We became aware of the restaurant because of a voucher booklet and wanted to try it out. Of the many dishes on the menu, only 3 were actually available. We chose the national dish. It was so incredibly spicy that it was inedible (and I actually like spicy food). A note about this in the menu would have been helpful. The waitress forgot to serve some of the food and only delivered it when asked. It was uncomfortably cold in the restaurant, and the guests at the neighboring table were also freezing. The service was poor, inattentive and slow. Very long waiting time despite fewer tables. The prices are overpriced. Price-performance doesn't fit. Card payment is apparently not possible (but there is no information about this when you enter). Overall massively disappointing.

The food is warmed up and served it is not freshly cooked. Service woman was unfriendly as I am the neighboring country clearly said she was racist. I had two orders for 48 euros and on top of that she made me pay for a plastic one. Disrespectful, we are not in your homeland in Germany

On a Sunday at lunchtime we were the only guests in the small restaurant, which only has a few tables. Unfortunately the room was not heated and it was uncomfortably cold. The lady who served us and cooked for us was friendly and told us a few details about the Ethiopian flatbread. Many main dishes include lamb or beef on the menu, but unfortunately there was no lamb. My meal (beef with onions and peppers) was good, but very meat-heavy with very few vegetables. My companion's meal (beef with potatoes and carrots in a mild sauce) was hardly seasoned, consisted almost entirely of potatoes and you had to look for the meat. The mocha after the meal was fine and had a great aroma. Unfortunately, compared to Blue Nile, the visit to the restaurant was rather disappointing.

The food was tasty but unfortunately not enough. You have to wait at least an hour and it was Monday evening. However, around 7:30 p.m. a man showed up who we had no idea who he was, but he still started serving the visitors. You can certainly do better. It's a shame, I really wanted this cuisine.

A nice concept in itself, but if you don't want to wait less than 2 hours for your food, you shouldn't eat here. The food wasn't our cup of tea either. Which doesn't mean that others can't enjoy it.

We made a reservation online for Sunday lunch a week in advance, but the restaurant was closed for the appointment. We stood in front of locked doors and no one answered the phone. It's a shame and really disappointing.

We wanted to give the restaurant a try despite the bad reviews because I wanted to eat Ethiopian food again and the prices were me Passing seemed fair. However, the prices in the showcase in front of the restaurant are far lower than those on the menu at the table. There were two of us there today. My first time eating Ethiopian food. You immediately feel welcome in this small but fine restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. Since we were very curious, we each ordered 2 main courses. I had a spicy goat dish and a beef/lamb dish with peppers. Delicious!! We ate Ethiopian style which was a lot of fun. Of course there are also knives and forks. I can only warmly recommend this small restaurant

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other comments. The prices are very high for the portion size. I find a starter for 10 EUR that only consists of a small pile of couscous/rice, plus a little cream cheese and canned beans, very steep. Even after the main course I was still hungry. The taste was good, but I don't want to leave the restaurant hungry when you pay 30 EUR per person.

Small restaurant with a very friendly and committed boss who freshly prepares the food herself. I don't know Ethiopian cuisine and don't know if it is authentic. But I enjoyed it very much. Some were spicy, some were not spicy at all. Even if the portions didn't look so generous at first glance, it was still more than expected. So gladly again.

I even get a liver loaf roll sold with more enthusiasm in Munich. The meal went like this, 3 x 1 cm cubes of meat for around 16 euros is quite sporty, especially when a fly at the next table gets the rest of the sugar for free. It all sounds pretty harsh, but it's just well-intentioned advice. Operational blindness has set in here.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Food will take a while to be cooked. The portions are small, for example only two pieces of chicken in the dish. One may need appetizers or more than one dish. Food is served with Ethiopian bread.

Achtung Kabel eins abzocke, Ich war mit meine freundin da alles war schlechter war noch das wir nach dem essen richtig Bauchschmerzen gehabt haben außerdem ist zu teuer, Liber für 6€ Döner essen gehen oder wo anders probieren.

