Yesterday, I went to "Ahoi" for a sneaker convention. It was around 12:55 PM, and I was told I could choose my own table. At that time, it wasn't even half full, and I only saw two servers bustling about. Nevertheless, my drink and food order wasn't taken until 15 minutes after my arrival. Up until then, the servers hadn't made eye contact with me at all, until I finally started waving my arms around. It took another 15 minutes for my drink and 40 minutes for my appetizer. For my appetizer, I ordered the crunchy roll. Ugh... since I was only in Japan in April (I know you shouldn't compare the two), it was a disaster. The only crunchy part was the tiny piece of cucumber. The shrimp were breaded as if they'd been prepared the day before, then briefly fried for 5 minutes just before being sent out, and then apparently left sitting at the pass for too long before reaching me. The shrimp were definitely cold, the breading was soggy, and the overall taste wasn't worth two stars. After finishing my appetizer around 2:00 PM (by which time almost all the tables were occupied), I had to remind the newly arrived server 15 minutes later that I'd like my main course. Because all the tables were occupied due to the sneaker convention, the chaos really began. To give another example: My neighbors had only ordered two house sodas and a small snack. After 30 minutes and a brief discussion with the staff, they finally got their drinks. To be fair, the servers did emphasize that there could be longer wait times due to the large number of customers. Anyway, I got my main course around 2:35 PM and was once again truly disappointed. I had wanted to try the schnitzel "Henssler" style. What I received was an absolute disgrace. The schnitzel was pork, not veal. If it had been veal, I could have understood the "thin" texture, although even for veal it would have been borderline unacceptable. The breading, similar to that of a frozen schnitzel (it was probably also a "Henssler-style thin" frozen schnitzel), was absolutely not airy, but rather tightly wrapped around the meat. The frying oil was running onto the plate, and judging by the smell and taste, it had been fried together with the frozen fish. Well, hello, is all I can say. The "Henssler-style" fries (some greens thrown on top, red onions, etc.) looked really appealing at first glance. I eagerly picked up a good portion, only to almost burst into tears a moment later. Cold fries, completely tasteless, and due to the temperature (okay, there was no temperature at all), also very soggy. If anyone had thought of complaining... no chance. The staff were completely flustered, no eye contact, my hand signals were ignored, etc. As they say, arms and legs make a spinning disc. That's exactly how the staff were acting. End of the sea shanty. After over two hours, I left the restaurant sad and hungry. Here's a piece of advice for the owner: Please check beforehand if there are any trade fairs, events, etc. taking place and schedule the staff accordingly. Because they repeatedly emphasized that this was NOT the case and that they were completely surprised and overwhelmed by the crowd. Oh, and about the table next to me. They wanted to cancel their food order when I left. However, their drinks were added to the bill. And if they didn't starve, then... ;) End of story, and almost €34 down the drain. Ah, hello!

Ahoy! We were at your restaurant last Sunday! The service was simply awful. The mayonnaise for the sweet potato fries only arrived after we asked again, when we had almost finished the fries. We would have liked to order more drinks, but the staff wasn't attentive. When we asked, one of the employees said, "I'm not responsible for this table." The fish and chips could have come from Frosta or Iglo. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio is probably still okay. The food was alright. After the main course, the table wasn't cleared. We finally asked for the bill. We would have liked to order dessert, an espresso, but we'd had enough. The waiter tried to offer us dessert at the end, but we declined. There was one good thing about the evening: the drinks, two per person, were on the house because of the poor service! Ultimately, we won't be coming back anytime soon. There are just too many better options. ... Too bad, Mr. Hennsler.

