Ahoi Steffen Henssler Kiel in Kiel

Very nice view of the fjord, very friendly service! But I was more than disappointed with the food! I had ordered a rump steak for 29 euros. I had ordered the steak medium, but it arrived well done and hard. I then complained. Then another piece of meat was served more or less medium done. Unfortunately, it was still tough and dry. The size of the steak was quite small in both cases. The butter did not seem fresh, but tasted like it had been stored for a long time. Unfortunately, it was not a rump steak either, but a simple sirloin steak of poor quality, which can quickly become dry. The thin potato pancakes from the deep fryer were also dry and hard, the kind you can buy for little money at a discount store and then be annoyed about your purchase. They tasted of nothing. The salad was OK. A huge disappointment for the still high price of 29 euros! The chef needs to practice more or the quality of the product must be much better. The only good thing about the visit was the beautiful view of the fjord. I will not visit this restaurant again. It is actually absurd that they advertise a celebrity chef and then serve such disappointing food.

We had a delicious meal there today. Very friendly staff. Great view of the water. Great atmosphere. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

We had something to do in Kiel again and decided to go to Ahoi again. We've been there before and it was great. You are always greeted very friendly here. This time we wanted rump steak and the veggie burger. The burger doesn't have such a terrible plant patty, but rather great cucumbers with a delicious crunch and other great vegetables on top. The fries are delicious and fried to perfection. I wanted the steak rare. Unfortunately that didn't work. But our waiter Gölkay was very friendly and accommodating and we got a new Staek. That was perfect for me. It really tasted very good and the salad and small potatoes were also very good. Henssler's sauces are absolutely great and a real treat. What I particularly like is that the food comes to the table hot. If you would like to enjoy very good food, Steffen Henssler's "Ahoi" is in good hands. P.S. There is always a great smell in the toilets, very clean and we bought the soap there ourselves. ☺️ Conclusion: Very satisfied, perfect landing.

Super cozy and modern restaurant with a modern industrial atmosphere. Well selected card. There should be something for everyone. Reservation in advance is recommended.

Been there once and it was good, long wait until the food came then unfortunately it was cold (burger and fries) the taste was okay, we also had a steak that was supposed to be medium but was completely burnt, the salad only tasted like dressing, which was with it soaked. We left 110 euros with 2 people but unfortunately I have to say it is not our first place to go out for a nice meal. Furthermore, the tables have seen better days. The service was always friendly and helpful.

Wir waren alle das erste Mal im Ahoi. Wahl getroffen, weil für jeden Geschmack, von Groß bis Klein, etwas zu finden ist. Sehr lecker. Tolle Geschmacksvarianten. Direkter Blick auf das Wasser und die Schiffe. Wir waren mit sechs Personen dort. Alle waren zufrieden. Wir kommen gern wieder. Danke für den schönen Abend

Staff and food are excellent. It's a shame that the person who gave it its name has never set foot in this restaurant and is therefore adorning himself with someone else's feathers. Many guests expect to see him there. Too bad!

A very nice restaurant. The food was quite tasty, very solid and well made. But the service far exceeded this. I was served by a very friendly waiter who always had a perfect view of me and other tables. I had the feeling that he simply looked at some of my wishes. Really great.

