22nd Lounge & Bar - Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main

After my visit yesterday, I have a tip for all of you: Avoid this place at all costs! Upon arrival, you're greeted by a would-be bouncer who behaves inappropriately aggressively and disrespectfully, even when asked simple, polite questions about the business (as well as those of the people I spoke to before). Unfortunately, this tone continues with the owner, who also stands out for his unfriendliness and provocative manner. The view and the drinks menu can't compensate for this behavior at all. There are definitely better alternatives with more pleasant service.

I was just at the Ifh in Frankfurt and wanted to go to the bar at the end. I was asked to leave as an individual. What kind of people are you?

I've been to this bar many times, and I don't know why the service is so bad now. The manager and waiters are rude and very disrespectful! There were three of us, and it was unreasonable that we were only allowed to choose the seat closest to the wall, even though there was a large area available. The bar manager was very rude and pointed his finger at me. It even felt like he was going to come and hit me. I don't know why he was so arrogant, like a hooligan.

We were given a very unpleasant and unfriendly turndown. We weren't hotel guests and just wanted to have a drink. When we asked if we could stand at the bar, he replied, "I'm not arguing. I don't have any room." Access was restricted to hotel guests. The first and last time we encountered such an unfriendly bar manager. A shame for such a great location.

I was a bit skeptical because some places in Frankfurt act a little bit shady towards black men but this place was respectful and welcoming.

Nice view, that’s it. Excessive self-overestimation on the part of the employees - just for laughs. Starting with Kasper at the door, who feels like he's still a child and rudely tells us that we have to wait. Another unfriendly gentleman then just waved us in with a hand gesture - no hello or other signs of hospitality. We sat in the second row, which is fine. When the table next to us right by the window became available and we asked if we could sit there, we were told that others came first and that this was in order. All right, no problem. When the next table by the window became available, the two women who had the table were placed there directly, the first two women who came to the window before us. There were just two ladies and the unkempt waiter seemed to like that. In the end we didn't care, we found everything miserable apart from the view (which those responsible can't do anything about, otherwise the view would be miserable too) and wanted to leave anyway. That just confirmed our bad impression. The drinks menu is really poor and way too expensive for the shabby place (yes, even a skybar can be shabby - service, crowd, worn out furniture, DJ). There is ONE type of beer - Veltins 0.33l from the bottle and you want 6€ for that 😂 Avoid this Punch and Judy show, there are much nicer bars in Frankfurt.

I advise against visiting this bar. My friend and I wanted to have a relaxed drink with a beautiful view. While we were standing in line, we noticed how the bouncer treated the guests. Totally cheeky and very chubby. There is no feeling of welcome here. Everyone in line was totally shocked by the way things were handled. After several groups of people had left the bar, one asked if it would be possible to get a seat. But the bouncer was very aggressive and was literally looking for a problem. We found this quite discriminatory towards the group who had previously been neither loud nor conspicuous. Otherwise I could have understood it. My friend and I therefore decided to look for another place. I don't see any reason to come back and pay money to be treated like that. Really bad. Everyone who noticed this left.

We chose this bar because of the great view and the good drinks - a recommendation that we wanted to try. Unfortunately, our visit was anything but pleasant. As we stood in line, we were told by a nice gentleman that we would have to wait about 30 minutes until several guests left the restaurant. So far so good. After we finally got to the front of the line and about ten women had left the restaurant, my friend politely asked the bouncer if he worked here because he had a question. He just wanted to know if there was room for us now. However, the bouncer's reaction was unfriendly and unnecessarily provocative. Instead of giving a clear answer, my friend was told in an inappropriate tone that he “would have to wait.” When he asked how long it would take, he was again simply replied that he “would have to wait”. The situation could have ended here, but the bouncer followed up and asked in a provocative tone: “Are you from Frankfurt? Then you should know how things work here.” This unnecessary provocation led me to speak up and ask not to exaggerate - after all, we were just asking a normal question. The atmosphere had become so unpleasant that we decided to leave anyway. But instead of just letting us go, the bouncer sent us away for good. It was particularly unfortunate because I wanted to celebrate my university graduation here and there was a group of ten other people on the way. A high bill that the restaurant lost as a result. Interestingly, other guests behind us also left the line because they also found the bouncer's behavior inappropriate. A look at the reviews shows that we are not alone in this experience. It's a shame that an actually nice restaurant loses guests because of such behavior on the part of the bouncers. Something like that doesn't work!

