Aiko Sushi & Grill in Chemnitz

Food excellent, price excellent, drinks OK (alcoholic), ambiance excellent

Very popular and delicious. However, it always feels hectic, especially if you sit near the entrance. Service is very fast.

The food has always been good to very good. The sushi is especially recommended. However, parts of the order were missing every time. I've been there three times now, and it's been the same problem each time. And all the sushi is served on one plate, meaning you have to figure out who owns what. This is a bit difficult with more than two people.

We recently went to Aiko's for the all-you-can-eat buffet. The sushi is delicious, but the staff wasn't particularly friendly that day. We had a reservation, arrived, and waited at the entrance to be shown to our reserved table. Several employees saw us, and there wasn't even a line at the entrance; it was relatively quiet for lunchtime. No one seemed to care that we were standing and waiting at the entrance, despite making eye contact several times, until I finally waved to a server and asked if we could just sit down since we had a reservation. Then someone finally came and showed us to a table. When we ordered drinks, we encountered another surprise that I couldn't understand. The menu listed a non-alcoholic Caipirinha with ginger ale. The exact same drink is also available under a different name, but with passion fruit juice and soda; otherwise, it's the same recipe. We ordered the sushi with just ginger ale, but received the one with added passion fruit and soda. When we complained, an argument ensued regarding the menu. We were told that one was exactly the same as the other, just with passion fruit, and they couldn't or wouldn't understand that we both wanted drink number two, which only had ginger ale, cane sugar, and lime juice, and not the other one with passion fruit and soda. Both were listed on the menu. After the discussion, they finally swapped them and prepared them as described on the menu, which is what we wanted. I still don't understand why you don't get what's on the menu when you order it that way. The staff's general demeanor was very unmotivated, and the friendliness one usually expects from Asian restaurants was completely absent that day. I wouldn't necessarily go back; there are plenty of other restaurants that have excellent sushi, actually deliver what you order from the menu, and are also warm and welcoming.

Simply fantastic, we'll be back! However, there is some criticism: the parking situation shortly before opening is poor, or rather impossible, despite having our own parking space.

We've been out to eat several times now. It's great to be able to order with a tablet, but when half of our order is missing the second time, it's not right. We even told several servers, but no one took care of it. It's a real shame...especially when you're paying €30 per person.

Very, very tasty, fast and (friendly) service. Update: Visited Aiko again. The food was great as always, but I have to leave out the "friendly" part of the service for now. The two of them seemed stressed, bored, and annoyed. Maybe they were having a bad day. I'll see next time.

Reservations were required on Sunday, and everything was well organized. We had all-you-can-eat for €29.90 per person. The quality of the dishes was impeccable. We had sushi, sashimi, rice, grilled salmon, chicken, mushrooms, beef, beef skewers, pork belly, shrimp, and lamb; everything was truly delicious. Dessert included mango ice cream, sesame balls, crème brulee, and pana cotta. The pana cota was very good. The honeydew lemonade was also delicious. The only drawback was that there was apparently an IT problem (everything is ordered via the Samsung tablet), and everything that was grilled arrived very slowly, meaning we sometimes waited over 45 minutes for the grilled food. This is an isolated issue – it can happen, but if it were normal – it's unacceptable, as you lose track and it simply takes too long. The waiter apologized – which is fine for me.

The owner is a racist. He treats immigrant employees poorly. Bad taste, rude behavior from the owner. Don't go to this place.

A brilliant concept: a successful blend of an AYCE buffet and a regular restaurant. For the price, the sushi quality is unbeatable. Two criticisms: The noise level is quite high when the restaurant is at full capacity, and the service staff often seems a bit unemotional when serving individual dishes, despite being generally friendly. All in all, a real hit. The restaurant is highly recommended and also offers an excellent lunch menu.

Sushi is absolutely delicious, quieter during the week and sometimes crowded on weekends. Card payments are accepted, but you'll have to search a bit for parking ;-)

There were two of us and we ordered the all-you-can-eat menu for €29.90 each. Drinks weren't included and were also very expensive. However, everything else was delicious, and you have plenty of time to eat the food (2.5 hours). Overall, highly recommended, as they don't just serve fish dishes.

