We went there for dinner on a recommendation, and it was worth it. It happened to be Wednesday, Women's Day. The evening meal included a drink. The selection was limited, but the price was very good. Secondly, we had a schnitzel with cranberries and Camembert, something I'd never had before. All in all, we had a lovely evening.

It's a lovely spot on the old market square with its half-timbered houses. The food was good and the portions were decent. The service was excellent, but they were simply too busy on a Sunday afternoon (the kitchen probably was as well). Luckily, we had enough time to wait a bit for the food. Overall, a highlight in Rotenburg's not-so-extensive dining scene.

Today I ordered a Greek salad according to the menu, with olives, pepperoni, and marinated feta cheese. They served a large portion of the usual small mixed salad with standard dressing, WITHOUT olives or pepperoni, and the cheese wasn't marinated. There was nothing Greek about the salad. When I asked, they added pepperoni with a strange aftertaste, but no olives. The not-so-confident waitress said something might have been forgotten!? In the end, the salad was edible, but not delicious and not Greek. I wouldn't recommend it.

First time there. And man, the sour cream schnitzel was amazing.

Beach party, Saturday, warm summer evening. I'd arranged to have dinner with friends. I arrived a little late due to a long drive and wanted to order food at 6:45 p.m. The answer was: There's nothing left, the kitchen is closed. The waitress was alone, hectic, and rudely unfriendly. The beer, when it finally arrived, was okay.

Very good breakfast. The salmon sandwich is so generously filled that it's enough for two. The selection is extensive. Service is okay.

Four of us had dinner in the evening. We had a schnitzel, two burgers and tarte flambée. It did take a while for the food to arrive. But it was busy and the waiter was alone. But everything tasted very good and the portions were plentiful. Flammkuchen Norwegian was very tasty.

All in all very good restaurant. The space schnitzel is baked tender and crispy. Perfect fries too. Salad is a matter of taste but also very successful. Clear recommendation

Average experience – room for improvement We were there with a large group and the service was fine. It was rearranged especially for us so that we could all sit together. The drinks came quickly, which was a positive. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us. The schnitzels were far too thick, and the salad seemed roughly cleaned - whole lettuce leaves and only quartered tomatoes made the meal impractical. The fries were not what you would expect from a restaurant. In addition, everything was served on a plate, which meant that the dressing from the salad was mixed with the cream sauce and the fries were softened by the liquid. The sauce was poured all over the schnitzel, making the breading soggy. Despite repeated requests, we received a gratinated schnitzel, even though we had expressly asked not to have it gratinated. For takeaway we had to pack our own food, which isn't ideal in a restaurant. There was also broken glass on the floor and paying took quite a long time. Overall, the service was good, but the quality of the food and some organizational deficiencies leave room for improvement.

I have enjoyed my dining experience at Zur alten Polsterei. Great location right at the Marktplatz, with a great view of the Marktplatz und Rathaus. The food was definitely good. I had the Jägerschnitzel with Pommes. The side salad was also tasty, and the beer selection is great as well. Service is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant, somewhat loud at times, but that is ok with me. I would definitely go back when I am visiting Rotenburg in the future. My score is 5.0.

Wir waren mit Freunden zum Frühstücken dort. Sehr nettes Personal. Preis Leistung gut. Es könnte vielleicht noch Kuchen zur Auswahl geben. Wir werden auf jeden Fall mal zum Abendessen vorbeikommen. Die Mittags Teller sahen sehr lecker aus. Auch das Ambiente war sehr schön.

Went to this restaurant for lunch today with 5 people. First of all everything is fine. After a while we noticed that our burgers (we had 3 burgers, 2 schnitzels) were missing the coleslaw and sour cream. I mentioned this the next time I ordered a drink. The waitress then told me she would give us a discount. Everything was OK.... She came back to the table shortly afterwards with 2 bowls of salad. (Why salad??) However, I declined this because the price reduction was fine for me. She told me she couldn't enter a discount into the cash register and asked me if I would like an espresso or something on the house. I said I'd discuss it at the table. However, since we all didn't want to drink any more, I said no. Now we got the bill and nothing was charged. Understandably, a discussion arose. I asked for an employee who could make decisions here and they came. She explained to me that the coleslaw and sour cream were just a small bowl for which she could deduct 0.50 cents.... 1 burger 18.50, 1 burger 17.50!!!!!!! Mind you without fries.... ??????? I now had to justify why I hadn't said that straight away... (mind you, I mentioned it as soon as we noticed it....and....am I responsible for that?? ) In the end, the discount somehow worked...although for 3 burgers 5 euros for 3 missing ingredients..... This is about principle. At first there is no discount possible, then strangely enough it is??? Since when do I have to justify myself as a guest? Too bad......

