Ajino Sushibar in Mannheim

After reading all the reviews, I feel I can finally speak up. I was a regular customer at this restaurant for years because I liked the concept and the sushi was very tasty. However, in recent years the quality of the sushi has declined so drastically that it's not worth €20. The last time I was there with my family, the raw sushi tasted extremely fishy. There was only vegetable sushi on the conveyor belt, and fried or fish sushi was rare. We had to wait a long time. I'm a big sushi lover. I eat quite a lot of it and really enjoy it. When I go out for sushi, I'm the happiest person. However, on my last visit, I was treated very badly. I was holding my 7-month-old niece when the server came and aggressively took my medication from the table, so much so that even my niece reacted to her behavior and watched her. We were all shocked. The previous customer reviews indicated that it was the same woman. She is extremely unfriendly and disrespectful. They should be grateful that any customers even enter their shop, and they treat them extremely rudely. There isn't even a smile for hello or goodbye. They don't even acknowledge the customers' gaze anymore. As a long-time customer, they've definitely lost me. Since then, I go to Huang or Fuji. At least the sushi tastes good there, and I wouldn't recommend Ajino to anyone anymore. I've already warned several people against it.

After reading several reviews from people here, it turns out that many are complaining about the service. And I experienced the same thing, there was a waitress who served us VERY POORLY!! She didn’t smile at all!! She handed over the drinks as if she was slamming the glasses! I even decided not to order miso soup anymore because I didn’t want to talk to her!! It really feels like this place will get bad ratings if they keep that waitress!! Well, aside from that, the all-you-can-eat sushi there is not worth it. What they serve is only cheap sushi!! The salmon they use is very fresh!! I like it!! But salmon sushi comes out very rarely! Most of the sushi is just rice and vegetables!! So it’s better to order à la carte. But I will never go back there as long as the service is that bad.

I'm so glad I didn't let the negative reviews I saw here sway me, because otherwise I would have missed out on eating such delicious sushi at Ajino Sushi Bar. I ordered the "all you can eat" version, and the sushi comes around on a rotating conveyor belt. Although I initially thought this would be a problem, it turned out to be very interesting, as it allowed me to try dishes I would never have ordered if I had to make a request. They make a sushi with banana (!!!) that is wonderful, seriously! Among many other things. I was pleasantly surprised, as everything is very fresh and flavorful. Of course, it's not a restaurant with those gourmet sushi places full of things where you can't even taste the fish. The dishes are fresh, simple, and delicious. In short, if you want to eat something tasty and simple, go there! And I hope you also venture into diverse flavors like I did!

Wow, I've usually only ever seen expensive sushi bars with cucumber maki, but this one really impressed me – tempura, nigiri, everything a sushi lover could want – at a fantastic price with an all-you-can-eat menu. And they also serve delicious desserts in the form of sesame balls. What can I say? Very tasty, affordable, pleasant atmosphere. Top sushi bar.

I've been eating there at least once a month for several years. For me personally, Ajino is truly exceptional. The prices are very fair. All the staff are friendly and accommodating. The quality is top-notch. No frills like dry ice and other unnecessary things. Simply an experience where the restaurant's product, namely the sushi, is the focus. I truly recommend it to all my friends or take them there. To the Ajino team: Please keep up the good work!

Unfortunately, despite the place being simple and the sushi quite decent, the service is absolutely terrible. I haven’t experienced such poor customer treatment in a long time. I’ve been there twice. The first time, I tried to overlook the waitress’s rude behavior. Toward the end, another waitress took over — she was very friendly, and that changed my overall impression a bit. However, during my second visit, the experience was just unacceptable. I couldn’t tolerate the attitude and simply left. I believe that in the service industry, people should genuinely enjoy what they do and, above all, know how to work with customers. Being treated with such negativity — while you’re paying for it — is just unacceptable. I doubt I’ll ever return, and I certainly won’t recommend this place to anyone I know.