The panna cotta was delicious 🍧 ♥️ I've never tried sugar-free cappuccino anywhere before, but it's sooo delicious! The sushi comes with some interesting sauce besides soy sauce, delicious! The sushi itself, by the way, was pretty good; I enjoyed the whole set 🍱, even though I'm not a sushi fan. Nice atmosphere 💞 Thank you, I'm very happy 🫶🫶🫶

"Actually" great, BUT if you order five things and they arrive one at a time, you end up with your meat before the vegetables. And the noodles last, and the first one is already cold before the last one arrives! Plus, the tables are pretty small for four people! Several times, orders weren't delivered! For €30 per person, it's rather "expensive." The idea itself is good, but the execution is rather difficult. Highly recommend the slightly spicy mie soup with salmon 😍 Overall, almost everything tasted good, but the problem (cold, mixed, or missing) is a minus point. Try it; there's a huge selection, including sushi and desserts.

The system is really cool. The drinks and food were brought extremely quickly and always in full, sometimes with a mismatch. What bothered us a bit at times was that the pictures on the tray were occasionally not identical to the food that was served. But all in all, it's worth a visit. ☺️

It's kind of deteriorating over the years, nothing special anymore. Wear and tear on the furnishings, staff... well, it does its job.

Had lunch with my four-year-old daughter. The food was good, not great. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and fast. A big plus: my four-year-old daughter got to eat for free.

Very nice and luxurious restaurant. Really gives Japanese vibes. I would go again if I could. Recommend it a lot for a date night. No loud noise, easily acces to food and the drinks are really well displayed and everything is just like the pictures.

The food was excellent. The acoustics weren't. Loud music, and the playlist repeated every four songs. Additionally, from 9 p.m. onward, cutlery from the dishwashing liquid rattled in the dining room.

It was my first time at Aiko and I had a great evening. The food came very quickly and was delicious. The selection is huge, so there's something for everyone. The staff is very friendly and prompt with service. Empty bowls, plates, etc. are quickly taken away. Sometimes you can feel the language barrier, but that's normal.

The food isn't cheap, but it's still good. Sometimes orders are forgotten for the all-you-can-eat menu. But otherwise, it's always good.

Best recommendation to immerse yourself in the world of Asian cuisine with friendly service.

I ordered my food to go. Unfortunately, the employee was very unfriendly. The food tasted OK, but for teriyaki chicken, there was far too little teriyaki sauce on it, very little sauce in general, and several pieces of gristle in the chicken. The salad on which it was served was wilted and very unappetizing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was very good, as were the drinks. The selection is large, with something for everyone. Starting at 6 p.m., you pay €30 and can eat as much as you want; it's really worth it. One star deducted for the hectic and stressful atmosphere, as the staff rush around and barely have time.

70 euros per 20 sushi is a bit too much

Unfortunately, I can't give any exact details because the parking situation was so poor that we couldn't even get in.

We always go for the all-you-can-eat option, whether by ourselves, with friends, or with family. It's super fast, and you really have to be careful not to order too quickly, otherwise you'll end up with too much even though you're already pretty full ^^ Otherwise, the food is great, everything is delicious except for sushi – unfortunately, I don't eat that. Everything else, if you don't like that, is also very tasty.

I've noticed the unfriendliness of the service several times before. Today, no "hello," no "please," no "thank you," not even a single smile. As a guest, you actually feel like a nuisance. The beef fillet skewer I ordered as part of the all-you-can-eat menu was simply not brought to the table today, just like last time (or perhaps because of the price). Good heavens, then just take it off the menu. The rest of the food was rather mediocre as well. Soup lukewarm, sushi badly rolled... I've been here at least ten times, and each time I've become more dissatisfied. Today was my last visit.

I'd prefer to give it zero stars. No greeting at the entrance, even from three waiters. We were shown to our table in an unfriendly tone, my wife was addressed informally, and we were both treated disrespectfully. No explanation, just a tablet handed to us and a direct question about what we wanted to drink, without even looking at the menu. This is absolutely not for classy people. We left straight away.

The taste is always top-notch. However, the service doesn't overdo it. Yes. No. Okay. As a guest, you don't feel very welcome, especially since you're spending a lot of money there. In the summer, it gets quite warm inside at lunchtime. There's no air conditioning, which is okay, but you can't open a window either. It's a shame.