I've been a regular customer for years and I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. The staff is super nice, friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious and the price-performance ratio is also excellent :-)

It couldn't get any worse... The two of us arrived from an event around 7 pm on Sunday evening. I'd eaten at Ahoi several times in Hamburg before. There, I'd always received very polite, quick, and attentive service. We wanted to end the evening nicely and went to Ahoi in the Motorwelt shopping center. Only a few tables were occupied, but I still asked a woman at the bar (the manager for the evening??) if we could sit wherever we liked or if we'd be assigned a table. She asked if we had a reservation or if we were just coming in. We hadn't. She then offered me a few options. We sat down. After a few minutes (of being ignored), I politely and still in good spirits asked a waiter passing by our table if I could order two Kölsch beers. His short, precise answer was: "No, I'm not responsible for that." To which I asked him who was responsible then? As he hurried past (why rush? There really weren't many tables occupied, maybe a fifth full!), he managed to call out to me that he'd let another waiter know. Suddenly, the waiter responsible for the outdoor seating area approached the first waiter. The first waiter asked the second waiter to take our order. The second waiter responded just as curtly as the first: "No, I won't do that, it's not my area and I'm very busy." Very busy?! The second waiter was serving a grand total of two tables, one with eight people and another with two. The two people had also arrived five minutes after us. When nothing had happened after several minutes, I actually had the audacity to go inside (to the bar) and impudently asked again if someone could please take our order. Unfortunately, I asked the first waiter again, who gave me an increasingly unfriendly (because he seemed annoyed) answer: "I'm not responsible for the outdoor seating area, my colleague will serve you." I replied, "No, he isn't. He's deliberately and persistently ignoring us. Couldn't you take our order?" The waiter responded, "No, I can't." I was quite taken aback by such unwillingness and unfriendly behavior! I pointed out (increasingly bewildered by the refusal to serve in this establishment) that I was a customer and would like to be served. His reply: "And I am a waiter here." Well, that was our experience at Steffen Henssler's Ahoi. We got up and left. I didn't feel like talking to the owner anymore; the atmosphere was ruined, and so was the desire to eat in a restaurant with such unfriendly and ignorant waiters. Dear waiters from Sunday evening (November 2, 2025): Choose your profession wisely. This is unacceptable. You both ruined the end of the evening, and you also damaged Ahoi's business and reduced its revenue. Perhaps Mr. Henssler doesn't need the business. But one should definitely be more selective when choosing employees. Hamburg was great three times, Cologne was unfortunately only once and never again—absolutely terrible. It couldn't be worse. We won't be coming back (we live in Cologne, by the way) and we certainly won't be recommending Ahoi to anyone.

We visited you today and had the pleasure of enjoying your delicious food to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We were both absolutely delighted, and the service was top-notch!

Friendly staff. Atmosphere okay. Food is now only frozen, though nicely presented. The fish and chips were frozen, as was the burger patty. The currywurst was okay.

Girls' time...after the musical, off to Henssler. The atmosphere is nice, but not original. It's quite loud and there's a certain hecticness there, also due to the wait staff. The service is okay. The menu has something for everyone. The food isn't really special! It's very cilantro-heavy. The Henssler-style fries...weren't exactly a hit. And I can get the fish fillet from Frosta, too. The passion fruit spritzer was good, but not a bargain. I'll definitely go somewhere else for my next meal.

My absolute favorite restaurant! I love coming here again and again – the food is always fresh and incredibly delicious. The staff is very friendly and attentive; you just feel at home. A great experience every time – highly recommended!

The sushi and sushi bowl were delicious. The chocolate cake for dessert was also good. However, we didn't like the fried fish so much. Unfortunately, it didn't taste like anything. Parking is subject to a fee.

I had the feeling I was sitting in a canteen, it was very loud, people were constantly walking past our table, the schnitzels looked like they came from a furniture store and according to my wife they tasted like they did when I asked if they had mushrooms in them, the waiter repeatedly made fun of me, my daughter ordered the rump steak, when I asked if they had herb butter the answer was no, my fish and chips wasn't anything special, I could have gone to Nordsee but the chips were very tasty, oh yes, I also had to pay the parking fee, there are two large car parks but both have a charge of 1.60 euros an hour

Super delicious food, friendly staff

Unfortunately, my expectations of the place were higher; I was looking forward to a fancy restaurant. It was more suited to a break. Perhaps I should have done more research. The food was perfectly fine, but what bothered me a lot was the restless and irritated staff. Sitting on the balcony at the bar, you can hear everything.

