Super delicious food! Highly recommended. Very attentive staff and a lovely, quaint, cozy location. It won't be my last visit. I came back after a year and it was once again a real treat. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could and would recommend it to everyone.

About four weeks ago, we were out cycling on Sunday afternoon and wanted to stop at the Nachtwächter, thinking it would be open for lunch on Sundays, which unfortunately wasn't the case. However, the restaurant was open for a large celebration. The chef at the Nachtwächter was kind enough to make us something to eat anyway, saying he was there, so it wouldn't be a problem in this case. We were thrilled; a big compliment, a big plus :-). Markus Schmidt (the manager) wouldn't have asked this of his staff, but he was also pleased by the gesture. We can highly recommend the Nachtwächter: great food, great wines, super friendly staff, including the manager, and a fantastic atmosphere. You should definitely try it yourself. I used to enjoy coming here, but sadly not anymore. The portions are far too small, and the Kaiserschmarrn in particular was a real disappointment – ​​absolutely not worth the price. The new waitress is unfriendly, unattentive, and didn't even thank me for the tip. My two dogs were only given one ice cream because the manager was apparently too stingy. I would have even paid for the second one, but apparently customer service is a foreign concept here. Overall, the restaurant has clearly lost quality and hospitality and is no longer worth a visit. A real shame!

A very beautiful half-timbered house in the center of Obertshausen. The ambiance is great, and the courtyard seating is also excellent. We only had a small snack: a meatball with potato salad. It was very tasty and the "small snack" was filling. The prices are on the high side, but reasonable for the service and the food. We'd be happy to come back.

We celebrated our wedding here with about 50 people. We'd been there a few times before and were convinced it would be a fantastic celebration. And that's exactly what it was! The preparations were uncomplicated and accommodating, the communication was always friendly, and the day itself was absolutely perfect. Friendly, attentive, and competent service, and the food has always impressed us – down-to-earth but always creative. It certainly won't be our last celebration here 😉

My wife and I dined there on Saturday and felt completely at home from the very first moment. Five stars are more than deserved! From the warm welcome by owner Markus Schmid to the friendly farewell, we felt perfectly looked after – here, the guest truly is king. We went to the restaurant yesterday after hearing so many good reviews from other people. Unfortunately, they were not lived up to. The restaurant was very busy, which is probably why we had to wait around 90 minutes for our food, but that's not the worst thing - if I'm waiting so long, why don't I get a little something or some bread. When the food arrived, the next disappointment. My husband ordered a grilled meat and the meat was killed twice. The meat was so dry, which shouldn't happen when I read the other reviews. With my beef cheek. The meat was okay, but the sauce was too strong and sweet, it seemed like it had been bought, and then the worst part was the mashed potatoes. Yes, if I have no teeth and am six months old, that's okay, but for adults it's just not acceptable.

This was our first time at this surprisingly wonderful restaurant. Top-notch service, absolutely delicious, fresh, and exquisitely presented food. We haven't felt so well looked after in a long time. And to top it all off, the menu was lovingly handcrafted. Rarely has everything been so thought out down to the last detail. Here, the staff is grateful for being our guest.

Was invited here. The prices are a little higher, but the quality is also correspondingly good. The portions are filling, unless you have a really big appetite. In addition to the online menu, there are also seasonal dishes; at the time of this recession these were Easter and asparagus dishes. The attached picture (lamb crowns) is also from the former. Ambience is exactly what you would expect from a pub with German cuisine. On the ground floor there is a bar with a counter and small seating niches, on the top floor there is a pure restaurant area with very high ceilings and a view of the half-timbered building. I thoroughly recommend it, unless you have a smaller budget.

Just always fantastic! We already celebrated our civil wedding here in September 2024 and will also celebrate our church wedding at the Night Watchman this year! It is always a pleasure for us to come here, both for celebrations and for “normal” restaurant visits. The service staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, and children are also treated with great care. The food here is also simply outstanding! Great value is placed on good products that are prepared with sophistication. We always enjoy coming to The Night Watchman and can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

I was invited here for a Wine&Dine evening with a top winemaker from the Rhône with a first-class 5-course menu. Everything is right here from A - Z. I can't rave about it enough. The food was cooked to a star level and served in a special atmosphere. The ambience was beautiful and rustic. The tables were set very nicely. The entire staff was very nice and accommodating. All in all, a beautiful evening of the extravagant class I can recommend The Nachtwächter Restaurant with a clear conscience and wish the team continued success and keep it up 👍 and thank you very much for this lovely evening.

I would like to give it more than five stars. The overall package is right here. Excellent service, phenomenal cuisine and a pleasant atmosphere. Dealing with children is also just great. We have already tried a few dishes (starters, meat, fish) and I would order every dish again. We'll definitely be back.

This is one of our go-to restaurants. They serve the best ribeye and truffle bandnudeln. I don’t think we ever ate here and had bad food. Markus always welcomes you with his signature SERVUS greeting and is always very accomodating. Also, the kaiserschmarrn is the best. I always make sure to order it when available. Beats any Bavarian kaiserschmarrn I’ve tried in my opinion. Also, dogs are allowed and they give them hunde eis which my dog loves. Excellent restaurant with the German feel of course because it’s in a quiant and cute fachwerkhaus.

The ambience and service are great. Unfortunately we were unlucky with the starters. Neither the octopus nor the scallops were really seasoned or had a good texture. The puree on the scallops looked a bit stale. Too bad. The main courses were delicious.

Here is one of the few remaining opportunities to enjoy German cuisine in Obertshausen. The price/performance ratio is great. Indoor and outdoor areas are very beautiful.

The food is regional and extremely tasty. I was particularly impressed by the staff's knowledge of allergens and intolerances. They patiently address all individual needs and are even aware of the issue of contamination, such as gluten in deep fryers. This meant that it was no problem at all to enjoy a gluten-free and tasty meal without any concerns. Of particular note are the gluten-free breaded schnitzels – a rare and extremely welcome option. The team is consistently super friendly and warm, which makes the visit a completely pleasant experience. The service is attentive and courteous, which perfectly rounds off the feel-good atmosphere. All in all, I can only recommend this restaurant - a must for anyone who values ​​excellent food and first-class service in a cozy environment.

This restaurant with a cozy outdoor area is modest and almost hidden in the middle of a residential area. The menu is good and varied without being overwhelming. The food is excellent, very attractively served and simply VERY tasty. The service is friendly and attentive. I'm glad I discovered this gem of a restaurant! The staff was extremely nice, the location is quiet and decent and the food had more flair than normal German food. My schnitzel was a little less crispy than I hoped. For such a typical dish in Germany, deducting one star is realistic.

The service was consistently first class and the staff's professional yet warm manner created a wonderful atmosphere. The head of the house was also present and made a significant contribution to the successful evening. All in all, it was an unforgettable celebration in a beautiful setting.
