sauces, ham and patty didn't work. Unfortunately the patty was absolutely not tasty. The waiter and staff were very accommodating and apologized several times for the food and a little something on the house. Tip: It's better to choose a steak than a burger. That's why I would even give it a second chance here.

The taste of the food was really great. However, for the price, it was more of a portion for a small hunger. Unfortunately, it was difficult to have a conversation thanks to the volume in the restaurant.

I ate spare ribs with fries. Sparer ribs weren't enough for this price. There were also two different prices listed.

We were there with the company last week and it was just fantastic. The food is wonderful and the waiters' attention is on point. We'd love to come back.

An excellent restaurant. It was verry busy, not in a bothering way. The staff were friendly, and we didnt have to wait long to order food and drinks. The waiting time for the order to arrive was normal, not to long. The food we had (sparerib and cheeseburger) were excellent. The angus beef and the toppings were perfect. We really had a great diner, and a great evening.

Made a reservation at 8 p.m., but there was no room. Waited outside in the hustle and bustle with a drink on the house. After 45 minutes a table outside instead of inside. Waited a long time for drinks and food. Order did not get through to the kitchen properly. There was a piece of latex glove in the fries. Second drink order not delivered.

Worst place ever, we made a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes. After 30 minutes there was still no table available.

Very unfriendly staff. Not once do they come to the table to ask if you would like something to drink and if everything is to your liking. I.v.m. I wanted to order a children's menu after a stomach reduction. This really wasn't possible because I wasn't a child! After a long explanation it was possible, but it did not go well, the waiter walked away annoyed. The receipt was incorrect at checkout. There were dishes and drinks on offer that we had not had. We were supposed to pay €66, but after checking it ended up being €32

My first impression was that it was a well-attended restaurant with a great atmosphere. The menu is very good and clear, there is something for every taste, including the drinks. The staff is very friendly and attentive to their guests. But you should reserve a table. The food is very good, especially the steaks are excellent.

Regardless of the very busy season, they had quick service and friendly service under a lot of work stress. Besides that, they make quality meat and I deffinutely recommend the Ribeye and the Spareribs here! The atmosphere is really nice and fitting and feels good. It can sometimes get a little loud, but once the busy hours settle down, it's not that bad at all. Overall a very good place to eat meat!

I had reserved a table there for myself, my colleague and a business partner. The food was really delicious, all three of us had the fillet steak and fries + grilled vegetables with herb butter. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. When an order got a little mixed up and something was missing, the herb butter was on the house. The wine was also quite good, as was the espresso. In addition, the food was brought to the table quickly (even though the restaurant was busy). All in all, we were very satisfied, but the volume was a bit high so that sometimes you couldn't hear everything from the person opposite or the person sitting next to you.

Nice place in the center of oberhaus, delicious meat! Unfortunately the fries were very salty, not warm and limp.

There is a board outside with menus and the respective price, at first it sounds good and the price is fine, not unusual when you arrive on the premises. In the restaurant itself, there is no sign of this offer, only after asking and insisting on the offer on the blackboard outside, the message comes up that this steak is on offer, I ordered anyway and it was a normal steak size, with grilled ones Vegetables and pair of fries and herb butter. Okay for the price. My colleague paid twice for the almost identical steak, paid extra for mayo and extra for herb butter, and got a salad instead of grilled vegetables. Conclusion, Always insist on an offer that is advertised outside but not on the menu or not offered by the waiter. By the way, the steak was good and the grilled vegetables too.