Disappointing experience despite a beautiful location The 22 Bar is actually a really nice location – great atmosphere, good music, pleasant crowd. But what we experienced today is not possible! When a lot of people went outside, we politely asked if we could get a seat. Instead of a normal answer, there was an unfriendly comment from the bouncer: “Where are you from?” When we then asked what that had to do with our entry, it just became even more disrespectful. Suddenly it was said: “Don’t you know how things work here?” and then we were simply dismissed with prejudice - completely cheeky and without reason. The best part? The entire queue saw the scene and was just as stunned as we were. Many people followed us and complained about the bouncer - that says it all! Such behavior ruins the entire experience. No matter how nice a bar is, if the door staff misbehaves like that, then that was it for us. Too bad!

Totally unfriendly service person, complains when we want to pay together and drink takes over 20 minutes. Entry also took over 10 minutes.

The view of Frankfurt from this bar is amazing. Absolutely recommended with a drink at a window seat, a few peanuts and a good conversation partner ;)

Very unfriendly people at reception

We were staying in the hotel so we decided to check out the 22nd bar/lounge. We came right when it opened. The bar is located next to the hotels front desk so we asked the front desk if we needed a reservation which they said no. So when we asked to be seated the host asked if we had a reservation, which we didn’t. We stated that the front desk said we didn’t need one and the host smirked and made a sly comment about it being a Friday night…just to seat us anyway (there were no one there). The food menu was simply bar food, which is fine but they pretty much only had chips left. No olives or anything else. The house cocktails were very minimal but you could ask the bartender to make whatever you want. The view and atmosphere was nice, which is probably why the bar gets such a high rating. The drinks were fine, average.

Unfortunately, I can only advise against visiting the 22nd Bar! Guests are discriminated against here for no reason! Even though I had never been to this bar before, I was refused entry on the grounds that I might cause trouble. What? Like I said, I've never been there and in 40 years I've never started trouble in a bar. I just wanted to have a leisurely after-work drink. Maybe the bouncer drew conclusions from his own behavior and that of his guests, I don't know. But I found it outrageous and degrading to baselessly accuse myself of such improper behavior. That's why never again 22nd Bar! There are plenty of other bars in Frankfurt where guests will be greeted in a friendly and courteous manner.

Terrible service. Me and my friends wanted to visit this place, we called before our visit to ask if it was necessary to make a reservation and the answer was no, it wouldn't be necessary, you can just show up. When we came, we couldn't sit down in normal places, even though there were free tables, and this was justified with stupid excuses. The waiter was incredibly unfriendly and arrogant, and every question about the menu received very unprofessional answers. Accordingly, due to numerous unfriendly gestures and laughs, I really wanted to leave a review about this waiter and asked for his first or last name, to which I was only laughed at and answered as: "You definitely won't get no". I just find this kind of behavior unacceptable, being called names and being treated so rudely in a place like this is simply not acceptable. The man with brown hair and a short haircut, without glasses and with a wrist bandage definitely has no place in such a well-known place, because he ruins the mood and the atmosphere of the bar. For these numerous reasons, I recommend it to all of you Definitely not to spend your evening here! You can certainly find much better places and with much better service! If you don't want to ruin your evening, then definitely look for an alternative

Stay away. The guy who runs the place is exceptionally rude. The finger food is average at best and so are the drinks

Disaster!! Yesterday we were there spontaneously and were simply sat down in some corner even though there were other tables available and not reserved. Their overpriced “cocktails” consist ONLY of sweetened water and start at €15!? Pure ashes can save you money...

In itself a noble bar that knows how to use its appearance. However, the employees at the counter (employee and bouncer) are very ill-mannered and cheeky. Unfortunately, the way they talk to people is not very subtle. You should come well dressed - ideally in a suit, otherwise the good-looking men in their mid-40s at the entrance will make jokes about your clothing style. However, the bar is absolutely phenomenal - but I won't be coming back. There are better Skybars in Frankfurt.

