ZUM DOPPEI I Landgasthaus in Ainring

We stopped here by chance returning from our holiday (we prefer to stop at local restaurants rather than Autobahn petrol stations) based on reviews and photos. We weren't disappointed. There is ample parking space in front, the interiors are a good mix of tradition and modern and the dining rooms are welcoming. The staff were really nice and courteous. The food was excellent - home style, a lot of flavours and abundant portions. We had the haxl (yum! The bed of fresh sauerkraut was a great idea) and the spaezle, we also had the Keiserschmarn (lovely and caramelized). There is a lot of attention to detail, not just in the food, but also the beer mats with the funny phrases, the menu in German (and a qr for for the English) and also the Bavarian dialect throughout. Bathrooms are super clean and modern (and in the ladies' one there are even hygiene products and deodorants, which is a thoughtful touch). We will definitely be keeping it on our list of places to stopwhenw we're passing in the area!!

The food and service are always first-class! The beetroot carpaccio is a real taste sensation!! We always love coming back!!

We were there on Boxing Day. The service was excellent, but the food was a flop. My wife had a breaded chicken salad. The breaded chicken strips were barely seasoned and bland. The starter soups were also tasteless. Meanwhile, the strips of filet mignon that my son and I ordered were way too salty. You could count the mushrooms in the mushroom sauce on one hand. The schnitzels ordered by the rest of our table were apparently good. So, if you're going to eat there, maybe focus on ordering the schnitzel. Dear Doppei team, your service was truly superb and the restaurant is very nice. But your chef needs a bit more practice.

Unfortunately, the food was very bad, under-seasoned, and lukewarm. The restaurant was very cold, and the chairs and benches were uncomfortable. It smelled strongly of old grease. Portions were small, so definitely not suitable for teenagers! The service was also very stressed and annoyed, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening based on the good reviews. The ambiance was lovely and the decor was tasteful. The young staff were all very friendly. Now, unfortunately, I have to get to the negative points: the dining room was very cold, so I had to cover myself with a scarf and jacket. The food looked fantastic, but the taste was very disappointing. The liver was more rare than medium, which wasn't good. The pork tenderloin was also more rare. We weren't asked about our preferred doneness, and I didn't complain because otherwise, the meat would have been ruined if I'd tried to cook it again. The mushroom sauce and the accompanying dumplings were very plain and barely seasoned. Only the salad was very good. I don't know why this was the case, as there were hardly any other guests. Perhaps we were just unlucky.

The food and service were top notch. The duck was the best I ever had and the fried chicken was very well done. I will come back when I’m in the area

The schnitzel and venison ragout were delicious. The interior is simply Alpine in style. The service was very friendly and attentive. I found the open kitchen interesting and attractive. I couldn't photograph the dining rooms because they were completely full. In summer, you can sit outside. There is plenty of parking available.

Unfortunately, the food has declined significantly since the restaurant opened. On our last visit, we decided not to return, as we no longer enjoyed the food. The service, however, was excellent and very attentive. The dining room is somewhat sparsely furnished, and I find the table decorations questionable. Otherwise, the restaurant looks very inviting from the outside, and the entrance area is quite attractive.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars My son and I went to Restaurant zum Doppei today – and we were absolutely thrilled! The moment you walk in, you notice how beautifully and lovingly the restaurant is decorated. A warm, cozy atmosphere where you immediately feel at ease. The service was absolutely outstanding: super friendly, attentive, and perfectly organized. You can tell right away that the people who work here are passionate about what they do. Everything was incredibly fast without feeling rushed – exactly what you expect from good service. The salad was wonderfully fresh, and the dressing was simply perfect. My son and I both ordered the pork schnitzel, and we were delighted. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside – simply incredibly delicious! A huge compliment to the kitchen: they cook with quality and heart. The drinks were also excellent, everything was clean, quick, and professional – truly a complete success. We're certain: From today on, Restaurant zum Doppei is my son's absolute favorite restaurant – and I couldn't agree more. We will definitely come back and can highly recommend it to everyone 💚

A beautiful inn with a fantastic beer garden and friendly staff. The owner is incredibly nice, too. Whether for dinner, a club party, or just a quick beer – this is the place to be! We always enjoy coming back!

We had the cheese spaetzle. The onion rings were extremely good. Unfortunately, the spaetzle were completely overcooked and unseasoned – not tasty. We also had the plaice with potato and cucumber salad. The plaice was good, but the salad tasted like "stable?" Great atmosphere and friendly service. Hence two stars. The food only gets a one-to-zero star rating. Can't understand the high ratings.

We stopped by here during our motorcycle tour. It was a busy Sunday, with lots of guests for special occasions. So, it was understandable that our service was a bit delayed. My partner ordered the back chicken salad, which she was happy with, although she thought it would be better to use different parts of the chicken. I was relatively satisfied with the Swiss sausage salad. There was just one question: Where were the cucumbers?

Highly recommended! We stumbled upon this place on a whim while passing through and were delighted. Very friendly, fast service. The food was exceptionally delicious and fresh.

