Brauhaus Quetsch in Köln

A typical Cologne pub, I thought, but it was a large, chic restaurant with good food and a Köbes as it should be! Absolutely recommended!

Three out of four meals were served cold (but really cold). Accordingly, it was not possible to eat together. The waiter was nice. After the returned food was briefly pushed into the microphone to warm up, it came back. I had roulade with dumplings and red cabbage. Dumplings were too salty, roulade was tough and red cabbage was mush (probably from reheating too much). We also sat in the cold and had to put our jackets on or put the jackets on our legs. You couldn't actually ignore the cold. The door to the terrace was then closed at some point upon request.

The service and the food are great, a young waiter kept coming and asking us if we wanted something to drink, really very attentive.

Celebrated my husband's birthday today with friends and family. We were 16 people. The service was attentive, quick and very friendly and competent. The food was super tasty. We all sat together in a super cozy fireplace room and ate and drank delicious food. What more could you want? Always happy again!!!!!

Wer gerne unfreundlich Bedient werden möchte, ist hier genau am richtigen Platz! Alter Salat mit matschigen Tomaten und einer undefinierbaren Soße. Die restlichen Essen waren mehr als Übersicht. Auch wer zusammen essen möchte, ist hier verkehrt. Essen kam mit ca. 10 Minuten Zeitverzögerung bei den verschiedenen Gästen lau warm an. Nie wieder!!

Unfriendly staff coupled with bad food are really not a good combination. I would particularly like to highlight the carelessly prepared food. The portion size was very clear, the Kaiserschmarren was an absolute disgrace. The taste was absolutely subterranean and it was reminiscent of scrambled eggs with powdered sugar... Only the view of the Rhine is beautiful. I definitely won't come back.

Super leckeres Essen, flotte, aufmerksame und nette Bedienung!

We were celebrating a Christmas party on site with the company. Service: At the beginning the service was very good. We received our drinks promptly and what we ordered. However, as the evening progressed, the service got worse and worse. I had to order my beer four times before I got it, even though the partying crowd had already thinned out. The service lady "Ramona" was seen running off with a wreath of Kölsch and stopping at every corner to taste our drinks herself. Hardly any of the wreath ended up at the table. Our Kölsch-Weg-Kipp-Ramona was a lot of fun and definitely put my boss in his prayers, as her evening went quite happily. This was very inconvenient for us. Unfortunately. The food: The dumplings had a good seasoning, there was no sauce, the meat was okay but not great either. Red cabbage came out of the jar, which was very sad. The dessert: Kaiserschmarrn was burnt, the crepes were raw. The gratin, on the other hand, was very tasty and can therefore only be praised. Of course we still had fun and I would probably come back. But Ramona definitely won't get my beer anymore.

We had our Christmas party there yesterday and I was extremely satisfied. The buffet was very tasty and good value, the service was very good (especially Kölschfee Ramona😃). Gladly again at any time.

Beautiful view of the Rhine while choosing one of the many dishes on offer from the menu. Most typical of German cuisine (or Central European cuisine like goulash). With the pork leg, huge!, the homemade mash is perfect. Very good cabbage. Good value for money.

The food was just awfully bad: Fried potato fried way too greasy in cheap oil! Rum steak fibrous, dry, burnt black on one side; Mixed salad: our 9-year-old granddaughter can do better The men's toilet is just disgusting!! The smell of urine doesn't get any worse than this, even on the highway!!! The whole thing for 80 euros 2 people is a disgrace!!

Were there with a larger group. Service not very friendly, food average at best. And then also rather expensive! Maybe we were unlucky, the last time we were there was a few years ago and we were quite happy. Now we say, not again!

The good reviews raise question marks in my head. None of the food was freshly homemade. Neither the Rösti, nor the Spätzle or the burger. For me it has little to do with a good brewery

My brewery in my Veedel how beautiful it is there. A menu that leaves nothing to be desired and the price-performance ratio is more than given. A typical Cologne brewery church, at a mega high level. The service there is warm and courteous. And even if you just want to drink a few beers, you can do that in the front area. Sitting on the terrace in summer with a view of the Herz Cathedral. What more do you want. A piece of home in the middle of Cologne? Or maybe not. But in my neighborhood it has become a second home for me.

