Where do you start there; Think when eating: Beef broth too salty, white bread too old, rump steak with fried potatoes never again, the meat should supposedly be fresh, gray color, taste just terrible, the fried potatoes cold and burnt, and when you complain about it, you can get the following explanation; The answer was that meat is supposed to be fresh and where does this indefinable taste come from? You can only eat there if you have plenty of Indus. Conclusion: You can also invest your money better than there. Not recommended for tourists. Prices are simply too expensive.

Very nice brewery. The food (I had goulash) was very delicious and the service was courteous and more than friendly.

The food was a buffet, unfortunately a lot of ready-made food and little freshly prepared food. The service was great and came even when you didn't need anything. The ambience was ok, we were in a room with air conditioning where unfortunately water was dripping from the pipe, which detracted from the overall experience. The terrace looked inviting but is always occupied quickly, it seems. Overall 3 stars out of 5. There is room for improvement.

Quaint restaurant, delicious food, attentive service

Last Sunday we were at the Brauhaus Quetsch with the family, after we had been totally excited a few days before and were able to make a reservation for 10 people with the friendly gentleman in service (Heiko). As soon as we entered, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a great table on the beautiful terrace with a view of the Rhine. We were well looked after by Nicola and Heiko and the children were also happy because they were the first to receive their food - thank you very much for that! The service was perfect, we were never left high and dry and were treated to delicious food - I wouldn't be surprised if Heiko had a hand in it even when the weather was nice 😉 A really great evening, we would love to come back!

Today, after a long time, we spontaneously stopped by again and got a very nice table on the terrace for a generous time slot without a reservation, which was then reserved. little dream. What should be highlighted is the friendly, down-to-earth, warm Cologne welcome from the boss (or placer), who really makes you feel welcome. For me the most beautiful terrace on the left bank of the Rhine in Cologne. The price/performance ratio can only be described as very good. Honest, down-to-earth cuisine that relies on freshness and regionality. Authentic and good! Absolute recommendation!

The good reviews raise question marks in my head. None of the food was freshly homemade. Neither the Rösti, nor the Spätzle or the burger. For me it has little to do with a good brewery

Came over to eat spontaneously, without a reservation, at peak time. Just 5 minutes later we had a table. The dishes on offer are exceptional. I could have ordered the card from top to bottom! The food was very tasty and filling. We will definitely come back!

We were there with a relatively large group (5 adults and 4 children). We didn't have a reservation and yet everything was done so that we could sit on the back terrace. The drinks came quickly and the waiter and waitress were very friendly. The food was a bit pricey but really tasty. There was something for everyone in our group, although the selection wasn't very large. Unfortunately there is a small drawback and that is the park situation, but you can take a walk straight after the very rich meal. All in all, a highly recommended gastronomic offering.

The ambience is great. Unfortunately the service is awesome. It is forbidden to smoke a cigar on the terrace, although it only bothered the cellar lady. I've never experienced anything like this anywhere. Incredible!!! Once and never again!!!! Fortunately, you are alone in your opinion that opinion polls are now being conducted on cigars. And no one ate it either! That's a fact!

I ordered the schnitzel with mushrooms and mashed potatoes, unfortunately the puree was inedible and the male waiter was super rude and unfriendly. I would never eat here again for this price. Too bad. Note: The waiter read this review and then insulted/called me an idiot. Well, what else can you say? It doesn't surprise me that there are sexist signs in this restaurant (see photo).

Great atmosphere, especially on the terrace. The food has declined significantly in recent years. The brownie for dessert was rock hard. The fried egg on the meatloaf is almost raw, Unfortunately, the portions are also getting smaller and smaller. The service was nice but not attentive, probably due to the high workload.

A little outside the center, but definitely worth a visit. Food tastes very, very tasty, just like mother's. The selection of dishes is also not everyday. Where else are there sour kidneys?😋😋😋. After tasting a whole range of different Kölsch, I have to say that I liked the Quetsch from Rodenkirchen the best. So off to the Quetsch, good food, good and friendly service and right on the Rhine. Easy to reach with the S16.

