Ok, the location in a passage is on the one hand a bit "difficult, especially for the outdoor area", but on the other hand it's good because no cars drive by and there is nice shade in the summer at 35 million degrees. Inside it is very nicely decorated and you can sit there comfortably and relaxed, perhaps a bit cramped. The food was very tasty and good, not too much and not too little. Just right so you don't feel oversaturated or hungry. The service is a bit hectic, but this is probably due to Asian hospitality (I'm just guessing). In short: it's worth going 👍

A really nice restaurant. Friendly staff and the food was delicious. The homemade lemonade is a must and the coffee afterwards too. Something very special! As a non-Hanauer, I definitely wouldn't have found it without my friend. Parking only in nearby parking garages. But really a top restaurant. I'll be back!

Great authentic Vietnamese with delicious cuisine

This was our first time at Zen and we really enjoyed it. The food was really good and the price-performance ratio was completely okay. To get to know each other, I can recommend the mixed starter platter for 2 people. Easily accessible for 🧑‍🦽. With 🐕 it's no problem if you don't get wet and drooling in the bar.🫣 Have fun and enjoy your meal.

Crispy pocket was really tasty, but the noodles in the main course (MI XAO) were not fried and you have to take time, it took a while until the main course was there.

Was there for the second time. Very good level. I can judge it quite well for myself because I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks in March. It would be nice if there was Saigon or Tiger beer again next time, as it is on the menu. The prices are also very fair! And... very friendly staff 👍

Really really tasty. I was able to sit outside in the passage. Well, there are nicer places in Hanau, but it was still good. The sun in the sky, a cold wine spritzer in the glass and delicious food on the plate. Would you like more??! Oh yes, the lady in service was quick to think and laughed very pleasantly. I'll definitely go back.

We've eaten at Zen a few times and we've always enjoyed it. The ambience is nice and the service is nice. Food tastes very good and comes very quickly. There are free mini spring rolls for lunch.

The restaurant was recommended to us, is in high demand, and the seats are tiny. We had reserved. The menu is basically unnecessary, many dishes have been crossed out, others are already sold out for that day at 7 p.m., the tagliatelle noodles specified for many meals are not available, only rice noodles, as we were rudely told. My husband wanted soup, but apparently there was no more. My dish wasn't identified as a soup on the menu, but it was clearly one. This meal could have been recommended to him. But the service was far too unfriendly from the start. Although Vietnamese cuisine is one of the best in the world, we couldn't tell that yesterday. The dishes were below average but not bad. As soon as we had finished eating, the plate was pulled out from under the cutlery and we were asked about our reservation. The restaurant had given the table twice and we had to pay and make room as quickly as possible. Only when I said that I would like to sit there for another 5 minutes and finish my drink did excuses etc. suddenly appear. It was too late for us and our poor overall impression. It's a shame because it was my husband's birthday and I would have wished him a nicer evening.

The ambience is really great, everything is very lovingly furnished. The location in the Markpassage, essentially an inner courtyard, is also really great. I've never been disappointed with the taste here. I always enjoy coming back, the people are also very friendly and accommodating. What you should know is that the tables are occupied twice in the evening. So if you arrive before 7/7:30 p.m., dinner may end abruptly. Bon appetit everyone.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Zen Vietnamese Restaurant in Hanau! Every dish we ordered was simply outstanding. Both the quality of the ingredients and the preparation were outstanding. We were a group of four adults and two very hungry children, and Zen made us all completely happy. The portions were generous and the taste of each dish was simply delicious. The service was a bit cold at first, but has improved over time! We can fully recommend Zen to anyone looking for Vietnamese food in Hanau. We will definitely come back!

I eat here at least every other week. It's now my favorite restaurant. Large soups are great. However, everything doesn't always exist. The menu should also be renewed from time to time and the deleted dishes replaced

Simply good for Zen, fresh & delicious. The high-pitched waitress is my favorite person, she is always friendly and funny. The mango salad is a stunner. And the other things always taste good too. The wantan soup is too sweet for me but that's a matter of taste. I really enjoy coming here.

We were in the restaurant last night. Everyone was very nice, the atmosphere is nice and the food was really tasty. We had a table from 6:00 p.m. and we had to leave after dinner at 7:30 p.m. sharp because the table was already reserved. I thought it was a bit of a shame, as people like to sit after eating, have a drink and have a good chat. The tables were also very small and the benches and chairs had no backrest. But the food was good.

The staff is extremely nice, the food is delicious and the decor is beautiful and stylish. As a greeting from the kitchen there are always spring rolls. The vegetables are from the Hanau market. Personally, I prefer to eat the ramen :).

