Super friendly and fast service. Large portions and the kale is first-class.

We had lunch at the Airfield Restaurant today. A large and well-stocked menu with seasonal dishes. The service was very attentive, prompt, and courteous.

We were there for several days for rescue dog work, so everyone had their dog with them. For us dog owners, it was simply the perfect hotel! Great location for walks or bike rides. The second bed was covered with a blanket...just in case the dog jumped on it. Access is possible from outside, so the dog doesn't need to go through the hotel itself. There's a table and chair in front of the door to the outside for each room, great for sitting outside in good weather. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want. Dinner was also very good. The facilities were very pleasant. For dog owners, it couldn't be better, and we would come back even without our four-legged friends.

We sat and ate comfortably on a Sunday. There was also a lot to see on the airfield.

The tea served had probably been sitting in the kitchen with tea bags for at least 15 minutes. It was undrinkable and lukewarm.

We've been going to this restaurant for 30 years, and in recent years, we think the food has declined somewhat in quality. The breakfast buffet isn't as extensive anymore, and the asparagus buffet has thinned out... as I said, that's our opinion, which should also serve as constructive criticism... The staff is top-notch.

Great, great atmosphere, friendly staff, prices okay too

Incredibly unfriendly and rude reception. My grandmother was greeted with "there's the lady who doesn't respond to emails," even though she had reserved a table by phone the day before. A lack of communication seems to be evident among the service staff. Nevertheless, the table was set reluctantly, comparable to a petulant little child. After I pointed out that I didn't like the lady's tone, I only got a rude response. Breakfast was canceled, and we left. Anyone can have bad days; the restaurant industry isn't an easy job, but this kind of behavior is completely inappropriate.

The food is very good. The prices are commensurate with the good quality. We found the owner, Gabriele Kleine, to be rather unfriendly and abrupt.

We were in these parts for work, the hotel is super, I liked it very much. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is great. There is a terrace near the room where you can relax watching a family of hares. We recommend visiting this hotel 👍👍👍

Today for my birthday brunch, it was delicious and the service was very attentive.

The rooms are truly large and extremely modern in design. The generous floor space creates a pleasant, open feeling. The furniture has a contemporary, minimalist design that is also functional. Plenty of storage space and clever solutions help keep your stay organized. The colors and lighting are bright and inviting without being too garish. The curtains block out the light well for a restful sleep. The bathroom is very modern, with high-quality fixtures, a large mirror, and sufficient lighting. Cleanliness is a top priority here: everything shines, no buildup or missing details. Cleanliness throughout the hotel: The rooms have been thoroughly cleaned, smell fresh, and public areas also appear regularly maintained and tidy. The hotel is often described as having an "American motel" feel – practical, uncomplicated, with a clear focus on comfort and functionality. The infrastructure fulfills this requirement well without appearing neglected. Service philosophy: The staff is consistently friendly, helpful, and courteous. Concerns are dealt with promptly without feeling like a nuisance. The check-in/check-out process is smooth and efficient, which is especially pleasant for early arrivals or late departures. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet is described as outstanding: varied, plentiful, and high-quality. A good selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit, baked goods, and beverages ensures there's something for every taste. The service during breakfast appears professional: tables are cleared regularly, cutlery and dishes are always available, and additional requests are handled with graciousness. We would be happy to return.

Unassuming from the outside, the food and hospitality are outstanding from the inside. We stayed for one night. The room is stylishly and functionally furnished. Very spacious, comfortable beds with cozy pillows. The rooms can be accessed from the hallway or from the terrace. Very reminiscent of American motels. The bathroom is equipped with a spacious shower, and overall, there's plenty of room to move around. The service staff is very attentive and friendly. I didn't notice any typical North German temperament. The Sunday breakfast buffet was fantastic. A myriad of choices of sausages and cheeses. Fresh ground pork. Asparagus and ham rolls. Salmon and trout fillet. Egg dishes. Shrimp salad. Great. The view of the apron and the airport runway is fascinating. There was a lot of flight activity this Sunday. A delight for aviation enthusiasts. :) We'd love to come back.