The store is in a prime location with probably one of the best views in the city. The food has always been great and you can tell that there are experienced chefs at work here who value quality instead of tearing open bags of Mondamin and Knorr. Some of the prices are not for those on a budget (e.g. the desserts), but they are reasonable given the quality and location.

The meat from tough stick to almost raw burger meat. Service itself was nice but VERY slow despite the small number of customers. Balcony only open in warm months. I'm sorry but I can't recommend it. Answer: - we returned the burger and received a new one (which again took a very long time) - maybe we were unlucky with the stake. - there weren't many customers inside or outside. You may have been short-staffed that evening. - The terrace was covered and converted into a kind of winter garden with a rubber roller blind. So in winter it appears to be not a terrace but a winter garden - you don't sit outside

Delicious food at a good price Nice service View of the Rhine

Food is ok, the currywurst is a brat curry, not a real currywurst and the sauce takes a lot of getting used to. But schnitzel and sauerbraten really tasty. Service, when it comes, is very friendly. However, when there was hardly any activity, we were forgotten twice and had to remind ourselves. Therefore star deducted.

We celebrated our aunt's 93rd birthday on September 17th, 2024 at the Quetsch brewery. We had a test dinner there with her the Sunday before and were overall satisfied. We arranged a table for the following Wednesday with the responsible service person and reserved it accordingly for Wednesday evening. On Wednesday the Quetsch was very full and our table was given away to other guests at the reserved time. Instead, a table for 6 people, with a 7th chair placed in front of them, was kept free in the middle of the restaurant. Our 93 year old aunt with a walker couldn't possibly sit there. We spoke to the waiter about it and the comment was “sit down there, I don’t have time for the rest” he said and turned around. The manager of the house was also not prepared to respond to our request and pointed to the table in the middle. In the meantime we had found a table in the back area of ​​the brewery, which wasn't on the terrace, but at least there was enough space for 7 people. Afterwards the manager of the house came and apologized that he just wanted to do something good for us. The first round was on the house. The service for the rest of the evening was slow and we were often left high and dry. The food was ok, requests for changes such as: B. in the dressing for the salad were not taken into account. Prices acceptable. As we were leaving, the waiter from the beginning was sitting on a chair, looking at his cell phone and saying "thank you and goodbye" to everyone who left without looking up. We stopped and said: When it comes to service, you should definitely avoid saying “I don’t have time for that”! The waiter looked at us with empty eyes and said: what? I didn't listen to them. We were so annoyed that we couldn't visit the Brauhaus Quetsch again.

Where do you start there; Think when eating: Beef broth too salty, white bread too old, rump steak with fried potatoes never again, the meat should supposedly be fresh, gray color, taste just terrible, the fried potatoes cold and burnt, and when you complain about it, you can get the following explanation; The answer was that meat is supposed to be fresh, and where does this indefinable taste come from? You can only eat there if you have plenty of Indus. Conclusion: You can also invest your money better than there. Not recommended for tourists. Prices are simply too expensive.

The food was a buffet, unfortunately a lot of ready-made food and little freshly prepared food. The service was great and came even when you didn't need anything. The ambience was ok, we were in a room with air conditioning where unfortunately water was dripping from the pipe, which detracted from the overall experience. The terrace looked inviting but is always occupied quickly, it seems. Overall 3 stars out of 5. There is room for improvement.

Quaint restaurant, delicious food, attentive service

Last Sunday we were at the Brauhaus Quetsch with the family, after we had been totally excited a few days before and were able to make a reservation for 10 people with the friendly gentleman in service (Heiko). As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a great table on the beautiful terrace with a view of the Rhine. We were well looked after by Nicola and Heiko and the children were also happy because they were the first to receive their food - thank you very much for that! The service was perfect, we were never left high and dry and were treated to delicious food - I wouldn't be surprised if Heiko had a hand in it even when the weather was nice 😉 A really great evening, we would love to come back!

We were there with a relatively large group (5 adults and 4 children). We didn't have a reservation and yet everything was done so that we could sit on the back terrace. The drinks came quickly and the waiter and waitress were very friendly. The food was a bit pricey but really tasty. There was something for everyone in our group, although the selection wasn't very large. Unfortunately there is a small drawback and that is the park situation, but you can take a walk straight after the very rich meal. All in all, a highly recommended gastronomic offering.

