1987 Xigon in Berlin

The food tasted delicious, but we were a bit unlucky with the service. All employees took a break (which I completely understand). So we had to wait a while to order. A nice location, but the prices are also a bit high.

This is one of the best Asian restaurants I have visited in Berlin. It serves from Vietnam and Japan, in the high-end kitchen style, prefect for date, something romantic, celebration with friends, or just want to treat yourself better. The food not only looks amazing but also tastes fantastic. The service is great, our waiter was really kind and helpful. Surely, it is more expensive than most places, but it is worth to visit.

must try if you are a sushi lover

I’ve tried this place a few times now and always experienced slow slow service and delivery even worse. Both times I wanted to give up and cancel as it was going on for hrs. Endless promises of it turning up and it gets later and later. If you’re wanting late and cold food this is the place. The flavours and ideas of the dishes look promising but fail to deliver on taste and presentation. Both times I’ve ordered thru the food delivery app but it’s always been a disaster. Won’t be trying them again a third time.

Wir haben gestern den Geburtstag meiner Tochter dort gefeiert. Leider war der Service absolut unorganiesiert,was zu sehr langen Wartezeiten geführt hat,um ein zusätzliches Wasserglas zu bekommen mußte ich 5 mal nachfragen,ebenfalls wurde eine Flasche weiß Wein nach 30 min einfach mitten auf den Tisch ohne Tuch gestellt.. Ich habe 2 verschiedene sushi Menüs bestellt für 90 Euro und 52 Euro ,gebracht wurden jedoch genau zwei gleiche Platten,die für 7 Personen nicht gereicht haben.. Ehrlich gesagt war die Serviceleistung die 12 Euro Trinkgeld nicht wert.. Schade das Restaurant von unserem ersten Besuch wo wir sehr zufrieden waren, immer schlechter wird.. Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Geburtstagsabend sehr gefreut,sind aber enttäuscht 😥 gegangen

It was very easy to find and really great. Nice service, very tasty food and homemade drinks. The presentation of the sushi was a highlight in itself. Unfortunately on the slightly more expensive side, but it was worth it.

I haven't eaten so well in a long time! Very tasty fish, quality is simply perfect :) The young staff was also very friendly and accommodating. I'd love to come back! :)

The food was okay, but there was a lot of meat saved for the starter and main course. I have never experienced such wafer-thin slices. The service left a lot to be desired: our drinks were only served minutes after the starter. With about 70% occupancy, there was too little attention from the staff, even though we were sitting near the kitchen. In addition, the furnishings seemed relatively simple and boring. The price-performance ratio is disappointing: you can expect to pay €90 for two people, which only costs €60 2 blocks away. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not visit it again.

This place should not serve sushi,sashimi or anything else to do with japanese cousine. Everything is full of sauses that don't fit. Service is on another low level, rude waiters. I'm a type of client who never complaints and gives extra tips and super friendly with everyone , but the moment i got in this "restaurant" i wanted to leave straight away.After i had an argument with the waiter i decided to give it a chance to see how food tastes. No comment. No organisation of the stuff that works here.

I had a good company dinner there, but I'm still waiting for a correct invoice today. Despite several calls, e-mails and even though I was in person at the restaurant - no one seems to feel responsible and there is no response. That doesn't work at all. NOT recommended for business purposes. *** A good month and various emails later, despite warm words in response to my review, I still don't have a bill. Just disappointing.

We had a great time here the food is fun and you can discover new flavors. Just to know they only take cash so don’t be surprised! Will be back

There was really nothing to complain about. The best sushi I've eaten so far. The arrangement was great. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. On top of that, the service was super friendly and always there when you needed someone. It's definitely worth a visit and friends have already recommended it to everyone to stop by when they're in Berlin.

Worst service mentality in the catering industry. I don't know who lets people like that serve guests there. A lot of money for below-average food that looks fancy and is served by unsympathetic people.