We celebrated a silver wedding anniversary there with friends and hadn't heard of it before. The buffet was delicious, with roast meats, various side dishes, cheese platters, and fish. Everything was amazing, and the service was top-notch. Where else can you have a cozy beer and party right next to the runway?

Four of us ate at the Airfield Restaurant in Ganderkesee and had a truly wonderful time! The food was delicious and freshly prepared – we felt completely at home. The service was attentive, friendly, and courteous, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Our outdoor seat with a view of the planes and the runway was particularly lovely – a unique experience that made the visit even more special. We will definitely be back and can recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for good food in a unique atmosphere!

Following last year's positive experience, we hosted this year's general meeting of Bauverein Delmenhorst eG on June 30, 2025, in the hall of the Airfield, with 120 participants. The preparations and arrangements for our second event at the Airfield were handled by phone and email – very quickly. The event was once again perfectly prepared, the hall decorated according to our wishes, and the food at the end of the event left nothing to be desired, from the appetizers to the dessert. The service in the hall and at the tables was equally excellent. Overall, the event was once again a complete success. Many thanks to the owners and staff. See you next year!

I've rarely eaten such a bad meal. Just hollandaise sauce. The food was flooded with it. You expect something different from a vegetable stir-fry. And if you say something, you're treated rudely. No, sorry! And it was very, very stuffy!

We were there for asparagus brunch. Unfortunately, we didn't like the asparagus at all. It was woody, too watery, and the salmon was overcooked twice. Sorry, but for that price, we say... no thanks. Great location. Excellent service. The view is outstanding.

The Airfield Restaurant offers truly excellent and hearty home-style cuisine. Ideal for events for up to 200 people or for a dinner for two with an aviation ambiance. Very friendly staff and a spectacular backdrop with daily flight operations "at your fingertips." With direct views of the runway, both indoors and from the summer terrace. The hotel offers direct overnight accommodation year-round. Free parking is available directly on site. Most of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.

I can't say anything about the rooms. But the food is great...they can also arrange a breakfast buffet. I've been there a few times now...there's also a playground for the little ones.

Was invited to dinner, it was delicious and the view of the planes taking off was very nice. I can't provide any information about the rooms.

We were at the shipyard in Ganderkesee by plane and wanted to sit with a friend in the restaurant for a drink and a piece of cake while we waited. Unfortunately we were treated very annoyed by the waitress. And not in a friendly way, as we know from some regions. We really were made to feel unwelcome. As an aviator in an airport bar, this is a real shame. Well, maybe you have to be happy if you find a restaurant at all. But still, with moderate activity you can still expect a little friendliness.

Great “venerable” restaurant in an unusual location. But it has its own charm. Especially when there is real “busy activity” ;/)

Great, beautiful new rooms. Very nice service. Guests are also welcome with dogs. Huge selection at the breakfast buffet. We recommend it. Update 2025: The rooms were neat and clean, nice staff. The prices have already risen well. The breakfast is blessed with plenty of choice, what is actually missing is something sweet at the end, e.g. piece of cake, pancake, .... or something like that.

I was there for a birthday party without staying overnight, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The atmosphere in the hall was very nice and surprisingly cozy for its size. The food was very tasty and filling. The service was very nice, considerate and very warm. I can only recommend it.

The rooms and bathrooms are large, modern and appear newly renovated. I liked that there were hard floors in the room instead of carpet. There is a large window front, everything is spacious and clean. The direct train from the parking lot to the room is practical. There is a desk and enough power sockets. The breakfast is also very tasty and the service is attentive and friendly. The hotel is located a little outside the town, so it is very quiet apart from the occasional flight.

Christmas party. Super tasty warm cold buffet. Service friendly and quick. Everything very clean. Highly recommended for families or company parties. All in all a lovely evening. Thanks.

