Akropolis in Konstanz

The food was simply delicious and everything was incredibly fresh. The service was extremely friendly and very helpful. The other guests were also very nice and accommodating. Since we were there with two children (4 years and 5 months old), they lovingly looked after our youngest so we could eat in peace. We've truly never experienced anything like it. Rating: 100/10!

We had lunch there. It was good, reasonably priced, and a sufficient portion. The service was excellent. The dining room could use a renovation. But for us, the quality of the food is what matters, not the condition of the walls.

The food is careless, canned peas—where else can you find something like that? And then there's no card payment. What century are we living in? They're obviously cutting corners here. Very loud. Find another Greek restaurant.

The food was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. On weekdays, there's an inexpensive lunch menu for those with a light appetite. The "regular" menu is varied and also very reasonably priced. The furniture and decor are a bit dated, and the dining room gets quite noisy when the restaurant is busy. Nevertheless, a definite recommendation! We'd be happy to come back!

During our short trip to Konstanz, we ate there three times out of four evenings, simply because it was delicious and the portions were as generous as you would expect from a Greek restaurant. You won't be disappointed...thumbs up!

The ambiance is pretty run down. It's time to clean and renovate. The service is very friendly. The food is okay, metaxa Sousse tastes like select Aiwa Sousse. I wouldn't go here again.

I visited the restaurant hoping for good Greek food, but was disappointed. The dish served had little to do with typical Greek cuisine. The rice was cold, as were the peas, and the bifteki, unfortunately, seemed rather tasteless. The glasses were also visibly worn and cloudy, which didn't contribute to a pleasant overall impression. It's a shame, as I expected significantly higher quality and authenticity.

We were here a few weeks ago. My only regret is that we were there the day before the holidays and couldn't try the moussaka and gyros. But we did try other specialties: I had the roasted fish platter, and my husband had delicious meatballs accompanied by peas and vegetables and a mixed salad. The desserts were all truly exceptional. It's a shame they didn't let us know when we booked the table that some dishes weren't available due to the closure. But we'll definitely be back.

I've been there many times. Excellent Greek food. Attentive service. Only yesterday, on August 12, 2025, things have gone downhill. The vegetables at the Greek restaurant in midsummer were "canned peas and carrots." I don't think that's quite right. The service was friendly and attentive, but too few staff when the crowd was busy. And another thing: where was the ouzo after the meal? It's supposed to be part of the experience. A few minor adjustments in the future, and then it'll be 100% perfect again.

We had a great lunch at a very reasonable price! The souvlaki and tzatziki were very good! We were even given free coffee, for no reason at all!

Best Gyros in whole Germany. While living in Hamburg and having Gyros from several places there I’ve never had the same great experience. Combined with the overwhelming friendliness of the staff it’s one of restaurants in Konstanz you shouldn’t miss. Highly recommended!

The service staff is consistently friendly. You receive a warm welcome right from the start, and everyone there knows what they're doing. The food arrived quickly and the quality was excellent. The gyro was perfect. There were a few very crispy pieces, but the meat was still very juicy. The baked feta was very well seasoned and cooked very well. There was nothing to complain about here either. The portions are definitely more than sufficient. Simply top-notch value for money. Despite a busy shop and a bit of chaos, everything runs as it should for the customer. At the end, the man behind the counter gave me a free ouzo. I'll definitely be back.

We ordered a grilled platter. It was very tasty, but we still wondered what the peas and carrots were doing on it. It was amusing. The taste was very good, though, as was the salad. The ambiance isn't the best, and it looks like an old German pub. But don't worry. Go ahead and eat! The service is okay. A bit gruff at one or two people, but friendly to the customers. The interior looks thrown together, even though the tables are the same.

...look forward to a *special* evening on a short vacation.... That was the plan! We'd chosen it for a long time: Greek! Excited and off we went! Finding a parking space was the first problem, but you look forward to good food and are patient! Arriving at 30 degrees outside, it felt like 40 degrees inside the restaurant^^ There was no light; the bulbs were missing from the extremely dirty lamps - but that didn't matter, as there was a Temu-e tealight on the table next to the dried flowers, just in case! Greeted nicely & given a menu... Ordered a beer/cocktail & Coke! Cold, great, everything was good! Then we received a basket of bread (dry, no dip), napkins, and cutlery, a la: Make it yourself! Menu: ... Unfortunately, 21 pages... And the first one right away? Filthy! So, basically, I felt (not!) valued as a guest! It felt like: "Order it or leave it!" I was happy – and drove – and of course, ordered! I love gyros with Metaxa sauce... but only when the sauce is good and the cheese doesn't look like *PEEP".... There were definitely some good things! The salad had a great dressing! The fries were crispy, and the cocktail, along with the 15 ice cubes, had enough ouzo in it to make it bearable! Vegetables on the plate? - Canned peas! Rice? Oh... whatever ^^ Meat itself? Well... we probably used three times as much toilet paper as usual because my husband immediately had a *breakdown*! Since I - like many others, looked at the reviews and decided on them - I wonder how they came about - or - to be fair - maybe it was just TOO hot that day! ....... All of them, probably! But it was a truly depressing evening from which we had high hopes!

