From the outside the restaurant didn't look particularly inviting. At first glance you didn't realize that there was a restaurant inside. It's getting a bit old and the inside is being modernized in stages. Chairs look old, walls are new, toilet areas are completely new, the outside of the building is old... don't get me wrong, everything is clean ^^. But now to the most important thing: eating: If you like eating fish, this is the right place for you. I had baked potatoes with smoked salmon and that was to die for:), very satisfied. My four companions were all happy with their fish. Whether fried fish, fish platter, everything is great. There is also an ice cream parlor in the house. When we went out we picked up some ice cream which tasted delicious. Service was good.

Great excursion destination, pleasant atmosphere for a snack bar, the offering is sometimes really sophisticated and exceptionally good. The opening times are particularly crazy!! There is no restaurant far and wide, and I would like to emphasize this, that reliably serves its food from morning to night. Thanks for that too. A small addition... Regardless of whether it's a breakfast buffet, lunch or ice cream, you can generally find what you're looking for here and at reasonable prices.

We are standing here with the motorhome and will also have fish sandwiches.

So basically worth a visit, but with restrictions. The pensioners steal a chair, pillow and blanket as soon as you look away. Unfortunately, fish is never cheap, which is why the prices are high. A wild rush when ordering. But the fish plate was tasty, although there were very small pieces of fish for the price.

We were there for a family reunion/breakfast buffet. A very nice and tasty selection of rolls, cold cuts, fish etc... Coffee was always brought fresh to the table. The price-performance ratio is great. gladly again

The tour of the smokehouse is highly recommended. Explanations and demonstrations from a professional, informative and funny. Then simply go to the attached restaurant to eat. Delicious fish dishes, but also a lot of other choices. Even if you don't like fish, you'll get your money's worth. And really delicious ice cream!!! Book a tour and table in advance and it will be a great day trip.

The portions are large, tasty, but what they prepared for us was not what we ordered.

Good selection and quality at reasonable prices. Super friendly service that keeps its nerve even when there is a high volume of guests/customers. For non-fish eaters, there are also meat dishes on the menu. When the weather is nice, there is a large guest garden. There are sufficient parking spaces available. The Dümmer cycle path leads directly past the restaurant. For me, a stop at Hoffmann's is a must when visiting the Dümmer.

We cycled around Lake Dümmer and fortified ourselves at Aal Hoffmann. In the north of the lake, about half way around, there is an excellent location with many fish dishes on offer. You can also go there by car. It tastes delicious, I can recommend a visit 😀.

The restaurant is very conveniently located within sight of the Dümmer. Cold and warm food plus ice cream and cakes available at the self-service counter. Smoked fish also available to take away. Visually very appealing. Had a fish plate with fried potatoes and salad. Very tasty and sufficient. Criticism: The price was stated on the website as €18.40. On the menu in the restaurant at €21.40. I paid at the checkout: €22.50! This is not serious! Addendum: The online menu was updated the day after my visit! Exemplary! Thank you!

Great service, a fantastic range of fresh food, homemade cakes & tarts and ice cream. The smoker's plate is my personal highlight here. The smokehouse tour is also available Great and a great event for groups. You can feel that a lot of passion and hard work make this restaurant so successful. The ambience is also very tasteful and appealing.

After arriving in the neighboring town in the late afternoon, I wanted to grab something quick to eat and ended up here. Then I ordered eel with fried potatoes. The price of 22 euros wasn't unusual at first since eel isn't exactly cheap. ☝️ But the portion shocked me a bit. The amount of eel was normal (3 pieces). Only the side dish, i.e. the fried potatoes, wouldn't have fed even a small child. Believe it or not, there were 6 forkfuls of fried potatoes. The worst thing about it isn't that I wasn't nearly full and then I bought 2 fish sandwiches for about 10 euros. What annoyed me most was that these were the tastiest fried potatoes I've eaten in a long, long time. So here's a really big compliment to the chefs. Truly unique. Unfortunately, saving money, you can also call it stinginess, with the relatively cheap side dish remains negatively in the memory. However, the fish sandwiches were also really tasty.

Today we had a very, very, very tasty meal again. The pork schnitzel with the best fried potatoes ever and everything else is already at star level I can highly recommend the restaurant and the eel smokehouse.

Hello, I was in the restaurant with my wife at lunchtime. My wife is disabled with forearm supports and I also have a walking aid due to a stroke. Both with a severely disabled person's ID (of course we don't wear the ID in front of our heads). We ordered at the counter and the friendly gentleman brought us to the table. Picking it up at the counter wasn't so nice. When I asked if the tray with the two dishes could be brought to the table, I received the answer from the (lady) If they don't have anyone who can bring it to them, that was pretty outrageous. (General shaking of the head from other guests who were impeccable. Finally, a guest we didn't know brought the tray to the table. Clearing the table was also met with the answer > you can't do it yourself, I don't have time < . Note: You should do this even when there is a lot of activity. Don't forget KINDNESS. Lg A camper

The food was ok, but nothing more!! We sat on the terrace, we felt like we were on the dog playground. Ambience mediocre and service is non-existent!! Conclusion; never again for us 👎👎

Very tasty, had the smoker plate and the fried fish plate. There's little to say about the service, as you have to order, pick up and bring back yourself. We also liked that there was a corner with toys for children. This meant we could eat in a relaxed manner while our son explored the toy.