After some locations in Rotenburg unfortunately had to close in recent years, the old upholstery shop is a ray of hope. Beautiful restaurant, furnished in a mix of modern and rustic. The food (Schlemmer-Schnitzel on Schnitzel Day) was delicious and the portion was generous. The nice lady in service was alone today (Tuesday evening), but served the approximately 25 guests confidently and was always attentive and friendly. I'd love to come back here.

The waiter was in a great mood and up for a joke, but unfortunately he couldn't distinguish between seriousness and fun. As always, I ate vegetarian: the veggie cheeseburger with fries. The fries were great – well done, appropriately sized and well salted. The burger looked good too. However, the portion for 18.50 euros was rather modest, and mayo and ketchup were served in simple run-of-the-mill sachets. What I really liked: The drinks were brought to the table in glass bottles (0.4 l) together with a clean glass and a slice of lemon. Unfortunately, the burger itself was a failure. Although it looked fantastic, the bun was a disappointment. The bottom was extremely thin, mushy and seemed underbaked - almost like raw dough. Unfortunately, that completely ruined the burger. When I asked the friendly and funny waiter about it, he just gave me two extra napkins and left. What should be highlighted positively is that the table was cleared in a timely manner, additional drinks were offered and savory pastries were even put on the table. The atmosphere is great: very cozy and inviting. Overall I felt very comfortable.

Delicious food, beautifully located

We went there for breakfast and we definitely don't recommend it. Cheapest product, eggs completely boiled to death and you don't get a spoon or salt with them or you aren't asked. For the price, you can definitely get a better breakfast somewhere else! No recommendation.

If you definitely don't want what's on the menu, this is the right place to eat. We waited over an hour for our food. The service wasn't there again to ask for more drinks. The dish I ordered did not consist in any way of the ingredients that were on the menu. The side salad for the child's face was not served on the grounds that it was too expensive, even though it was on the menu, and another garnish was to be found. I was very annoyed. Never again!!!

Today, after a long time, we went to the old upholstery shop for breakfast again. We had the Rotenburger breakfast. When we asked if we could get a coffee instead of a lattemachiato, we were told that there was only that with the lattemachiato. It's really slowed down. The scrambled eggs I couldn't eat were strange and sweet, and had a lot of liquid in them as if they were cooked in milk. We weren't asked whether we wanted fried eggs or scrambled eggs. It was really carelessly presented on the plate. Packaged jam, honey, Nutella. The 2 slices of cooked ham were placed on 2 lettuce leaves. No longer recommended.

When I entered this establishment last week to spend a few nice hours with a few friends, I had no idea that I would ultimately have to wait over an hour for the food, which was of absolutely no quality despite the lousy high price. The dishes were dirty and there were spider webs on the lamps. Out of 6 people, 0 ended up enjoying their food or AT LEAST eating it completely. A real disappointment, if there was the option to give 0 stars, I would jump at the chance. LG a disappointed customer.

Today we had the pleasure of eating in the old upholstery shop. The schnitzel was very tasty and the fries were on point (nice and crispy and well salted). The conditions were very friendly and even our dog got his own drinking bowl. Price performance was completely ok. We'd love to come back.

Can't say anything about the food since I got no menu. Asked for a drink inside and was sent out by staff with the comment that somebody will come and take my order. I hate eating outside, but I went outside. I got my drink, but no question if I wanted some food from the waitress... Left after paying the drink and don't plan to come back.

