Always worth a trip/trip: Amberg and a stop at the Kummert Bräu. Tavern/brewery with very good food; Bavarian, rustic-modern, cozy restaurant with a “beer garden”. Service friendly, on the ball. Food very, very good/excellent. Child friendly. Nice seating options - several rooms. Also suitable for parties/celebrations. There are also theme evenings/events. In summer you can also sit outside. Lots of parking spaces in front.

For the crime dinner: Disappointing crime dinner – not recommended! Acting & Story: The actors seemed unmotivated, the dialogue was poorly written and the entire play was chaotic and poorly thought out. Instead of excitement, there was more boredom. Some scenes were so poorly staged that unintentional comedy arose - unfortunately not in a positive sense. Organization: The process was catastrophic. Long breaks between acts, no clear instructions for the guests and a generally unstructured production made it difficult to follow the criminal case. Interaction with guests was half-hearted and seemed forced. Price-performance: Absolutely not justified. The price was far too high for what was offered. Conclusion: We were looking forward to an exciting and entertaining evening - instead it was a slow, poorly organized event with mediocre food. Definitely not recommended!

The crime dinner is very long and boring. Bad actors. You didn't even know what to do. No explanation whatsoever. Absolutely not recommended if you haven't eaten anything beforehand... 2 hours until the main meal 🙄 There isn't much on offer for the price either. Totally overpriced. You have to wait a long time for drinks. Overall, far too few waiters for the number of guests. The dessert was a joke. Apparently the restaurant hasn't heard of attractive presentation. The innkeeper does not accept criticism and is arrogant and unaccommodating.

Very friendly and family atmosphere , the food and service was very good, the Biergarten is very nice and a great option for the summer time, no need to talk about quality of the beer as that is first class.

Went to Kummert again today for the New Year's Eve menu, it was again very tasty. The service, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back. Good luck and happiness in the new year 2025 Silvi & Erwin

Although the Kommunbräu is closed, you can buy the delicious beer at the back of the yard from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please support the Kommunbräu in the current difficult phase. ....My absolute favorite beer.🍻

Everything was perfect, a beautiful beer garden with chestnut trees.

We were invited to the Kummert beer garden! Since we were visiting Amberg from Austria. This is not the place for people with food intolerances (histamine, lactose and gluten) as the food is well prepared and everything is probably breaded. The service wasn't particularly friendly when I asked him about my problem. I then took the salad with turkey strips because there was no other choice. Although I addressed my gluten intolerance and histamine intolerance, the salad came with croutons and tomatoes! Both are incompatible and can lead to serious problems for me. But I have my emergency medication with me. However, it is tedious to fish out all the croutons one by one. Today there are so many people with intolerances, you have to think about these people too! I would have liked to have had the zander fillet, but it was probably pre-breaded. But when you cook something fresh, there has to be a piece of fish somewhere that isn't breaded. To me that doesn't indicate fresh cooking but rather mass production. You also expect friendliness from the staff! Even if it is stressful and this job is not lonely! I'm already disappointed. We're happy to give the restaurant another chance, but you should really also offer an option for people with intolerances because not everyone always likes salad! Most restaurants are flexible these days and there is still a lot of catching up to do! Given the prices, I don't want fresh food, anything pre-prepared.

Service is particularly attentive

We came to dinner with a lot of colleagues because of a company meeting with registration. The food was average (french fries unfortunately sticky etc.). However, what was the decisive point why a large number of colleagues will no longer come is the sometimes outrageous tone of some of the service employees (not all of them). You definitely don't have to put up with something like that.

Sunday menu nothing special and relatively expensive. There was a vegetarian salad and a warm dish. Unfortunately there was no vegan option at all.

The location/tavern is great. Super beautiful inside and out. We visited the Kummert on a Sunday lunchtime with the family. I asked for the asparagus menu (asparagus season) and was told that there is no asparagus on Sundays. I was very disappointed since it was in the middle of the season. I then looked on the menu for a vegetarian or somewhat, really only partially, healthy meal and unfortunately I couldn't find a dish - feel free to correct me. There's none on it. Even if it's Sunday, you can't expect all guests to eat roasts and savory dishes. I understand this in an inn in a village, but not in the middle of the city. There wasn't a dish that had a piece of vegetable in it, so I would have ordered a portion of vegetables. The only non-meat alternative on the menu was a “Heavy Mushroom Ragout with Semnel Dumplings”. That's it. The fish dish on the menu is char fried in clarified butter with potato salad. That's it. Of course that really works. I ordered a soup (lukewarm, ready-made mini Maultaschen) and a side salad. The salad is not dressed - a few leaves of lettuce are placed on the plate and a dollop of yogurt "dressing" is placed in the middle. And then the whole thing costs 5.90 euros! An impudence. I know why I don't normally go there, but that was really the last time and only because my family had made a reservation there. Of course I'm aware that you don't have to rely on me or my family, that's beyond question. I'm not a vegetarian and I eat everything, including roasts and schnitzel, but the fact that not a single piece of vegetables can be found on an entire menu is unique. Not everyone likes to eat hearty food all the time. Cappuccino was great!

