The service at this restaurant/café was extremely rude. We weren't even greeted; instead, we were immediately asked where we were from. Furthermore, the prices are very high: two small coffees cost €16.10, which I think is too expensive.

For me, the best Italian place in Düsseldorf! The kitchen here comes from the heart. Excellent service, family friendly and fair prices. What can you ask more for?

This restaurant has really delicious food, and I always enjoy my time here. The staff are welcoming and friendly, which makes the experience even better. I especially recommend trying their carbonara, it’s absolutely amazing!

It has declined considerably over the years, with significantly higher prices, although at €36 for a bottle of Lugana Otella, you can't complain. We were there today with five people. The small Antipasti Misti starter platter was actually five portions at €17.90 each. Perhaps they should tell the guests that beforehand! The mixed fish platter was very fresh, but the mussels on it were very sandy. The extremely disinterested, gum-chewing waitstaff didn't seem to care. Cool and annoying is the motto here, but not customer satisfaction. The restaurant thrives on walk-in customers, it seems to us. The regulars are long gone. Since there's no shortage of really good and authentic Italian restaurants in Düsseldorf, there's really no reason to spend your €60 per person here!

Not recommended! Unfortunately, the food didn't taste good at all; some of it was lukewarm and tasteless. The food arrived within a few minutes; it could have been heated up in a microwave. We're no longer in the 80s. Back when the place was still run by an Italian. Where quality, professionalism, and customer service were paramount. A tavola was one of the first trattorias in Düsseldorf. And it also had a good regular clientele. Now it's a restaurant. Walk-ins who come once and never again. And "homemade pasta" can be interpreted in many different ways...open the package yourself, cook the pasta yourself. And the restaurant was always loud. The murals were once hip. If the place had continued to be run the way it was when it was handed over—with high standards, high-quality food, and customer-oriented staff—it would still be a gold mine...but as it is. Not recommended. Overpriced, poor quality, untrained, rude, lackluster staff.

A pleasant Italian restaurant in Düsseldorf's Old Town. Guests can choose whether they want to sit inside or outside. The menu is varied and offers many culinary options and delicious food. However, there was a surprise on the bill: an incorrect dish. The error was rectified immediately. The restrooms were fine, but are only accessible via stairs. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

Racist Treatment – Reservation Ignored We had clearly reserved for 8-9 people. Upon our arrival, the atmosphere changed abruptly when they realized we were predominantly Black guests. Suddenly, they said there was no reservation and no space – in a tone that left no doubt: This was racist discrimination. The derogatory look, the condescending attitude – undignified treatment that we will not tolerate.

The service is totally unfriendly. I like coming here just for the rizzoto. You can eat the best rizzoto here, but the service is terrible.

Definitely an insider tip in Düsseldorf's old town, this restaurant is located off the beaten track in a side street. Here, you can enjoy excellent Italian cuisine both inside and outside. Depending on the time of day, you can choose between sunny, semi-shaded, or shady spots. The food is delicious, the portions are generously sized, and the prices are very reasonable for what's on offer. The service is very friendly and attentive; we'll be back, thank you ☺️

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE DESPITE WHAT ANYONE SAYS - complete shambles. Where to start with this restaurant. It is clearly popular and I have rated the food based on the experience of others….that is because I did not get to experience the food, but had plenty of time to witness people’s response to it as I waited for 55mins for a table. I should probably take some responsibility because during that time I witnessed the haphazard crazy lack of proper service. I witnessed tables waiting 30 mins to pay a bill. I witnessed the waiter drop off and leave the card machine for 20 mins at the table. I witnessed them give a table away to someone who clearly knew the staff despite others having waited much much longer. I witnessed people repeatedly be fobbed off with just one minute. They did not care whatsoever about creating even the lowest standard of service. I am not talking above and beyond here, I am talking basics. So having waited 55 mins, without being offered a menu, or even to order a drink - we finally got a table. They sat us without even setting the table despite having witnessed them set every table including bread and oil. We then witnessed a couple who had sat after us, be given water, wine and had there order taken. When we finally asked to have any order taken, even just drinks, 15 mins after being sat down, we were told ‘wait 1 min’. The final straw was when I witnessed said waiter, having been asked to take our order, proceeded to head back to his waiter friends and simply stand there. I lost it! A final straw is a final straw. I stood and proceeded to try to leave. The waiter jumped to and asked me what was wrong. I explained that they had failed to even offer us a drink having been sat down for 15 mins and had served others in that time. They could not care less. They said fine and goodbye. I could have knocked the guy out. Who the hell does he think he is?! Like I had done something wrong by wanting even the basic of service from a restaurant. Shocking behaviour. I have to be honest, it definitely felt like discrimination against us because we were English. It has to be said. But then the service was so shocking for everyone perhaps I am drawing the wrong conclusions. To be fair, there was an Italian woman who occasionally came out and berated the staff in a way only an Italian could, but she was right, I wish she had stayed front of house and got them in order. Total shambles of a place that should be avoided at all costs. Do not even begin to hand over any money to this place, total waste! P.S walked 10 mins down the road and was served a two course Italian meal of excellent standard with brilliant service for 35€ a head including wine all within 30 mins total. A place that understands the word service and clearly cares about its customers.