Die Leute sind super nett 👍 und das Essen schmeckt gut.😋 Leider sind die Portionen sehr klein 🤏 und die Preise vergleichen mit anderen afrikanischen Restaurants etwas höher. Spezi hat nach Freeway geschmeckt. Mein Tipp an die Inhaber. Portionen etwas größer machen und bei den Getränken nicht unbedingt ein Freeway Spezi anbieten sondern ein Paulaner zum Beispiel. Dann würde es auch 5 Sterne geben. Die höheren Preise wären dann auch kein Problem mehr.

Schön eingerichtetes Restaurant! Man fühlt sich wie in der Küche zu Hause. Alles Speisen werden in der offenen Küche gekocht!

The food is good and freshly prepared. I was craving for Ethiopean food and we could book last min place here. It being a weekday was an advanyage. The hosts are friendly and give good suggestions. We liked the taste and the service.

1. Viel zu teuer 2. Falsche Lockpreise auf Website 3. Super schlechter Service 4. Schlecht vorbereitet/wenig vorhanden 5. Wenige Zutaten, nicht mehr wie auf den Fotos hier! 6. Schlechte Qualität 7. Abzocke bei Getränken 1.+2. Im Internet sahen die Preise fair aus. Auf der echten Speisekarte dann alles 3-4 Euro mehr! Wieder dieses typische BETRUGSMASCHE: Preise im Internet günstig lassen, im Laden kräftig erhöhen und die dummen Gäste zahlen ja eh, wenn sie schon mal da sind! 3. Beim Betreten des Restaurants blieb die Besitzerin, die uns keines Blickes würdigte, telefonierend draussen sitzen. Dann kam sie irgendwann rein und telefonierte drinnen weiter, gab uns telefonierend (noch immer kein Blick oder Begrüßung) die Karte und telefonierte noch eine Weile weiter. Wir waren Donnerstag um 18:30 die einzigen Gäste. 4.+5. auf der Website ploppt sogar ein Fenster auf, dass sagt "Wir haben jetzt Ziegenfleisch". Mein Mann freute sich sehr drauf. Leider war es dann komplett aus. Es gab nur Rind und Huhn. Mein Hühnergericht, dass auf der Speisekarte von Wolt und hier in den Reviews auf Fotos wirklich super aussah (Fladen mit Hühnerfleisch in Soße, mehrere Kleckse Frischkäse, 3 Eierhälften, Gurkenscheiben), sah einfach nur traurig aus: 1(!) Klecks Frischkäse (er war lecker, aber lächerlich wenig), keine Gurken und es hieß: "Die Eier koch ich gerade noch!" Nach 20 Minuten (!) fragte ich: "Ich bin gleich fertig. Wann kommen die Eier?", sagte sie: "Die kochen noch!" Ich: "Eier müssen doch nicht 20 minuten kochen!" Sie: "Doch, die sind noch nicht fertig!" Ich: "Dann müssen Sie es anders timen und DAVOR kochen!" Sie: "Ich hatte keine gekochten Eier mehr." Ich "Dann schauen Sie VOR Öffnung des Ladens nach, ob Sie noch Eier haben. Geben Sie mir jetzt einfach die Eier, die sind sicher fertig!" Sie servierte dann 1 Ei mit den Worten "Es ist noch nicht fertig. Deutsche können die Eier vielleich roh essen, wir essen es hart!" NATÜRLICH war das ei nach 20 Minuten komplett hart, meine Fresse! 6. Ob der Geschmack typisch traditionel war, kann ich nicht sagen. Für mich schmeckte alles nach Gemüseeintopf, wenn ich alles zusammenschmeisse und mit Tomaten aus der Dose mische. Die Qualität war aber schlecht. Mein Freund spuckte jedes Flesichstück wieder aus, weil er es nicht beissen konnte. Ich hatte billiges Hühnechn (keine Brust) mit Knochen. Die Flasen schmeckten extermst sauer. Weiss nicht, ob die so gehören. Bei der schlechten Vorbereitung denke ich mittlerweile, dass einfach was Abgelaufenes verwendet wurde. 7. Es gab keine große Flasche Wasser, so dass wir 2 einzelne Wasser für 3,70 pro Stück bestellen mussten. Das stille Wasser kostet sogar 10 mehr, obwohl es wahrscheinlich einfach nur aus der Leitung kommt. POSITIV: Schönes Ambiente und man bekommt einen Tisch ohne Reservierung, da NIEMAND kam in der Stunde zwischen 18:30-19:30. LEIDER NICHT EMPFEHLENSWERT.