I think the drinks were of a very high quality and the cocktails were prepared really carefully, each one was just right and delicious. I found the staff to be very quick and attentive. I never had to wait long. The prices were a bit high, but the quality and atmosphere of the place make up for it in my opinion

I've been to this bar many times and still love the view and the ambience. The waiter knew last time that I was accompanied and quickly recognized this. He immediately took us to the best spot with a view of the city. A great experience!

Lovely little bar, not huge but enough tables for groups of people. Great views - good for photos. LOADS of Cocktails and extensive drinks menu. Only niggle was that the menu was via scanning a QR code. No paper menus available. We were told that the bar is too dark to read traditional menus!? Would recommend to others.

Bar 22 is undoubtedly a beautiful place that impresses with its stylish ambience and breathtaking views. As soon as you enter the location, you will be amazed by an elegant atmosphere and an impressive panorama that invites you to linger. No matter whether day or night – the view from up here is simply fantastic. Unfortunately our experience was marred by the service. The gentleman who served us did not match the high-quality aura of the bar in his appearance and behavior. His manner of communication seemed inappropriate and unprofessional.

Huge queue at the entrance and “groups of men only” were no longer allowed in at this point. Maybe you should take a look at the AGG...

Clearly a beautiful view and a good location. But we were served rudely, lied to, laughed at, not taken seriously and suspected of leaving without paying. When it comes to service, there is a lot of room for improvement among some employees. We are just as worthy, paying customers. It's not okay.

We found the visit more bad than good. Staff wasn't really hospitable and the atmosphere was more like a funeral. Food wasn't available either. After the minimum consumption we left again. Unfortunately we didn't think it was worth it.

Everything was just perfect. We sat at the bar and were served by Edwin. He truly made us the best drinks and made our evening all the better!!

I always have a pleasant time here. I have never experienced unfriendliness from the waiters, I have always been greeted and served in a friendly manner. The snacks here aren't the best, but it's a bar and not a restaurant. The view from here is of course beautiful, especially at night! As far as I'm concerned, it's a cool place to have a drink in an atmospheric atmosphere.

Great cocktails, live entertainment and stunning skyline views. The cold delicacies are also delicious. It's best to make a reservation to avoid long waiting times. Very cozy and simply impressive!

Didn’t even have time to take my hoodie of the waiter immediately complained. About the food the snack plate was awful looked like grocery bought items and put on the plate and it was over priced the cocktails for the taste aren’t worth it don’t recommend

Summary: I have never experienced such a rude waiter… We've been there before and even though we weren't particularly impressed by the price-performance ratio, we wanted to give the bar another chance. There wasn't much going on when we arrived and yet the waiter wasn't in sight. While we were waiting for him, we also discovered several free tables. Only then did the waiter finally arrive, who asked quite rudely what we wanted. When we asked for a table, we were promptly told there was nothing available. When asked about the free tables, the only answer was: I don't want them here, they can disappear... Other guests who were leaving also complained about the waiter, who apparently became very rude after not receiving a tip because of the poor service

Very good views at moderate prices

We were in the bar today and unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyone. We spent €63 for 4 cocktails and simply received bad cocktails and poor service. An entire cocktail was spilled on me and no proper apology was forthcoming. You could tell from the waiter's reaction that he was overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the management reacted completely wrongly here. It was suggested to me that I could have my dress washed at the hotel. We're only there for the night, so unfortunately it's of no use to me. So we were allowed to sit the whole evening between alcohol and a bad atmosphere. Nobody thought it was necessary to wipe the table or the floor. Unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyone.

We went there without a reservation and had a very relaxing evening. The service was friendly and the drinks were good. Nice view of Frankfurt. I really liked the atmosphere. I just can't recommend the cold plate because I don't think it's of high quality, but it's still expensive. In total, the two of us paid 95 € with 4 drinks and the platter + tip.

It's terrible in just about every way. Service was not great, and drinks were very poor. While a 22nd floor view was ok from 2 sides, the reflections and rails made it not the viewing spot, I thought. 2 stars broderimg 1 star.