For three people we were given 1 chopstick, I asked for more, they added another one, in general, my daughters and I ate in turns. The waitress only communicates with those she wants. I've given this sushi restaurant several chances because the sushi is of good quality and the value for money is good. Unfortunately, the enjoyment is always marred by the extremely unfriendly and disrespectful staff. Despite regular visits, I have repeatedly been treated condescendingly. Today's incident, however, was the final straw: One of my companion's plates accidentally fell off the table. We naturally picked it up and brought it to the counter so as not to inconvenience anyone – a sign of consideration and responsibility. Instead, we were loudly shouted at in front of other guests, with the insinuation that we were trying to "save" a plate. This behavior was shameful, disrespectful, and simply inappropriate. It wasn't the first time I've been treated with an unpleasant tone there – but it will definitely be the last. Another absolutely unacceptable incident: Although the server repeatedly assured us that the spring rolls and dumplings were vegetarian, both contained meat. This is completely unacceptable – especially if someone is vegetarian out of conviction or for health reasons. A gross breach of trust and extremely disrespectful. I will not visit this store again and cannot recommend it to anyone due to the repeated poor treatment of paying customers. Good quality does not justify bad behavior.

not recommended, we thought it was all you can eat sitting at a table, instead we got the wrong table and paid 60€, the lady warned us at the last minute ps the place was full of flies.

The sushi was delicious; all-you-can-eat for €21 is totally fair. We made a reservation and ended up sitting right by the counter :) But it didn't make much of a difference; at 4:30 PM when we arrived, it wasn't very busy. So there was plenty of everything: cold sushi, fried sushi, gyoza, spring rolls, as well as a few desserts, which were also specially prepared when we moved on to dessert. For me, it was a great experience all around; we'll definitely be back.

I was there on April 23, 2025 with a companion to enjoy the all-you-can-eat menu. The service was unfriendly from the start. Before we had even sat down, we were told three times that the all-you-can-eat menu costs €20.90 in a tone that was very rude, The behavior of the waitress was also unpleasant during the meal. She took away the empty plates right in front of us without saying anything - very rude In addition, the quality and organization of the all-you-can-eat offering was disappointing: the warm sushi variations were only offered in very small quantities - so little that there was hardly enough for anyone. Instead, the same types of cold sushi were constantly circulating on the conveyor belt, with no variety. Also, the amount of ginger and wasabi served was way too small. Once they ran out, no one cared. The waitress didn't pay attention to whether something was missing and nothing was offered - we had to actively ask to get supplies. That also contributed to a bad impression. Overall the experience was disappointing and unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I went to Ajino Mannheim today expecting to enjoy the sushi bar's all-you-can-eat offering (€20.90). Unfortunately, the entire experience was disappointing. The service person emphasized the price several times, which felt uncomfortable. Overall, the staff seemed unfriendly and the service left a lot to be desired. The sushi conveyor belt was almost exclusively filled with avocado sushi, which apparently hardly anyone wanted - it spun in circles for over an hour. Hot sushi was only served in tiny quantities (two pieces), even though there were about ten guests waiting for it. The few fresh sushi were immediately gone, the rest consisted of old, unappetizing-looking rolls. It's a shame, I was looking forward to a nice sushi evening, but that was definitely my last visit there.

Favorite place, we sometimes come here with our family, for the price it’s just great, the food is delicious. The service is very lame, one of the waitresses is not friendly or welcoming at all. I've been going there for half a year and every time it spoils my mood when she serves me. This time she completely ignored my request and in the end, even after finishing her business, she did not come to find out what drink I wanted to order. Please do something about this!

More selection of sushi would be great, but the employees are also totally toxic. Always sigh when you leave something left over from a plate, etc. Otherwise, the price is pretty good. The ambiance was unappealing, the service was okay. Unfortunately, the sushi wasn't impressive, and the edamame were by far the worst I've ever seen. Frozen edamame, which I microwave at home, are far better. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to mess up edamame so badly that they turned out so mushy.

So, the price/performance ratio is top-notch. I paid €14 for the all-you-can-eat option. However, the selection is very limited.

Small sushi shop. We were greeted very nicely and given a place on the assembly line. For 20€ All Hab you Eat, or the lunch offer, I think it's cheap. Sushi was also really tasty and since I love sushi, I come here more often now. Highly recommended, but I think you should make a reservation for the lunch buffet.

Aijno is one of the few Japanese people who owns a sushi bowl. The selection is large. Raw fish, vegetarian sushi and warm dumplings and shrimp in batter. Nothing was missing. There were even several sweet things. All 3 of us were very satisfied. The ambience, on the other hand, is unfortunately rather dreary.