A really beautiful place with great food. Small but perfectly formed! The menu offers a wide selection, and the dishes are reasonably priced. Especially on weekends, you should arrive early to secure a table outside.

We went there with a small wedding party. Falco and his team spoiled us with delicious food and drinks, as well as excellent service! We'll definitely be back!

It was a hot day, so we chose to sit on the terrace. However, it started to rain halfway through our meal, and unfortunately the restaurant was full, so we had to wait under a parasol. Despite the trouble, the meal was satisfying. Carbonara, porcini mushroom risotto, carpaccio, eggplant casserole, and octopus salad. Everything was good.

Very attentive service. Although it was busy and many people came and went while we were there, the waiter was completely focused on each guest. Although the team worked quickly, they didn't seem hectic or rushed, but rather friendly and approachable. Overall, the team seemed to work well together. This created a pleasant atmosphere. The food was very tasty and attractively presented. I relied on the cellar's recommendation and am very satisfied with it.

We arrived and there was no room for 4 people. We had to wait 45 minutes after a waiter told us that a place would be ready for us. The other waiter brought in a couple who came after us and gave them the vacated table. I challenged the arrogant waiter, telling me that there are 4 of us and we still have to wait while his college prepares the place for us. Fortunately the professional waiter came and kindly asked the couple to give us space because we arrived first. Food compared to the price not much too expensive. Good atmosphere

The restaurant is nicely located and has a nice atmosphere. However, the tables are very close together and the noise in the restaurant makes conversation almost impossible. The service was nice and quite attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us and we know a lot about Italian cuisine. Price-performance ratio not ok.

The restaurant is located on a side street, where you can sit and chat for two. But I was particularly dissatisfied with the service. Even when you thanked us as a guest, there was no response from the staff. I paid 63 euros for two dishes and a water - I expected more. My dish, the squid, had hardly any flavor. I would not recommend this restaurant. Maybe I was just unlucky, but for me it definitely wasn't worth the money. Above all, the service was disappointing.

Although the restaurant is located in the middle of Düsseldorf's old town, the fact that it is on a side street makes it very, very quiet. We waited over an hour for our food and when it finally came it was cold and of very poor quality. We didn't even eat half of it. The service was also disappointing - no one asked us if everything was OK. Overall a very bad experience. We will not recommend this restaurant and will not come back!

A real Italian restaurant "on the corner" on the edge of Düsseldorf's old town. The menu is authentic, the dishes are delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. - Clear recommendation!

The prices got significantly higher than the last time we visited, and we confirmed that the pasta definetely doesn't worth 25 Euros... I wanted to have a glass of wine with it, but I find it crazy to ask for 8,90 Euros just for a 0,15 ml house wine. It is the last time I am coming here.