I only write positive reviews, but this incident upset me so much that I decided never to visit this restaurant again. Which is a shame, because the food was delicious, but the service (not all employees) was so outrageous that I would like to comment on this: We had reserved a table for a larger group of people for my sister's birthday. Already on the phone I noticed that the lady wasn't particularly enthusiastic, but she accepted the reservation without any further information or comments. When we arrived, 2 out of 10 people canceled at short notice due to car problems (they were on their way, but the car needed to go to the workshop). Exactly the same lady (she said afterwards that she was the boss there) gave us anything but a nice or positive welcome, which we disliked right from the start, but we didn't respond to it. When it came to the fact that two people weren't coming, she got really angry and said: "I asked them specifically, what's the point now" (not original sound, but in the spirit of the word) and we clarified and explained the situation straight away what's happened. Without answering, she literally stomped away and literally threw the cards on the table. She then came to take the orders. First of all, I have to say that she spoke broken German and I had problems fully understanding the lady - but that was absolutely no problem for me. However, my mother speaks just as broken German and when she took her order my mother thought for a moment (less than 30 seconds) and the supposed “boss” put her under pressure and asked several times “what do you want” “hello, what do you want now?” This happened at least 3 times. And yet I didn't mention anything at the time. First of all: The lady had also chilled our cake for us, which we brought with us because my sister has to avoid gluten and lactose. When it came to one of the service staff bringing our cake and plates to the table, we noticed how the supposed boss was making such a mess of the service staff in front of the bar (!!!) that we weren't the only ones turning around and we noticed it. And at that moment I had had enough and I asked the “boss” that from the beginning she spread an absolutely negative mood and was absolutely rude and then she started arguing with me and didn’t apologize for any of the things listed . Of course we didn't know that we weren't allowed to bring a cake, but we had eaten for just under €300, which is a good amount for the prices there. At the end of the day the lady would have continued to argue with us if we hadn't broken off the discussion and I have actually NEVER experienced anything like that. I am an absolute Sendo fan and am 100% convinced of the good service and good food and I am really amazed at how Sendo and Zen can put up such a “boss”. For this reason, I and everyone else in our group will never go to Zen again, despite the delicious food.

Food tastes very good, everything you taste is always fresh. The employees are very nice. The only thing I can complain about at a high level is that the tables are too narrow and small. At a table for two I have to push the chair next to me away so that I can even sit. So anyone who comes here will definitely not be disappointed. It tastes damn delicious.

Was there for the first time and was a bit disappointed. Our two table was quite tight (with reservation). One part of the menu was completely removed (mainly the udon noodles), which I was personally really looking forward to. In addition, the chef was not at all flexible and did not take my wishes into account, even though the waitress told me that my wishes would be taken into account - I canceled the coriander and asked for more vegetables, so no unrealistic wishes. Nevertheless, the food we got was tasty overall, but the taste of the coriander spoiled my meal a bit...a shame. The restaurant HARDLY offers vegetarian dishes and NO vegan dishes!!

Truly scandalous. This company received negative attention during a food hygiene inspection. You can read it online on the hygiene defects platform of Hessen.de, below is the summary of the test: Main-Kinzig district Restaurant Zen At market 11 63450 Hanau Violation detected on November 14, 2023 Type of complaint / product name In several areas of the company, significant deficiencies in operational hygiene and food handling were identified. Checkpoint 1 Ice cream was not manufactured and handled properly at the facility. Counter/counter: The interior of the ice cube machine was contaminated with mold. The ice cube machine contained ice cubes for dispensing drinks. Type of defect elimination Checkpoint 2 Raw materials and ingredients kept in stock were not protected from contamination during storage. Storage room basement: Directly in front of the fat separator there was a bag of vegetable onions for food preparation. Type of defect elimination Checkpoint 3 Items and equipment that come into contact with food were not properly cleaned. Kitchen: In the drawers of the work table there were spoons, scrapers, vegetable cutters, knives, etc. that had not been cleaned properly. Storage room basement: On a work table that was heavily contaminated with dark, greasy dirt, there was a rice warming pot that was contaminated with greasy, dark dirt. The wok stove was used for food preparation. Cold storage cellar room: In the food cold store, the floor and shelves were contaminated with accumulations of dirt. Food for meal preparation was stored in the cold store. In the beverage cold store, the floor was contaminated with a brown, slimy collection of liquid. There were beer kegs in the cold store for dispensing drinks. Storage room basement: The floor was contaminated with accumulations of grease and dirt. There were pots and oil bottles on the floor. Type of defect elimination Checkpoint 5 The cleanliness of the facility was inadequate. Kitchen: The kitchen floor was heavily contaminated with dark grease accumulations and old food residues in the corners and niches as well as in the gaps between the kitchen appliances and under the sink. The wall shelves where the plates were placed for serving food were contaminated with greasy deposits. All base frames and storage surfaces of the facility were contaminated with dark, greasy accumulations of dirt, as were the housing surfaces. 6.) The company did not have proper handwashing sinks. Kitchen: A wok pan with a spoon was placed in the hand basin, so it had to be assumed that hygienic hand cleaning was not carried out. Staff toilet 1st floor: The hand basin had no hot water supply and there was no liquid soap or disposable paper towels for hygienic hand cleaning and drying. I will therefore avoid this restaurant. I feel sick reading this report.

The food in this place is amazing! The place is always full, so you really must reserve a table beforehand. The staff was nice enough to get me 6 seats after I've reserved 4, even though the place was extremely busy.

Really very tasty food with good price and performance ratio. The restaurant is very busy in the evenings, so a reservation is necessary. I find the size of the tables and the seating (without backrest) rather uncomfortable and therefore do not encourage you to stay for long.