We had some Pad Thai, Sushi and warm noodle salad. The Pad Thai and noodle salad was completely over salted. Also , the portions are way too big - none of us was able to finish our portions. Food waste. The sushi was decent and also nicely presented. You can’t have a proper conversation since it’s way too loud. The service is terrible. They bring the drinks and food separately. We had to get a new knife because the one on the table was dirty - and had to ask 3 times for the replacement.

So regular customers are our chicken in the food was raw in both dishes it was shown to the waiter unfortunately there was no reaction very unfriendly

The restaurant Xigon 1987 is nice place with interesting modern decoration. Sushi was great choice ( fresh and tasty ). ☝️Low stars are for waiter, she was arrogant, grumpy and annoyed if you are not enough fast with ordering food ( she was in rush so you rather order anything from menu even you probably pick something else). She acted like that to almost to everybody. Maybe she was in bad mood or do not like her job, but it is sad that one person could ruin view and recomnendition for the restaurant like that. I hope she will change attutide or job. Sorry to say, but it is true.

The ambience is really nice inside, but a bit boring outside. The sushi was good, but nothing special and the crunchy roll was unfortunately not so good to eat with chopsticks because the pieces were much too big. The service was really friendly but quite slow despite several waiters.

Super bad service. When we arrived we were made aware that the cash register system was broken, meaning cash payment was only possible. So we quickly went to the machine again, but they couldn't tell us where one was. We then waited another 10 minutes to place our order. The drinks took 10/15 minutes. Then the starters came, but different ones than we ordered. This is because the cash register system is down and the orders are sent to the kitchen via WhatsApp… A few minutes later we received our sushi platter. Very very tasty. We were not asked whether the food tasted good. Also not whether we want to drink something else. Unfortunately, we didn't see any employees to draw attention to us. When we wanted to pay, a calculator was used to determine the amount to be paid. Craziness. At least that part could have been prepared (written on a piece of paper) during our stay. At no point was the staff able to apologize. With a sum of just under €200, given these circumstances, you could perhaps have spent something on the house or generally been a little more attentive. Overall, a delicious meal, but relatively expensive. The competition's service is better.

Surround yourself with sushi - not with negativity. The menu of this stylishly furnished restaurant with the possibility of sitting outside invites you to do so. A first look at the menu shows that there seems to be a certain culinary standard here: the beef is called entrecote and, in addition to the obligatory dishes such as sushi and pho, there is also duck in orange teriyaki sauce. A second look, however, makes you swallow: the prices are high, even for proximity to the Kudamm. Simple sake maki should cost 7 euros, udon noodles with chicken a whopping 19, an iced tea 7.50. The food was well prepared and tasty, but nothing special. Overall, I find it difficult to follow the opening sentence. Addendum: when paying with card, the default tip was 15%...uncool move.

Had a reservation for 8pm. Showed up and was told to sit anywhere. We're given menus and that was the last interaction with the staff for the next 40 mins. Walked out, again with no staff speaking to us, and had a lovely italian meal across the road. Thoroughly recommend the meal at sale e pizzeria pepe across the road! We were seen to instantly and service was fast and friendly.

Excellent food. Was travelling to Berlin and lived in a hotel nearby. Needed something that reminded me of home after all the German food, and this place did NOT disappoint. 12/10 would go again :)

I really like it here. Our family always comes here whenever we think of to eat delicious sushi. And we bring guests here. We even celebrated a birthday (it was great). Sushi is always delicious. We've been coming here for 2-3 years, the quality has not changed. Also the main courses with salad, crispy duck and sauce are always wow.

8 pieces of it cost €20. Unfortunately the quality did not meet my expectations.

Nice location and good food, but a bit overpriced. Unfortunately the service wasn't good. You had to fight for attention several times to be able to order something. Unfortunately, you had to wait a long time for the drinks, so the food ended up being there beforehand.

Very tasty food (Pho, Golden Choice and sushi), very attentive and nice service - we as a family really enjoyed it and enjoyed it! We find a good price-performance ratio. Only the quiet place could be given a little more love.