Alles steht und fällt mit der Bedienung. Eine männliche service kraft bediente uns,sagen wir mal ,äusserst sachlich. Ein gemisch aus ,keine Lust und emotionslos. Ich hatte einen Burger ..der bacon war hellrot und nicht knusprig. Die Röstzwiebeln aus dem becher. Der Flammkuchen war ok obwohl auch hier mit Fertigprodukten gearbeitet wurde. Vieleicht lag es daran das Sonntag war. Ps.: die weiblichen kräfte waren wesentlich freundlicher und das ambiente war gut sonst gäbe es von uns nur 2 Sterne

Absolutely in the middle of nowhere, we waited 1½ hours for food. The shop doesn't know how to help itself as soon as some tables are occupied. Then of course there are also employees who sit down and have a leisurely drink while they should have been doing other things. Absolute rubbish service, never experienced before. And then to charge around €30 for a meal... absolute impudence.

Once and never again!!! We were actually looking forward to a delicious burger and were extremely disappointed. We ordered a chili cheese burger for €14.50, a double cheese bacon burger for €15.90 and a portion of fries for €4.50. Lt. Card with lots of ingredients. After the burgers were served and we started eating, we discovered that half of the sumptuous ingredients were missing. That is, the Chili Cheese Burger was missing jalapenos, fried onions and cream cheese and the Double Cheese Bacon Burger was missing the bacon, fried onions and pickled cucumbers. As the name suggests, a bacon burger should also have bacon. The burgers were rubbery frozen patties and the portion of fries was extremely small for €4.50. We told the waiter that we were missing a few ingredients on the burgers, such as the bacon or the fried onions. The waitress then said “I’ll ask in the kitchen” and disappeared. After about 15 minutes and without an apology or comment, the waitress put a few fried onions and bacon on the table. Apparently they are trying to increase the profit margins of the already expensive burgers by leaving out ingredients. You don't win customers that way.

Were there for the first time. The breakfast was simply brilliant, a breakfast to enjoy. Price, performance and service unbeatable. When we are back in my old home, we will definitely go to the "Alte Polsterei" again......

Disappointing and loveless, unfortunately it has worn off a lot We would have expected much more for a cheese breakfast for 15.90 euros. The advertised cream cheese wasn't any, but disgusting processed cheese in a mini plastic container, and the jam was also in 2 plastic containers similar to hospital food. There were also 2 slices of 0/8/15 cheese and 2 slices of Camenbert. The plates were carelessly decorated with 2 leaves of lettuce, no tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes or anything similar, so that the breakfast was very dry overall, because there wasn't enough butter either. Although the store was almost empty, no waitress came to ask if anything was missing. The 2 rolls and the croissant were good and fresh, but unfortunately that was about it as a positive because the coffee had to be ordered separately. For a breakfast that costs over 20 euros, the amount delivered is disproportionate and unfortunately we will no longer go there or recommend it to others. For what was offered, a price under 10 euros would be justified, plus coffee. It's a shame, but I'm not prepared to pay over 20 euros for such a loveless breakfast. Other cafés in Rotenburg offer much more appealing breakfasts, at cheaper prices with courteous service.

We’re used to good London restaurants so coming across this place was a great surprise. Had a fabulous dinner with fresh local white asparagus and some lovely Dornfelder wine. Great service, great value. Highly recommend!

The prioritization of operation is incomprehensible to me. She would rather serve the drinks replenishment than first take orders and pass them on to the kitchen, because the kitchen definitely didn't have any food to prepare at the moment. A restaurant opposite has now closed and is no longer a competitor, but the upholstery shop is unable to take advantage of this situation. I am very disappointed.

We had breakfast with a group between the years. First of all: the breakfast was - as in the past - very, very tasty. However, we had to wait 1.5 hours for breakfast. I really understand if it takes longer. However, if you have to wait almost 40 minutes until the first drink is on the table and then there isn't even an apology when breakfast is served, I don't find that very service-oriented. It was very crowded that day, and I would generally use that as an excuse! However, you should generally think about not taking on so many tables if you can't handle it. It's a shame it turned out this way.

I don't normally write reviews, but I haven't had a schnitzel as good as this for a very long time. The chef knows his craft. Top. The service is nice and despite the full house and a lot of walking, there is a good mood and a funny saying. The prices are moderate, the beer is good. Really recommended.