The service seems to be overwhelmed at lunchtime with three tables already occupied. You wait forever to place your order. The waiters sometimes seem to deliberately ignore you, but then they have time for pseudo-funny sayings. The restaurant used to be much better and the portions were larger. The main courses tasted good, but the desserts weren't worth it. I find two small scoops of sorbet with melon wedges and cheap spray cream for €9.40 cheeky. The crowning glory, however, was the side salad for €4.80, which was forgotten, not brought until the end after repeated requests, but then brazenly charged for. When asked about this, the waiter said it was a mistake and he hadn't looked at the bill again. However, since I have read other reviews here from guests who have had similar experiences, I get the feeling that this is a scam. You can try it. We got the money back for the side salad, but we won't be coming back.

The terrace on the Rhine side was occupied, we hadn't made a reservation. Get a table at the entrance. After 10 minutes of non-compliance by the waitress, the landlord asked for 2 Kölsch, who was annoyed. Then they moved on and there are even more nice restaurants in Cologne.

Quetsch is an authority in the corner of Cologne, you notice that when you come in. Food good, view good and service great, we'll come back again.

Great location, it's great to sit on the Rhine, the roof of the terrace can be adjusted accordingly. The view of the cathedral is a special treat. And the food and service were TOP. However, it is advisable to reserve in advance.

Wir kennen das Lokal und sind mit einer guten bis sehr guten Erfahrung aus vergangenen Jahren dahin zum Abendessen gefahren. Leider war das Essen ungenießbar. Der überbackene Blumenkohl war ungekocht und nur im Fett paniert ausgebacken. Dadurch war er hart und geschmacklos. Geschmacklos waren auch die Soße und der kleine Salat auf dem Teller. Die Kartoffeln dabei waren ungeschält. Die Reklamation wurde genervt aufgenommen. Ich bestellte daraufhin überbackenen Camembert. Da kann man nichts falsch machen, dachte ich. Jedoch kam das Essen mit einem Haufen frittierter Petersilie mit langen Stielen darüber geworfen an . Das Brot dazu war ausgetrocknet. Wir haben bezahlt und werden dort nicht mehr essen. Schade.

Today I was able to celebrate my birthday in the Quetsch. I made the reservation early. Today's reception from a smaller woman was a bit unfriendly, but the service at the table was top. The food was also good after minor adjustments. The dessert “cold and hot” was good, but one expected more ice cream for the price.

Reservations are recommended during peak times. During our visit, the waitress was kind enough to add a seat (since there were one more of us than advertised), even though we were already sitting quite close to the aisle. We were also very satisfied with the service. The food was OK, although some felt the need to add a little more seasoning. However, we found it a bit strange that another guest was allowed to smoke on the completely enclosed terrace; Luckily most of the smoke moved to another table. The description is accurate: the view of the Rhine from the terrace is quite spectacular.

A very nice address with a great view of the Rhine. Very nice service and very inviting interior. We got a seat on the very comfortable terrace even though we hadn't reserved beforehand (it was a spontaneous visit). Unfortunately the food wasn't what you would expect in such a good location. Cheap fries from the oven that could easily have been used as nails and veal schnitzel tasted more like it had been prepared hours ago and had only been warmed up briefly. When asked, I received a fresh, better portion of fries, but I had already finished my schnitzel and so this improvement was unfortunately unnecessary. We would have found the prices acceptable if everything had been right, but we wouldn't classify them as cheap. Can we now make a recommendation? ..for the beautiful view and the nice service.. definitely, yes! But only for drinking, not for eating.

You can, but you don't have to. We spontaneously decided on the restaurant in the afternoon and made a reservation online. The only stupid thing was that our table was occupied twice. Well, they at least tried to get us another table. We don't know whether it was because it was the last table or whether it was because people simply work to quantity here, but at some point no one stopped by us for drinks. After waiting 55 minutes, our main course arrived. Two out of three dishes were ok. My Wiener Schnitzel turned out not to be a Wiener Schnitzel, but rather a “Viennese style” schnitzel. I didn't order that!! I didn't want a pig. After we waited for a long time, I still tried my luck and well what can I say, it wasn't just pork, you could easily recognize it visually and by smell, it didn't even taste good. No idea where that was. The meat was almost cold and the fries were soggy. I don't have to admit that and just mentioned in passing, the price of the veal was of course on the bill... I told the waitress, she apologized and said, "Oh, I don't know what to say about that."... oh well. It was worth a try. There won't be a second time for us. The only thing that is nice is the location by the water, as long as you can sit further forward. But there are better restaurants in the surrounding area that are at least as good in location.