So, mixed feelings. They master presentation in their dishes. The Pad Thai with duck was one of the worst I ever had, the duck being severely overcooked and dry and have a feeling it was old and reheated, while the noodles lacked flavour and were heavily oiled, a bit gross. Not acceptable at the price point. When it comes to sushi, the ingredients are of high quality, but that is all around Berlin. So sashimi or other straight forward products are good but other than that not really. I did not appreciate how the waiter preset the POS to 15% tip on his own discretion.

The quality of the food is amazing, composition and taste very appealing. The selection also very good. The prices are quite high but is situated not far from Ku‘Damm so that allows it maybe?! The waiting staff is a bit young and not so professional… they can be more attentive and helpful, sometimes it feels like a burden to serve.

Updated rating after 3 years: Very nice location and always busy, so I would recommend making a reservation. The food is very good. Unfortunately, service is very poor, long waiting times to order and pay. Employees are constantly walking past you and you are hardly noticed. Only after repeated requests does someone finally come to the table.

The sushi is delicious, but the service is poor. They waited for a long time, they forgot to bring cutlery when serving, they waited a very long time for a cocktail for the child, and then they didn’t want it anymore. Not once during our stay were they approached. The waiters are incompetent, the girl was unhappy that we asked her to change our beer since it was really warm, they had never brought warm beer to establishments before, neither in winter nor in summer. The toilet is not clean, there are no napkins. We won't go back there again, although the food was delicious...!!!

I would describe the quality of the dishes as very good, but they need more staff for better service. The first dish arrives immediately, which speaks to the efficiency and talent in the kitchen. However, if you want to order other dishes or more cocktails, they make guests wait a long time. Tipping is mandatory in the terminal as there are no other options. The cocktails 🍸 are highly recommended, although they are above average compared to other places. But OK. worthwhile!

Food was quite good. You just waited a long time for the food. Parts of the sushi were also forgotten. Even then we had to wait forever and ask three more times. What we didn't have to wait long for was the bill. After opting for no tip for the poor service. Turned away from us and didn't wish me a nice evening. It ruined our wedding day a little.

Eat: We had the surprise sushi, beef teriyaki with wok vegetables and red Thai curry with beef. The red Thai curry and the beef teriyaki were definitely the best I've had so far. So the food is excellent. Ambience: Dark but very modern. Very stylish furnishings and very comfortable to sit for a long time. Service: So the service is great and very good. Can't complain. Basically, it's not a great shop where I would go for a business lunch, but a great shop for a private meal with friends or for couples. You'll definitely have fun and it's worth it in every way. Summary: Would go there again and again. Food great, shop looks great and service is good too.

2 years ago I surprised my cousin there for her birthday with music and rocket candles. The lady who served us took the time to make us have a nice day and with success!!! The workers are very nice and do everything to make the guests happy!!! The food is always very good and the sushi is always served warm and delicious! I'm really excited! We'll always be happy to come back, thank you very much for that!

Great place for Asian food! Pho was amazing. The sushi and the other fish were eaten immediately, so I can't attach a photo, but I can say that all the ingredients are super fresh, and people in the kitchen know how to deal with the seafood! The only downside is that the restaurant is using some strange payment service and my bank immediately blocked the transaction as suspicious, so take cash here with you just in case of a similar situation with your bank