Ich hatte eine Kerze gewünscht und Geburtstag angegeben, der Tisch war an der durchgangstreppe und wäre auch so den ganzen Abend geblieben, alle Fensterplätze leer und es kam in 1 Stunde und 30 Minuten auch kaum eine andere gästeschar auf die schönen Plätze , ich hatte sozusagen von Anfang an im Lokal den schlechtesten Platz , gehabt wenn ich nicht umgezogen wäre. Dann sagte man mir vor Umzug auf Fensterplatz dass selbe wie schon in dieser reservierungsapp…dass eh nur 1 Stunde und 30 Minuten erlaubt sind…das wussten wir bereits aus der gestrengen reservierungs App…nicht neu…es folgte danach keine weitere Erwähnung meines Geburtstages oder Kerze, dass ich mich umgesetzt hatte war dann. Wohl das Geschenk und extra , na toll, der Lachs sah aus weiß wie eine Leiche und gedünstet nicht gegrillt oder kaltes Hähnchen. Er musste die Soße haben um Geschmack zu entwickeln, der Rest Kartoffeln , hatte etwas zu wenig Creme , sourcreme geizig, der Kellner dachte jeder schrimp extra kostet 2,50….stimmte nicht, kleines dingelchen für 3 Euro pro Stück mehr…das Ambiente war bitterkalt ich as mein Essen im Mantel. Es war ein daunenmantel…keine Heizung an neben mir. Die App hatte so getan als wäre der Laden rappelvoll und alle Plätze fast frei, aber ich als Geburtstagskind ohne Kerze und ohne Gratulation erst noch auf dem übelsten Durchgang den alle Kellner immer rauf und runter müssen und dienächszen zum Klo und hin…ich bin total enttäuscht, ichwar hinterher froh im Auto zu sein da war es sogar wärmer. Die dort saßen hatten alle hoodies an und wollpullover, Strickjacken, wussten wohl Bescheid. Nichts zum Geburtstag trotz Vermerk in App…wozu hat man dann die App frage ich mich, wenn sich eh keiner drum kümmert was drinsteht. Personal wirkte desinteressiert. Früher Kieler Yachtclub war schöner im Ambiente. Nur etwas to Go und Sommer, schnelle Nummer schnelles Geld, brauchbare Qualität aber ohne Seele.nicht mal sauberer Tisch, keiner zuständig…war wohl unter Niveau des Personals….

Beim Service ist noch Luft nach oben. Dessert und Kaffee hätte ich gerne zusammen genossen.

Good menu, typical Henssler, at acceptable prices

The tuna got cold quickly because the plate was ice cold and the sauce with the potatoes had a strange taste. The service was a bit shy.

The food came very quickly. It wasn't quite warm and the taste was better in Otterndorf.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und angenehm- aber das Essen war nur mittelmäßig- ich koche leckerer und ausgefallener und ich bin nicht berühmt für meine Kochkünste. Zum Sitzen war es sehr ungemütlich weil es so kalt war. Wir haben gefroren und sind deshalb recht früh gegangen und haben den Kaffee lieber zu Hause im Warmen getrunken.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, wir hatten Lachs und Ente. Etwas mehr Soße für die Ente wäre perfekt gewesen, geschmacklich alles sehr gut! Der Service war klasse, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam!

Wir hatten heute sehr gutes Essen. Es gab absolut nichts zu meckern, ich hatte knusprige Ente mit Rotkohl und mein Mann ein Rumpsteak mit Pommes und einem super frischen knackigen Salat. Sehr zu empfehlen 👍

Were there for a birthday dinner with 6 people. All guests who came to the restaurant after us received their food before us. We were only served our food when we asked. The rump steak was prepared incorrectly twice and was ordered medium rare. 1x too well done, 1x slightly burnt on the outside, partly medium rare to rare on the inside. It's a shame about the meat, although in my opinion the stated weight of 200g was not reached. Also looked a little lost on the large plate, which added to the impression. The side dish remained at the table until the second delivery, meaning: either eat food combining or wait and then enjoy the side dish lukewarm. Two burgers were only half warm. The Henssler dressing for the salad was not very tasty or could hardly be tasted. The Henssler style fries shared the same fate. The bowl was rated as good in terms of taste. I found the tuna starter to be very tasty and recommended. Service: well, the child had probably already gotten into the hole by being brought in late. It's also strange when the customer has to ask the waiter about his food. Unfortunately, this continued, with little attention due to the complaint. The fried piece of meat remained right in front of me instead of being cleared away. It wasn't nice to look at. Empty tables next to us were cleared away. Not exactly a sign of attention either. The reservation was made by a child of ours who eats out very regularly and suggested this restaurant. So we were looking forward to a nice dinner as a family. But there was no joy because the problems simply overshadowed it too much, it was a shame for the precious evening. I had to speak to the waitress twice about the bill. First of all, to make it clear from the start that invoicing is not acceptable to me. This was also complied with. The second time I had to ask for the bill itself without being asked again if we would like anything else. In terms of service, it's really at the bottom of the range. Afterwards I read that the concept is called casual dining. I find serving to be too casual; serving could be a bit more enjoyable than serving. We liked that even though it was very crowded, the volume was comparatively low. All in all it was a very disappointing visit. I hope everyone has better luck and a better day.

