Zum Lustigen Hirsch in Immenstadt i.Allgäu

We ate in the restaurant on February 15, 2025. The ambience is unique, the restaurant is tastefully decorated and everything is very, very clean. However, either the information between the waiter and the kitchen is lost, or everything is taken in half-heartedly. Because the food was not delivered as requested. Kaiserschmarren was also ordered without powdered sugar. Apparently the waiter noticed, so we put it back in the oven and we had to eat our Kaiserschmarren dipped in melted sugar. A very cheap number for such a posh restaurant. Really a shame!

Went through for dinner. Nice selection and everything was very good.

We were there on Sunday after tobogganing in Immenstadt. The reviews on the Internet immediately drew our attention to the funny deer. Great service, a total feel-good atmosphere in the interior, lovingly decorated, very clean (you can tell from the toilets in innkeepers) and an absolutely overwhelming price-performance ratio. The food and the quality were very, very good. I have to recommend the Akamser Töpfle :-)! Thank you for the lovely stay. It's nice that something like this still exists.

We go to the funny deer at least once a month but we have never been disappointed, no matter what we ate. We would love to buy a house in this region so that we don't always have to travel 1.5 hours, of course! We come from Bad Wörishofen but every km is worth it because not only the food but also the staff are top.!!

Very good cuisine. We had the cordon bleu and the schnitzel in cheese cream sauce. Service is very attentive and friendly. The order arrived very quickly despite the large number of visitors. Reservations on weekends are mandatory here. The website has a very modern design including a booking system for the restaurant.

The funny deer is always a top address for very good, regional food. The quality is always right. The service is always very quick and friendly. The interior is rustic and the outside area has a wonderful view.

We were here with 8 people. # Unfortunately there was foil in the potato salad, which not only wasn't great but also suggested that it wasn't homemade. A no-go for the price range mentioned here. A rather forced request for a fresh salad didn't make things any better. #A rump steak ordered medium arrived at the table in an “English” style, which really wasn’t great for someone who doesn’t like it. #The sprat decoration also gave us a lot of trouble because the roots were still on them -> we all thought there was hair in the food. #Unfortunately the cheese sparrows weren't as we knew them, here you could only find cheese between the sparrows if you were lucky. #In addition, the portions around what you saw were different everywhere. All in all it was comfortable and we were almost full. Sufficient for a one-time visit, but we won't come a second time.

We had a wonderful evening with excellent food and exceptional service! What was particularly impressive was how confident and friendly the staff remained despite the presence of 5 children. No long waiting times for the different courses, despite the restaurant being almost full. The dessert (warm chocolate cake) was an absolute culinary delight. We will definitely come back at the next opportunity. Update from January 1st, 2025: everything is still the same, so 5 stars.

Wit were there for dinner with their daughter and son-in-law. We were shown to the table very friendly. Beforehand, we were instructed by the cook's little daughter what you can and should buy in the store. (Ultra sweet) As a vegan there were 2 dishes, I didn't expect more from a place like this. The food was delicious, the price was correct.

We were in the Hirschen on Boxing Day. A very nice, rustic restaurant, very large with lots of seats, completely booked out. I was afraid we would have to wait a long time. On the contrary, the service was friendly, nice and quick. A very big compliment to the kitchen. How quickly they sent the food, respect! I know what I'm talking about. The food was super tasty, which is how I imagine it to be very good home cooking. When we are back in Allgäu we will definitely come back.

We had lunch there today. Unfortunately we will no longer visit this restaurant. The restaurant was very busy today. We had to wait a long time for our food and then our daughter was given raw nuggets to eat. However, there is little understanding on the part of the service. The Wienerschnitze was also barely edible. The restaurant is well attended. Unfortunately, one or two guests no longer play a role.