Die zahlreichen Bewertungen spiegeln es treffend wieder. Das Lokal hat seine eigene, nicht uncharmante Stimmung: Laut, lebendig, rustikal. Da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Speisen sind leider enttäuschend. Exemplarisch ein staubtrockenes Ossobuco, das anmutete in der Mikrowelle aufgetaut worden zu sein und unangenehm hart übergart war. Man musste mit dem Messer richtiggehend säbeln - bei einem Schmorgericht (etwas über 30 €). Die Pasta waren ebenfalls völlig überkocht und fade. Auffallend: an keinem der vielen Tische sah man eine Flasche Wein in einem Kühler. Ursächlich scheint, dass auf der Karte Wein ausschließlich glasweise angeboten wird (Hauswein ab 8,50 €/Glas). Erst auf Nachfrage erhielt man eine Weinkarte, auf der man allerdings gut fündig wird und die auch preislich gut gestaltet war. Für die soliden Vorspeisen gibt es zwei Punkte.

A very authentic, small restaurant. Even at full capacity on a Friday night, the service was fast and attentive. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted excellent. Special requests regarding preparation were accommodated. We'd be happy to return :)

Unfortunately, I have to say that this was the most disappointing Italian food I've ever tasted. The pasta had a mushy dough and the tomato sauce tasted oversalted. The supposedly 'homemade' pasta was completely overcooked and covered in a bland cream sauce. The prices are completely unreasonable for such poor quality food. I don't understand how a restaurant with Italian aspirations can serve such dishes. I wouldn't recommend it!

Everything was great :) But you should definitely make a reservation on Friday evening and expect a little waiting time even despite the reservation.

Last night I went to dinner with my family. We ordered our food and I asked for a bottle of wine. First, the wine came to our table already opened. I guess we all know that wine should be opened at the table. The waiter first tried to convince me, then brought a new bottle and opened our wine on the table. Then our food arrived. I chose linguini with lobster and crab. When my food arrived there was a pasta with 4 shrimps on top. I called the waiter and this time he told me that the menu had been translated incorrectly. The result was a fast food style Italian restaurant!

It's okay, but we won't be coming back again The restaurant is nicely decorated, but it was quite loud and hectic in the small and cramped restaurant. The Bruscetta is recommended. It is only topped with tomatoes and not topped with onions as is often the case in other restaurants. Our main courses were okay, but nothing more. We didn't know red cabbage as Italian until now. The service is generally friendly. Unfortunately, they weren't completely attentive or didn't hear us properly at the volume. On the one hand, we got the fillet medium instead of medium rare and I received the wrong pasta dish. However, the waiter offered to swap this for the real pasta dish. Finally, when we were asked how we found the food, we replied that it was okay, to which no question was asked (or no one listened). Finally we were given cantuccini and another pastry - that was a friendly gesture and also very tasty. The higher prices are okay for the location in the middle of Düsseldorf's old town, but we would still have liked a little more quality.

We were here with a slightly larger group and had a great evening! The service was great and the atmosphere in the restaurant was excellent. It really feels like you're on vacation in Italy and not in the middle of Düsseldorf. I really can't complain, although it might be a bit loud for some people, but that's part of it and should be tolerated. I had the Taglierini della Casa with black truffle. The portion of the dish was quite decent, but it didn't blow me away. That led me to deduct a star. But that's complaining at a high level! Nevertheless, I had a great evening with my colleagues, and that's why I can Definitely recommend A Tavola again and again if you want to experience a piece of vacation in Italy.

It WAS our pizzeria. We were happy to be there as guests from abroad for several years. - This time, 4 days in advance by phone, as always, reservations were made for 4 people, this evening, for example, the expensive suggestion of spaghetti with truffles was stuck together, other dishes were not as usual, the wine was good, so or well, it can happen …… - However, we reserved again with the same name for the next evening, table for 4 people from 6.30 p.m. - And lo and behold, our table was occupied, appraising, smiling, the statement from the responsible service manager, actually we shouldn't reserve any more tables. Great 😡, we were there for the last time 🤷‍♀️, you really can't treat guests like that 😠😠.

Just bad! Service listless and very bad mood. Food carelessly prepared and far from worth the money! Waited forever until you got the menu (a printed sheet of paper with grease stains), only 1 glass of wine out of 2 ordered was served, 2 dishes came after about 30 minutes, but there were four of us and the other two dishes only came in 25 minutes later. No excuse, that's just how it was. At the end we asked for the bill 4 times and had to wait almost an hour so we could finally pay. NEVER AGAIN A TAVOLA!!!!

