My wife and I dined here for her birthday. As foreigners, we chose the train station because the reviews promised a great experience…
What can I say: everything was perfect, very good service, very tasty food and a great ambience made the evening unforgettable! Thank you for that!!! 😎
We were here for the first time last weekend. Visually, the restaurant has a very cool interior and, as many have already complained, is incredibly loud. They could definitely improve this with some wall decorations. You can't really have a conversation and practically have to shout at each other.
However, we learned that the restaurant is moving to new premises next week, and the noise level should improve there as well. The employee also said that if the guests were quieter, it would be quieter, but I found this comment a bit unnecessary...
The food was very tasty. The chorizo was spicy and cooked to perfection. The patata bravas with chipotle mayonnaise were also very tasty. The grilled vegetables had a very firm carrot texture, but they were still tasty. The mushrooms could have used more garlic; they were a bit bland. The only thing that didn't impress us was the tortilla, which could have been a bit more cheesy.
For dessert, we shared the surprise plate because we couldn't decide. We were hoping there would be a bit of everything. Unfortunately, it included apple strudel, which we shouldn't have had since it wasn't even on the menu, but that probably falls under "let yourself be surprised."
What we didn't like at all in the end – around 8 p.m., the waitress came to us and said she would like to check out, as there were other guests already there. That, of course, ruined the cozy atmosphere. We hadn't been told when we made the reservation or when we arrived that there was a time limit. That didn't sit well with us.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed the food and might come back in the hope that it's quieter in the new rooms.
Overall, we deducted one point and still give it a solid four.
Very fresh and delicious food! Service was impeccable and very friendly!
We definitely have to come back more often :-) the coffee and hot chocolate were also prepared with love.
Nice atmosphere, parking available and central!
Absolutely recommended!
The dining room is truly unique.
There's hardly any electric light, only floor lighting.
This creates a special atmosphere; you feel like you've been transported back in time about 100 years. The menu isn't extensive, but the food is all the more delicious and freshly cooked.
It used to be really good when the boss himself was behind the counter. Now Talahons are grinning at you from behind the register. There is no house gift for large orders (1 bottle of Schwip Schwap), the pizzas are poorly topped and burnt on top of that. I'm going to eat somewhere else now. Too bad.
Staff very friendly, and the newly renovated kebab very clean.
Unfortunately I have to deduct stars when eating because my kebab plate was very greasy and the sauce was absolutely tasteless to me. The portion was very large and the salad was fresh.
By far the worst kebab I've ever eaten. A colleague at the counter cuts into the minced meat sieve and the whole thing falls apart. Doner kebab consisted of chunks and not slices.
Absolutely disgusting never again.