Over 2 hours waiting time for food

A portion of asparagus with a mini schnitzel and a small portion of fried potatoes for just under €35 is quite a deal. The accompanying “Hollandaise sauce”, which was nothing but melted butter, took it up a notch. When I pointed out that they must have made a mistake with the sauce, they responded with an eye roll that it was hollandaise sauce, so I can't have been the only one who was irritated by it. Overall very annoying for the price and the long waiting time..

Located directly on the Rhine, so with a beautiful view. The staff is relaxed, typical Cologne and courteous.

We were guests at Brauhaus Quetsch as a large group. The service was super friendly and totally sweetened our evening. The food came really quickly and tasted fantastic! The view of the Rhine from the terrace is beautiful and can be enjoyed even when it rains thanks to the roof. We'd love to come back!

We weren't greeted particularly warmly but not unfriendly either, the general service left a lot to be desired with long waiting times. I think that's normal when you're stressed or understaffed, just a small "I'm sorry you had to wait so long" would have been appropriate. The food was overall very tasty, especially the schnitzel and baked potato. Goulash was less tasty but that is sometimes the case. The view is really, really beautiful. The women's toilets were very unpleasant to use with a strong smell and dirty. If this hadn't been the case I would have given it 4 stars. It was a nice evening but not a must-do in the Cologne brewery scene :)

Die Bedienung und der Service sind generell nett und in Ordnung. Doch am essen scheitert es. Wir waren ca. 15 Leute. 4 Leute haben die Tagesempfehlung (600g Koteletts) bestellt. Der Rest hatte Schnitzel. Die Schnitzel samt Beilagen waren gut, doch leider waren 3 der Koteletts verdorben und rochen nach ein paar Minuten so schlimm, dass keiner am Tisch mehr sein essen genießen konnte. Dies wurde der Bedienung kundgetan. Es wurde sich entschuldigt und Ersatz angeboten, doch zu diesem Zeitpunkt wollte keiner mehr was essen, da es so schlimm gestunken hat. Leider ein totaler Reinfall. Außerdem wurden sämtliche Bewertungen unserer Gruppe auf Google Maps wegen Verleumdung gelöscht. Eine Frechheit. Vielleicht mal ein Fall fürs Gesundheitsamt...

Wir waren am Pfingstsonntag den 19.05.2024 mit 6 Personen im Brauhaus Quetsch. Die junge Dame als Bedienung war recht freundlich und wies uns unseren reservierten Platz zu. Die Aufnahme der Getränke und des Essens funktionierte auch tadellos. Die Vorspeise (Spargelcremesuppe) war total dickflüssig und sah aus wie Vanillepudding. Die Rindersuppe war viel zu scharf gewürzt. Die Hauptspeisen waren allesamt grenzwertig: Spargel mit Schinken (Kartoffeln waren nicht geschält - hier sollte wohl ein Arbeitsgang gespart werden) die Sauce Hollondaise war total wässrig, was an Konsistenz der Suppe zu viel war hier zu wenig. Die Soße des Sauerbratens war ungenießbar, das Alpenschnitzel war zäh und trocken, die Lachsforelle war weit über den Punkt gegart, das Gulasch war akzeptabel. Nachdem wir unsere Kritik am Essen der Kellnerin vorgetragen hatten, sicherte sie zu dies weiterzugeben. Wir hätten dann erwartet, dass der Chef oder der Koch mal den den Tisch gekommen wären und sich mit uns ausgetauscht hätten. Nichts der gleichen ist passiert. Fazit: Wir haben ca. 300 EURO ausgegeben und sind völlig enttäuscht, und uns wurde die Freude auf einen schönen Nachmittag am Rhein (die Terrasse ist wirklich schön) doch arg getrübt. Wir kommen ganz sicher nicht mehr wieder. Hier wird beim Essen gespart ohne Ende obwohl es doch recht teuer ist - fühlt sich irgendwie an wie Touristen Abzocke - an Stammkundschaft ist dieses Brauhaus offensichtlich nicht interessiert. Insgesamt macht dieses Brauhaus auch einen sehr unaufgeräumten und schmuddeligen Eindruck.

Great shop with the best terrace! Delicious food, great staff, everything clean! You can go there anytime, summer or winter. We've had cool parties there and there's always a spontaneous spot available. Keep it up….! 👍🏼

We were here today with our two children. We always enjoy coming back, and have been for many years. There is an extra menu for the Pänz and the service was very friendly! At the end there was even a little surprise from the owner 🤗The kids were allowed to choose an ice cream! We absolutely cannot confirm the bad reviews (which, strangely enough, were all written yesterday 🤔)! The food was always fresh and well prepared! We would definitely like to come back 🤗🙂

This is an outstanding restaurant we’re visiting from USA Today we rode here on our bicycles and had a great meal and ice cold beer. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was also very good.