We were there twice! The first and last time! We had reserved a table (it was fine the day before) but the table was occupied. When we asked why the table wasn't free, the waiter grinned arrogantly and said they'd better not reserve any more tables, whatever that might mean. An apology would have been appropriate. You'll never see us again.

La comida es muy buena, 4. 5 . Filete en una reducción de chianti, y un quattro Formaggi rigatoni. La botella de vino de Valpolicella era muy buena, (con un precio de unos 2 . 5 x venta al por menor que parece estándar en Altstadt). En el interior es muy ruidoso (ambas visitas) y es muy cálido. No se han sentado fuera, ya que no queríamos esperar a una mesa (No hay oferta para comprar una bebida mientras esperamos. Atmósfera 2 . 5 Ambas visitas, parece que tenían poco personal y podrían usar uno o dos servidores/corredores más. Tardaron una eternidad en conseguir una bebida, y la botella de vino no llegó hasta mucho después de que entre se entregó. actitudes parecían un poco fuera - poner, anfitriona y servidor. Servicio 2 . 5 Volverá a visitar y sentarse fuera, y ver si el cambio en la ubicación lo redime.

Local is ok, food ok, service ok. Table for 4 people, reserved for the next day. Got there the next day, was greeted by the boss himself, but there was no table left. Grinning, he said he'd better stop making reservations. We wish him continued success with his arogance. Apparently he can afford to treat customers like that.

The food at A Tavola was fantastic. The saltimbocca and the pasta with king prawns are highly recommended! Everything fresh and seasoned with that special Italian twist. Ambience and service were also good. It's great that there were 4 delicious cookies at the end. :)

The food was acceptable although it did not meet my expectations. But I have never seen such a dirty restaurant in my life. All the plates were covered in greasy fingerprints, and there was a greasy mark on the edge of the plates as if the sauce had been wiped off with it. 🤢 After all this, my friend convinced me that the employees are under stress and something like this can happen accidentally. I wanted to be generous and, since I worked in the catering industry myself for some time, I tipped 20%. However, the waiter was ice cold, just threw the receipts on my friend's table and walked away without saying thank you or saying goodbye! In any case: never again! This city has enough good and clean Italian restaurants.

They don't make an effort to make themselves understood, the letter is only in German, first they charge you and then they bring you the bill 🙄

I've been going there for many years. Of course, it is very popular at lunchtime, especially for business lunches, and is therefore definitely a great place to eat. But I think €18.90 per month for a plate of pasta that used to cost €13.50 is really quite over and no longer appropriate. I've had food twice now that wasn't seasoned well at all. Then there are waiters who only speak English (not that I can't manage that!) but knowing a little language certainly doesn't hurt...

Overpriced food. Not a big selection. Unfriendly service. For Italian cuisine, standard dishes for too much money. Gluten intolerance is not taken seriously. No pizza on the menu.

Service: the female waiter is unfriendly and makes you feel unwelcome, the rest is competent and charming. Food: 9/10 About my experience: A bit slow service + gear calls, gives you the feeling of being in France, haha ​​but the job was done. We had antipaste starter (ordered vegetarian), bread in advance and antipaste (very very tasty) ravioli with spinach and tomato cream and penne with mozzarella tomato sauce. Ravioli to recommend, the penne with mozzarella was a 10/10 every 4 bites, otherwise very bland, for dessert we had tiramisu and almond pastries with the 'dessert wine'. The dessert wine was more of a liqueur, and not a good one. Well for the price you can't complain 8.90 for 0.1 with the almond pastry. Tiramisu was a highlight. We will definitely come back at some point.

Italian restaurant with a very good selection of pastas and funds. They welcome you with bread rolls to taste the olive oil with salt and pepper. I ordered the taglierini della casa with black truffle and they were delicious but, based on personal taste, I would have changed the pasta for a thicker and more bodied one. My husband ordered the Penne Bolognesa and the sauce was very rich and tasty, the pasta cooked to its perfect point. Delicious wine and super friendly service. Reservations are recommended.

We spontaneously looked for a restaurant and found “A Tavola”. When asked if there was a table available for 6, the restaurant was immediately moved around to make room. The staff is incredibly courteous and very attentive. You can see immediately whether a guest needs something or whether the glass is empty ;). The food is excellent. You feel like you're on a short vacation in a restaurant in the middle of Italy. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.