Great, rustic beer garden with very tasty food

The highway was closed, so we were rerouted and passed here. After our hiking tour we drove back to stop off. Definitely NOT a mistake! Super delicious food...and first of all the beers...and very friendly, polite, attentive staff. The beer garden is nice, quiet despite the street. Looked around inside, rustic... perfect... and the sugar on top, since the waiter correctly concluded that we would like to try... he put two more Temperle as bottles on top. Great...we'll come back there again!

Hearty home-style cuisine. Unfortunately there is little choice of food for Lent. But the bock beer was even more drinkable. The service was quick, but not attentive and rather unfriendly when we pointed it out. We'll still come back because we just like it here.

Bock Beer Festival at Kummertbräu: First the positive: The music was great and the beer was delicious! However, the reason for my two star rating is the pricing and the service. We were given a piece of paper as a menu with prices that were rather high anyway. What was surprising, however, was the small print, which states: “There is an event surcharge of 50 cents on all products.” As a guest, I find this to be very non-transparent and I find it incomprehensible why the real final prices aren't written on the food and drinks straight away. A flat-rate surcharge also has the annoying side effect that prices for cheaper products - such as water or soft drinks - result in a disproportionate percentage surcharge. Furthermore, different prices for the bock beer could be seen on the menu.

Ouch... We were here for the 90s party - 7 euros entry was okay. Drinks with a deposit are strange because you can't get out with your bottle or glass in your hand anyway, but I don't quite understand that you have to show a deposit every time you buy a new beer and return your old bottle... shortage of skilled workers it will probably be... 😟

Die Küche schloss bereits um 20:30uhr. Rausgekehrt wurden wir um 21:30uhr. Essen überteuert. Die absolute Krönung waren 4 Bier wobei 2 abgestanden geschmeckt haben. Gingen Retoure und uns wurde Ersatz gebracht. Die gleiche pleurre haben sie uns wieder gebracht Die wir reklamiert haben. Lächerlich sowas.. brauch ich nicht mehr hin

Gute Bayerische Küche, schöner Biergarten

Super Lokal zum Essen. Tolle Gaststätte mit traditioneller Einrichtung. Auch der Biergarten ist sehr schön mit Bäumen welche Schatten spenden, es gibt aber auch Sonnenplätze. Essen ist super lecker und die Portionsgrößen sind auch eher zu viel als zu wenig :). Bedienungen immer freundlich und auf zack. Wir kommen regelmäßig und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Weiter so.

Schöne Brauereigaststätte, sehr gutes Essen, etwas teuer, dazu muss man Beilagensalat extra bezahlen. Bei den Preisen sollte er dabei sein, dann wär's ok. Sehr freundliches, aufmerksames Service Personal.

Biergarten mit schönem Ambiente, man sitzt ruhig und gemütlich! Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Der Service war flott und sehr freundlich. Reichhaltige Speisenauswahl und sehr gutes Essen! Komme gerne wieder! Braumeisterschnitzel war extrem lecker :)

War Gestern zum ersten Mal dort und muss sagen es hat meine Erwartungen definitiv erfüllt wenn nicht sogar übertroffen hatte neben einer Höchst Freundlichen Bedienung und einem schönen Ambiente (drinnen wie außen) auch ein Top essen der Bikerburger mit den Pommes und dem selbstgemachte Dip TOP!!! Dazu der Hausgemachte Krautsalat war Genial. Das Bier Fand ich echt Lecker kann es nur jedem empfehlen dort hinzugehen ich werde aufjedenfall trotz Fahrt von 45 Minuten ab jetzt öfter dort essen.

