Great hotel in the middle of the old town of Karlstadt. Very nicely renovated medieval house with many well-designed rooms. Beautiful original objects.

Fehmelbauer is an exceptional 500-year-old half-timbered house in the heart of Germany, and staying here was a remarkable experience. The historic charm of the building is truly captivating, providing a genuine sense of stepping back in time while enjoying modern comforts. The staff at Fehmelbauer were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality is second to none, always ready to assist with a smile. The local food was a highlight, with traditional dishes like Knoedel and Spaetzle that were simply delightful. It's clear that great care and pride go into the preparation of each meal. We visited on what may well have been one of the hottest days of the year, and it was indeed very warm inside our rooms. However, on any other day, the room would certainly have been comfortable. This minor inconvenience did not detract from the overall experience. The view from our room in the morning was quintessentially German, a serene and picturesque scene that perfectly captured the essence of the Franconia region. Lastly, the breakfast room was phenomenal. Starting the day with a delicious breakfast in such a charming setting was the perfect way to begin our adventures.

I had Schäufele and a tasty country beer to drink. What can I say, it was simply delicious. The service is very friendly and on the ball. Clear recommendation! I'd love to come back.

I can't say anything about the rooms because we're always at the campsite, but we always come to Fehmelbauer because the food is great. The service was very friendly. Booking a table online works great. We are very, very satisfied and can only recommend it.

I booked my second overnight stay on my bikepacking tour at Fehmelbauer and I'm very excited. It was over 30 degrees that day and the boss gave us a cold glass of water upon arrival. That's how I understand hospitality! The hotel is quaint and cozy, as are the rooms. The service is very nice and quick, dinner was at the table in less than 10 minutes. It was very tasty and the portions were right. Absolutely good price! The breakfast also left nothing to be desired. There is a barn for cyclists to store their bikes. I can happily give this 5 stars! Keep it up !

Room good, bathroom a bit small. Service and cuisine very good. The innkeeper with his great attentiveness creates a very familiar and warm atmosphere.

We stayed here during a bike tour through the Main Valley and were completely surprised by the great service and warmth. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and they really tried to fulfill our every wish. The old building offers a special flair, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and very good beds. The Family that owns this restaurant are the greatest people. Udo is a fantastic chef and this is excellent German food. It is a very warm and friendly place and I would recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Bavaria.

We spontaneously went here for dinner today. We were placed by the boss on the 'regulars' table' where one guest was still sitting, but that was completely fine with us. The food was authentically prepared with good craftsmanship and was reasonably priced. Service was always on point. It was just a quick, spontaneous meal for us, but we'll be back. Terrace in summer, rustic and beautiful atmosphere inside. Thank you Udo & team!

The room was great, the shower was very small and the toilet was inconveniently located. You were forced to press your left thigh against the wall tiles. All in all ok for one night. The staff in the restaurant are incredibly nice and accommodating. The food was super tasty. We would come again.

Very chic restaurant that combines tradition with new. For example, you can order pee QR Code online and reserve tables very easily. I was just there to eat. The food was very good and the portions are also reasonable. Always nice to eat there.

Went there for dinner last Wednesday - but also for the last time. Schnitzel very tough, probably in the microwave for too long. Bratwursts with fried potatoes weren't any better either. Bratwurst was only fried, but the fried potatoes were burnt.

By chance we came across this quaint inn in the heart of Karlstadt and promptly got a free table on the holiday. The food was exceptionally good. Despite the room being full, we only waited a short time. The service was very attentive and friendly. We felt at home. Conclusion: We can fully recommend the “Fehmelbauer” to anyone who likes good Franconian cuisine.

I stayed here for 2 nights on business and can fully recommend this inn. It is a quaint and very well-kept guesthouse with a lot of charm. This is what I would like to have in a guesthouse in Bavaria. The owner and the entire staff are extremely friendly without being intrusive. The house is very clean. The food (both breakfast and dinner a’ la carte) is very tasty and lovingly presented. The next time I'm in the region again, I'll be happy to come back.

Beautiful old half-timbered house with well-kept rooms. Fast WiFi. Good tasty food at a reasonable price. Large selection at the breakfast buffet. Egg dishes are available upon request. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. All in all, a place you'll want to come back to.