The interesting vehicles in the exhibition make you hungry. ...what to do? For a quick snack, AHOI offers fish and chips, chicken teriyaki, and much more. The fries and sauces are delicious.

Nice ambiance and a great location. Unfortunately, the waitress wasn't very enthusiastic, which she made clear. The fish dishes are good, but the burgers unfortunately come with a frozen patty. Although I really like Stefan Henssler, I have to be honest with my review. The burgers aren't good value for money. However, the maritime ambiance and the location make up for a lot. It's definitely worth a visit if you don't have too high expectations for the food or service.

The staff was very particular (very loud and present, but difficult to reach) and the food was delicious, but the meat, for example, was marbled and served without spice grinders or knives. For the price, I expected better quality, but everything was edible and elegantly presented. My companions were very pleasant, and we had a good evening at Ahoi, even if we would have liked more to drink ;) I'll give you another chance and come back soon. Maybe a 5/5? :)

The salmon burger from the summer menu was delicious. I hope it becomes a permanent item. :) The sushi and beef burger were okay. The side salad was delicious.

We ate at Ahoi two weeks ago and were absolutely thrilled. The bowls were truly gigantic, and simple fish and chips were transformed into a taste experience par excellence with a truffle ponzu sauce! We'd love to come back!

So, I was at Ahoi yesterday, August 16, 2025. Yes, the ambiance could be improved a bit, but apart from the fact that it seemed a bit gloomy and plain, it was okay. It's all in the eye of the beholder...after a beautiful day, that's what's beautiful. The service was good, our waiter was courteous and motivated! The interesting thing is, how was the food? Honestly, I hadn't given any thought beforehand about what to expect, as I had no idea I was going to Ahoi that evening...But I have to say, I've never eaten such a delicious meal out...I'm not a yardstick, and I'm not a gourmet, but my burger and fries were amazing!!! So, my evening was simply a success...Fresh, delicious, simply authentic...super good...Thanks for that, I'll definitely be back. The prices are normal given the current situation...I've eaten more expensive meals, but they were bad...so everything was fine...Shoutout to yesterday's chef...keep up the good work!!!

We went there twice. The food is okay. You can tell it's a franchise system of sorts. We had different dishes each time, and none of them really impressed us. Nevertheless, it's a well-thought-out restaurant with a good menu.

Super delicious food. Very freshly prepared, delicious, and well-portioned. The service is extremely child-oriented. I've rarely seen such friendly waiters. The value for money is definitely good.

We waited a long time outside for service (almost 20 minutes), even though it wasn't busy, and the waiter cleared the empty table behind us twice and saw us. The order at the neighboring table was taken first before someone even wandered over to us. The service was also rather reserved and not particularly accommodating. I found my meal very oversalted and told the server so. I ordered my second wine at the front of the restaurant because no one came out again. It was our first time here and probably our last. When I was paying, I told the waitress if everything was okay except for the "oversalted fries" (her exact words!). Among other things, we were told that it was our own fault for sitting so hidden behind the decorations. No one could see us. Besides, there was a lot to do inside. And she agreed that it would be better if we didn't come back. Zero insight, no willingness to accept criticism, but to ask questions. So, AHOY, we're weighing anchor. Mr. Henssler is no longer earning anything from us.

Highly recommended; the food was a truly delicious experience for us. We'll be back soon.

We stayed overnight at the V8 Hotel and were thrilled. The food was super fresh and of high quality, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere of the Motorworld is exceptional.