Unfortunately it is not possible to put less than 1 star… basically you get just rice, would not go again never ever. Beside the rice problem, there are not vide options for the all you can eat, not even sashimi!! Skip absolutely this place.

Were here today with a reservation, as were most of the guests. We noticed how spontaneous guests had to leave without a reservation. The running sushi belt was continually replenished. The selection was sufficient for us and, in our opinion, appropriate for the price. The dishes were all freshly prepared and tasty. The drink selection and prices were also reasonable. The service was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and always came by to clear away the plates and hygiene covers. We felt comfortable and had an appetizing dinner. We'd love to come back.

A women Waiter really unfriendly, first we come and my friend smile to her she doesn’t smile back, And to me that’s rude because she throws way the chopsticks to us! Why you can’t put that’s really slowly.. we just sit and she ask us directly what we want trink. Why don’t let us think first and come back. If she tired or have problem that’s still not the point to served us like that. I really don’t like her attitude! My friends don’t eat the rice , she just eat the top of that , and then she come to us and says „What is that? If you waste that you need to pay 5.90€“ I know that’s wrong what my friend do , but why she need to talk like rude ?! She can talk with friendly and we can understand. That’s my first and last i come to this Ajino Sushi Bar. Not really recommended.

The sushi had a really solid selection for the lunch buffet and 15 plates usually fill you up well. The service isn't that friendly, but if you're in the mood for sushi from the conveyor belt, it's worth it.

The waitress came at 4:00 p.m. to inform us that the lunch buffet time was over, even though it was supposed to last until 4:30 p.m. In addition, we were charged one more drink at the checkout than we actually ordered. In the future we will prefer to go somewhere else and spend a few euros more. The food is okay, the quality varies and the selection is unfortunately a bit meager. You can tell from the band that it is getting old, perhaps a few components could be replaced.

The food really wasn't bad. Relatively many variations of different sushi. Unfortunately, only very few side dishes such as spring rolls or similar were distributed, as well as very few desserts such as pudding, which unfortunately meant that the experience was almost exclusively limited to sushi... The service was below average, a very very very long wait for the specially ordered one Sauce, in general they hardly looked at which plates went well and which went badly and therefore put far too much on the belt, which was almost not eaten at all... But if you go there purely for the sushi, you will be happy there, if you have something If you expect more, you will unfortunately be a little disappointed be.

This was my second time at the Ajino Sushibar, the first time it was really great and actually deserved 5 stars in all respects for the price-performance ratio (lunchtime running all you can eat for €13.90). The selection is varied and it tastes good. However, the small portion of wasabi you get at the beginning is never enough for me. On our first visit, the service staff was very friendly and accommodating (even brought us three extra portions of chocolate pudding when we asked) and we felt very comfortable there. However, on the second visit a lady was waiting for us who was totally unfriendly and almost annoyed with us. Basically acceptable sushi for little money, the 15 plates definitely fill you up and taste good.

Under new management? Not the old Ajino I knew from before. Food okay, a bit bland, probably skimped on the vinegar for the rice, service snippy and uninterested. It's enough to fill you up quickly at lunchtime. The sushi kebab, so to speak.

We took an all-you-can-eat option, and it was our first time trying out that concept. It was interesting, but not really our cup of tea. Maybe it would have been better in general if the place looked fancier, and without really cheap looking plastic covers over the plates. The food was in the best case average. It was definitely fresh, but the sushi bits contained a bit too much rice - and that was the dominant flavour. So, you get full fast, but don't really eat much fish. There were about 10 different sushi choices, we liked about 4, the rest we found too plain and boring and way too similar in flavour (sweetish rice). They also had sweets - not to our liking, but I never had great expectations regarding those.

The delivery man was very unfriendly and made me walk to another street because he supposedly couldn't drive in by car. In the end he wasn't even there with a car

Service is a disaster. Listlessly unfriendly. The sushi has become mass-produced and sometimes there are only four different ones. Some of the salmon was still frozen. People are more concerned with handling than with ambience. Price performance is also no longer visible. What really annoyed me was that we arrived at half past three and had to leave at four o'clock because that's when the evening prices apply. But the sushi remained the same.
