Great little place! We've been there several times and the food has always been delicious.
Friendly staff, nice simple atmosphere, and good value for money. 🤗
We girls had a really good meal at Jörgis's today. The service was great. 👍
The reservation went really well. Thank you very much, and we'd love to go back. We highly recommend him, which we will do. 🙏Thanks again.
Unfortunately, the restaurant's ambiance wasn't particularly inviting—rather uncomfortable and lacking in atmosphere. The food on offer was also disappointing: There's hardly any choice for vegetarians and vegans. Aside from a simple salad, there are no truly filling or varied dishes. Those who want to eat meat-free should have more than just side dishes available.
It was also unpleasant to witness the chef scolding his kitchen staff. A friendlier and more respectful approach would have left a much better impression.
On the positive side, I would like to mention that my parents really enjoyed the meat dishes. Overall, however, the assessment remains mixed—with clear strengths in the meat dishes, but also significant room for improvement in the ambiance, vegetarian options, and the atmosphere.
Elegant, yet free…
…that's the motto of the Bamberg restaurant Edelfrei. The fact that a restaurant in an 18th-century sandstone building has chosen a flamingo as its logo shows that creative minds are at work here. This is also evident in the restaurant itself, where everything is done in a friendly, yet relaxed and leisurely manner. With kingfish ceviche as a starter, a delicious fish dish with fennel and broccoli as a main course, and three scoops of ice cream, including a spectacular Mexican vanilla flavor, guests could create their own delightful evening from the menu in December. And even those who don't want a full meal are welcome in the former palace of the Barons von Aufseß – a noble family with a free ancestry – because the front of the restaurant features a wine café-bar where wine novices and connoisseurs alike are warmly welcomed.
Not recommended. Meat has been there for a long time, is not fresh and is also full of flies, which spoils your appetite and on top of that they put onions in it even though I specifically said no onions.
The ambiance was positive, but everything else was fine, yet ultimately unacceptable. It started with us standing at the entrance like we'd been booked but never picked up. Our drink orders were taken promptly, which was good. The salad as a starter was also good. However, apparently, bringing plates was too much to ask. We ordered two pizzas that were doughy, as were the pizza rolls. The lasagna was essentially just a lump of cheese. My filet was unsalted and far from medium-rare. It could have been a dry piece of pork loin. The vegetables, however, were tasty.
All in all, I don't understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Perhaps it's because many of the guests are acquaintances. At least, that was the impression we got.
It wasn't possible to get separate checks or even to ask about them.
Will we come back? Absolutely not. The food simply wasn't good enough.
The owner is friendly and attentive. Prices are on the higher end, even considering the portion sizes. At lunchtime on a Sunday, there were only three other guests. Unfortunately, the food lacked seasoning—instead of the ouzo usually served at Greek restaurants, the meal came with a flatbread.
Unfortunately, the gyros was sold out!
With the current discount voucher, the price/performance ratio is acceptable.
Currently, payment is only accepted in cash!
Overall, we got the impression that at Mythos, cost-cutting measures unfortunately take precedence over customer satisfaction.