Poor service. Really tried to repress this memory as much as I could but I have never received such poor service until now. Server whose name I believe started with B (Benny, if that’s even true) blamed my husband for pointing at the duck on the menu which is directly above the surf and turf which was what my husband ordered. He said loud and clear “surf and turf” and I heard him without even looking at him as he ordered it. Because my husband was pointing at the duck, the server entered the duck. The server confirmed with us that it will take 30 minutes to which we agreed. Nothing on the menu says either the duck or the surf and turf would take 30 minutes. How would we know that he was specifically talking about the duck? When we got the food, nothing was adding up, we got sweet potato fries but my husband was waiting for udon which came with the surf and turf. And when my husband tried the “steak”, he wasn’t eating it right away as he normally does, saying he’s waiting for the shrimp. Then my auntie said that it doesn’t look like steak. I looked at the menu and lo and behold, the duck came with sweet potatoes fries. And what we have on the table was the duck. We called the server B who took our order. The server kept saying that that’s what we ordered and that my husband was pointing at the menu. He kept saying it’s not his fault, it’s not his fault. We’re not blaming of whose fault it was, it was obvious that it was a misunderstanding and we wanted to make it right. The server insisted that it was my husband’s fault for pointing on the menu. And that he confirmed it was gonna take 30 minutes. At this point, we were going in circles. My mother requested for the manager. And this server said that he’s the manager, which we later found out from another server that he’s not. We were all appalled of how he’s acting and how he’s responding to this simple misunderstanding, if he was really the manager. He continued to argue with us. But the younger server named Andy, who initially was taking care of us, quickly came to us after realizing that we were having an issue with this other server. He pulled away the other server who took our order and placed in the dish that my husband wanted - the surf and turf. I explained to Andy what happened and he quickly reasoned out that Benny doesn’t speak English very well and it was a language issue, which I thought was a low blow because that server Benny spoke perfect English. Not a hint of any accent. My point is, if you hear someone say one thing but they’re pointing on another thing on the menu, wouldn’t you clarify it? Instead of just telling us it will take 30 minutes? I don’t give a crap whatever takes 30 minutes. Nothing on the menu says an item takes 30 minutes. It could be edamame that can take 30 minutes for all I care. All the other servers tried to pacify us by giving us complimentary drinks and desserts. I don’t even think my husband received the full order of the surf and turf, he received two slices of steak. Whatever. During this time, that Benny server kept making it known to us of how pissed he was about all this. But after all that, after that server has calmed down, he had the audacity to come up to us and apologize? And all of a sudden he has a thick Vietnamese accent? Explaining that he doesn’t speak English very well? Excuse me? He didn’t have that thick Vietnamese accent earlier! And he pretended that he’s the manager! I was disgusted by his reactions especially for a high rated restaurant in Berlin! I was very appalled, I walked out of there. Never in my life have I received such service and I used to be a server myself for ten years! I was ashamed for getting this kind of service especially in front of my husband, my parents and my aunt and uncle. It was such a bad memory to start our trip in Germany.

Sushi was ok but not worth the high prices

Incredibly delicious food, I can only recommend the salmon as a starter. Great atmosphere, only the frayed menus don't fit in at all. The toilet sink looks futuristic, we spent 5 minutes looking for the switch to turn on the tap - but we did it nicely! Always worth a visit, great restaurant!

Great location, food and atmosphere. The service was friendly, just a little slow as we were only a table of two and sitting at the back. We often had to stand up and look for someone to help us, however the food was excellent.

We were very satisfied with the food. Sushi was very good and the plate with the 20 pieces was worth it. The noodles dish was very warm and had a very nice nutty finish. It was a bit overpriced though and the environment outdoors was not very pleasant.

Some of the best sushi we have ever eaten. The three of us shared the record for 4 and just about managed. "Gin on fire" was delicious.

I visited this place yesterday (my second visit) with my wife and her sister and the experience was mediocre. The waiter we had was quite rude and it felt like he didn't really want to serve us (maybe it was the hot weather and the holiday). Every question we asked made me feel like I was asking something stupid or incomprehensible. The food was okay to good but combined with the high price and lack of good service I would not come back here. Payment by card was possible. (01.05.2024)

I recently dined at Xigon and as always, the food was fantastic! Their curries are generous in portion size and absolutely delicious. While the sushi tends to be on the pricier side, the quality definitely justifies it. However, considering the price range, I was hoping for a bit more of a 'wow' factor. After our mains, the service did slow down a bit, but nothing too bothersome. I'd recommend making a reservation as Xigon is always busy, and definitely try one of their set menus for a smoky culinary adventure – it's visually stunning! Overall, dining at Xigon is always an experience worth repeating. Also, their spicy margarita did not disappoint either, adding an extra kick to the dining experience!