Visited Ahoi today, December 29th. Very friendly service, who immediately checked for 2G. The restaurant is divided into two sections. Inside and outside. The menu is clear but interestingly curated. Children's dishes, fish, steak, and vegetarian dishes. The dishes are very tasty. Pannfisch (pan-fried fish), with bacon and rösti, served with a delicious mustard sauce. The rump steak with fries is also good. The prices are negotiable, but you also have to consider the location.

The food was okay. I expected more for the price. But the atmosphere was very nice and the staff was good. However, if the staff asks you about the sauces, they should mention that some variations (e.g., "Steffen Henssler Sauce") cost extra. Otherwise, you'll be shocked when you see the bill.

Very nice restaurant and beer garden. Super friendly and quick service. I had a steak that was delicious. Cooked to perfection. The side salad looked very good. But it had no flavor. Just a little sauce on top, but it was nothing.

So we ate three courses with high expectations. Appetizer: Potato soup with sesame seeds and two prawns in batter. The prawns were coated in a super delicious batter, but the soup wasn't that tasty, unfortunately too sour. Main course: Tuna burger and fries. I'll be honest, there wasn't anything significant that made me think, 'Wow, I'd have to bite into it again.' The fries were crispy and the mayo was quite tasty. Somehow I expected more. My girlfriend had the salmon bowl; she thought the rice and salmon were super tasty, but the foam, for example, wasn't that great. Everything else wasn't really dressed or in a sauce or anything. Dessert: Belgian waffle and chocolate cake with ice cream. We suspect none of it was homemade because it just tasted kind of store-bought. So, familiar... SUMMARY: The price/performance ratio was excellent: €82 for two three-course meals and a Coke each. Given the name, we expected a lot more. We don't need to come again; we didn't like it enough.

My wife and I went there for dinner yesterday. My wife was there for the second time, and I was there for the first time. My wife had been there for lunch with her work, came home in the evening, and said we should go there together. We both really like Steffen and his style. We actually wanted to go to Ahoi there during our last visit to Hamburg, but unfortunately didn't manage. So, now in Cologne. We were very satisfied with the food and service, and this won't be the last time we'll be there. The ambiance is a matter of taste in every respect. We like it there. The food was beautifully presented, and we were very satisfied with the taste. The price at Ahoi is completely reasonable. We've eaten more expensively and worse, and not at a famous chef. For us, it was a successful evening, and we were very satisfied with the food. We look forward to seeing you again at Ahoi Cologne. Markus and Daniela.

After a long break, we returned to Ahoi Steffen Henssler in Cologne. I had a few reservations, as the chain was sold some time ago, and we had recently noticed a decline in quality at another location. I'm glad that my fears were completely unfounded here in Cologne. The fried tuna sashimi in truffle ponzu butter is, in my opinion, one of the best dishes I've ever eaten. It couldn't be bettered, in my opinion. It was also perfectly prepared, with the tuna cooked to perfection. The same goes for the tuna burger. It's always a matter of taste, but I simply love Henssler-style fries. There were three of us there, and we had three starters, three main courses, two different house sodas, espresso, and coffee. We were completely satisfied. The same goes for the appetizer of salted popcorn at the front! I've had various other dishes on previous visits and can recommend almost all of them. The menu is varied and innovative; there should be something for everyone. The food is pricey, but the quality is justified. I like the typical "Ahoi" atmosphere and feel very comfortable there. The service was absolutely outstanding. A model of friendliness and competence. Thank you again for that, and a special thank you for the little extra treat you gave us at the end. Dear Ahoi Team, First of all, we would like to thank you very much. Our visit with you was a special experience in many ways. The service was friendly, attentive, and consistently attentive. You can tell that the well-being of your guests is important to you. Nevertheless, we would like to openly address a few impressions, not out of dissatisfaction, but in the hope that you can further exploit the potential of your concept. What struck us and some other guests around us was the lack of coordination in the service process. It took a very long time for someone to come to the table. Drink orders were also significantly delayed, and it took even longer before the food could finally be ordered. The staff were always friendly, but one had the impression that the processes were not well coordinated. Friendliness is worth a lot, but without structure, frustration sets in, both for guests and the team. So what we were waiting for was all the more pleasing. The food was truly very good. The taste was absolutely convincing, fresh, and creatively presented. The quality and signature of the kitchen are clearly evident here. A huge compliment for that. What disappointed us, however, was the price-performance ratio. The portion size, the effort put into the presentation, and the overall experience were unfortunately not in proportion to the prices. In the end, we were left with the feeling that we had paid too much for what was offered. All in all, a very pleasant visit with great food, but there is clearly room for improvement in the organization and pricing. We hope you see our feedback as an honest suggestion. That's exactly what we meant.