We only ordered a salad, the menu is so full of greasy and heavy food that we felt sick just reading it. You have to be in the mood for very hearty cuisine, then this is certainly a good address.

A perfect evening at the Airfield Hotel and Restaurant! We had the pleasure of spending an evening in the renovated hall of the Airfield Hotel in Ganderkesee and it was simply great! The buffet was an absolute highlight - a huge selection of dishes that left nothing to be desired. No matter whether it was starters, main courses or desserts – everything was prepared with a lot of love and incredibly tasty. A special thank you goes to the service team, who made the evening an unforgettable experience. Everyone was friendly, attentive and always available without being intrusive. You could tell that people put their heart and soul into the work here! We will definitely come back and can only recommend this hotel and restaurant.

Aufgrund eines geplanten runden Geburtstags im größeren Kreis testeten wir das Essen im Airfield Ganderkesee. Ich bestellte das in der Speisekarte aufgeführte Menu "2 Schollenfilets mit glacierten frischen Möhrchen und kleinen Salzkartoffeln". Als serviert wurde, zeigten sich die "glacierten frischen Möhrchen" allerdings als ausgewachsene dicke Wurzelstücke, die den halben Teller ausfüllten. Dieses Essen zeigte sich als totaler Flop, auch für das Auge wurde nichts geboten. Das gelieferte Wurzelgemüse entsprach keineswegs der Speisekarte, und geschmeckt hat es mir auch nicht. Ob der Koch im Urlaub war, oder ob nur Amature das Menu zubereitet haben, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Um es kurz zu sagen, das Essen entsprach in keinster Weise dem masslos überzogenen Betrag von € 26,90. Von der Geschäftsleitung kam nichts als eine flaue Entschuldigung Dieses Restaurant werden wir nicht wieder betreten.

Celebrated a big birthday on Friday July 12th with family and friends. Great table decoration, my taste. Super friendly and attentive staff. Italian buffet very tasty. My guests also thought everything was great. We had a wonderful evening. The rooms were modern and very clean. The breakfast buffet was very rich. We felt very comfortable all around and the next celebration was only in the airfield. We recommend. Just great.

Went to dinner at the airfield. The service was attentive and quick, and a greeting came promptly from the kitchen. The food looked great and tasted just as good. Ideal for a side trip by plane!

We celebrated our daughter's wedding there on June 22, 2024. Top room, very clean, with decent beds. The service in the evening was very attentive and extremely friendly, the buffet was rich and varied. The breakfast the next morning was also very plentiful and the coffee tasted excellent. Highly recommended, thank you!

Quiet location despite the airport

Excellent hospitality, quick and attentive. Very tasty food. Special requests from guests are also taken into account. There is no “it doesn’t work” here. We felt comfortable here and can highly recommend this place.

• Service employees are rather old-school, which isn't a bad thing, everyone is very friendly except for one employee who is really wrong at his job, extremely unfriendly and lacking in humor • try their best, but it comes across as rather alien and that is completely incomprehensible to the audience (clientele) that just flew past. You can get a lot more out of it if you had repeated knowledge of people or worked in a customer-oriented manner, training is absolutely necessary in this case • Sometimes you are greeted in a friendly manner, sometimes not, this is probably due to a lack of human knowledge, which is what you should have in order to be successful in the catering industry • We can't judge the food, if you look at the menu, we would say 80's-90's deluxe with ridiculous prices • All in all, you can do it, but you don't necessarily have to commit to it • If we wanted a better mix of young and old, then we would be there again • more Insta and fewer funerals