We ate at Ahoi for two shortly before Christmas. Reserved online at short notice - everything worked out great. Service was very frequent. We had a vegetarian Christmas 3 course menu and were happy with it.

Tolles Konzept, gute Küche. Service eher mäßig und nicht wirklich umsorgend und dafür zu hochpreisig.

Ich war nun das 2. Mal dort. Alles in allem wieder mal sehr schön. Kritik habe ich nur leicht. Die Tische hätten sauberer sein dürfen und die Toiletten auch. Essen und Service jedoch waren super

Very nice service! At ahoi you know what you are getting, so the service and the ambience are important. The location on the fjord is of course great, and we were warmly welcomed (even with a dog) and served.

Wir hatten reserviert und einen super Platz am Fenster. Auch wenn man im Januar bei Dunkelheit nicht vuel von draußen sieht. Sehr leckere Speisen zu einem guten Preis. Der Service ist nett und freundlich, könnte aber manchmal etwas schneller und aufmerksamer sein.

Wir waren am 31.12.24 im Lokal, könnten uns einen Tisch aussuchen, wurden sehr nett empfangen und auch die Bestellung und das Essen waren schnell erledigt. Leider mussten wir das Lachsgericht zurück geben, da dieser innen komplett roh war. Wir wählten auf Anraten vom Personal ein anderes Gericht. Bei der Abrechnung wurde uns ein Gericht nicht berechnet was wir mehr als fair fanden. Alles in allem fanden wir es sehr angenehm vor Ort, wobei bei den Getränken mehr Aufmerksamkeit sein sollte, da wir erst mit der Rechnungsbitte nach einem zweiten Getränk gefragt worden. Das Ahoi Steffen Hennsler in Kiel hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente und liegt direkt am Hafen. Sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Reservierung mit Hund war gar kein Problem. Das Personal hat sich sehr um ältere, eingeschränkte Gäste gekümmert. Wir kommen beim nächsten Besuch in Kiel gerne wieder.

Super Location nette und lustige Bedienung und Angestellte . Dort geht Mann gerne hin.

Essen (Bowls) war sehr gut. Leider kamen die Cocktails, der Wein und das Essen fast gleichzeitig. Hier muss mehr Abstimmung erfolgen. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aber personell unterbesetzt.

Netter Aufenthalt, sehr freundliche Bedienung und das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir waren zu sechst und alle waren sehr zufrieden! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Essen war super, die Bedienung war freundlich, das Ambiente hat mir sehr gefallen, nur war mir sehr kalt. Also lieber etwas dickeres anziehen, dann ist es top.

It was our first time eating at Ahoi. The service was friendly and very quick. The restaurant is comfortably furnished. The food was really very good. The burgers were delicious and juicy, and the schnitzel was one of the best pork schnitzels I have eaten. The Henssler style fries are highly recommended. For dessert, a scoop of ice cream on delicious sprinkles. It's worth it!

Wir mögen das Essen, besonders die Teryaki -Bowl. Super lecker und gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Im Sommer ein wunderschöner Blick auf die Förde.

I wanted to eat cake there today and happened to notice that they only serve thawed cake as they don't bake it themselves. The employee there confirmed this to me after I asked. Even if they don't bake themselves, they could work with a pastry shop so that fresh cakes can be served. I expect it in general and especially if the location has a well-known name. I left without ordering anything.

Unacceptable. We were looking forward to a lovely Christmas dinner on Boxing Day. Unfortunately the side dish from the Christmas menu (dumplings) was missing. It can happen 🙄 ... At least there were two tablespoons of red cabbage with the duck. Unfortunately it was cold. The carbon dioxide in the Aperol was stale. After the wrong drink was brought, the wrong dessert was also brought. This can sometimes happen with 4-5 occupied tables and a full staff. Unfortunately you didn't see much of it at the table. Fortunately, when we said goodbye, we were able to say goodbye to all the staff again. At the counter. Because that's where the majority of the staff could be found. You have a lot to tell each other at Christmas... Something like that can happen... 🤷🏼‍♀️ I chose Ahoi because I didn't want to have to deal with bad staff or bad food at Christmas. I got both. I bet on the name for Christmas and was completely disappointed. There's only one thing left for me to say: AHOY!