I invited my mother here for her birthday. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a rest stop restaurant. The waitress seemed very overwhelmed, even though it was extremely quiet. I definitely expected more from the food. The starters were divine, but unfortunately, the main courses were even more disappointing. The plates were mostly piled high with fries; there were no vegetables. The tuna steak was completely overseasoned. We were very disappointed.

Overall disappointing, it was a Saturday evening, the staff was overwhelmed and only fake friendly. The wrong food was brought 3 times and we waited 45 minutes for the bill. The food was simple and nothing special. We were there twice, the first and the last time.

It was delicious. However, I paid by card, and the card reader was very slow to load. We thought the payment wouldn't go through, so we paid in cash. The payment went through, and I sent a copy of the statement to their accounting department. Apparently, they couldn't find the payment receipt, so we didn't receive a refund, voucher, or anything similar. Thank you for the great service.

I think many people have too high expectations. But if you know Henssler, it is originally for simple, homemade good cuisine. This was 100% true. Homemade sauces! The fries were not seasoned as standard, the fish was on point and nice and crispy 😍. The burger meat is juicy and tastes well balanced. It's a great combination of good, simple cuisine and a touch of special taste. The atmosphere is great! The service was very accommodating and friendly. Thank you ! Keep it up. Upscale fast food cuisine, the taste is ok, due to the heavy sauces, you can hardly manage the sushi plates, for example. Conclusion, better order again. The staff is nice and also disorganized. Unfortunately you have to park be paid.

If I go to a celebrity chef, I have to expect that the prices will be a little higher. But the quality is right. Well, I might say that the location doesn't exactly invite you to linger, but I was well served. When it comes to fish'n'chips, I don't just want to highlight the fish, but especially the really good fries. I love N.Y. Cheesecake and I want to keep the one at Ahoy in my heart. Here I learn to enjoy the food, it's that good. My darling and I are not here for the last time.

I used to enjoy coming here, but now unfortunately you have to wait a long time before you can place your order. The food was okay, but unfortunately not as good as before. What is positive, however, is that the response was very friendly and accommodating.

Sorry, I'm expecting something from that name, especially since Mr. Henssler himself likes to destroy others. This is not meant to be revenge, but rather a real picture of the situation. Food ok, but not transparent. Neither an indication of which animal the meat of the burger is from, nor an indication of how many grams are on it. At least I was able to ask about the latter. I find 140 grams of undeclared meat at least strange for the price. It was ok, but theoretically it could have come from a discounter. Lots of fries that cost nothing to buy, no side salad, i.e. an estimated value of less than €8. But the biggest shame is that you still have to pay for parking. Sorry, we tried it for the second time today (parking was free back then otherwise I wouldn't have come a second time) Stick with “Grill den Henssler” or take care of your shops. Final conclusion: French fries shop with a high standard. The staff cannot be blamed. Friendly and accommodating.