The ambience is great. Unfortunately the service is awesome. It is forbidden to smoke a cigar on the terrace, although it only bothered the cellar lady. I've never experienced anything like this anywhere. Incredible!!! Once and never again!!!! Fortunately, you are alone in your opinion that opinion polls are now being conducted on cigars. And no one ate it either! That's a fact!

I ordered the schnitzel with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, unfortunately the puree was inedible and the male waiter was super rude and unfriendly. I would never eat here again for this price. Too bad. Note: The waiter read this review and then insulted/called me an idiot. Well, what else can you say? It doesn't surprise me that there are sexist signs in this restaurant (see photo).

Great atmosphere, especially on the terrace. The food has declined significantly in recent years. The brownie for dessert was rock hard. The fried egg on the meatloaf is almost raw, Unfortunately, the portions are also getting smaller and smaller. The service was nice but not attentive, probably due to the high workload.

The service seems to be overwhelmed at lunchtime with three tables already occupied. You wait forever to place your order. The waiters sometimes seem to deliberately ignore you, but then they have time for pseudo-funny sayings. The restaurant used to be much better and the portions were larger. The main courses tasted good, but the desserts weren't worth it. I find two small scoops of sorbet with melon wedges and cheap spray cream for €9.40 cheeky. The crowning glory, however, was the side salad for €4.80, which was forgotten, not brought until the end after repeated requests, but then brazenly charged for. When asked about this, the waiter said it was a mistake and he hadn't looked at the bill again. However, since I have read other reviews here from guests who have had similar experiences, I get the feeling that this is a scam. You can try it. We got the money back for the side salad, but we won't be coming back.

The terrace on the Rhine side was occupied, we hadn't made a reservation. Get a table at the entrance. After 10 minutes of non-compliance by the waitress, the landlord asked for 2 Kölsch, who was annoyed. Then they moved on and there are even more nice restaurants in Cologne.

Wir kennen das Lokal und sind mit einer guten bis sehr guten Erfahrung aus vergangenen Jahren dahin zum Abendessen gefahren. Leider war das Essen ungenießbar. Der überbackene Blumenkohl war ungekocht und nur im Fett paniert ausgebacken. Dadurch war er hart und geschmacklos. Geschmacklos waren auch die Soße und der kleine Salat auf dem Teller. Die Kartoffeln dabei waren ungeschält. Die Reklamation wurde genervt aufgenommen. Ich bestellte daraufhin überbackenen Camembert. Da kann man nichts falsch machen, dachte ich. Jedoch kam das Essen mit einem Haufen frittierter Petersilie mit langen Stielen darüber geworfen an . Das Brot dazu war ausgetrocknet. Wir haben bezahlt und werden dort nicht mehr essen. Schade.

Today I was able to celebrate my birthday in the Quetsch. I made the reservation early. Today's reception from a smaller woman was a bit unfriendly, but the service at the table was top. The food was also good after minor adjustments. The dessert “cold and hot” was good, but one expected more ice cream for the price.

Reservations are recommended during peak times. During our visit, the waitress was kind enough to add a seat (since there were one more of us than advertised), even though we were already sitting quite close to the aisle. We were also very satisfied with the service. The food was OK, although some felt the need to add a little more seasoning. However, we found it a bit strange that another guest was allowed to smoke on the completely enclosed terrace; Luckily most of the smoke moved to another table. The description is accurate: the view of the Rhine from the terrace is quite spectacular.

The food is pretty simple. More towards home cooking. Too expensive for that.

A very nice address with a great view of the Rhine. Very nice service and very inviting interior. We got a seat on the very comfortable terrace even though we hadn't reserved beforehand (it was a spontaneous visit). Unfortunately the food wasn't what you would expect in such a good location. Cheap fries from the oven that could easily have been used as nails and veal schnitzel tasted more like it had been prepared hours ago and had only been warmed up briefly. When asked, I received a fresh, better portion of fries, but I had already finished my schnitzel and so this improvement was unfortunately unnecessary. We would have found the prices acceptable if everything had been right, but we wouldn't classify them as cheap. Can we now make a recommendation? ..for the beautiful view and the nice service.. definitely, yes! But only for drinking, not for eating.