Ambiente ist immer wichtig. Kummert Bräu hat die kundenfreundlichste Toilette (girlfriend toilet) ganz Amberg. Ich komme gerne wieder. 🩷

Wir waren am Sonntag Mittagessen im Biergarten einfach spitze. Alles supi und lecker. Preis perfekt für die Portionen. Schweinebraten 2 dicke Scheiben, 2 Knödel und ein grosser Beilagensalat. Einfach lecker

ich lebe in Frankfurt.... wenn ich nach Amberg komme: ist hier die erste Station 🙃... und die zweite 😀 ein Biergarten ist halt nur in Bayern schön! hier mit Kies und Kastanien.... ich empfehle dringend (!) das Braumeister-Schnitzel ( mehrfach) zu konsumieren - es wird jedesmal noch besser! ein Wiener Schnitzel mit Meerrettich in der Panade: sen-saaaa-tiooo-neeellll! und: aufmerksame Bedienungen, danke dafür, macht Spaß!!👍

Schöner Biergarten mit einer guten Auswahl an Speisen auch wenn diese nichts besonderes sind. Geschmacklich trotzdem sehr gut ! Super Service der flink ist Toiletten waren sehr sauber! Sehr gerne wieder!

Tolles Ambiente, toller Innenhof / Biergarten, sehr freundliches Personal, lecker Bierchen. Haben sogar noch ein kleines Bier für unsere weitere Tour geschenkt bekommen. Die Veranstaltung "escape dinner" hört sich ebenfalls sehr interessant an und vllt schaffen wir es ja zeitlich vorbei zu schauen.

Gut bürgeliches Wirtshaus. Essen war sehr lecker, reichlich und war schnell am Tisch Bedienung sehr zuvorkommend. Preis ist dem Wirtshaus angemessen.

Schnitzel war lauwarm, Pommes waren kalt. Hoffentlich nur eine Ausnahme....

Freundlicher, aufmerksamer und schneller Service in schönem Ambiente.

Die beiden Sterne gebe ich nur für die nette Bedienung. Die Suppe war ein Fertigprodukt mit fertigen Maultaschen. Wenn es eh nur eine Vorspeise am Feiertag gibt dann erwarte ich für den Preis was besseres. Jägerschnitzel war total durchgemacht auch da wo keine Soße war. Pommes total labbrig. Das Schäufele total versalzen. Für alles zusammen über 50 Euro. Das Lokal sieht uns nicht wieder.

Ich war dort mit meiner Freundin fuer einen Event. Das Restaurant selbst ist sehr schoen und gemuetlich. Der Service war gut. Gegessen haben wir nichts da leider die Kueche schon zu war.

But as long as this place stayed in Oliver guide from Amberg, we still tried beer and some small dish there. Service very friendly, food was fresh and delicious! Evenings I'm sure they are full!

Sehr leckere und bodenständige Küche. Ich fühle mich hier sehr wohl. :) Leberknödelsuppe, Schnitzel vom Rind und Angus Steak sehr zu empfehlen. Und das Bier erst.

Super Biergarten, schnelle Bedienung, Essen und Trinken war bestens.

Das Essen ist leider mittelmäßig. Wir wurden ständig darauf hingewiesen, dass bald geschlossen wird. Sehr schöner Biergarten.

Seit das Gasthaus unter einer neuen Führung steht, hat sich alles wieder zum Guten zurück verändert. Während man bis vor ein paar Jahren schon mal 30 Minuten darauf warten musste, bis sich jemand vom Service erbarmte und fragte, was man trinken und ob man etwas essen wollte, wird man heute bereits nach nicht einmal 3 - 5 Minuten bedient. Auch kommt jetzt sehr gutes Essen innerhalb kurzer Zeit aus der Küche und man wird bereits bei der Bestellungsaufnahme darüber informiert, dass das gewünschte Gericht leider nicht mehr zu haben sei. Früher konnte es schon passieren, dass man erst 20 - 30 Minuten warten musste und dann, wenn die mit Anwesenden Ihr Essen erhielten darüber informiert wurde, dass man sich etwas anderes aussuchen müsse. Deshalb bin ich selbst 2 mal ohne etwas zu essen wieder gegangen, da es meinen Freunden gegenüber nicht zu vertreten gewesen wäre, wenn sie noch bis zu einer Stunde auf mich hätten warten müssen. Aber das ist jetzt zum Glück nur noch eine schlechte Erinnerung, denn die aktuelle Crew weiß was sie tut. Hoffentlich bleibt das die nächsten Jahre und Dekaden auch noch so!