Unfortunately, a friend and I had a bad experience there. First of all, the food is delicious there and the atmosphere is really pleasant. Unfortunately I have to say the service is unfriendly and impolite. We came without a reservation and almost assumed we wouldn't get a seat, so she told us we could sit down until 7 p.m. (i.e. 1 hour). We did this too. Customers came in several times and the waitress next to us said and also pointed at us that we would finish eating here quickly then the place would be free. Absolute no-go. Afterwards a family who had reserved the table came and was simply seated at the table with us. Afterwards we decided to sit at another free table and were offered a table for 4 although several tables for 2 were free... of course the people who had reserved the table also came here and again we were asked to join us during the meal to put somewhere else. That's not possible... if you know you don't have space, you'd better tell people that way but not implement it countless times. As I said, the food was great and the price was absolutely right. But the operation needs to be worked on.

Sehr authentische Vietnamese Küche. Das Essen ist immer lecker und die Qualität gut. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und der Service freundlich. Preis-Leistung ist sehr fair!

Wir waren unter der Woche hier und hatten echt Glück, das wir ohne ein Bestellung hier einen Platz bekommen hatten. Wir wollte aber auch nur kurz etwas essen und nicht den Abend verbringen. Das Essen war spitze und die Portionen mehr als üppig. Auch der Service konnte unseren Absprüchen gerecht werden. Für bevorzugt Fleischesser wird es hier leider lange Gesichter geben. Fleisch in Kombination mit viel Gemüse ist jedoch möglich. In Sumne waren wir sehr zufrieden und werden bei Gelegenheit wieder kommen

Wir lieben das ZEN. Immer frisch und lecker. So ein tolles gemütliches Ambiente. Mittagstisch absoluter Preis/Leistungs - Schlager. Mein Favorite: Pho Bo - bedte je gegessene. Gerne und regelmäßig wieder.

Bestes ostasiatisches Essen in der Gegend. Mega Tofu 😍, als Veganer ein Traum. Die Gerichte werden nicht wie bei 08/15 Läden mit Tiefkühlgemüse, sondern super frischen Zutaten zubereitet. Top!

Mir hat es sehr gut geschmeckt (Rotes Curry mit Hähnchen). Empfehlenswert auch der Vietnamesische Kaffee und auch die Chefin/Mitarbeiterin??? war super nett und locker. Die Preise absolut in Ordnun. Ich komme definitiv wieder 🙂

Wir waren gestern das erste Mal im "ZEN" und sind echt begeistert. Haben aus der Mittagskarte gegessen. Die Gerichte waren sehr lecker. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente dort ist für meinen Geschmack sehr schön. Im Sommer kann man auch draußen sitzen. Die Preise sind gut und eher preiswert zu anderen Gastronomien dieser Art. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder und es gibt eine klare Empfehlung!!👍😊

1. Preis Leistung 5 Sterne 2. Reservieren 3. Reservieren 2 und 3 sind natürlich "Spass" aber als wir heute essen waren, kamen nach uns (Donnerstag 18.45 Uhr) noch 7/8 Gästegruppen rein und wollen essen. Zu Punkt 1: Wir hatten eine Vorspeise Nr. 18 für 15.90 € für eine Person, welche aber für 2 hungrige Erwachsene zum snacken reicht. (Konnten aufgrund der Vorspeise kaum die Hauptgänge essen) Alles lecker, frisch und abwechslungsreich. (Empfehlung) Hauptspeise rotes Curry mit Udon Nudeln und C42 (Reisgericht mit Gemüse und gebratener Ente) war auch lecker, frisch, gut gewürzt und schnell serviert, trotz vollen Laden. Fazit: Kein Michelin Sterne Restaurant, aber für faire Preise sehr leckeres Essen.

Gestern war ich mit einer Freundin spontan im Zen. Ich war überrascht von der schönen Location, die allerdings relativ klein ist. Meine Freundin bestellte sich als Vorspeise eine vegetarische Frühlingsrolle, ich den Kimchi-Salat. Im Anschluss gab es dann ein Reis-Gericht und eine Pho. Beide Vorspeisen und Hauptgänge haben hervorragend geschmeckt. Der einzige Minuspunkt: Es gab von all den Desserts gestern nur noch das Mochi-Eis bzw. einige Gerichte scheinen nicht mehr im Angebot zu sein, da diese auf der Karte durchgestrichen sind. Vielleicht könnte man hier bei Gelegenheit die Speisekarte erneuern. Ansonsten war alles aber wirklich super! Ich werde auf jeden Fall noch einmal kommen und mich weiter durch die Speisekarte futtern.

Ein verstecktes asiatisches Restaurant mitten in Hanau - leider kein Geheimtipp mehr und daher immer sehr gut gefüllt - was leider den Service des Öfteren an seine Grenzen bringt (oft nur 2 Bedienungen). Daher: Zu Stoßzeiten Zeit mitnehmen. Das Essen ist wirklich gut, frisch und man fühlt sich auch dank der liebevoll eingerichteten Ambiente wie in Südostasien. Richtig gut sind die Sommerrollen!