Wir haben dieses Restaurant über den Schlemmerblock (Gutscheinbuch) gefunden. Im Vergleich mit einem anderen äthiopischen Restaurant in München waren die Gerichte sehr eintönig (nur Fleisch ohne Beilage, z.B. Gemüse). Dafür war es deutlich zu teuer. Der Service ließ auch zu Wünschen übrig. Die Vorspeise wurde vergessen. Bei der Bestellung eines weiteren Getränks wurde mein erstes Glas erneut verwendet. Das Ambiente wurde durch einen großen Fernseher gestört, der einschläfernde Musik abspielte. Ich kann das Restaurant also nicht weiter empfehlen.

Personal ist freundlich. Etwas chaotisch organisiert. Die Vorspeise kam gleichzeitig mit dem Hauptgericht. Das Gericht war mir geschmacklich zu deutsch.

Schon das das Restaurant Offen hat Denn hier sind Speise und Getränke wie in Ethiopia ,besonder Beyayntu ,wir haben mit meine Frunde Tibs , Doro Fleischsauce gegessen!!! Tips es war wie Ethiopia .(realy like in Ethiopia )

the restaurant is small and cozy and the server is extremely friendly and sweet, one extra star just for him. he will explain you the food as well as how to eat it. the Ethiopian Cuisine is a very good change from the usual cuisines we try in Munich. Its very tasty and healthy too. its gluten free grain and high on protein. I would definitely go here again.

Finally a place with really good, 100% Teff-Injera, which they make *fresh* and from scratch. Even though the portions are on the smaller side, compared to other ethiopian places, the flavours are exquisite and you can tell the love that goes into cooking the food.

Tolles Essen mit super Service. Es ist sehr herzlich und das Essen ist der Wahnsinn. Jeder der mal was besonderes essen möchte sollte unbedingt das Abyssinia ausprobieren.

Das Nationalgericht Äthiopiens war mit Hähnchen und gekochtem Ei, sehr schmackhaft, lecker würzig und pikant. Dazu noch die warme Gemüseplatte. Es war sehr reichlich. Eine tolle Experience. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Lokal ist sehr klein, aber gemütlich. Das Essen finde ich gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Die Portionen waren leider relativ klein. Ich hätte mir auch mehr äthiopischen Charme gewünscht.

Restaurant is very clean and nicely small. The food is prepared from scratch as you wait. The staff are very fast and kind. While waiting they offered us little starters to taste. Good location if using the Tram. I was really craving for Zigni but the outcome was different,it was however ok.

The food was good, but the portions were small. I ate both the chicken and the vegetarian dish and they were fine but nothing special. On the other hand, the staff was super kind and friendly. They even taught me some Ethiopian!

Als Familie haben wir das Restaurant besucht. Wir kamen zum Mittagsessen. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker und von der Menge absolut ausreichend, d.h. wir wurden alle satt! Die Inhaberin war sehr herzlich. Keiner war aufdringlich. Preis-Leistung (insbes. für München) sehr gut. Kinder sollten auf Schärfe achten (Nachfragen bei Bestellung hilft). Die Kaffee-Zeremonie und die gebackenen Bananen rundeten das ganze sehr gut ab. Auch war kein Druck da, dass man sofort fertig werden muss. Auf die Speisen haben wir nicht lange gewartet. Fazit: wir kommen gern wieder Aufgrund der relativen Nähe (ca 20 min zu Fuß) zum Olympiapark/BMW Museuum läßt sich das Restaurant gut in eine "touristische Route" einbauen.