Went there for a networking event. No Air Con. Stuffy and hot, ridiculously so. What it is like as a normal bar I am unsure but I won't be going there again for that reason alone.

If you don’t like it, waiters will make you understand that other customers would take it anyway View can be pretty amazing if you’re located near the windows. This is surely my favourite rooftop bar in Frankfurt since it opened. The service is very friendly and quick. The best views are from the window in the back yet all direct views out are very lovely. It’s a great place for sunsets. The drinks menu is interesting and classic cocktails, like this margherita are well served. A place highly recommendable when in Frankfurt. Upon enterering the building you just need to turn left where the elevators are and on the displays you need to push push on the screen that you want to go to the hotel/bar. The bar is part of the Innside hotel. Enjoy!

With new concessionaire came questionable audiences. THE bar location with piano music and relaxed after-work drinks is unfortunately a thing of the past. I enjoyed going here until the pandemic because the atmosphere was special. Now just disappointing. Cocktail selection thinned down to a few classics; In general, the menu has shrunk a lot and it is difficult to order without a cell phone. Not everything that was effective during the pandemic has to be continued. Contact with the tender or operator for recommendations or advice was always one of the big plus points of the “old” 22nd. Now: Please don't speak to me more than what is absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, tactile experiences like those with the big, old Gerränke card are now no longer available. But the audience that is currently being met there (the very people who are making noise on the Zeil and who have Ey Alder at No. 1 in the standard vocabulary) can't do anything with it. Compared to before, it has become very flashy. The women are cheap and the boys are in imitation designer looks…… Nibbles for the cocktail have been shrunk down to peanuts, the plastic buckets in which they are delivered are carelessly stacked in the corner up to the ceiling, visibly visible like in a street kitchen, the long bench at the entrance on the right had to replace impersonal bar tables and stools that you might have used would have thought hip 40 years ago, soft ones that you can't or don't want to sit on for long. Even one star is too many! Save yourself the trip to the bar, the staff are so unfriendly, especially this older gentleman from Yugoslavia who doesn't understand German well. We arrived around 11:30 p.m. and just wanted to toast my birthday. He didn't let us in because my husband was wearing flip flops - then my husband said we'd never come back and he completely freaked out.

Absolutely inappropriate reception. There were two of us there and at first we were told to be patient for a moment, then the employee came and criticized my friend's clothing. When asked what exactly was wrong with a two-piece suit and sports shoes, which every man after us had worn. The employee then became abusive and insulting. I went there quite spontaneously out of frustration with my friend. I found my way from the train station without any problem, but I arrived at the Skybar pretty wet. The gatekeeper was so friendly when he explained the function of the elevator to me. When I arrived at the top I was greeted warmly Lovingly placed at a small table, a loving waitress from the Bad Camberg area where I come from served me with such courtesy that I felt like a queen. I drank a beer and got snacks. It was a wonderful evening and I can go home feeling full Bad Homburg back, thank you dear people from Bar 22

Nice atmosphere, great view over Mainhattan. The only drawback: the menu says “We can offer all classic cocktails”. I wanted a Planter's Punch. The bartender (trainee?) said we didn't have that. But the ingredients for this would have been there. Not ok for a bar in this price range

Well... I don't know if I would advertise the floor here, as it is rather mediocre. Sure, you're away from the ground, but it's nothing special. There are two areas in the bar: - Bar: Here the music is very, very loud and the view is not towards skyscrapers - Lounge: There is a better view here, at least the view here is in the right direction. However, it seems a bit like a storage room for people who aren't quite as welcome (wrong dress code -> no short dresses, we ended up here too (luckily)) The staff is unfriendly and takes a little longer than you would like for everything. In general it seems unprofessional. The drinks were delicious, but at €16 for Lillet Wildberry or Aperol they were a proud price. But they were tasty and nicely garnished, you have to give it to the bar.

Without a reservation, we still got a seat, albeit in a smaller room with very bare furnishings. It is estimated that the old chairs and tables were deposited here. But you have a nice view over the city. On the way to the toilet we saw that the main area of ​​the bar was decorated quite nicely. Unfortunately, the view on this side isn't all that impressive. The only thing you can say about the prices is that it is absolutely overpriced, we paid €16 for an Aperol. The service also left something to be desired. It was a very rude treatment of the customers. I definitely won't go here again.

