Haven't tried the pizza yet, but ate at Schäufele for the third time today. Just crazy! The food, the guests and the location are simply great. Next time we'll try the pizza.
We also took home-made cakes/pies with us! Also great!
During our short break at Eyrichshof Castle, we spent a lovely evening at the restaurant. The menu offers something for everyone. We opted for the large pizzas (à la Chef), which were 32cm in diameter, and a salad.
The pizzas and salad were both delicious and filling. The service was very pleasant and attentive. We weren't constantly interrupted, everything was perfect. We highly recommend this little restaurant and will gladly return.
This was some of the best pizza we've had in Europe! Crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside. The truffle butter pasta was also amazing. You can taste that everything is handmade fresh-to-order.
We ordered a Quattro Stagioni. After 1 hour and a half, we got a "Chaos Edition" pizza, more like a climate change with a dough base than a Four Seasons pizza.
At the same time, it's Friday night, of course, and the pizza was honestly still very tasty, even if not as requested.
If you're going to charge twice as much as advertised, you could at least include a snack or a drink :/.
I called ahead specifically to discuss my order again (duck WITHOUT SAUCE).
The man/woman on the phone was extremely rude; I could barely understand him. After I asked them to repeat my special requests, they just hung up in annoyance and said, "He got it."
Well... the food arrived... and the duck... was with sauce.
I'll never order from here again. I've never had such an unfriendly owner on the phone.
