A place to feel good. You feel at home here. Very nice host. Food very tasty and the price is reasonable. If our route takes us via Karlstadt again, we will definitely stay and eat here again.

Gladly again at any time… Food and service great Room adequate with everything - fan in the bathroom a bit loud and one or two signs of age. But we slept well and there wasn't much hustle and bustle despite being in the center of town and having a restaurant in the house

Typical Franconian food in a restaurant on Karlstadt's traffic-calmed main street. Delicious Schäufele, schnitzel in different directions and other delicacies quickly come to the table. The restaurant, which used to be a farm, is comfortably furnished. It's a little less romantic in the windowless back room. The service ladies are very friendly. The rooms and breakfast cannot be rated.

I was here for dinner with my son and son-in-law on December 28, 1924. All 3 of us were very satisfied. Everything tasted great, as did the portions, and the service staff was particularly nice and accommodating. General resolution: we will come back the next time my children visit. We were there for lunch. The food is simply delicious.

We had dinner with 9 people. Everything was super tasty. Had duck, steak, loin and boiled beef. The meat is a delight. Is highly recommended. The waitresses were very nice and helpful, even for the requested changes to the desserts.

I'm Franconian and I've eaten a lot of Schäufele in my later years. The one from Fehmelbauer definitely belongs in the top 5. The crust is nicely popped, the meat is buttery tender and juicy, the sauce is good and plentiful. That's how it should be. The dumplings were very good, even if I personally missed the “crumbs” in them. From the daily menu, my mother had the goose breast with duchess potatoes. Fried pink as advertised and not dry at all. The skin could perhaps have used a little more crunch. Maybe again just before serving under the salamander? Complaining on a high level, which can only bring me to the highest rating, not least because of the extremely friendly, eloquent and very quick service of the staff.

Very good, cheap restaurant with a large selection of home-style dishes. What was particularly good for us on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, despite the large crowds, was the fast service because of the "October Market", and the Schäufele we loved, which we have enjoyed here several times. During the last week we were allowed to be guests at Fehmelbauer. In addition to the beautiful historical ambience of the inn, we enjoyed being pampered by the Franconian cuisine, very tasty, the portions were hardly manageable. The staff was super nice and helpful, even our bike loading problem was solved completely easily. Many thanks again to Udo and best wishes to his team. We'll definitely come back next year, we're looking forward to it, until then...

Too few stars available!!! At least 10 out of 5 stars!!! Food is super delicious!! Finally had a really good rump steak after years! My wife was also very happy with the Schäufele! What would all this be without good staff? The waiter at our table was great!!!! Also the colleagues, all very, very polite and market competitors can really learn a lot from that! To the boss! Please continue to treat all employees like this! You couldn't ask for better employees!!!!

Fehmelbauer is an exceptional 500-year-old half-timbered house in the heart of Germany, and staying here was a remarkable experience. The historic charm of the building is truly captivating, providing a genuine sense of stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts. The staff at Fehmelbauer were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality is second to none, always ready to assist with a smile. The local food was a highlight, with traditional dishes like Knoedel and Spaetzle that were simply delightful. It's clear that great care and pride go into the preparation of each meal. We visited on what may well have been one of the hottest days of the year, and it was indeed very warm inside our rooms. However, on any other day, the room would certainly have been comfortable. This minor inconvenience did not detract from the overall experience. The view from our room in the morning was quintessentially German, a serene and picturesque scene that perfectly captured the essence of the Franconia region. Lastly, the breakfast room was phenomenal. Starting the day with a delicious breakfast in such a charming setting was the perfect way to begin our adventures.

I can't say anything about the rooms because we're always at the campsite, but we always come to Fehmelbauer because the food is great. The service was very friendly. Booking a table online works great. We are very, very satisfied and can only recommend it.

I booked my second overnight stay on my bikepacking tour at Fehmelbauer and I'm very excited. It was over 30 degrees that day and the boss gave us a cold glass of water upon arrival. That's how I understand hospitality! The hotel is quaint and cozy, as are the rooms. The service is very nice and quick, dinner was at the table in less than 10 minutes. It was very tasty and the portions were right. Absolutely good price! The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. There is a barn for cyclists to store their bikes. I can happily give this 5 stars! Keep it up !

We stayed here during a bike tour through the Main Valley and were completely surprised by the great service and warmth. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and they really tried to fulfill our every wish. The old building offers a special flair, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and very good beds. The Family that owns this restaurant are the greatest people. Udo is a fantastic chef and this is excellent German food. It is a very warm and friendly place and I would recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Bavaria.

We spontaneously went here for dinner today. We were placed by the boss on the 'regulars' table' where one guest was still sitting, but that was completely fine with us. The food was authentically prepared with good craftsmanship and was reasonably priced. Service was always on point. It was just a quick, spontaneous meal for us, but we'll be back. The room was great, the shower was very small and the toilet was inconveniently located. You were forced to press your left thigh against the wall tiles. All in all ok for one night. The staff in the restaurant are incredibly nice and accommodating. The food was super tasty. We would come again.

Went there for dinner last Wednesday - but also for the last time. Schnitzel very tough, probably in the microwave for too long. Bratwursts with fried potatoes weren't any better either. Bratwurst was only fried, but the fried potatoes were burnt.

I stayed here for 2 nights on business and can fully recommend this inn. It is a quaint and very well-kept guesthouse with a lot of charm. This is what I would like to have in a guesthouse in Bavaria. The owner and the entire staff are extremely friendly without being intrusive. The house is very clean. The food (both breakfast and dinner a’ la carte) is very tasty and lovingly presented. The next time I'm in the region again, I'll be happy to come back.

“Great Franconian restaurant”. Went to the restaurant for lunch on January 22nd, 2023. very easy reservation via internet the day before. very nice reception, very nice ambience and very friendly service. Our meal including wine was top and the prices were reasonable. We were there for the first time and felt completely at home. We would be happy to come back and can recommend the restaurant in every respect. It's nice that locations like this still exist. a real highlight in Karlstadt. The Arnsteiners Otto and Elfriede.
