A traditional restaurant with a rustic atmosphere, where you can enjoy good food at reasonable prices. We sat outside in the beer garden and received attentive and friendly service. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately I made a mistake. My first application was for the styrum-bahnhof and not the restaurant. 🫣✌🏼 Unfortunately I can't say anything about the restaurant. I haven't eaten there yet, but from the outside it looks very nice and high-quality. 😄 Sorry again for the bad 1 star rating. 🫣✌🏼

This restaurant is a real gem, and I deliberately call it a restaurant because the hospitality in terms of the food and the great service from the Heitmann family that runs it comes from the heart, you can feel it. To be honest, you feel like you've been transported back to healthy, carefree childhood days. It's a bit like coming home. The restaurant has been in the family for over 70 years. The atmosphere is like back in the day. If you sit down so that you have a view of the entire dining room (that is quite possible), it is not difficult to imagine how in 1960 or 1970 hungry travelers, families after a Sunday hike on the Ruhr or for a beer in the evening, and workers from the nearby Thyssen or Mannesmann factories sat down at the table and counter to treat themselves to a shorter or longer break from everyday life after their work was done. The menu is home-style in the best sense of the word; in contrast to the normal evening menu, the changing lunch menu at the weekend only includes around 10 dishes: schnitzel, fish fillet, goulash, cordon bleu, etc. and comes with a starter soup, a side salad (the sauce like before!) and the dessert of the day. I felt like I was at my grandma's on Sunday lunch, simply wonderful! The large evening menu also includes salad dishes to fill you up and also warm dishes without meat if you want to go without it. Omelettes are also on the menu, but you can hardly find them anywhere these days. The ambience is old school, so calming. Take a look around, the atmosphere is really special. There are pictures and objects about the railway experience everywhere in the station restaurant. I always enjoy coming here, definitely try it out! The food is so delicious and everything around it is a real comforter. You can hear the cook in the kitchen making the schnitzels, nothing with pressed meat. I already mentioned the salad. If you're keen to experiment, like salmon substitutes (like before) and can imagine a hearty combination with schnitzel, go for the pirate schnitzel, my absolute favorite. There is a cozy beer garden for the summer months.

Grew up in Styrum and have never been there before. Today we reserved a table at short notice with our two children. And as soon as you were greeted you felt at home. The restaurant has the charm of the old good times and you feel like you have been transported back to the 60s, but you don't have the feeling that everything is old. If you take a closer look, you consciously chose the furnishings that way and it was great. The service gets a full 10 stars and all the new trendy restaurants can learn something from it. We once had the pork medallions with mushrooms, a rump steak, the shish kebab (on recommendation) and the Jim Knopf children's plate. There was also a typical salad like mom makes, which was great on its own. The recommended shish kebab was buttery soft, the pork medallions were tender and the steak in combination with the pepper sauce was fried to perfection. It was also nice that the service (Mr. Werner Heitkamp) only cleared the plates until the last one was ready. At the end the cook (Mr. Thomas Heidkamp) came to everyone in the guest room and we had a short chat and we said again that it really tasted wonderful. We'll come back to the sauerbraten with dumplings and look forward to the next visit. We can really only recommend-- if you want to have delicious home-cooked food and spend a nice time with the nice, attentive hosts, then you should reserve a table and see for yourself. The food is very tasty. You can see and taste that everything is freshly prepared. The prices are absolutely justified and not overpriced at all. I have received a warm welcome and very good service on each of my visits so far, everyone is extremely friendly and accommodating. If you like a good meal, this restaurant is in good hands.

A very special restaurant with a charming atmosphere. The decor and menu are reminiscent of the past – wonderful! The food is freshly prepared and very good. The value for money is excellent. The attentive and friendly staff make the visit perfect. We eat there regularly and enjoy it.

I was there today with my friend. It can only be recommended! It's a nice experience for those interested in trains. We paid €52 for 3 beers, 2 malt beers, kale, turkey schnitzel & 2 sundaes. It's not how you generally imagine Styrum train station to be. Highly recommended and there is parking only for the restaurant

We are a small group and all come from Mannheim and the surrounding area and discovered this really great restaurant on a train tour a few years ago. (In our opinion, an absolute MUST for train fans!!!) The owners are really very friendly and we felt immediately welcome. There is always time for a little chat and the food is absolutely recommended!!! We tried schnitzel (the absolute favorite is the pirate schnitzel with pollack, onions and remoulade) pork medallions with gorgonzola and salad and were NEVER disappointed!! That's why this great restaurant is a clear recommendation for us in all respects!!! Almost forgot…the fries are great!!

We just like this restaurant because it reminds us of the past. The chef also asked his customers how they were doing. The outside terrace is also very quiet apart from some regular but pleasant train noises. Rustic German cuisine, really tasty!

We had dinner here for the first time in the evening with a group of 8 people and were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted, served and said goodbye. The schnitzel and the dish of the day (shashlik pot with fries and salad) were top. The mixed salad was homemade. The dessert hot raspberries/cherries were delicious. The service was quick and very friendly. Unanimous opinion: we'll be back. A beautiful evening.

We have been going to the Styrum train station regularly for years and are always more than satisfied. Everything is perfect there, the hospitality, the service, the special ambience, the cleanliness and of course the food, which is of consistently excellent quality. It is a great place to have a wonderful time with the whole family. (For small children there are plenty of high chairs, coloring books and a good selection of children's meals.) In summer you can sit in the cozy beer garden. We have been living outside of Mülheim for several years, but the way to the Styrumer Bshnhof is never too far for us! Where can you get really tasty, fresh schnitzel these days with the best salad (with grandma’s dressing)?! No matter who we have taken there with us so far, everyone has been enthusiastic and has become regular guests themselves. I didn't receive any money or free food for my review, this place didn't need that! Here the reviews will all be real! Many thanks to the Heitmann family and their nice team!

Hervorragend gegessen und getrunken. Heimische Küche, gutbürgerlich, lässt keine Wünsche offen. Serviert wurde ein ‚Rheinländischer Sauerbraten‘ mit Knödeln und Apfelmus. Dazu frisch gezapftes Bitburger Pils. Service exzellent; aufmerksam und ausgesprochen gastfreundlich. Lokal mit urigem Charme, seit Generationen familiengeführt; eine der letzten Bastionen sozusagen, hier in unserer Region. Zu schade, nicht schon viel eher den Weg hineingefunden zu haben. Danke und bis zum nächsten Mal.
