Brauhaus Quetsch in Köln

We celebrated my wife's birthday at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the view of the Rhine was beautiful. The service was good and attentive—although we had to wait a bit due to the large number of guests. However, all the dishes were served at the same time for everyone. The prices are reasonable. And the most amazing thing: the waitress, a very honest and decent woman, returned €200 that had been lost. Thank you so much for that! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Six of us went to lunch for Mother's Day. It was simply wonderful. The service would have been a solid 10. The food was excellent. I would go back anytime. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Nice cozy heated terrace with a beautiful view of the water. When the weather is nice it is completely packed here! Classic German dishes, but also some popular international dishes. A very small wine list, but good cocktails and desserts! Definitely worth repeating!

Ich habe noch nie so etwas Unfreundliches erlebt. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern dort. Nachdem wir uns hingesetzt hatten, nahmen die Kinder ein paar Bierdeckel und bauten daraus ein kleines Haus. Da kam die Bedienung und sagte direkt als erstes: „Die Bierdeckel legt ihr bitte zurück, die sind nicht zum Spielen.“ Wir waren so perplex, dass wir gar nicht antworten konnten. Daraufhin haben wir das Restaurant sofort verlassen. Es ist ja nicht so, als hätten die Kinder die Bierdeckel herumgeworfen oder kaputt gemacht – das wäre etwas anderes. Aber ein Haus zu bauen, ist doch völlig normal. Ich bin immer noch schockiert

The two of us were there spontaneously yesterday. Since it was around 4 p.m., when you entered the restaurant, all the tables you could see on the left were free, but not cleared. A girl asked us about a reservation and said that without a reservation it would be really bad. I was a little surprised and asked if we could have one of the free tables for half an hour to eat. Somewhat reluctantly, she allowed us to choose a clean table ourselves. Unfortunately, that wasn't a good first impression. But then our actual waiter arrived, who also worked behind the counter. He was super nice and genuine, which made everything better. The boss also came and asked how it tasted. Very personable. About the ambience: I only saw the front area. I actually really like it, so comfortable. However, there is a massive ice chest in the middle of the guest area, which serves its purpose, but unfortunately devalues ​​the whole rustic ambience. Maybe you could just cover the chest with a dark lumberjack and stick a squeeze chest on top, then it would fit in great. Eat: We had asparagus soup and Sylt bruschetta as starters. Both really great, also great in terms of idea! The main course was a portion of asparagus with potatoes and hollandaise. Asparagus portion was huge, crunchy to the point and simply a poem. Homemade hollandaise, potatoes exactly as they should be. If you want to eat fresh asparagus, this is the right place for you. The second main course “Königsforst Schnitzel”, it was a classic Jägerschnitzel. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed here. Schnitzel looked nice, but unfortunately it was dry. Just like the fries, which were probably fried twice. The sauce, fortunately brought separately, was very thick. Unfortunately, the food probably sat for a while until it was served because it wasn't hot. For 22.30 euros a small side salad would have been justifiable. Conclusion: All in all a very nice restaurant with nice staff and a good menu. We would come back.

Had a great day, 9 of us were there for lunch. The food was pretty good...schnitzel and rösti from the deep fryer...fried onions on the sky and sooo sloppy...but the service was very good...I'd be happy to come back, but not for the meal 😉

Wow! The view has always been great! Like a day of vacation. The kitchen is great! The pork schnitzel with hunter's sauce and fries was excellent. This was ordered three times at our table. And everyone was totally happy. The side salad that we ordered was super fresh and delicious 😋 and the Gaffel Lemon is served in an ice-cold glass. Super refreshing 🍋🍺🧊 Would love to come back. When the weather is great, sit outside with a wonderful view of the Rhine, the Rodenkirchener Bridge and the most beautiful panorama of the most beautiful city on the Rhine. My tip: definitely go with a visitor, the greatest view ❤️ and hearty, top quality food!!! I haven't been there for some time. What the kitchen prepared for us yesterday was really great!!! We used to come just for the view... Now we add good food and nice service. Let's remember! 😉 ...and would be happy to recommend it to others! Better in the past than today. Food was good to very good, unfortunately the prices were raised quite a bit. The ambience is still rustic and beautiful, just a good mix of classic Cologne pub, beer garden or, here, covered terrace and restaurant. It's good that there is still traditional Cologne cooking.

We would have liked more whiskeys. You can visit it on every walk along the Rhine to refresh yourself.