It's a simply awesome system. I mean, the buffet is really great. Small portions, and there's a really wide selection. I'm going to sleep off my food coma for now, but I highly recommend it.

Reservations are definitely recommended, even during the week. There were three of us that evening, and the food was truly delicious. Unfortunately, the service was beyond unfriendly! There seemed to be a system error with our order tablet, and our ordered portions were delivered to the next table. We were then given a rather harsh warning. They told us we had changed tables, etc., which we found very rude!

Great as always. It's a bit hectic at busy times, though, and orders sometimes get forgotten. But as an all-you-can-eat, it's not so bad.

The food came quickly, but not a kind word from the waiter. Neither bon appetit nor the question of whether it tasted good. This is not a service. Everyone seemed very stressed. At first he slapped a piece of paper and pen on the table and we had to write down the numbers ourselves. A meal was forgotten and a few things got mixed up with the bill. Taste good but...

The all you can eat buffet is always a pleasure.

The only sushi shop in Chemnitz with a good price-performance ratio. The all-you-can-eat concept is really great and the take-away menus are not as overpriced as the competition. Everything tastes delicious, but at the buffet there is sometimes a bit of trickery in that the rice for the nigiris is a little more generous than it should be. If you offer cavier as an all-you-can-eat, I can certainly understand that and still think it's fair. The only suggestion I would like to make for improvement is that the salmon in the makis should taste the same as the salmon on the nigiris, because they sometimes smell slightly fishy. I also think butterfish and mackerel would be great additions to the menu. The service on site is very good and sometimes incredibly fast. The restaurant is always quite full during typical restaurant times, so it is advisable to make a reservation, especially on public holidays. I always enjoy coming back. 💯

Update: Sushi is now made with more rice so that customers can get full more quickly. It's a shame because you're forced to leave a piece of rice on your plate, otherwise it just tastes like rice. The rest is of course thrown away again. So pure money-making here. In terms of taste, everything was always really great, but the development is a shame for the restaurant... Positive: - Ambience, that's it Negative: The soups and the supposedly grilled things (which in the end were just fried in a lot of oil) are not that great. There are also dishes that were most likely bought frozen and simply fried. I'm talking about the "Chicken Balls", consisting of 0% chicken and 100% strange mass inside. As an Asian, I know well enough what Asian chemical bombs taste like and this was one too. Even after pointing out that it looked very dry and raw in the middle, they said it was normal. A complaint was not granted and therefore had to go through, as anything not eaten is punished with 1 euro - I didn't think it was that great in the end because the boss there didn't want to try it either. The stuff almost made me puke at the end. It would be nice if you could try the menu yourself. From time to time incorrect orders arrive. The prices are reasonable, neither too expensive nor too cheap.

Had dinner there on Saturday March 22nd, 2025. Ordering via phone or tablet was no problem and worked perfectly. The food is then delivered to the table very quickly. The employees are really on their toes and have a lot of respect. It was wonderful, the food was very tasty, but once again I ate way too much. The atmosphere is great, nice restaurant but the environment was very loud. But that should be clear when all tables are occupied. Absolutely recommended. Important table reservation without reservation very bad chances. At least in the evening hours. Parking situation also very difficult to plan walking distance. We were very lucky and were able to park right in front of the door. Because someone just wanted to leave.

The price-performance ratio is okay and the menu offers enough choice. However, the taste is rather average. Compared to the sushi from REWE/EDEKA, this sushi performs worse because the quality of the sushi rice is not particularly good - it is quite mushy and no vinegar has been added.

The food was perfectly fine, great value for money, incredibly fast service. The atmosphere is more like fast food than a restaurant. Very loud and hectic.

Because Google has a very poor review policy (bad reviews are removed without asking if the owner complains), I no longer rate anything on Google. Today Google asked me to rate Aiko. I use this opportunity to warn others not to use Google as a review platform. By the way, everything at Aiko is great 👍🏼

The food is great! We love going for “all you can eat” lunches. The food comes to the table freshly prepared and super tasty. The sushi is the best in Chemnitz and the entire staff is very friendly. A 100% recommendation!

Very good food. Everything looks fresh. There were a lot of guests there, but the staff still tried to deliver everything quickly.