Hemos estado en este pequeño pero característico restaurante para almorzar. La primera impresión fue de un local etíope muy auténtico, ¡realmente genial! Nos sentimos bienvenidos y el personal fue muy amable y servicial. Tuvimos un entrante frío saludable pero no impresionante. Por el contrario, los platos principales eran muy sabrosos y se servían en ollas muy típicas. El vino de miel también fue muy particular y apreciado. Precios honestos y cantidades justas. En definitiva, una gran experiencia que creo recomendar si desea una experiencia etíope realmente genuina y auténtica.

Leckeres Essen, einfach, reichlich und nahrhaft. Gastraum und Küche sind im selben Raum, sodass das Essen quasi vor den Augen des Gastes zubereitet wird. Gern werden auch Fragen zur landestypischen Küche beantwortet. Durchaus einen Besuch wert!

Kleines, gemütliches Restaurant mit kleiner aber feiner Karte. Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut, außergewöhnlich und mal was anderes. Obwohl es nur wenige Tische im Restaurant gibt, mussten wir über eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten. Die Portionen waren recht klein, satt geworden ist man nur durch das zusätzliche Brot, das nachgereicht wurde. Nachdem das Essen endlich kam, konnten wir gerade so in Ruhe aufessen. Nebenbei wurden schon die Lichter ausgeschaltet, da das Restaurant zeitnah schloss. Für das späte Essen konnten wir schließlich nichts, daher war es schade, dass man zum Schluss fast gehetzt wurde und nichtmal die Getränke in Ruhe austrinken konnte. Kann das Essen auf jeden Fall empfehlen, wenn man rechtzeitig da ist und Zeit mitbringt.

Ganz nach äthiopischer Tradition wurde uns das Essen zu viert auf einer Platte serviert - so wie es der deutsche Kellner (~60 Jahre alt) empfohlen hat. Als Liebhaber äthiopischer, im allgemeinen (ost-)afrikanischer (Essens-)Kultur, freuten wir uns darauf - doch der Kellner hat uns diese Freude mit seiner unfreundlichen Art des Umgangs sehr vermiest. Die Portionen waren sehr klein - diese wären, auf einem separaten Teller für jeden einzeln serviert, kleiner als ein Vorspeisenteller gewesen. Als wir den Kellner freundlich darauf hingewiesen haben, dass wir leider nicht satt geworden sind, erhielten wir nur unverschämte Antworten und kein Entgegenkommen seinerseits. Anstatt auf uns einzugehen, sagt er nur: "Tja, sie müssen auch das Brot essen! Das ist das Problem!" (obwohl wir das Hirsebrot bereits fast leer gegessen hatten). Für die Portionen, die wir erhielten, waren die Preise unverhältnismäßig hoch. Enttäuscht und völlig verdutzt über so eine unhöfliche Behandlung, verließen wir das Restaurant hungrig und schlecht gelaunt. Des Weiteren wollte uns der Kellner penetrant Wein andrehen, obwohl wir bereits mehrmals verneint haben. Das Küchenpersonal wirkte bemüht und herzlich; schien jedoch nicht viel mitzureden zu haben - was wirklich sehr schade war. Am liebsten würden wir eine Entschädigung fordern

Unsere Portionen waren viel zu klein. Wir haben zu viert gegessen und uns die Speisen nach äthiopischer Tradition auf einem großen, gemeinsamen Teller bestellt. Allerdings war dieser viel zu klein. Ich behaupte sogar, dass nicht einmal 2 Personen von den Portionen satt geworden wären. Das beiliegende, von unserer Bedienung (deutscher Kellner mit Halbglatze) hochgelobte, Brot war auch sehr wenig und hat überhaupt nicht gut geschmeckt. Auf unsere Frage hin ob unsere bestellten Gerichte wirklich alle auf der Platte sind, kam uns der Kellner äußerst unverschämt entgegen und antwortete mit den Worten: "Ja das sind die Portionen für 4 Personen. Sie müssen auch das Brot essen, sonst werden sie nicht satt. Das ist das Problem." Die Bedienung ging gar nicht auf unsere Kritik ein und ignorierte uns. Neben weiteren unverschämten Kommentaren, wie "Das Brot macht Sie schon satt. Das werden Sie später schon noch merken.", wollte der Kellner uns permanent zu teurem Wein und zusätzlichen kleinen Gerichten drängen. Abgesehen davon waren die Preise im Vergleich zu den mageren Portionen, die auch nicht besonders gut geschmeckt haben, viel zu teuer. Einen so enttäuschenden Besuch in einem Restaurant hatte ich zuvor noch nie erlebt! Absolut nicht empfehlenswert!

