nice quiet place for good meat and beer

We had to catch up with our daughter's birthday and after years we had dinner in this incredibly beautiful restaurant yesterday. The ambience, the service, the food couldn't be nicer, better and tastier!!! If I could give more stars I would 😋👍💯👌TOP!!!

We were invited here by our mother. The ambience is very good, the waitresses were very friendly and funny. There is enough choice on the menu to suit every taste. And finally a restaurant that also offers vegetarian dishes. It was a lovely evening and all of the invited guests were in good hands and felt very comfortable. Thank you very much 😀

This restaurant is a pleasant surprise: cozy seating on the large outdoor terrace surrounded by trees and greenery, cleverly laid out at different heights to create smaller terraces. Almost as if the guest were sitting outside alone to enjoy a cozy evening. There are several covered outdoor areas that are suitable for celebrations in small, sociable groups. In short: fantastic. The special ambience continues indoors. Here too, guests can expect a special atmosphere. The landlord looks after us in a very friendly manner and the entire service works great. The food we ordered was on the plate in good portions, of good quality and very, very tasty. We come from Meerbusch and would like to have a location like this here.

Dieses Restaurant ist eine angenehme Überraschung: gemütliche Sitzplätze auf der großen von Bäumen und Grün umstandenen Außenterrasse, so geschickt in unterschiedlichen Höhen angelegt, dass es kleinere Terrassen gibt. Fast so, als würde der Gast draußen allein sitzen um einen lauschigen Abend zu genießen. Es gibt mehrere überdachte Sitzplätze geeignet für Feiern in kleinen Gruppen. Kurz: traumhaft. Auch im Innenbereich setzt sich das besondere Ambiente fort. Auch hier erwartet den Gast eine besondere Atmosphäre. Der Wirt kümmert sich um uns superfreundlich und die gesamte Bedienung klappt hervorragend. Die bestellten Speisen gab es in guten Portionen und waren qualitativ prima und sehr schmackhaft. Wir sind aus Meerbusch und würden uns hier eine solche Lokation wünschen.

My wife invited me to dinner for my birthday and pre-booked a table in the restaurant "Zur Windmühle"... We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table in the beer garden. The atmosphere in the beer garden is really nice, it extends over several levels. There was also a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant The service is very friendly and quick... The boss is really great, he took time for us.. We had a few questions about his restaurant.. He showed us pictures of the renovation... Everything fits, from front to back. The outdoor area is beautifully designed with small sections, so you don't feel like you're sitting in a better beer garden. The food is a little more expensive than you're used to, but it's absolutely worth the money for the upscale ambience and excellent taste.

The beer garden is very nice and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The portions were large, but the quality was just okay. I also found many of the dishes far too expensive.

Best steak in town. Unfortunately only 5 stars can be given, otherwise I would like to give more. The ambience outside is beautiful. Small beautiful details. Classy and high quality. Once again we really enjoyed the Restaurant Zur Windmühle. The food is very tasty. Today I had a veal cordon bleu. Great breading, tender meat, crispy fries and the salad to the fore, a poem. However, what meant a finale with a culinary delight and the crowning glory of the evening...the tiramisu! Guys, my recommendation. An aromatic experience after a successful meal. Be sure to try it yourself! Thumbs up and see you next time.

The more I think about it, the more disappointing it becomes. Truly the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Nothing Viersen can boast about. And on top of that, completely overpriced. I can't recommend it to anyone.

We have rarely sat so beautifully and then eaten well too! The lovingly landscaped beer garden is second to none. Not just lined up table after table, but rather spacious, here a small group of tables, there 3 tables under a wooden roof... Fountains splashing, green and blooming everywhere, just beautiful! It was our first time there, but we could become regulars... Very friendly, attentive service, our dog was warmly welcomed, and even though we were sitting at the table furthest away from the house, we weren't forgotten. Highly Recommended!

Da muss man extra aus Freiburg und Zürich anreisen, um eine Erfahrung der besonderen Art zu machen. Sehr leckeres Essen, riesige Portionen und ein Wirt wie aus dem Bilderbuch: fürsorglich, humorvoll, aufmerksam, der alles in Bewegung setzt, seine Gäste zu verwöhnen. Dem jungen Mann an unserem Tisch, der nicht sofort und aus voller Überzeugung gesagt hat, er sei jetzt komplett satt, hat er auf Kosten des Hauses eine zweite Portion serviert während die Damenriege nach einem doggy bag gefragt hat, da die riesigen Portionen kaum zu bewältigen waren. Wunderschöner Garten, zauberhaftes Lokal, gute Weine und über allem die Fürsorge und Herzlichkeit eines "patrone", der mit Leib und Seele seinen Beruf ausübt. Schade, daß wir so weit weg wohnen, um nicht öfters in der Windmühle sein zu können. 200% Empfehlung!

We were there for the first time with our family yesterday. This will be my new favorite place. Outside there is a beautiful beer garden with many cozy corners. Everything inside is designed with great attention to detail. Styles from Baroque to Renaissance to Art Nouveau. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food tasted very tasty. We felt very comfortable and will come back often.