The two of us were there last Saturday around 9 p.m., got there super quickly and got a table right by the window. The staff was very nice and attentive, the view is of course unique, the cocktails were very good but very expensive (of course you pay for the view). Overall we were very satisfied and would love to come back!

We went around 7:00 p.m., it slowly became crowded, around 9:00 p.m. the atmosphere was pleasant, they have almost no food, only snacks, but the drinks were very well done. And they were very kind in their attention. IT IS EXPENSIVE

Despite the promising view, my experience at the 22nd Lounge Bar was marred by the bouncer's unacceptable behavior. I visited late on a Friday evening on 29th Apr, hoping to unwind, but instead encountered rudeness, impoliteness, and even racism from the bouncer. His discriminatory remarks and impatience with guests left a sour taste in my mouth. To make matters worse, he claimed to speak on behalf of the owner, which is concerning. It's disheartening to see such behavior tolerated in an establishment that should prioritize customer satisfaction. I urge the owner to address these issues promptly to maintain the bar's reputation and create a welcoming environment for all patrons.

A small shop and the view is only great if you have a great spot. Expensive drinks and the service is disorganized and sometimes racist? Nobody was asked if they had paid when they left, only us. Background: I have a black girlfriend. I can't say whether it was because of the color of our skin, we were never asked when we left whether we had paid...

It's a great bar with a nice view. Dominik is the highlight at the bar🥳. His cocktails are a work of art. All the staff are really very nice and friendly except the doorman (a bit arrogant). It was the best birthday 🎂 . Thank you for the lovely evening ❤️

We were there at 6 p.m. so we didn't have to wait. The service was very nice and quick. The cocktails were very tasty. The ambience was ok, but the view was even better. If you're in the hotel, it's worth checking out, but otherwise there are better rooftop bars!

Nice view. Expensive tasteless cocktail without even an effort to make a nice presentation. They bring nuts in an stupid thing which u can't even put ur hand inside and grab some nuts. No water is also served. If the view is gone the bar has no value.. Try to find sth better than going there .

So, the question is whether something is worth writing here. The bar gets 3.8 points and people still line up. If we hadn't been there with Brazilian friends, I wouldn't have gotten in line. Because the queue here is unnecessary, because unfortunately various women who were standing behind us were given preferential treatment by this gentleman at the door - and we waited another half an hour. If you could do that, it would bring in sales. WHAT WAS ABSOLUTELY FRIENDLY TO MENTION WAS THE WAITER WITH BLONDE HAIR AND A CENTER PART... very very nice and attentive!!!!!!! The rest of the service is non-existent. We won't be coming back, you don't feel welcome…

The worst bar experience I've ever had. The only thing acceptable about this bar was the view. In a group of five people who all ordered alcoholic drinks, a friend wanted to order a cola. This was aggressively rejected with the words that you were not allowed to order cola or other soft drinks in such an establishment at that time. The rest of us then had our drinks taken away and we were all expelled from the bar. I have never experienced such rude and aggressive service staff with such disrespect. It's a shame that a bar that was so attractive years ago has changed so much for the worse. Such a bar is not recommended!!

I went to this bar today and wanted to order a plain coke, but to my horror I was told that I wasn't allowed to order soft drinks or anything similar at that time and place. When I then asked for sparkling water, this order was also rejected. It is absolutely incomprehensible and outrageous that customers are discriminated against based on their drink preferences. Unfriendly service and very unprofessional behavior of the staff!!! You don't feel welcome!! Only the view is really great

Incredibly cool bar on the 22nd floor. One of the best and most popular bars in Frankfurt. The view is gorgeous. There are 2 halls for guests. The cocktails are good, both in taste and what I especially remember is the non-greedy alcohol content in them :) Also, there were interesting combinations of ingredients. Compared to other similar bars on the roof and in skyscrapers, here you pay a decent amount for a decent drink. The staff was polite and the service was good. Cocktail prices from 16€ to 19€. Non-alcoholic ones cost 13€.
