I ate here with my wife in 2022 (summer, outdoor seating). We had a table reserved. Upon arrival, my time in the German army immediately came flooding back... grrr. The owner sits at a desk near the outdoor tables. And he shouts loudly all evening... (To the staff and guests that "resting time" = "eating time" was almost up.) Ugh! The food was good. Otherwise: Once is enough!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to review the restaurant separately from the hotel here... We were very happy to find a Franconian restaurant on a Wednesday evening! ______ Food: Grade 1 to 2. My former vegan companion is in the area, partly to indulge her meaty cravings with Franconian cuisine. Here you get an authentic culinary experience at a good price-performance ratio. Very good, tender meat – apart from one slightly too thick piece, which was a bit tough. But the excellent meat and salad sauces more than made up for it. The fried potatoes were good. Personally, we would have preferred them a bit more brown – but not everyone likes them as brown and crispy as we do. If a price adjustment is ever necessary: ​​it would be better not to raise the price, but to reduce the portion size. If we hadn't been so full, we probably would have ordered dessert. ______ Service: Grade 1. We were served by a young woman who clearly identifies with this inn and genuinely enjoys her work. Such professional calm is only found in people who have earned their stripes through many demanding workdays. But the friendly man behind the bar also made a positive impression! ______ Atmosphere: Grade 1 to 2. Part of the experience is undoubtedly the magnificent setting – completely authentic without being kitschy. At first, I thought the indoor fountain (made of sandstone!) was just there for show, but no – it really does seem to be an original part of the previous farmhouse! On that cold November day, it was a little drafty at our table – keeping the outer entrance door closed (as a heat barrier) can remedy this... ______ We can highly recommend this restaurant 👍🏽

A very old hotel in the northern tip of Bavaria. A beautiful old building. It had the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. They even made some gluten free bread for my wife who is celiac. Finally I have to mention how friendly and helpful the staff were. Excellent.

The three of us, along with our dog, spontaneously decided to eat at the restaurant without a reservation. All the tables were occupied, so we were offered a 5-10 minute wait as another group was finishing their meal. We accepted and weren't disappointed. The food was incredibly delicious; all three dishes, including the boiled beef, were perfect – tender and well-seasoned. The service was attentive and friendly. Our food arrived almost immediately after we ordered. Excellent value for money! There's absolutely nothing to criticize.

A very beautiful place with many half-timbered houses

The restaurant is busy. Salads arrive in 2 minutes, main courses in 5 minutes after ordering. Large portions, good quality, and reasonable prices. Restrooms are located in the basement, older but clean.

Today, five of us stopped at the "Zum Fehmelbauer" restaurant during our motorcycle tour. When we arrived, the restaurant was full. A waitress informed us that another group was just leaving and that we should wait a moment. We did so, and just five minutes later, we were invited inside and shown to our seats, which had already been set. After a short while, our orders were taken, and drinks and food were served promptly by the consistently friendly and attentive staff. We were able to enjoy excellent food (my pepper loins were divine, as was the liver dumpling soup) in a wonderful atmosphere. The food is reasonably priced in the truest sense of the word. All in all, a restaurant where hospitality, service, and good taste are paramount. We will definitely return and felt welcome and comfortable from the first moment to the last. Thank you for this great service.

I was very curious to see if it would work out, as I'd never done it before...but the confirmation email arrived within a very short time. Our food was delicious, and it was no problem at all to change the order. The service was very nice and friendly. They repeatedly asked if everything was OK. Overall, we were very satisfied.

The two of us had dinner at the Fehmel, and it was absolutely excellent. Super delicious food, a lovely atmosphere, and very attentive service. Since we're from Karlstadt and the surrounding area, we didn't need a room, so we can't write a review for it.

If you've ever wanted to live in a medieval house, this is the perfect place. Everything has been beautifully renovated without destroying the original structure. Even the windows are original; a second window was simply installed on the inside for insulation.

We stayed there overnight on our bike tour. Very friendly staff, the likes of which you rarely find today. The food was very good with a lot of choice at fair prices. After breakfast we were given a short tour with interesting explanations about the 400-year-old building. We were particularly impressed by the deep well in the middle of the dining room. Despite the age of this building, the rooms are modern and very clean. A clear recommendation for this inn from us.

Terrific! We visited the restaurant on Sunday at 12 p.m., were warmly greeted at the door and shown to our table. The drinks order was at the table in no time, as was the food. The food! All 5 dishes at the table were superbly prepared and delicious, the rump steak was perfectly medium and tender as butter! The children were treated to a little magic trick with gummy bears and cookies. The interior is rustic, everything is made of wood and lovingly decorated with knick-knacks. Now I know why we had to reserve the table two weeks in advance. We will 100% come back!

We went to Fehmelbauer for dinner and had previously used the online reservation at short notice. That worked well, the table was immediately available upon arrival after a very warm welcome. The service was very quick and friendly. The food also came to the table in no time. The portion was very large and rather cheap. The food tasted good, but we added a little bit of seasoning. The rooms and the audience are typically Franconian and homely. If you like it a little quieter and with a lot of distance from the neighboring table, you may not feel 100% comfortable here. The menu had many meat dishes and also interesting vegetarian options (e.g. broccoli nut wedges). There was also an appealing seasonal menu with wild garlic dishes. We are happy to recommend the restaurant.