Portionen viel zu klein und unverschämter Kellner! Wir waren zu viert dort essen und haben aufgrund der Überredungskünste des Kellners unsere vier Gerichte auf einer Platte serviert bekommen, anstatt einzeln. Ein Fehler! Sind alle vier nicht satt geworden, obwohl wir zuvor eine Vorspeisenplatte hatten. Wie schon in anderen Rezensionen beschrieben, der deutsche Kellner Ende 50 mit kurzen grauen Haaren ist eine Zumutung! Sein Kommentar zur kleinen Portion für über 40 Euro: "Sie werden schon sehen, das Brot sättigt Sie genug!" Versuchte krampfhaft uns teuren Wein aufzuschwatzen. Vergaß anscheinend am Ende uns die Vorspeisenplatte aufzuschreiben, rannte (!) uns daraufhin 200 Meter wegen den 7,90 Euro hinterher. NIE WIEDER!

Wir waren zu viert da. Der Chef, der uns auch bedient hat, war von Beginn an sehr aufdringlich und unfreundlich. Wir hatten vier Portionen auf einem Teller. Es war so wenig , dass keiner von uns satt geworden ist, trotz Vorspeise! Und die Preise sind sehr hoch! Das FleischGericht war außerdem kaum als solches zu erkennen! Als wir es angesprochen haben, wurden wir persönlich angegriffen, wir würden falsch essen... Ich kann nur abraten, dort zu essen! Wir sind sehr frustriert. Viel bezahlt und praktisch nichts bekommen, uns dann noch dumm angemacht worden. Der Kellner (Und Chef) war überhaupt nicht kritikfähig, war unfreundlich und patzig und eine sehr abstoßende Person. Der Restarantbesuch hat uns den Abend verdorben... :(

Waren mit Groupon dort Essen. Ein Mann hat etwas aufdringlich die Karte für uns vorgelesen (anscheinend hilft er den Äthiopischen Mitarbeitern die kaum deutsch sprechen?), Grund war wohl dass es letztendlich nur zwei mögliche Essen gab. Die Portionen sind sehr klein, v.a. die Vorspeise war wohl nur für eine anstatt für zwei Personen. Aber der Hauptgang war sehr typisch und auch lecker (Zwei Fleischsorten auf Hirsepfannkuchen). Nachtisch gab es dann keinen, trotz explizitem nachfragen und obwohl dieser bei Groupon definitiv dabei ist. Wein war lecker, aber hier gab es als komplette Flasche nur Weiß- oder Rosewein, aber keinen Rotwein. Fühlen uns etwas "betrogen" wegen des Nachtischs und alles in allem etwas seltsame Athmosphäre wegen dem über-eifrigen Mann der uns ständig "beraten" wollte (da kam keine Romantik auf - war das Geburtstagsessen meiner Frau), auch wenn das Essen selbst wirklich lecker war.

Speisen ingesamt lieblos serviert. Da im Gastraum gekocht wird trägt man den Essensgeruch in den Kleidern mit nach Hause. Gerichte authentisch und gut, aber Portion zu klein. Getränkepreise maßlos übertrieben. 7 € 1 Glas Veltliner, 5,60 € 1 Weißbier???? Lokal nicht gut geheizt. Service aufdringlich

Es herrscht eine sehr gemütliche und familiäre Atmosphäre in dem kleinen Restaurant. Auf die äthiopische Küche war ich schon sehr gespannt und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Im Gegenteil, das Essen hat wunderbar geschmeckt. Der Ober hat etwas skurilles, aber im positiven Sinne.