Rather high-priced restaurant with an outdoor terrace. The menu is manageable and offers the expected drinks as well as home-style dishes. The service was attentive and mostly quick, the food was good. It was a bit of a shame that on such a beautiful day the roof was constantly being opened and closed again and so we were always sitting in the shade. What didn't work was that we had to vacate our table later in the afternoon because it was reserved. This can and must be communicated differently. So we decided not to have any more drinks and dinner in the Quetsch. It's a shame, it had been a successful day up until then. Optimistic four stars.

A beautiful restaurant right on the Rhine with friendly staff. The menu is small, but everyone can find something tasty here. A nice place to end the day well.

The three of us were at Brauhaus Quetsch on a Friday evening. The restaurant was half full. The waitress was friendly. However, we had to wait over an hour for our food. The potatoes with the asparagus were cold. In over three hours of stay, we were only able to reorder drinks twice, for which we had to wait a long time. Towards the end there were only four tables left, but the last drink was still forgotten. The food (burger €20) is too expensive for this service. We won't be coming back

Very nice outdoor area with a view of the Rhine. The interior is also pleasing. For the starter we chose bread with three different dips including extra bread. Unfortunately, the extra bread arrived late with the normal portion of bread and dips, so we had already eaten the dips before the extra portion arrived, assuming that it was the bread. We also decided on the Königsforstschnitzel and the El Quetschos Currywurst. We were disappointed in the taste of both the fries and the schnitzel, and especially the mushroom sauce. The curry sauce, on the other hand, has a very good consistency and a great taste. The service team will certainly perform well for the season. We found “Köbe’s” jokes less appropriate. Even if I give an average rating here, the owner seems to be a very good host.

Very nice staff! I had a 500g steak with a very tasty pepper sauce. Plus perfectly prepared champions and salad! My wishes were taken into account and I thought that was great. Will definitely come back. Thank you!

Brauhaus with a very beautiful terrace overlooking the Rhine River. One of the good Brauhaus options from Rodenkirchen. The food is varied and tastes average. Couldn't order Kölschr quickly enough.

We came here at lunchtime on March 18, 2024 with 6 people. And we were ALL very affected by the unfriendliness of the service! The menu portions were generous, but one of the pancake/minced meat dishes was only lukewarm. And: The double espresso I ordered cost 5.60 euros (!!!) For comparison: yesterday in the Flora Restaurant in the outdoor dining area, the double espresso cost 3.80 euros! With all understanding for increased prices, but 5.60 euros is definitely TOO MUCH! There were TWO digital menus available for 6 of us - impossible... 04/27/24: my response to the reaction from Brauhaus Quetsch: Nice of you to apologize! As for the unfriendliness/overwork (?) of the waitress: The brewery was about 1/3 full at the time! In this respect... But still: apology received and accepted!

The restaurant is nice and traditional. Unfortunately, they have also switched to making the menu available only as a QR code. If you have guests over 80 years old, that's not right at all. If you ask, you will receive a ticket for a 4-person table. We all find this unhospitable and, especially in a brewery, a menu should not be missed. Tradition obliges and can even be used as a marketing tool. Others are doing it. The taste of the food was mediocre. Bratwurst okay, sauerbraten good, dumplings but no taste and lukewarm. The goulash was probably the best. Service short but quick.

Today we were eating on the terrace as a family and unfortunately we got into a very unpleasant situation. There was a lot of smoking at the neighboring table, even though most of the tables were eating. After the staff was asked if that was ok, they only pointed out in a very rude manner that we were sitting on the terrace and smoking was allowed there. I didn't book a smoking area...what a disgrace. As if that wasn't enough trouble, we also waited an hour for the food, which was very tasty. A little tip, more vegetarian food on the menu would be advisable.

We went to the Quetsch brewery as a family. We received a very friendly welcome and were served in an equally friendly and courteous manner. Everyone enjoyed the food very much. The location right on the banks of the Rhine is really great. On the terrace you can wonderfully watch the hustle and bustle on the Rhine. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately I've only been there once so far. I liked it very well!