Only the location of the restaurant (at the yacht club) and the name under the Ahoy are not enough to justify succinct fries and a burger with highly processed substitute meat (original meat was no longer available) and an untoasted bun from the supermarket for almost €20 and among the vain people (I eat at Henssler!). On top of that, tap water for €5 in a milk bottle covered in fingerprints... the chip shop around the corner can do that for less. A slap in the face for every chef who doesn't use convenience products...

Obwohl der Laden relativ leer war , wurden wir vom Service kaum beachtet . Wir hätten auf jeden Fall mehr ausgegeben.

Wir hatten das Rumpsteak war nicht sehr gut. Es hatte weder einen Fettrand noch war es Medium gebraten. Leider hat uns das Essen nicht überzeugt. Das Service Personal war freundlich und zuvorkommend.

I was here for the first time today and my initial skepticism based on the reviews on Google was completely refuted. But now first things first: we were able to spontaneously reserve a table on a Friday evening and were given a very warm welcome. There wasn't much going on yet and we were able to order and receive drinks very quickly. The dishes I ordered came very quickly and my Crispy Shrimp Bowl was not only attractively presented, but also tasted as good as it looked! Really highly recommended! And the portion was so big that I unfortunately had to put some rice back because I was more than full. The service was friendly, not intrusive and you always felt welcome as a guest. If I didn't live so far away, I would definitely come more often!

Wir mussten auf alles sehr lang warten. Ein Essen wurde komplett vergessen. Wir saßen 1 1/2 std vor leeren Gläsern, hatten also nur ein Getränk. Das Servicepersonal war super nett nur leider unaufmerksam. Das Zusammenspiel von Küche und Service lief leider nicht rund.

Es war ein sehr schöner Abend mit Freundinen . Das Essen incl. Nachtisch war sehr lecker . Die weihnachtliche deko hat den Abend zu einem schönen Ende gemacht . Vielen Dank

Das Essen war ok, auch wenn es keine glutenfreie Alternative zum Burgerbrötchen gab. Das Bier war alle! In einem Restaurant um 18.30 Uhr gab es kein Bier mehr!!! Die Tischlampe war nicht mehr geladen, es gab auch keinen Ersatz dafür. Alles zusammen genommen ist unser Fazit: Wir kommen nicht wieder. Schade.

Yesterday I was at Ahoi for the first time with a few friends. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Personally, it was too loud for me to have a conversation. The food was ok. I would have fish and chips. The remoulade was too thin and not enough for me, I thought the fries were frozen. The fish was OK.

The service and the food was outstanding! I loved the stylish maritime decoration! Definitely coming back for the shrimp and chips! Simin was extraordinary in making us have a great experience.

Oh well! We were wondering why we still got a table for 10 people at 6 p.m. on Friday evening. There wasn't much going on. On the one hand, it could simply have been because of the day or or or. The burger for €20 with molded meat paddy is really a hit. That's how it tasted too. There are even better burgers in Kiel. The service was also good, we had to ask several times about the drinks that were provided. I think that was the last time. There are better restaurants there.

The restaurant is okay. We lacked comfort and it was very cold. The service staff did a great job despite the restaurant being very full. We ate fish and chips and beef burgers. The dishes are okay but not a highlight.

We would have expected much more for the price. Tiramisu was obviously convenience, thawed but still partially frozen. (And €7.50 for that!!!) The burger was okay, but bland. The brioche bun was no longer fresh either. Tuna sashimi was actually very tasty - unfortunately the tuna was very stringy. The service wasn't really motivated either. All in all quite disappointing for the price.

Good morning. Food was really very good. We had a rump steak and a chicken bowl. Both great. Service also good. Gin and tonic at a higher price, with the second one the bartender thought it was a little too good, so we needed another bottle of tonic ;). Neon lights are a bit annoying and the lighting could be a bit darker in the evenings. But that is personal feeling. I would come back.