Was there for the second time. Keep coming back. The food tastes good. You have to wait a bit for the food, but that's easily solved with the beeper. The ice cream also tastes very good. Recommended.

The food was tasty, but it wasn't a highlight either. Since it is a self-service restaurant you can't really say anything about the service at the table. The location is okay and the veranda invites you to linger. We'll be happy to come back for a simple, quick meal or a delicious ice cream.

Thoroughly recommended, a visit is a must...great atmosphere, great concept. Food very good, ingredients fresh and tasty, from local farmers. Family business that faces its daily tasks with passion, professionalism and friendliness. The staff is in no way inferior and is always ready to respond! You fill yourself up and are happy to take the journey from Bielefeld :-)

Very tasty food. Unfortunately, if you sit on the patio you have to order at the counter and pick up the food there. This is very inconvenient when eating with several people.

The breakfast buffet is really great! Large selection of high-quality fish products, but also cheese, sausage, egg dishes and lots of bread, rolls and juices. For the fifth star, the only thing that needs to be a little friendlier is the always grumpy service.

Wir waren heute Nachmittag dort und echt begeistert! Meine Frau hat laut ihren Worten hier "das leckerste Spaghetti-Eis" ihres Lebens gegessen. Ich habe probiert und kann mich dem nur anschließen. Ich habe den Backfisch mit Kartoffelsalat gegessen und war auch zufrieden. Vor allen Dingen die Preise sind sehr human. Für zu Hause habe ich mir noch ein geräuchertes Forellenfilet mitgenommen. Ein Extrapunkt für den freundlichen Service und die Organisation! Wenn wir das nächste Mal zum Dümmer fahren, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder hierher!!

We only had two coffees and a chocolate ice cream here today. Later there were fish sandwiches (eel, fried fish and herring) to take away. The food was really incredibly delicious. Wir haben 2 verschiedene Gerichte bestellt, Ofenkartoffel mit Lach und Salat sehr gut und lecker zubereitet, auch optisch sehr schön angereichtet. Mein Räuchermeisterteller sehr lecker aber Bratkartoffel leider teilweise verbrannt und der Beilagensalat bestand aus einer viertel Tomate und vertrocknetem Rucola. Die Räucherhäppchen auch sehr klein, aber als Vorspeise OK.

Non-fish eaters will also find something suitable for them. The menu is clear and what is offered is of very good quality. Everyone from families with children is welcome here, with dogs we have only been in the outside area, people with disabilities, sailors and surfers in wetsuits who come from the spots in the east and south of the lake. The term “false statement” is interesting here, as I did not write a false statement but rather simply questioned a conversation I overheard with other guests. This was responded to. However, the owner's positioning as clearly distancing himself from the AfD shows that he does not support the AfD in this regard. I find this very positive as a public positioning! In this regard, I can confirm that my aim was never to misrepresent the owner here, but rather to question what irritated both me and other guests from the conversation I overheard. Perhaps it makes sense if conversations with political content (especially in these politically explosive and sensitive times) are conducted more quietly or not in public in order not to irritate guests! With that, I would like to bring the focus back to my original review. My question: "I have to (temporarily) correct my positive review below. I had to overhear a conversation between the owner and guests. Since then, based on his statements and the entire conversation, I have the feeling that I am in a 'blue' (AFD-related polemic). )-run restaurant. This would be totally unacceptable for me. The Dümmer has always had a place in my heart 💕 Since childhood... Even after 60 years... I tried the first eel in my life there. Since then I've loved eel everywhere. Every time I'm there I can't do without eel. Now I ordered eel online for the first time from the Hoffmann eel smokehouse and I have to say, compared to other smokehouses (unbelievable, 😃) One like that I haven't experienced the consistency of meat and taste yet.... It could be addictive.. Definitely 5***** stars plus from me and big praise to the Hoffmann family.. Greetings Rüdiger .

We were particularly impressed by the very beautiful terrace, which invites you to linger. The food is super tasty across the board. In addition to a wide variety of fish fillets and fish rolls of all kinds, you can also get ice cream sundaes and the like at Hoffmann. The restaurant is very busy, especially in the summer months, but you can still place an order very quickly and get the food just as quickly, as the processes are professionally set up with a beeper like before at Vapiano.

Im ersten Moment etwas irritierend, Eisdiele, Restaurant und Fischverkauf unter einen Dach. Jedoch Klasse Eis sowie die Fischgerichte Top 👏 Macht auch im Allgemeinen einen sauberen Eindruck. Eine Kellnerin ist allerdings zu wenig , Personalmangel ? Sehr Empfehlenswert !!!