Maybe it was due to the day of the week (Saturday) that we received a more than unfriendly welcome and no one was actually interested in new guests because the restaurant was packed. Luckily we had reserved, a lot of others didn't and so there was a constant queue at the door, which meant that the door was kept open permanently and cold air spoiled the ambience. The already extremely stressed waiters didn't care at all. Overall, the service was very unfriendly and put the plates on the table carelessly and wordlessly. The most unpleasant thing, however, was that orders were sometimes “delivered” with a delay of over an hour and by then the food was often already cold. As a result, you completely lost track of what was still outstanding from the orders and suddenly had the problem of having to eat something from the main course you had ordered a long time ago (so that there would be no penalty), even though you had already had dessert half an hour earlier. The food itself was really good except for what was cold, hence two stars.

It is with horror that I leave the very recent bad reviews. I've been a regular since around the beginning of 2019 and come to All You Can Eat every week if possible. So far there have never been any significant problems, the food tastes great. Problems with your orders can be discussed immediately with the staff without hesitation so that all the food ends up on the table. The only thing you should keep in mind is that uneaten food will be charged for, you don't want to waste the good food. Absolutely understandable! I therefore absolutely cannot understand the bad reviews of the last few days. PS: The owners are of Chinese ethnicity, most of the employees are also of non-German ethnicity. The accusations that “you are racist” should therefore not be given any attention.

The ordering process via tablet takes a bit of getting used to at first (for me), 5 dishes and then a 10 minute order block. Be careful, if you don't eat too much, a fee will be charged, so only order what you can actually eat. The food is really fresh (not in Chewings for hours, like at all you can eat) and really delicious. The ambience is Asian-like, as you would expect. All in all, I'll be back 😉

Went there on Saturday lunchtime for the AYCE "lunch with a large selection" and were very satisfied with the large, varied selection, the price-performance ratio was right (yes, even if it could be cheaper elsewhere) - I don't know whether it would be worth the reduced price for the normal lunch menu... The service was quick and uncomplicated - my first positive experience with a restaurant where you can order via tablet. When we asked, the waitress always got the one person who could speak some German, but there were no problems whatsoever. The atmosphere was very pleasant, it wasn't very crowded and the tables weren't crowded either. The only negative thing I noticed was that the opening time was "until 3:00 p.m." and that everyone around us was mopping and tidying up at 2:40 p.m. But I'd love to come back :)

Restaurant itself is great, but plan on finding a parking space, especially in the evening, as there aren't many available and you may have to walk a bit.

We have been regular customers for years and have been there regularly. We accepted every price increase and were able to understand it. Unfortunately, some sushi rolls have now been adjusted so that there is little on them. Lots of salad and lots of sauce on top. The fish was drastically reduced. Very unfortunate. We assume for cost reasons?! Unfortunately, the journey is no longer worth it for us and no longer justifies the price. Unfortunately, we have to look for an alternative. At that price you could easily go elsewhere for better quality sushi.

It's ok. There were 9 of us who had to put up with two tablets. Difficult, especially when ordering the first round. Otherwise the sushi was ok, although most of the meat items weren't that good. The breaded duck was so mixed and greasy, it was a shame. I thought it hasn't improved over the years, pretty much mass processing. The staff seems annoyed and stressed, but no wonder if you run back and forth a thousand times throughout the evening.

Really good food and good prices

Unfortunately, the taste is just average. I found the sushi to be rather weak. We ordered some things several times and the quality was always different: sometimes a sauce was missing or the meat was too cooked the second time. Also, some things that were ordered (all you can eat ordered via tablet) were not brought to the table. Since you have to pay for food that you don't eat, it's annoying when you don't know whether the food that wasn't brought to the table will come later or not! It is relatively loud and the ventilation is poor (hence 2 stars deducted for ambience). The service is very fast, but could be friendlier, even when there is a lot going on (the introduction is very short and some items brought are simply slammed on the table).

I can recommend all you can advice. The ambience was already loud and a bit fresh on Friday.

Order via tray…order a new round every 10 minutes. Super great portions, perfect to try out.

Super nice restaurant. The service is via a tray, in which all All You Can Eat items and drinks for a fee are included. The orders are sent in and then brought to the table very quickly. I admit it seems a bit high priced, especially the drinks. But in an all you can eat restaurant with a great atmosphere, that should work. Insider tip: good for dates.