Wir lieben den lustigen Hirsch, haben auch schon übernachtet. Heute freuten wir uns riesig über einen sonnigen Platz im Biergarten. Netter, angenehmer Service, alles perfekt, bis unsere Kässpatzen kamen, die leider völlig verkocht und wässrig waren. Dem Käse fehlte die Würze, schmeckte absolut fad. Die Dame am Nachbartisch reklamierte ihre Kässpazen sofort und wir schlossen uns an. Für den hohen Preis hätten wir auf ein Entgegenkommen, bzw. Entschuldigung gehofft. Leider vergebens :( Das passiert uns so schnell nicht mehr!

Wir waren früher öfter in dieser Gaststätte zum Essen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Leider mussten wir uns ein anderes Lokal suchen, da unser kleiner Hund nicht (mehr) erlaubt ist. Schade, aber dieses Lokal ist Tabu für uns!

A fantastic restaurant with a lovingly decorated ambience. The food is also outstanding, especially the FRESH game dishes. If the hunting areas do not provide any prey, there is no corresponding court. We are regular guests there and have NEVER been disappointed!!!

We spent lovely days in the deer. There were no complaints, everyone was nice and friendly. There are new fly screens on the windows and doors. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished and the mattresses are new. The landlord was always friendly and we were treated very fairly. We'd love to come back. The food, but especially the breakfast, leaves nothing to be desired.

We are thrilled with the funny deer! We celebrated the baptism of our first child there and today we celebrated the baptism of our second son. The service was very friendly and had a sense of humor :) you felt very comfortable. The food was very tasty and my onion roast was just right. The starters are highly recommended because the kitchen works with high-quality products and has come up with something special. You can't complain about the price performance either. It's very clean there and not stuffy. Our table was beautifully decorated for us. It's definitely worth a visit there. HUGE compliments to the owners and team.

We had a reservation. Without it, the waiting time can be quite long. The waitress was young and inexperienced but very friendly and committed. An experienced waiter always provided support and you could clearly see his experience and high level. The food was very good and the selection was varied. We had a lovely evening and can only warn you that you will want to come back here to try the other dishes.

The tables are cleaned after each customer. At breakfast we swapped forks with sausage and cheese if someone took the wrong one.

The prices are comparatively low, but unfortunately so is the quality. I get this cheese sliced ​​better if I make myself something warm to eat in the evening. It is also noticeable that vegetables are missing from both of our dishes. The worst thing I found, however, was that the store was so full and therefore noisy that you could hardly have a conversation with your companion. Personally, I'm happy to spend 5 euros more and get a quieter atmosphere and better food in return.

We were there on a Thursday for a cheese spaetzle evening with live music. A reservation is definitely advisable here! The restaurant was very busy, but it wasn't too loud. The extremely good cheese spaetzle were freshly prepared to order in front of us (we sat there cheaply). On cheese spaetzle evening, cheese spaetzle is all-you-can-eat, but I really couldn't manage more than one "bowl". I can highly recommend the cheese spaetzle and the whole evening.

We went there twice during a short vacation because the menu offers a good selection for everyone, vegetarians and normal people 😉 and the dishes were very well prepared and tasty. It is advisable to reserve a table, as even on Mondays the occupancy was almost the same as on Saturday. Parking is a little more difficult, but doable with a few meters walk. Definitely worth a visit!

The “Lustige Hirsch” is a place to feel good! The interior and exterior areas cannot be surpassed in terms of quaintness, attention to detail and authenticity. The food is just as authentic, honestly prepared and incredibly delicious. The service is the most courteous and friendly we have ever experienced. As a guest you immediately feel at home here! We have enjoyed coming here regularly for years. Every trip to the area is rounded off and perfected by a visit to the “Lustigen Hirsch”. Thank you, you are a great team!

We were on our way to Lake Garda and stopped here and visited the Breitachklamm. Totally cozy, delicious food and brilliant breakfast as well as lovely hosts!

In search of a delicious knuckle, we reserved a table here. We felt very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. My husband was very enthusiastic about his crispy and delicious knuckle and the side dishes. And I'm glad that I tried something "new" today because my pumpkin raviolis were also extremely tasty 😋