4.8 stars - Unfortunately, it's rather average for me. I normally only write reviews when I'm truly impressed or disappointed. In this case, a rating of 4.8 stars is quite different from my experience. My parents were there the day before and ate the zander, one of which wasn't cooked yet. They said it was safe to eat, since they also serve sushi. That's basically true, but if you want sushi, do you order a pan-fried zander? A somewhat unfortunate statement. Since my parents were satisfied nonetheless, seven of us dined the following day. Certainly, this restaurant isn't immune to the problems of staff shortages, so the drinks took quite a while to arrive, as did the dishes. At the neighboring table, a couple left after they couldn't order their food about 20 minutes after receiving their drinks. These guests were told that people with reservations would have to be given priority. They forgot two side salads for us, for which they apologized. When paying, it was emphasized that this was not a charge. Ahem... that goes without saying, right? About half the tables outside were occupied, and there were no guests to be seen inside. The food: I had the roast pork, which unfortunately had a lot of fat and some gristle, and was unfortunately dry. The accompanying sauce was very tasty, and the dumplings were nice and fluffy. My companions were satisfied with their meals. I thought my dish was okay, but I wouldn't come back for that reason. The staff is very friendly, albeit a little overwhelmed. At least, that was my impression as a guest. Therefore, I can only give it three stars overall. In my opinion, there's still room for improvement here. However, since the reviewing guests seem enthusiastic, I'm probably an exception. I wish the owner and his team continued success.

Incredibly friendly and fast service! The food is outstanding. You can tell that the chef is passionate about his craft and extremely creative, and not just doing his job. The food is something special. I've never had meatballs prepared in such an extraordinary way, with such special side dishes. We'll be back and let ourselves be surprised by the other specialties the kitchen has to offer. Highly recommended!

Top-notch food in a beautiful beer garden, good service and moderate prices for the region.

A real recommendation. We actually already have a regular restaurant in Ainring. But since it was already fully booked, we had to find another. The menu is clear, which speaks volumes about fresh products and honest craftsmanship. This is also evident in the open kitchen. The food is truly outstanding. The suckling pig shank and Grandma's onion roast are particularly recommended. Only the desserts take it up a notch. The Kaiserschmarrn is in a league of its own. The only thing that comes close is Hahnei Huaba, also in Ainring. On top of that, all the staff are truly warm and accommodating. We'd love to come back!

Really great country inn. We were there for lunch yesterday. It was just great from hungry to full! Delicious food, super nice people, and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. So what more could the family want, it was perfect.

An absolute recommendation! We were able to celebrate our wedding anniversary in this wonderful inn and are absolutely thrilled. The food was super delicious – prepared with a lot of love and the taste was simply great! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and committed - you can tell that they work here with heart. The ambience is beautiful: traditional, cozy and with that certain something that makes your stay special. Our guests were as excited as we were. My husband and I ate here for the first time and were very impressed. We were greeted very warmly and friendly and shown to the table. Your menu, especially the drinks, are written very funny. Our meal was excellent. There is one small point of criticism: the soup could use a little more salt. The roast pork was excellent, as was the suckling pig knuckle. The service was very friendly and quick.

Discovered this beautiful inn on the way back from Salzburg. We ate extremely well. As our daughter put it, I haven't eaten so sensationally well in a long time. She had the pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce. The knuckle was also perfect. Price performance really good. Everyone was extremely friendly, even the dog was taken into consideration. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Salzburg and are already looking forward to it 🤩

The kind of new German cuisine where sauce and meat meet on the plate for the first time. mixed salad consisted only of ruccola leaf lettuce and 2 pieces of tomato and 2 shavings of a cucumber. Dressing was premium but staff very attentive and pleasant interior.

Unfortunately no good Bavarian cuisine We were there today because our regular restaurant in Patting is on vacation. It's a nice, new restaurant with good service. The baked chicken and the stuffed schnitzel had so much dry breading that it was inedible. We only ate the meat out of necessity. The fried potatoes had a strange aftertaste, perhaps from being fried. The Kaiserschmarn was also very fatty from being fried. It's a shame that the frying pan isn't used here. We would have eaten better and cheaper at MC Donald. I doubt the many positive reviews.

Food was very good The only thing is that an adult person is not allowed to order a children's portion if they are slightly hungry so that they can still order a dessert. Incredibly well renovated, revitalized country inn with a long history. You can't live on that alone. But the food and service were great!! The dish of the day was a beef ragout with chanterelle mushrooms and spaetzle! Well prepared and very, very good! And really big portion! Wow! And the rest of the food (crispy schnitzel with cream cheese and chanterelle chanterelle filling) was also excellent! And the best wheat beer from Wieninger! Service was great! Friendly, attentive and accommodating. We'd love to come back if we find ourselves in the area again.

We discovered the Zum Doppei country inn by chance while on holiday. We were really excited, super nice staff, super delicious food and the inn really has charm, starting with the drink coasters :D

Perfectly fried rump steak with a delicious sauce and beautifully crispy fried rosemary fried potatoes with fried chanterelles / chanterelles. Unfortunately there was no dessert left so we have to go back. Price performance fits.

When you order a schnitzel you hope that it will be pounded, breaded and fried on site. What I was served was a square, unseasoned piece of meat with the breading crumbling off. Like a finished product that was briefly put in the deep fryer. I was actually used to better things from Doppei.

The two of us were there for the first time last Saturday, the food was very good, the service was very friendly and fast, there was almost nothing going on (although we only got there for lunch shortly after 3 p.m.) BUT! If you are asked about intolerances and are not sure, PLEASE inform the kitchen... :/ They both had a schnitzel and my wife can now say with certainty that sunflower oil was used somewhere. Two hours later she was lying flat and it wasn't until Sunday afternoon that things were relatively well again - only sunflower oil causes such stomach problems!

In my opinion it is a very cozy inn that is simple, rustic, but still modern. The food was very good and the waitresses were very friendly. Gladly again.

The country inn is very tastefully decorated. The staff was very attentive. The food was excellent (mega tasty). From the starter soup to our main courses and dessert. We will come back to you immediately when we are back here from Northern Germany.