The three of us were at Ahoi / Motorworld Cologne on Good Friday. You should definitely try it out, but don't arrive with too high expectations. It's a really chic quick snack that also tastes good. The only thing to criticize was the tomato soup, which was very tasty, but I've had much better elsewhere several times. I thought the chili in the soup was brilliant as a tuining. The bowls looked very good and I'm sure they also tasted very good because they were ordered in abundance by the guests present. We had pan fish: very tasty and the Henssler schnitzel: crispy, fries awesome. What was annoying, however, was the 45 minute waiting time between the starter and the main course. The service was always attentive and friendly but the young girl should look for another job. Conclusion for us, we'd love to do it again, but only if you're nearby. A longer journey like ours leads to disappointment because the expectations are too high.

The food comes in large portions even for the kids meal. It is delicious but i find the fries a little too salty. Nevertheless, the food tastes great. Service is good and fast. The place was quite packed even at 3pm on a Sunday.

We had already been to the Ahoi in Bonn, and so we also felt very comfortable at the Ahoi here in Cologne. The waiter was really remarkably friendly and accommodating. Music may be a bit loud depending on where you sit. Unfortunately we didn't have time to look at Motorworld, but you can definitely combine that with a visit to the restaurant.

I'm thinking back and forth about whether I can recommend the Ahoy, since tastes are very different. The service is, without any restrictions, simply top! The ambience is nice, but it is also relatively loud due to the many guests - I think it can't be avoided. Hmm, well... I had a currywurst (made from veal) and somehow that wasn't really my thing. My companions had something different and were happier. Not highly praiseworthy, but satisfied nonetheless. I was happy with dessert (iced chocolate), but my companion wasn't really happy (churros). They were very small and probably tasteless, but that might also have been due to the caramel sauce. All in all, it was good to be there, but I personally won't be an Ahoy fan.

Very tasty food, we somehow sat in the passage between two car dealerships. So it wasn't that comfortable and quite drafty.

Food was delicious, no question, but the whole thing seemed really thrown together and like a glorified snack menu. I had 5 shrimps and another plate of fries. Good amount but 20 euros? I find it a bit cheeky. The service was great, the waiter was very attentive, but it's not a place I'll have to go to again.

Leicht überforderte Bedienung, aber dabei sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Meine Frau hatte einen Thunfisch-Burger (der war lecker aber nicht unglaublich) und ich hatte das Steak mit Pommes Hensler Style. Das Fleisch war leider sehr trocken. Ich habe dem Servierer das mitgeteilt,er hat sehr gut reagiert und sich entschuldigt. Unsere Freunde waren soweit mit ihrer Bowl und dem Thunfischsteak zufrieden. Wir haben außerdem 4 Gutscheine für Getränke als Entschudligung bekommen.

Nothing special. The name is used for not even standard food. The sushi is made with mushy rice and is wet with sauce. The currywurst was ok, but it just came with sweet potato fries. The specially ordered side dishes were delivered too late. Oh well. Service was ok. The location is far too crowded and there is more of a camping atmosphere outside

It wasn't clear on the website whether there were vegan options, so called. According to the information on the phone there should be a vegan burger. Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience. We were escorted to the table and had to wait 10 minutes until someone came to at least take the drinks. About half an hour later there was still no food because no one came. Even asking didn't work until the second attempt because it was forgotten the first time I asked. Food came quite quickly and it tasted OK. When we then asked for the bill, two more attempts were made to contact the waiter. He kept forgetting and ended up having to ask us what we ate and drank. Isn't it normally in your system which table got what? We definitely won't be coming back, but it's up to you.

The vegan burger patty was extremely good, but unfortunately the rest of the burger wasn't. The non-alcoholic cocktail didn't deserve its name; it wasn't seasoned properly at all, as if someone had made a mistake with the quantities. Better just order a soda. Immer wieder gerne und auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Leider war es sehr kalt als wir mittags dort ankamen und es zog ein wenig. Auch der Tisch direkt hinter der Popcorn Maschine war ziemlich eng und beklemmend. Also nichts für Menschen, die keine Kleidergröße 36 haben... Das Essen war wie immer super lecker. Ich freue mich auf's neues Mal.