It's a shame - unfortunately we expected more. Unfortunately, it looks quite dingy inside. The food was ok, but we expected more. The highlight was the tomato soup. For the main course we had 2x burgers, a bowl and once fish & chips. The burgers with fries were a disappointment in terms of taste. The bun was particularly disappointing. The bowl looked very good and was well received. All in all, like a snack bar on the beach - but not enough for the price. We won't come back

Tolle Lage mit Blick auf die Kieler Förde. Klasse Service, echt vorbildlich, super freundlich, Bestellungen wurden schnell aufgenommen, das Essen zügig serviert.

Wir waren mit 4 Personen zum Abendessen dort. Wir hatten verschiedene Burger, Fisch und Salate. Alles war wirklich sehr lecker. Das Personal war überaus freundlich. Wir werden bestimmt wiederkommen.

Wir haben auf der Speisekarte mehr Fischgerichte erwartet. Der Burger war mittelmäßig, habe ich schon sehr viel bessere gegessen. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. Statt normale Pommes habe ich Süßkartoffel Pommes genommen.... 4,50 € Aufpreis!

So wie ich es bei Hensler kenne, bestes Personal, immer gut gelaunt. Essen perfekt

Das Essen war sehr lecker, wir hatten 2 Bowls. Die Wartezeit war auch sehr gut. Das Ambiente ist recht unerwartet, aber wahrscheinlich modern. Unsere Servicekraft war nett.

We had two salads, both of which tasted good, but instead of 2 small ones there could have been 4 skewers... oh well. The sweet potato fries filled me up. It was a shame that there was no dark beer from the barrel, as offered on the menu. It's nice to sit at the large window with a view of the ships. Ambiance was good. And the service was attentive and friendly despite changing the cash register system. Our conclusion: you can do it, but you don't have to

We were very disappointed. It looked dingy and run down. How can you mess up a location like that? The food was mediocre. The service was very nice and quick, but it was generally reminiscent of a student bar. Very, very unfortunate. This address doesn't deserve that.

We made a reservation online on the same day without any problem. The food came very quickly and was really good. The staff was very nice and was also able to provide good information about the ingredients because of my allergies. Overall, a nice evening.

I was in the restaurant on September 29th, 2024 between 3:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Unfortunately, this time the experience was anything but pleasant. The older lady who served us was extremely rude and made us feel like we weren't welcome. This was the second time I was served by her and both times the experience was really disappointing. You don't feel like ordering anything else or staying longer when you feel so unwanted. I've been here several times and the younger waiters are really friendly, which is what keeps me coming back. While the food isn't anything earth-shattering, it's solid and good enough to come back again. Unfortunately, the tables have now aged quite a bit. It's a shame that the service is so negatively influenced by individual people. Maybe it's worth a little improvement here - both in terms of manners and in the furnishings.

Went there with 4 girls in the best weather. So the food and service were excellent, I love the Asian touch of the dishes. The only thing that was negative was that the floor was pretty dirty (we had a nice table right by the window at 12:30 p.m.), and the paint on the window sills was already chipping off. Some guests didn't want to use the Dyson hand dryer in the toilet and resorted to toilet paper. Since there was no trash can under the sink, people simply piled up the used paper in a corner on the sink. This was a bit unsavory but easy to fix, just put a trash can down. The paint/wallpaper is also partially crumbling from the walls in the toilets. This somewhat spoiled the otherwise beautiful ambience. As I said, food and service A1.

View of the sea and the food really looks like the pictures and tastes fantastic too 🤤 Will definitely come back if we are in Kiel again. However, not all of the dishes that have been posted here online by others are currently on the menu.

When the weather is good, there is a great view of the fjord.

Es hat uns sehr gefallen, das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich. Essen war sehr gut und passt zu dem Preis. (2 Personen Hauptgericht 4 Getränke 80€ mit Trinkgeld) wir werden auf jedenfall wieder kommen.

We had reserved for 6 p.m. and were able to get one of the coveted window seats. The table was quickly prepared by the very friendly staff and we were able to order. Despite the restaurant being full, all the food and drinks we ordered came very quickly. We enjoyed everything. The Hensler style fries were something completely different, unfortunately not all of the fries survived the time they spent in the dressing. And let's be honest, the table tops have had it for a while. The veneer is already coming off. And that's not shabby chic. But a visit is definitely worth it.