This evening we ate VERY well with four people and had a lovely evening! The veal schnitzel with asparagus, potatoes and hollandaise sauce, as well as the liver with mashed potatoes and fried onions and the Pljeskavica special were a huge portion of fabulous quality! The dessert in the form of a warm waffle with strawberries, soft ice cream and cream was a dream! The service is excellent and the ambience is exceptional - a little journey back in time! As soon as you go around the corner and enter the gate you will see a beautiful garden, certainly a highlight in summer! Everything is just tip top. It's been a week since my (our family's) visit but it was really just great, so it's important to me to leave a review here. It was my third visit to the restaurant and every time it was just good and really super, super tasty. The staff is super attentive and just nice. The dishes are all super tasty and are quite generous in size (I believe you will eat a lot). In addition, the boss of the house is truly unique and occasionally checks at the tables in the restaurant to see if the guests are happy or if there is anything missing, and in doing so (with one or two subtle treats) he really spreads fun and a good mood. People try it. I know I don't write many reviews (in fact, only when I feel like something is particularly good or particularly bad). But the restaurant and its team really deserve it. Just try it out yourself. We simply get seven thumbs up from our visit!

Es gibt Tischdecken und Stoffservietten, ich finds ein schönes Ambiente! Der Service ist toll gekleidet und ehrlich freundlich! Das Essen ist lecker!!! Wir waren 7 Personen und haben Schnitzel, Schweinefilet, Pljeskavica und Grillplatte gegessen und können alles empfehlen. Immer wieder gerne, wir haben gut gegessen und hatten einen fröhlichen Abend!

Essen echt lecker, aber ohne Besonderheiten. Das Lokal hat den Anspruch von "gehobener" Gastronomie, dem man hier aber nicht gerecht wird. Die Hauptspeisen werden nicht "augenfreundlich" oder kunst,-und liebevoll drapiert, sondern massig auf den Teller geschichtet, quasi wie zu Hause, keine Besonderheit. Für das gebotene Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht empfehlenswert, da wirklich nicht gerade günstig. Es ist also noch reichlich Luft nach oben.

Die Mitarbeiter, Der Chef und das Essen waren einfach super! Man fühlt sich mehr als wohl hier. Ich komme definitiv wieder 👍🏼

Zwischenstopp mit dem Wohnmobil. Wir haben hier sehr gut gegessen, Schweinebraten nach Omas Rezept. Betreiber sind mit Leidenschaft dabei, da fühlt man sich als Gast wohl, danke dafür 😄

Portionen sind sehr dürftig. Geschmacklich gut. Service war sichtlich genervt. Dennoch hatten wir als Team einen netten Abend. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier meiner Meinung nach nicht.

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal im „Zur Windmühle“. Das Essen war super lecker, reichlich und wurde schnell serviert, ebenso der Service, so guten Service haben wir schon lange nicht mehr erlebt. Und zu allem Überfluss war unser fast einjähriger Sohn absolut willkommen und wurde von allen bespaßt. Hier passt einfach alles und wir kommen gerne wieder!

We have friends in Germany and just got back from 🇮🇹 Italy I've reviewed a few places over there.. We drove friends back and spent 5 days before back home.. This restaurant. I would have written it but don't have German keypad.. Anyway friends live just across the road from it very handy. It was run down for a while and last year it was taken over and give it a new and fantastic life..the owner is a nice guy.. The place is absolutely great inside a nice ambiance to eat with a group or just two of you.. The staff excellent they are helpful with the menus very good English..a great sense of being wanted for who you are if u know what I mean.. The food is ample and cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef. We a had different dinners but everyone was very satisfied with what we had..I had a sweet after the only one who did. The waiter helped me to choose apple pie but it was like black forest apple and cream was gorgeous.. The lady night we dined there. I would always book a table as it can get busy. We had muscle's as they cook them. They come in a high tin wth lid on steaming hot. red hot. my first time ide had them like that. And nice buttered rye bread.. One didn't open so I left it..Lol.. When all gone there's a liquid with veg and spring onions in the bottom and brilliant to eat.. Twice we dined there and will again on our trips to see friends again.. Sorry for the looong review but this place and everybody involved there deserve it.. The garden outside is a delight wth lit fountains etc be a great treat in the milder weather..hope the fotos look ok..

Prima restaurant, altijd lekker en heel gemoedelijk.

Gefeiert wurde mein runder Geburtstag mit 25 Personen. Das Restaurant sagte uns beim Testessen sofort sehr zu. Die Beratung/Speisenempfehlung mit Hilfe der Inhaberin verlief persönlich auf unsere Vorstellung zugeschnitten. Am Tag der Feier war alles perfekt vorbereitet, von den extra erstellten Menükarten bis zur Platzauswahl ( Außenbereich ; im Innenbereich wurde vorsorglich ein Raum freigehalten) . Das Essen war hervorragend, alle Gäste waren begeistert. Die Speisen kamen für alle innerhalb weniger Minuten. Das Personal war ausgesprochen aufmerksam und freundlich, Getränkebestellungen wurden zügig aufgenommen und gebracht, obwohl das Lokal wirklich sehr gut besucht war. Unser Fazit: Sehr schönes Ambiente (sowohl innen wie außen), hervorrangende Speisen, absolut freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut angemessen !!! Wir bedanken uns beim gesamten Team für einen wirklich rundherum gelungenen Abend und werden hier garantiert noch öfters sehr gut speisen.

Heute mit der Familie dort gewesen und was soll ich sagen? Der Garten ist fantastisch und der Innenbereich eine Wucht. Die Bedienung ist super freundlich und direkt. Das Essen ist hervorragend und ganz toll hergerichtet. Eines der besten Restaurants, die Viersen zu bieten hat. Ein großes Lob und 5 Sterne sind eigentlich zu wenig. Ich kann es nur jeden empfehlen.

Wir waren zum Abendessen im Innenraum. Das Ambiente ist stimmig und wunderschön. Unser Kellner war äußerst zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und auch für einen Spaß zu haben. Wir waren das erste Mal hier, aber sicher nicht das letzte Mal!