Always something going on...Beautiful terrace and delicious food

On Sunday we were at the airfield with the family for the Mother's Day buffet. The location is very nice and the staff is very friendly. 😊 I can't judge the rooms. There was a generally very large, good selection of food for meat eaters, but for someone on a vegan diet it was difficult to tell which of the food and dessert was vegan and which was not due to the lack of labels. Example: Were the vegetables served with butter or not? Was there anything vegan for dessert or not? Which of the sauces are vegan? In some places there were already small signs in front of the courts. For example, could you add a little note there? Of course, you could also ask the staff about it, but since such events are already very stressful, such signs would be ideal so as not to put additional strain on the staff. We asked in advance about the vegan selection and were told that there was a good selection. Since there were a lot of different types of meat and fish, we were a little disappointed that no vegan alternatives were offered, even though fried tofu, for example, was already on the menu. When we were there for breakfast last year, an extra cold cuts platter with a lot of choice was kindly brought to the table for the vegetarians/vegans. 😄 We would be happy if the vegan/vegetarian selection at the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffets looked a little better/was labeled a little better in the future or if it were included directly with the meat buffet if necessary.

Geplant war, auf der Außenterrasse einen Kaffee zu trinken. Geregelt war, dass an diesem Tag nur reservierte Plätze vergeben wurden und folglich auch alle Tische im Außenbereich mit einem Reserviertschild gekennzeichnet waren. Dabei war allerdings auffällig, dass an diesem Nachmittag rund 80% der reservierten Tische unbesetzt waren. Daraufhin haben wir den Kellner angesprochen, dass wir nur einen Kaffee trinken möchten und nach maximal 30 Minuten wieder verschwunden seien, so dass es zu keiner Kollision mit einem der "vermeintlich reservierten" Tisch kommen sollte. Nach Rücksprache mit seiner Führungskraft erwiderte der Kellner, dass kein ausreichendes Personal vorhanden sei. Ich habe ihm angeboten, den Kaffee selber auf die Terrasse zu bringen. Auch das wurde mit dem relativ unprofessionellen Hinweis, "ob ich denn auch wisse, wo die Kaffeemaschine stünde" abgelehnt. Fazit: Servicequalität und Gastfreundschaft unterirdisch.

This is about the restaurant, which unfortunately I can't recommend for eating. Only convenience products from the bucket or frozen. Hardly anything is vegetarian and what is available is underground. The prices are steep for that. Example: Boiled potatoes from the pack, frozen vegetables ((beans, carrots, Brussels sprouts, peas) with hollandaise from the bucket and tough cheese gratinated for over 20€. All dishes are more from the 80s and not even good, but expensive. Conclusion: Better go somewhere else. The two stars are because it went quickly.

The restaurant's interior is a bit old, but the food is down-to-earth and the service staff are very friendly. There is also the prospect of small aircraft taking off. Another positive thing to mention is that there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. I can't judge the rooms in the hotel.

Waren hier mit der Familie essen und bin mit meinem vegatarischen "gemüsepfännchen" gut satt geworden, die Auswahl der Gemüse war top! Auch die Gerichte der anderen sah gut aus! 1 Stern Abzug ~ Bei dem "appetitanreger Häppchen" wurde jedem ein Brot mit schmalz vorgesetzt, man hätte vielleicht jemandem der schon vegetarisch bestellt eine vegetarische Alternative servieren können (klar kann man das nicht zwingend wissen nur weil jemand vegetarisch bestellt (davon ab gab's "grob gesehen" nur 3 Auswahl Möglichkeiten fuer Vegetarier was fuer heutige Verhältnisse ein bißchen mager ist aber auch nicht so tragisch das man verhungern würde ^^) aber waere schoen gewesen wenn man vielleicht drauf achten/ oder notfalls nachfragen könnte) ist nämlich schade wenn sowas dann zurueck gehen muss und dadurch wahrscheinlich weggeworfen wird. Ansonsten das personal war sehr freundlich, die Gerichte sahen super aus und haben echt gut geschmeckt und auch die Ambiente ist auch ganz gemütlich. Wuerde hier wieder essen! ☺️

Sehr sauber und schöne Zimmer. Die Parkplätze sind direkt vor den Zimmern vorhanden, da das Hotel in einem US Motel-Stil gebaut ist. Essen schmeckt super und Portionen sind groß. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat eine grosse Auswahl.