We thought, let's go to Henssler, he's on TV... Yeah, it wasn't really good then... Starting with the parking lot. You could park at the Kiel Yacht Club, but it would cost €5. And despite ringing the bell several times, the barrier at reception was not opened. So park on the side of the road. In the restaurant we were greeted by the smell of a snack bar... slightly greasy and smelling of food. The furnishings are also very cheap and not really appealing. Then we ordered a coke and an Alster/Radler. We got Cola & Pils. But that was changed very quickly. And as a "pre-snack" there was a cup of salted popcorn... sticky and extremely salty... We ordered 2 burgers for dinner. The Crunchy Chicken (€18.50) & the Terryaki Burger (€20.50) each with fries. The food arrived lukewarm to cold. The chicken only occupied half the burger bun. The beef burger was about 3cm smaller than the bun and I didn't like the Terryaki at all. As “compensation” for the cold meal, we got a free dessert and an espresso. Warm chocolate cake on a scoop of vanilla ice cream with red jelly. (€9.50 original) None of it was homemade and tasted accordingly. The cake tasted like semolina and the ice cream... at Penny you can get better... Conclusion: If you give your “good name” to it, then you should also make sure that the cuisine and the ambience are right. We definitely won't go there anymore.

Chicken burgers. You had to look for the paddy in the bun. Small and cold and for just under 20 euros. The fries were so semi and only slightly warm. The popcorn was cold and soggy. The dessert, a chocolate cake not much larger than 5 cm in diameter and tasted more like semolina pudding than chocolate cake. A proud 9.50 euros! This is a bad joke. It's not possible what you're given and for so much money. I'm horrified.

Cold chips with fish and chips and a lukewarm burger with cold chips was not a good experience. After asking, we got the new Fritz fries, but we had already eaten the fish and the burger. Overall, unfortunately, a disappointing experience

Rotkohl zum Lachs sagt wohl alles. Viel zu viel Dressing. Mein Gast war auch nicht begeistert. Ambiente wie eine Cafeteria. Der Preis war okay.

Bedienung sehr Lehrerhaftes Verhalten fand ich nicht so schön ging nicht auf den Gast ein sondern wollte belehrend sein,sehr vorlaut! Essen Qualität sehr gut bis durchschnittlich ! Warmes alkoholfreies Weizen Bier ! Schade war schon mal da war um längen besser! Habe trotzdem 10€ Trinkgeld gegeben! Ohne berechtigte Mängel wäre das doppelt Trinkgeld drin gewesen !

Very tasty food with a good selection. I had a tuna bowl that was prepared with various ingredients. Of course tuna made from fried tuna sashimi, fried medium, teriyaki sauce, chili cream spicy but not hot with hot sesame which I didn't find spicy either, which in combination was a great experience. The whole thing on rice with other delicious ingredients (picture). You have to like the butter foam, you can also leave it out (an extra four euros is a bit steep). The amount of bowl was just right. Price performance great. Nice service right on DU. Outdoor space with beautiful views of the water. Too noisy inside. The bowls contain high-quality ingredients that, in terms of taste, add up to a great eating experience. So can only be recommended. The lemonades are also really tasty. Nice staff. Some tables (dark surface) are not attractive because the edges of the glasses are visible.

I have been coming to this restaurant every year with my family, eagerly anticipating their delicious fish dishes. However, today's visit was nothing short of a bad one, all thanks to an unbelievably rude waiter who completely ruined our experience. It's very unfortunate that the waiter thinks they're entitled to treating people very rudely. From the moment we sat down, his attitude was hostile. He made us feel unwelcome, restricted us to a specific area as if we were a bother, and spoke to us as if we were beneath him. When we politely asked for clarification, he condescendingly suggested that we simply didn't understand. This level of unprofessionalism from someone who should be enhancing the dining experience is absolutely unacceptable. We eventually decided to leave. I sincerely hope the management addresses this, as no customer should ever be made to feel the way we did today.