“Great Franconian restaurant”. Went to the restaurant for lunch on January 22nd, 2023. very easy reservation via internet the day before. very nice reception, very nice ambience and very friendly service. Our meal including wine was top and the prices were reasonable. We were there for the first time and felt completely at home. We would be happy to come back and can recommend the restaurant in every respect. It's nice that locations like this still exist. a real highlight in Karlstadt. The Arnsteiners Otto and Elfriede.

Wir waren mit der Familie zum Abendessen hier. Wer typisch fränkische und deftige Küche liebt, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Wir waren alle durchweg sehr zufrieden und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist zünftig-rustikal und gemütlich. Reservieren ist unumgänglich.

Wir waren für einen Kurzurlaub im Hotel, dass Hotel liegt mitten in der Stadt und verfügt über einen privaten Parkplatz nur einen Steinwurf vom Hotel entfernt. Angefangen von den schönen rustikalen Zimmern, die sehr sauber sind. Das Bett war bequem. Es hat uns ein Wasserkocher gefehlt, da wir gern am Abend noch einen Tee trinken. Am Abend waren wir essen im Restaurant, es war hervorragend. Die Bedienung war extrem nett und hilfsbereit, da kann man stolz auf seine Mitarbeiter sein. Rundum ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt mit einem exzellenten Essen Absolute Empfehlung

Expectativas superadas! Un hotel histórico, lleno de detalles impresionantes, con instalaciones modernas y muy correctas, y con personal que parece ser tus familiares. Inmejorable todo, a repetir aunque sea desviándome mucho. El restaurante del hotel es estupendo también, tanto por el ambiente como por la calidad de comida y el servicio.

Das Essen schmeckt super lecker. Es sind riesige Portionen dementsprechend höher sind auch die Preise. Bei kleinerem Hunger kann man aber einfach einen Seniorenteller bestellen. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und bemüht. Meistens ist vorab eine Reservierung nötig um einen Platz zu bekommen.

Waren im Harz und sind extra auf der Heimreise für ein Schäufele eingekehrt. Hat sich mehr als gelohnt. War sensationell. Wir kommen wieder. Danke Uwe und auch an das ganze, tolle Team.

Uriges Restaurant im Herzen der Altstadt. Sehr aufmerksamer Service, Online-Reservierung hat super geklappt.

Wir waren Sonntag Mittag dort. Zum Glück hatten wir reserviert, viele spontane Gäste fanden leider keinen freien Tisch. Die Bewirtung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen gut und reichhaltig. Wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Wir kommen jedes Mal wenn wir in unserem Ferienhäuschen sind (6 - 8 Mal jährl.) nach Karlstadt und gehen zum Fehmelbauer Essen. Freundliche Bedienung, prima Speisekarte und gutes Essen. So auch letzte Woche. Leider hatten wir einen Platz unter einem Lautsprecher bekommen. Das ständige bum, bum, bum empfanden wir als sehr störend. An den anderen Tischen war das anders, aber unter dem Lautsprecher nicht auszuhalten. Die darauf angesprochene Bedienung verwies uns an den Chef, der mit seinem Tablet am Eingang saß und den Kunden die Plätze zuwies. Als ich ihn darauf ansprach, wollter er eine andere Musik einstellen, ich bat ihn aber darum, den Lautsprecher nach Möglichkeit auszuschalten, was er dann auch tat. Nach 10 Minuten war der aber wieder eingeschaltet und der Chef nicht mehr da. Beim Verlassen der Gaststätte kam er über die Straße und ich sprach ihn freundlich und ohne Vorwurf darauf an um meinte, dass der Lautsprecher wieder an ist und das nächste Mal aber schon ausgeschaltet bleiben sollte, weil das wirklich kaum auszuhalten sei. Seine Antwort, zur Belustigung einiger Gäste: Am besten wäre es, nicht mehr zu kommen, einfach wegbleiben. Ja, das werden wir dann auch machen. Dietrich

Sehr gutes Lokal, Ich hatte sehr gute Bratwürste und sehr gutes Bier. Das Personal, "die Frau des Chefs" und der Mann an der Bar "Thomas" waren sehr freundlich und kompetent. Mein Resümee, ich komme sicher wieder. Der, "auf dem Weg nach Leer".