Very good sushi restaurant. I've been several times and every time I get their salmon tatami which is really delicious. Fish always fresh and presented well. Very nice and clean place.

I called today at 4 p.m. and reserved a table for 8:30 p.m. and they confirmed it to me. But then when we were on site they acted stupid as to whether we hadn't made a reservation. And they said they had to wait at least 30 minutes despite the reservation. I understood if you should wait 10 minutes but not 30 minutes! We then went somewhere else but it was very embarrassing for me compared to my visit from Milan. I will never go there again! You can't support something like that!

No information was given about the tip from the beginning, but when it came to payment, they said that a 20 percent tip would be taken, the price was already high, we paid sweetly, would I go again, no.

Dawwwwg that was honestly one of the best restaurants and especially Asian restaurants I've ever been to. Everything was perfect, you really can't complain about anything.

We were treated to culinary delights in the restaurant – the food was simply delicious! The service was quick and extremely friendly, which made our evening even more enjoyable. Although the price level is at a higher level, the price-performance ratio is absolutely harmonious. We're already looking forward to coming back soon!

Go there quickly because the Google rating was really good. Food great! Everything friendly and cozy. Quite loud in places.

This place gave high expectations and I was very disappointed by my experience with my friend. I ordered a yellow chichken curry and when I cut into my chicken I was horrified to see it was very visibly raw! The waitress took this to the kitchen to show them and then brought a replacement curry. I was now put off and scared to eat my chicken. To make matters worse, after being served my second curry, I didn't receive replacement cutlery and when I asked the waitor for this he took about 10 minutes to 'remember' and also forgot to bring my friend her chilli flakes she asked for. The place was mobbed and there was only 2 waitors I could see and they would avoid eye contact with me even when I literally waved my arm to ask for my cutlery. My dish was then cold and I didn't fancy the chicken anymore after seeing the horrific raw chicken previously. When the bill came, I refused to pay for my dish due to my terrible experience and the fact it was €22, it was absolutely not worth that. The waitor turned very sour and literally threw our change at us on the table and stormed away without saying a word. Never would I visit here again or recommend to anyone.

The food at 1987 Xigon was incredibly tasty, we were warmly welcomed and even with 12 people, there were no complications finding a place. The only thing that bothered me a little was the smell from the kitchen, but you can't deduct a star for that.

The decor is so beautiful and the music played consisted of the Weeknd, Drake and SZA which truly matched the vibe. The food we ordered had not a single fault. The red chicken curry was absolutely to die for and the chicken skewers with peanut sauce tasted insane 😍 I was initially worried going to the restaurant as I’m not keen on sushi and thought I may not be able to find something but the menu has so many options! By far my favourite restaurant in Berlin 🍱🍣

Beautiful restaurant, cozy. In the evening candles were lit. We asked for cola, and they brought us twice dirty glasses, I asked the bartender to change them, to which he said “so these are just my prints” 👍🫣😑 to which I replied that “I have no desire to drink from a glass with his prints” 🤮then they brought in a clean one looks like a glass. We ordered sushi bill for one, salmon crunch (baked) and avocado salad. The salad was too sweet but tasty, the sushi was kind of poor... Somewhere there was not enough fish, somewhere there was not enough rice, but the crunches were frankly... Porridge, they also put a lot of sauce on them to apparently kill the taste... It's a shame, but such service and food unfortunately did not make us stay and spend more money. Although we went based on a review and recommendation, but alas... It's not very tasty. It’s especially nice that 1 cook worked with gloves👍The rest without... In short, the conclusion is this - 53 euros.... For such service and quality - EXPENSIVE...