Three out of four meals were served cold (but really cold). Accordingly, it was not possible to eat together. The waiter was nice. After the returned food was briefly pushed into the microphone to warm up, it came back. I had roulade with dumplings and red cabbage. Dumplings were too salty, roulade was tough and red cabbage was mush (probably from reheating too much). We also sat in the cold and had to put our jackets on or put the jackets on our legs. You couldn't actually ignore the cold. The door to the terrace was then closed at some point upon request.

We all sat together in a super cozy fireplace room and ate and drank delicious food. What more could you want? Always happy again!!!!!

Wer gerne unfreundlich Bedient werden möchte, ist hier genau am richtigen Platz! Alter Salat mit matschigen Tomaten und einer undefinierbaren Soße. Die restlichen Essen waren mehr als Übersicht. Auch wer zusammen essen möchte, ist hier verkehrt. Essen kam mit ca. 10 Minuten Zeitverzögerung bei den verschiedenen Gästen lau warm an. Nie wieder!!

We were celebrating a Christmas party on site with the company. Service: At the beginning the service was very good. We received our drinks promptly and what we ordered. However, as the evening progressed, the service got worse and worse. I had to order my beer four times before I got it, even though the partying crowd had already thinned out. The service lady "Ramona" was seen running off with a wreath of Kölsch and stopping at every corner to taste our drinks herself. Hardly any of the wreath ended up at the table. Our Kölsch-Weg-Kipp-Ramona was a lot of fun and definitely put my boss in his prayers, as her evening went quite happily. This was very inconvenient for us. Unfortunately. The food: The dumplings had a good seasoning, there was no sauce, the meat was okay but not great either. Red cabbage came out of the jar, which was very sad. The dessert: Kaiserschmarrn was burnt, the crepes were raw. The gratin, on the other hand, was very tasty and can therefore only be praised. Of course we still had fun and I would probably come back. But Ramona definitely won't get my beer anymore.

Beautiful view of the Rhine while choosing one of the many dishes on offer from the menu. Most typical of German cuisine (or Central European cuisine like goulash). With the pork leg, huge!, the homemade mash is perfect. Very good cabbage. Good value for money.

The food was just awfully bad: Fried potato fried way too greasy in cheap oil! Rum steak fibrous, dry, burnt black on one side; Mixed salad: our 9-year-old granddaughter can do better The men's toilet is just disgusting!! The smell of urine doesn't get any worse than this, even on the highway!!! The whole thing for 80 euros 2 people is a disgrace!!

My brewery in my Veedel how beautiful it is there. A menu that leaves nothing to be desired and the price-performance ratio is more than given. A typical Cologne brewery church, at a mega high level. The service there is warm and courteous. And even if you just want to drink a few beers, you can do that in the front area. Sitting on the terrace in summer with a view of the Herz Cathedral. What more do you want. A piece of home in the middle of Cologne? Or maybe not. But in my neighborhood it has become a second home for me.

The store is in a prime location with probably one of the best views in the city. The food has always been great and you can tell that there are experienced chefs at work here who value quality instead of tearing open bags of Mondamin and Knorr. Some of the prices are not for those on a budget (e.g. the desserts), but they are reasonable given the quality and location.

Food is ok, the currywurst is a brat curry, not a real currywurst and the sauce takes a lot of getting used to. But schnitzel and sauerbraten really tasty. Service, when it comes, is very friendly. We celebrated our aunt's 93rd birthday on September 17th, 2024 at the Quetsch brewery. We had a test dinner there with her the Sunday before and were overall satisfied. We arranged a table for the following Wednesday with the responsible service person and reserved it accordingly for Wednesday evening. On Wednesday the Quetsch was very full and our table was given away to other guests at the reserved time. Instead, a table for 6 people, with a 7th chair placed in front of them, was kept free in the middle of the restaurant. Our 93 year old aunt with a walker couldn't possibly sit there. We spoke to the waiter about it and the comment was “sit down there, I don’t have time for the rest” he said and turned around. The manager of the house was also not prepared to respond to our request and pointed to the table in the middle. In the meantime we had found a table in the back area of ​​the brewery, which wasn't on the terrace, but at least there was enough space for 7 people. Afterwards the manager of the house came and apologized that he just wanted to do something good for us. The first round was on the house. The service for the rest of the evening was slow and we were often left high and dry. The food was ok, requests for changes such as: B. in the dressing for the salad were not taken into account. Prices acceptable. As we were leaving, the waiter from the beginning was sitting on a chair, looking at his cell phone and saying "thank you and goodbye" to everyone who left without looking up. We stopped and said: When it comes to service, you should definitely avoid saying “I don’t have time for that”! The waiter looked at us with empty eyes and said: what? I didn't listen to them. We were so annoyed that we couldn't visit the Brauhaus Quetsch again.