Don't let the exterior appearance deter you from eating at this restaurant. The interior took me back to my younger years. The decor is rustic. But the food and service are absolutely fantastic. Very good food and very friendly staff. Top notch.

We eat well, but we have to wait

I celebrated my birthday there with my family. We were in the back room. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the waiter/chef was courteous, friendly, and quick. Everyone enjoyed the food. There was perhaps a little too little tzatziki on my plate, but that's nitpicking.

The ambiance and food were terrible. Service was boring. But the cocktails were really good!

We were craving Greek food again and stopped by Akropolis. We were immediately greeted and seated warmly. We ordered typical dishes and were not disappointed. The meat was delicious, as were the side dishes. We will definitely be back.

Authentic Greek food and warm hospitality I have been to the Akropolis restaurant in Konstanz several times and have been absolutely thrilled every time. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting – you immediately feel welcome. The staff is extremely friendly, attentive and ensures that you feel completely comfortable. The menu offers a great selection of traditional Greek dishes. I particularly recommend the gyros, which are always fresh and perfectly seasoned. The platters are also a treat – ideal for sharing. The portions are generous and the price-performance ratio is absolutely right.

Waren zu 3 im Akroplis zum Abendessen. Karte kam sehr schnell und auch das erste Getränk. Die Servicequalität und Kleidung der Angestellten ist recht unterschiedlich und nimmt proportional zum Alter deren ab. Hatten einen gemischten Vorspeisenteller, dieser war ganz ok. Allerdings wäre es schön gewesen wenn man einen größeren Teller benutzt hätte anstatt alles auf einen kleinen Teller zu quetschen. Als Hauptgang den Grillteller ohne Schwein. Fleisch und Beilagen waren sehr gut. Aber: Leider ist das Essen nach 3-4 Minuten schon kalt was bei Lammfleisch meiner Meinung nach schwierig ist, da es nur heiß schmeckt. Hier wäre ein heißer Stein o.ä. sehr vorteilhaft gewesen. Preislich würde ich sagen passte es!

Was there for the first time and will visit again when I'm nearby. Food was great, service was also great, especially I ordered something wrong, it was canceled straight away and I was still allowed to eat it, espresso on the house. And ambience as it should be with Greeks.

I found the food very tasty. I had the dolma as a starter and an ouzo plate as my main course, both of which were very tasty. The atmosphere was very nice, but the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. The service was very good and the boss laughed a lot with the employees. This made me realize that the working atmosphere must be very good.

4 people arrived early without a reservation, all their tables were reserved, but they gave us a place at a table that was reserved for 2 hours later, which we were very grateful for. The service was very fast and we were able to dine in peace. Delicious food. Abundant portions, warm and familiar atmosphere. I will return with pleasure.

We really like Greek food. I've been to Greece a few times, but not in tourist castles but in the hinterland with authentic cuisine in cozy taverns. And even if everything doesn't always work in Greek taverns, that had nothing to do with what we experienced in the Acropolis in Konstanz. Where do we start... with the toilets. Broken toilet seats, broken door locks, torn cable ducts, cobwebs. You can tell by looking at the toilets of a company... we all know that sentence and we should have left by then. Ambiance in the restaurant: We didn't feel it. We felt more like we were in a train station. We found everything completely rocky and dingy. We ordered tzatziki as a starter and waited 30 minutes for that alone. It then came with a leaf salad, some carrot salad on top and grated cheese on top. We also didn't find the herb yoghurt dressing to be typically Greek. The children got their food with our starter and finished it way before us - and then had to wait for us (anyone who has children knows: they find this extremely unpleasant). The food for us parents came after 50 minutes and was not what we understood from the other reviews. A lamb chop deserves a reasonable degree of doneness, but this is only possible if it is of a certain thickness. So the part was maybe 1 cm thick and through. The minced steak had extreme roasted aromas. The gyros tasted good, but smelled like fish to me. Suvlaki and fries, on the other hand, were really good. If we think it's good, we're happy to spend a little more money on it. Unfortunately we didn't have that feeling in the Acropolis.

Consistency is a bit expensive. No ouzo on the house like I know from the Greeks. Greek atmosphere is missing.

For me so far the best Greek in the greater Konstanz area. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted great.

In my opinion, there only seem to be two types of restaurants in Konstanz: the fancy restaurants where the Swiss eat. And the restaurants that are more frequented by ordinary people and students. This Greek is fantastic and is definitely frequented by the latter. The appetizer platter is generous and freshly made. The lamb afterwards was very tasty. I would love to come back and can only recommend it 100%, a reservation is urgently needed!

Sehr positive Erfahrung: Das Lokal war voll bis auf den letzten Platz, doch die Atmosphäre war total entspannt. Wir wurden äußerst freundlich bedient, das Essen war sehr lecker, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte, was in Konstanz leider eher die Ausnahme geworden ist. Ein authentisches Erlebnis und eine klare Empfehlung!
